In reality, this is also a research under a clear-cut pedagogical approach, so that there is herein an inten-tion to re-read, reanalyze and reinvestigate, giving rise to a speculative review, the rela-tionship between identity and culture concerning the topic patrimony.

Patrimônio ambiental urbano e requalificação: contradições no planejamento do núcleo histórico de Santos / Urban environmental patrimony and requalification: contradictions in the planning of historical nucleus of Santos

Cardoso, Jorge de Jesus 09 August 2007 (has links)
The present work searches to draw an urban, historical and current panorama, of the public politics implanted in the municipal district of Santos, especially in those turned to the older central area of the city, starting from the second half of the century XX. Archeological ethics and cultural property: the debate of conservationist vs. repatriationist and perceptivity from philosophical perspectives

Shahidan, Shaiful Idzwan January 2006 (has links)

Throughout the course of human civilizations, archaeology is considered as a tool that can be manipulated to achieve certain kind of objectives. For centuries, people struggle for the rights of possession of certain artifacts with significant meanings to their collectivity. One of the main aspects of the debate in archaeology is ethics, and how it plays a big role in mapping out a state of difficulty that needs to be resolved. This thesis deals with the issues of cultural property rights, and evaluating some moral stands behind the argument, by looking at Lord’s Elgin marbles case as a starting point. Could the marbles be considered as stolen properties bought from Lord Elgin? Is repatriation indispensable? Does the Ottomans Empires and Lord Elgin has the right to dispose and bring home the marbles, respectively, at the first place? These questions would be analyze through both conservationist and “repatriationist” perspectives, Robert Nozick’s philosophical perspectives on cultural property rights and the cosmopolitanism’s views on dealing with antiquities and artifacts restitution. Despite the fact that cultural property rights issues can be a delicate matter, it is important to show that there is still hope for an overlapping consensus among conservationist and pro-restitution group.

García León, José Miguel 18 December 2008 (has links)
The scientific-technical investigation that we present here, has as its objective the provision of tools for knowledge and the tranmission of historic-artistic heritage in the South of the Antiguo Reyno of Valencia. In the face of the current fragmentation of the ecosystem, the monopolization of land and the dispersion of cultural offerings, the study is based on the design of didactic programs to explain the dissemination process of artistic forms. In contrast to the current models of disseminating publicity, touristic propaganda and the spectacle of the museum, the doctoral thesis responds to insufficient management of rules for protection and conservation that are in force, using a popularising effort to help imbue these resources with integral value. Starting with a holistic conception, we broach the study of artistic monuments, not as an isolated element but rather as a signifier, a product of the relationships that are established via routes of communication. In an inventory-guide we attempt to give value to the old routes and their role in underpinning social activity, thereby connecting our origins to our contemporary world. The creation of functional models of cultural production goes through the development of stable scientific structures of classification and definition, into which more ambitious elements are then introduced. The reflection motivates us to the positing of a series of related premises concerning the administration of resources, and advance participation in the process of environmental interpretation, with the end of creating instruments of cultural dialogue. In the face of the current dialectic between the culture of the museum brand and the social models of cultural production, we choose to situate ourselves in a context of education on the values of nature, recognising the culture of a town through the artifices which each civilisation introduces in the name of cultural construction, the urban space, the territory and the landscape. From this point on, the reclaiming of the routes of communication, we are not only giving value to the natural and cultural resources, we are also introducing the elements which must be protected and conserved, making the land profitable for the benefit of communities in decline. The plan for the realisation of an working interpretative programme manifests itself in ideas of spatio-temporal journey, and the panoramic recreation of cultural manifestations from Prehistory up to the 20th Century. In transit on the roads between Jucar and Vinalopo, we consider the geographic characteristics and the local ecosystems; factors which favour the continuity of numerous cultural similarities between the nuclei of population established in the mountainous terrain, the horta and the sea coast. The features of cultural dialogue and dialectic derive from the concepts of seasonality and frequency. These constant guidelines are conditioned by environmental changes, proceeding from colonisation, and resistance or assimilation in the face of it. The intesity of cultural flows serves to unfold a series of didactic circuits linked to a study of the roads and paths that traverse the scenery of the southern coast. The final itinerary, as a crossing or a route, is conveyed with cartography, where the trip plan follows the indications of roads and rests, with those elements incorporating in the trajectory those elements and groups which need protection; allowing us to introduce a universe of traditions, going further than localisms, in order to participate in a social history of universal art.

Czerny, Miroslawa, Córdova Aguilar, Hildegardo 10 April 2018 (has links)
Cultural patrimony or heritage is made of a set of ideas, objects of the naturallandscape, artistic creations, buildings, technologies, etc., that accumulate through time and are passed to the descendants of a place as their footprints. This heritage deserves to be studied from the geographical point of view because it is a very important factor to understand the differing ways of spatial organization even in homogeneous territories. Cultural heritage gives birth to identity feelings to places that people adopt as theirs. This lead them to group in different sets that may be studied at local, regional, nationaland international levels.

Efrom, Bianca January 2010 (has links)
To analyze how are and work the identity and brands of Historic Patrimony Department and of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in communication pieces for the Restoration Project of the Heritage fundraising is the goal of this dissertation. To do that, it was chosen bibliographic and referential researches, document analysis, in-depth interviews and content analysis. Based on the theoretical framework on the issues under investigation, it was determined the identity of the Historic Patrimony Department and of UFRGS, educational institution, which the Department is bound. Subsequently there was brands analysis over the same subjects. Finally, there was an evaluation on that communication through content analysis from mass media parts, advertisements displayed in the Zero Hora in the first half of 2009. It was noticed that the characteristics of identity and the brands identified in the first stage of this study were presented in the ads achieved and they also affected their management. These factors denote that both the UFRGS and the Department have a lack of an organized process of identity management and brand.
