As a social worker, I become involved in a process that I in no way can stand behind” : social workers' experiences of how amendments in law change working conditions and professional identity

Kauppi, Jannika January 2018 (has links)
Respondenterna påverkades även i sitt privatliv. / The Purpose of this studie has been to investigate how the socialworkers professional identity in relation with unaccompanied refugee children, has been effected by amendments of the law. Since several amendments of the law has been in contact with the social work I have chosen SFS 2016:750. With this amendment timelimted residence permits was initiated which limited possibilities for family reuinons with a relative background, in the midst of this the sustention demands was hardened. Eight social workers has been interviewed in a qualitative, semi-structured manner. These social workers has been involved professionally with the target group constisting of unaccompanied refugee children, both prior and after that the amendment of the law was made. The Interviews has then been the foundation of the material that has been analysed with the help of a theorecital frame of reference that is the foundation of the socialworkers professional identity and role, previously conducted research has also been accounted for. The results of the studie concludes that when the prerequesites are changed it also changes the social workers profesional situation, both internally and externally, in regards of the relation between the social worker and the refugee children. Also the private life of the respondends were effected. The result and analysis show that the Professional identity and role got separated when the professional role are changed when SFS 2016:752 was amended. The Professional identity is put to the test and the social workers own ethical compas decides how the social work itself should be performed. Amendments of the law also reflects on the social workers professional work and compensatory strategies are made. The social workers are affected on different levels of health by the consequences that appear in the sitiation, the results of the studie shows that this relates to guidance, empathy managemant and emotional control.

Construindo a identidade do odontólogo. / The object of study of this paper is the continuing education as a strategy to reorganize the work process in the emergency room at emergency department. The general aims of this study was to use the permanent education as a strategy to reorganize the work process in the emergency room at emergency department. In the first stage was built a forwarded flow to the dental emergency section. On the second stage, after analysis of contente according to Bardin, it was built four following classes: 1) The biomedical model still reflected on the thinking and action, evidenced on the analysis of the responses, which the employees do not understand working in a multidisciplinary team and also mentioned the biomedical model; 2) Tooth for a tooth: The Code of Hammurabi and Tiradentes, revealing that most workers assign meaning to oral dental care; 3) What am I doing here? Building the identity of the dentist. The study reveals that many of the participants do not understand the dentist's role in emergency work process and they do not respond admitting not knowing it when asked for assign a meaning outside the dental contexto.4) Building up bridges for completeness, noting that few participants understood the concepts of the continuing education and its ability to transform problems situations in their daily professional life. Holmlund, Ebba, Karlsson, Josefine January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate and analyze how counsellors in palliative care view their role as a counsellor and how they are affected by the emotional labor. The study is based on qualitative interviews with six counsellors that work in palliative care and a thematic analysis was used to analyze the interviews. The study is conducted in order to gain an understanding of how the counsellors view their professional role in the advanced healthcare at the home in palliative care as well as the impact the work has on the counsellors and what methods and support is available. Role theory and Hochschild's theory of emotional labor was used to analyze the result. The result shows that counsellors are secure in their role as a counsellor and that they find support in their colleagues and management. They handle their emotions by separating their personal selves from their professional selves. A big workload was among the things that was seen as a challenge. The things that the counsellors found giving with their work were satisfaction and excitement.

Which are my tasks as a special education teacher? : A material-discursive analysis of the special educator´s assignments and professional role in a school district

Kullberg, Helena January 2020 (has links)
The special educator´s mission and professional role have for many years been noticed in the research, mainly in relation to the special teacher´s mission and professional role to highlight similarities and differences. This study has an ambition to help illuminate what influences the design of a special educator´s mission and professional role. The study is qualitative and is based on Karen Barad´s theory of agentic realism where both human and non-human bodies (performative agents) influence perceptions about, for example the special educator´s mission and professional role. Matter and language are strongly interconnected in the reality in which the special educator works and therefore the study is based on a material-discursive analysis. The purpose of the study is to illustrate and identify which performative agents influence how the special educator´s assignments and professional role are designed in primary school in a school district. The method part is based on a letter method and semistructured interviews with specialist teachers, special educators, principals and a school district manager in a school district. In order to clarify which performative agents own agents in the processing, an analysis scheme has been created based on assignments and professional role. In the analysis schedule for the assignment, the performative agents have been categorized on the basis of a figure that I created to clarify the assignment. The results section shows how assignments and professional roles are presented by special educators, special teachers, principals and a school district manager, and points to the fact that there are a large number of performative agents, of which the principals competence, the decision of the principal, the needs of the organization and the knowledge and competence of the special educator are of great importance in the design of the special educator´s assignment and profession. Finally, we discuss the importance of the performative agents for the design of the special educator´s mission and professional role and how the special educational support is designed in an organization. But also how the figure used can be a clear model to use to analyze the special educator´s assignment in relation to the student health team´s health promotion, prevention and corrective work in the school organization, i.e. as part of school development.

Dold under draperingen : En intervjustudie om operationssjuksköterskans förhållningssätt till hela människan under arbetet i operationssåret / Beneath the draping : An interview study of the operating theatre nurse’s attitude towards the whole picture of the human being during the work in the surgical wound.

Karlsson, Linda, Sundqvist, Ida January 2021 (has links)
Background: During a surgical procedure, the patient is often anesthetized and covered with draping material. The operating theatre nurse has expertise regarding the care of the patient in connection to surgical procedures. In the technological environment, the operating theatre nurse's work is focused on the surgical wound, during the operation. In this situation, there is a risk that the view of the patient will change from being a person into an object, and will not be seen as a human being. Objective:This study aims to investigate the operating theatre nurse’s attitude towards the whole picture of the human being during the work in the surgical wound. Method: The study was conducted with a qualitative interview method with an inductive approach, and eleven operating theatre nurses from two different hospitals in southern Sweden were interviewed with semi-structured interview questions. The data material was analyzed with latent content analysis in accordance with Erlingsson and Brysiewicz (2017). Result: The recurring theme in the result was See the human being beneath the draping. The operating theatre nurses described that careful preparation and trust in colleagues were a prerequisite in performing their work in the surgical wound. They were constantly alert to changes around the patient, and guarded the patient and the exposed body during the operation. Even during the work in the surgical wound, the operating theatre nurses were aware of the patient who was beneath the draping and the focus in the surgical wound was due to the concern of the patient, and the best surgical result. Conclusion: The operating theatre nurses are constantly aware of the whole person when they focus during the work in the surgical wound. Their patient focus is to do what is best for the patient. Even in situations when attention must be paid to the work in the wound, it is always due to the concern of the patient and gives a positive image of the profession of the operating theatre nurse.

"Det är inte okej att ha så här högt tempo i dom här utskrivningarna" : En kvalitativ studie om lag (2017:612) om samverkan vid utskrivning från sluten hälso- och sjukvård ur biståndshandläggares perspektiv / ”It is not okay to have such high speed in these hospital discharges” : – a qualitative study about lag (2017:612) om samverkan vid utskrivning från sluten hälso- och sjukvård from the perspective of care managers.

Backman, Linda January 2020 (has links)
In 2018, a new welfare law was implemented in Sweden aiming to increase the collaboration between hospital care, primary care and municipalities in cases where patients are in need of continued care and attention after they have been discharged from inpatient care (the Collaboration Act, my translation). The legislation contains instructions on the division of responsibilities between the different actors involved in the collaboration, but also provisions about municipal payment responsibility in cases where patients can´t be discharged from inpatient care at hospital within three days from the day he or she has been assessed as medically finished by the responsible doctor. This study aimed to describe and analyze the significance of the Collaboration Act for care managers in cases where elderly people have been discharged inpatient care. The empirical material was collected through qualitative interviews with six care managers. In order to analyze the empirical material a theoretical framework has been used consisting of Lundquists theory on officials as guardians of democracy and Lipskys theory on street-level bureaucrats. The result indicates that the care managers working methods are unchanged, but that the pace has increased in the care planning process. This means that the same amount of work must be performed as before, but with a more limited time before the municipal payment responsibility arises which has led to a consequence with inadequate investigations and needs assessments for the elderly client. To handle this dilemma, care managers overcompensate the elderly client with care interventions to create a feeling of security when they are dischared from inpatient care.
