1	"En man och en kvinna tillsammans" Lindell Thelin, Mette January 2016 (has links) The aim of this essay was to investigate in what manner sexuality is and has been portrayed and represented in course books used in religious studies in Swedish upper secondary school. In order to study the progression of how Swedish education has portrayed sexuality, course books from the 1970s, the 1990s and 2013 were studied. Moreover, to get a deeper understanding of the subject, the curricula from each time period were also investigated. The method used was first and foremost a qualitative content analysis, but a quantitative approach was also used in some occasions. To get the result of this investigation four questions were asked: “In what way is sexuality portrayed in the curricula?”, “Where in the course books is sexuality discussed?”, “Which questions regarding sexuality are discussed?” and also “What types of sexualities are represented?”. The result of this essay demonstrates the fact that how sexuality is portrayed in Swedish course books for religious studies has changed since the 1970s. By discussing the results with the help of Ambjörnsson’s queer-theoretical analysis, it has become clear that Swedish education has gone from a rather heteronormative approach on portraying sexuality to a more including one. The subject of sexuality is more nuanced in the latest course book, and the subject has been given more space in the books. However, what has remained the same is the fact that only a few of the chapters discussing different religions also discuss sexuality. In the course books from previous time periods sexuality was almost exclusively discussed in chapters about Islam and Christianity, and even though sexuality is discussed in a different manner that is still the case. 2	"Det är ändå ingen som kommer att tro mig" : En studie med fokus på sexuella övergrepp och konstruerandet av könsidentiteter i "Hip Hip Hora" och "Säg att du älskar mig" Gosende, Natalie January 2014 (has links) I denna studie har jag valt att analysera två svenska ungdomsfilmer som behandlar ett ämne som är högst aktuellt i dagens samhälleliga debatt; hur unga kvinnor skuldbeläggs av sin omgivning efter att ha blivit utsatta för sexuella övergrepp, trakasserier eller våldtäkt. Mitt syfte är att undersöka konstruerandet av könsidentiteter i de två svenska ungdomsfilmerna ”Hip Hip hora” och ”Säg att du älskar mig” som båda använts i utbildningssyfte i svenska skolor. Vidare vill jag undersöka hur konstruktionen av kön samverkar med skapandet av sexualitet, ras/etnicitet och klass i de två filmerna. För att undersöka detta har jag använt mig av en kvalitativ metod; narrationsanalys. Mitt teoretiska ramverk består av vad medier har för påverkan och betydelse för identitetsskapande, en del queerteori, kritisk rasforskning, samt en intersektionell analys. Resultatet visar att det ligger ojämlika maktrelationer inbäddade i representationen av kön, sexualitet, ras/etnicitet och klass i filmerna. Detta är problematiskt då dessa framställningar är producerade för majoritetsbefolkningen, och dessutom använts i syfte att utbilda. De förväntningar människor från olika grupper i samhället har gentemot andra kan påverkas av dessa representationer. Där allt är upp och ner." : En nærlesning av betydningen av queert rom i Jonas Gardells romantrilogi Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar (2012–2013) Jørgensen, Camilla Finne January 2016 (has links) This thesis sets out to explore the lives of homosexuals in the AIDS epidemic in Sweden in Jonas Gardell´s trilogy Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar (Don´t Ever Dry Tears Without Gloves). How is queer space able to unfold in connection to concrete places? The thesis utilizes the perspective of queer theory, where the useful terms of queer space and heteronormativity are found. The analysis is divided into two parts based on the important themes of life and death found in the trilogy. The metal ring at the central station called Bögringen (The Gay Ring) and other public places such as parks and streets make up the first part. It becomes evident that these spaces are vital to the very existence of the homosexual lives of the men in the book-series. In these places, they are able to create their own (queer) space, which exists in parallel to the heteronormative surroundings. The concrete spaces that become these queer spaces are nevertheless often challenged by their surroundings, both verbally and physically. Funerals make up the second half of the analysis. Here, two opposite funerals are being looked closer at. These are the funerals of two of the most important men in the trilogy: Rasmus and Paul. In Rasmus´funeral, there is no room for anything (or anyone) that might be associated with homosexuality and AIDS – a queer lifestyle – at all, and the boyfriend and all the other friends of the deceased Rasmus are not welcome. Everything queer is banished. The other funeral, Paul´s funeral, celebrates everything that is different, and here, it is the heteronormative, conservative views and thoughts that are being pushed aside. This funeral brings hope (and power) to the queers. 4	Den queera hjälten : En komparativ queeranalys av hjältar i två fantasy serier Karlsson, Lisa January 2021 (has links) I den här uppsatsen undersöker jag Simon Snow från Carry On trilogin (2015–21) och Morrigan ”Mor” från A Court of Thorns and Roses serien (2015–). Huvudsyftet med studien är att undersöka hur dessa två karaktärers sexualitet och identitet fungerar i sina respektive fantasy serier, hur de gestaltas och om de får chansen att utvecklas. Med queerteoretisk utgångspunkt undersöker jag hur karaktärerna kommer ut och hur de lever sina liv efteråt, likaså hur deras sexualitet får en roll i deras respektive fantasy-värld. I min analys visar jag hur bisexualiteten ignoreras och hur båda karaktärerna har svårt att komma fram till vilken sexualitet som passar dem bäst. Mor har även en långsammare utveckling när det kommer till hennes sexualitet, och finner det svårare att våga komma ut. Simon och Mor är även olika som personer och i min analys visar jag på hur slutet av deras respektive berättelser blir annorlunda; Mor försvinner ur berättelsen nästan direkt efter att hon kommer ut, medan Simon blir mer bekväm i hans sexualitet och relation. / In this paper, I study Simon Snow from the Carry On trilogy (2015–21) and Morrigan, nicknamed Mor, from the book series A Court of Thorns and Roses (2015–). The main aim of this study is to examine how the two characters’ sexuality and identity work in their respective book series, how they are described and if they are allowed to develop. Using queer theory, I examine how the two characters come out and how they live their lives afterwards, as well as how sexuality work in a fantasy novel. As a result, I have discovered that the label of bisexuality is frowned upon, and that both characters have a hard time figuring themselves out in terms of what sexuality and identity they relate to the most. Mor also had a slower development when it comes to her sexuality and a bigger struggle with coming out to her friends in comparison to Simon. Mor and Simon have very different journeys with their sexuality and are at very different stages in their acceptance at the end of their respective stories. In Mor’s case, she left the story as soon as she came out to one person, whilst Simon became more confident in his sexuality and relationship. Rainbow Rowell Carry On Sarah J. 5	A Cishet Man’s Poland : Compulsory Heterosexuality in Polish Legislation on Reproductive and Sexual Rights Lodenius, Lina January 2022 (has links) This thesis analyzes how compulsory heterosexuality is present in Polish legislation on women* and trans* people’s reproductive and sexual rights. The aim of this study is to increase an understanding of how compulsory heterosexuality’s presence in legislation regarding reproductive and sexual rights can consequently affect women* and trans* people in practice. By the means of qualitative content analysis and the operationalization of compulsory heterosexuality through the lens of queer feminism, this thesis analyzes three Polish legislations on reproductive and sexual rights, namely the Constitution of Poland, the Family Planning, Human Embryo Protection and Conditions of Permissibility of Abortion Act, and the Family and Guardianship Code. Adrienne Rich’s theory of compulsory heterosexuality suggests that heterosexuality is not natural, but a violent institution enforced in society through e.g. law. This thesis found that compulsory heterosexuality was present in all three legislations, and presented itself through: erasure of women* and trans* people, denial of their sexuality, idealization of heterosexuality, rape and violence, control of their bodies, robbing of their children, punishment for being LGBTQIA+, diminishing their aspirations, restricting their self-fulfillment to parenthood and marriage, keeping them from seeking reproductive care, erasure of their traditions, objectification, and dismissive language. Possible consequences identified were: invalidation and invisibilization of queer and trans* people, increased oppression, the social norm being a negative bias against LGBTQIA+ people, criminalization of LGBTQIA+ people, more deaths at the hands of the law, more parentless children, making women* and trans* people question their body or intuition, and an increase in illegal unsafe abortions or abortion tourism.
