Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka den visuella gestaltningen av nostalgi i filmen The Great Gatsby (2013). Undersökningens primära teori är Roland Barthes bildsemiotik, vilket nyttjas i en kvalitativ bildanalys. Strävan ligger i att analysera regissören Baz Luhrmanns tillvägagångssätt att kreera bilder som stimulerar känslor och stämningar, i form av olika objekt och färgers samspel med varandra. Fenomenet som står i centrum, och som är kopplat till karaktären Jay Gatsbys känsloliv, är det gröna ljuset. Resultatet visar att ljuset fungerar likt en metafor, där det symboliserar Gatsbys konstruerade föreställning om sin förflutna kärlek, Daisy. Hans sätt att uppfatta symbolen förändras ju mer han umgås under nutid med sin förlorade romans, vilket gestaltas genom att föremålet samverkar med flertalet element likt vatten, dimma eller gråa färginslag. Detta skapar på så vis en djupare mening kring det gröna ljuset, som i förlängningen kopplar samman bildernas byggstenar till en nostalgi.

The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to examine why some women choose to wear high heels in their work environment, even though the shoes are uncomfortable according to some. The study also questions why women think other women choose to wear high heels, why they wear heels themselves and how the shoes effect the impression of the women by their surroundings. The methods used during the study were qualitative interviews of five women and literature studies. The material collected from the interviews were processed and analyzed from a feministic and a discourse perspective with a focus on communication through clothing and societies power systems between groups and norms. The study shows that the impression of the woman changes, depending on whether she wears high heels or not. The overall opinion among the interview respondents is that they like the impression the high heels give, but still choose not to use them due to different reasons. The majority of the respondents participating in the study express that they think it can be beneficial to use high heels and that there is a clear connection between societies’ power systems and the shoes. In the respondents’ work environments, the norm says that the women in the higher positions are those who primarily use high heels and that the staff lower down in the hierarchy prefer not to use high heels as it might annoy their bosses. Women who choose to wear high heels reflect both power and good self-esteem. With a higher heel the woman will appear as she has same height as her male colleague, which might give her the same authority and respect as the males.

In dieser Arbeit steht die Analyse des Schauplatzes Venedig im Abenteuerroman Herr der Diebe (2000) von Cornelia Funke im Mittelpunkt. Es wird aufgezeigt, wie das Setting die Stimmung sowie die Situation der Protagonisten spiegelt und welchen Einfluss dieses somit auf die Wirkung des Romans ausübt. Des Weiteren werden die kennzeichnenden Merkmale des Handlungsortes Venedig aufgezeigt, insbesondere die Topoider Stadt, ihr Mythos sowie ihre Bezüge zum Roman. Abschließend werden die Symboliken des geflügelten Löwen, des Mondes und des Meeres als Venedig-typische Elemente mittragender Aussagekraft analysiert. Es wird ferner die Hypothese aufgestellt, dass der Schauplatz Venedig eine still im Hintergrund agierende Protagonistin ist. / This work focuses on the analysis of Venice as a setting in the adventure story The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke. It is shown how the setting reflects the mood and the situation of the protagonists and what impact it has on the novel. Furthermore, the characteristic features of Venice are presented, like the topoi of the city, its myth, and its references to the novel. Finally, the symbolism of the winged lion, the moon and the sea are analyzed; these symbols are particularly related to Venice and thus have a significant meaning for the story. Moreover, it is hypothesized that Venice is acting like a silent protagonist in the background.

This study investigates the production of political meaning in the Scandinavian tradition of the dagsvers (newspaper poem), that is a particular kind of poetry published in daily newspapers, commenting on public debates and recent events. The dagsvers is a neglected literary genre in the history of Swedish literature. The often explicit political stance and message of the dagsvers separate this genre from many other forms of modern and contemporary poetry, and the present study focuses on this political dimension. I examine the uses of forms, themes and symbols in dagsvers published between 1949 and 2013 that give the poems their meaning and their political dimension. Furthermore, I analyse how the very newspaper medium contributes to and directs the interpretation of the poems. The main questions pertain to how context, such as the newspaper´s political agenda, and elements in the text create the meaning and function of the dagsvers. Analysing verse examples with the help of theories of Jacques Rancière and Lars Furuland, the study demonstrates how the context and the literary forms, themes and symbols impact the shape of the political dimension of the dagsvers.

Die Leitidee der vorliegenden Untersuchung besteht darin, das Phänomen der von Literatur und Kunst bis auf Populärkultur und Tourismus reichenden Inselfaszination mit Blick auf maßgebliche Denkfiguren und Codes des modernen Wissens zu analysieren. Anschließend an eine phänomenologische und strukturelle Ansicht inselhafter Räume wird im ersten Teil der Arbeit deren mythische, literarische und ikonographische Aneignung von der Antike bis in die Neuzeit schematisiert. Über topische Inhalte hinaus wird der Blick dabei auf eine Reihe formaler Eigenschaften gerichtet, die den Deutungsspielraum von Inselvorstellungen definieren. Der zweite Teil der Arbeit ist der Funktion imaginärer und symbolischer Inselbezüge im Zwischenraum der Entdeckung Tahitis und der romantischen Natur- und Kunstphilosophie gewidmet. Er zielt darauf, die Konstruktion eines modernen Wunschraums nachzuzeichnen, der die Insel als "symbolische Landschaft" an den Horizont eines äußersten Wissens und Genießens setzt. Über die Implementierung eines fiktionalen Inselglücks in Konzeptionen von Landschaft, Erleben, globaler Topographie und Geschichte hinaus geht es dabei um Auswirkungen auf ein modernes Verständnis von Natur, Kunst, Verlangen, Schöpfung und Autorschaft. Deren Beobachtung schlägt der Untersuchung schließlich die Brücke zu Rückkopplungen von Modernität, Primitivismus und Inselphantasien in Konzepten der Avantgarde. Der abschließende dritte Teil der Arbeit unternimmt es zu zeigen, daß die um 1900 vehemente Renaissance einer literarischen und künstlerischen Inselfaszination sowie die gleichzeitigen Artikulationen eines unbewußten oder unsagbaren "Anderen" einander als analoge Denkbewegungen korrespondieren. / The leading idea of this study lies in the analysis of the phenomenon of "Island Fascination", which reaches from literature over fine art to popular culture and tourism. This is done by looking at some of the essential concepts and codes of modern knowledge. A phenomenological and structural view of insular spaces is followed by an outline of their mythic, literary and iconographic interpretation from antiquity to modern times in the first part of the work. The look is directed beyond specific topic contents to a series of formal characteristics, which define the latitude of island interpretations. The second part of the work is concerned with the function of imaginary and symbolic island references between the discovery of Tahiti and the Romantic natural and art philosophy. It sketches the conctruction of a modern space of desire, which presents the island as a "symbolic landscape" at the horizon of a sphere of utmost knowledge and enjoyment. The work tackles the implementation of a fictional insular happiness in concepts of landscape, experience, global topography and history; and it deals with the effects of this topic on modern ideas of nature, art, desire, creation and authority. The analysis of such ideas leads to a closer examination of retroactions of modernity, primitivism and insular imaginations in concepts of the avant-garde. The final third part of the work intends to show that the vehement revival of literary and artistic insular fascination about 1900 corresponds to simultaneous articulations of an unconscious or unspeakable "other".

Bakgrunden behandlar forskning kring drama och symboler, cirkelns symboliska betydelse, drama som metod, fyra drampedagogiska perspektiv samt personlighetsutveckling genom drama. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten i undersökningen är fenomenologisk- hermeneutisk. Den metod som används är fokussamtal som åtta personer med erfarenhet av studier i drama och arbete med drama deltar i. Det empiriska materialet bearbetas med en fenomenlogisk analysmodell som är utarbetad av Pirjo Birgerstam. Genom att söka efter minsta gemensamma nämnare i materialet skapas teman från kärnor som kopplas ihop av betydelseenheter. I resultatet redovisas analysen med hjälp av ett nät med kärnor och teman, utdrag ur referatet som belyser olika teman samt en tabell.  Resultatet tolkas för att ge ökad förståelse samt sammanfattas i summeringen. De olika temana står för olika kvalitativt skilda aspekter av cirkelns betydelse i drama som relaterar till varandra och på så sätt ger en bild av cirkelns karaktär i drama. Genom analysen framträdde ett övergripande tema; dubbeltydighet. Metoden och resultatet belyses och granskas i diskussionen.</p></p>
