Hansson, Sven, Karlsson, Jeanette January 2006 (has links)
There are several big losses in sawmills that are not addressed by the traditional operation feedback systems. It is strategic significant for organizations to address the question what need to be done in order to bee more effective. This work discusses methods of measurement the effectiveness with respect to maintenance and how the effectiveness can be measured by assessing the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The work also emphasizes on maintenance strategies and the process of implementing such a policy in sawing mills. During a period of six days assessments of OEE were made in five different sawmills. The results were that OEE in general were about 50 percent, which is considered low. By implementing a cost-effective maintenance policy, it will lead to increase the value of OEE for the process. Using a policy that will decrease the overall costs related to the six big looses could do these. Discussions the production stoppages and how these can be analyzed by using different tools, such as Ishikawa diagram are addressed. The work highlights that a systematic improvement work would increase appreciably the capacity utilized without any large investments. This study also describes how sawmills can be successful when increasing their effectiveness by selecting a cost-effective maintenance policy for their process.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Glauco Roberto Pereira Silva.pdf: 1708203 bytes, checksum: ca08ce102b8eb3c727f8ce1f156f6daf (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-06-28 / The Brazilian manufacturing industries have faced stiff global competition from factories in Europe, USA and Asia, requiring the same monitoring crucial factors to remain competitive. In general, these companies have performance indicators considered key in comparison units. However, the academic literature in the context of maintenance costs, little has addressed specifically on the impact of the use of OEE - Overall Equipment Effectiveness, indicator used to measure the overall effectiveness of equipment and production systems - in reducing maintenance costs. This work questions the extent to which manufacturing companies in Brazil know the impact on the results of production systems, and more particularly about the cost of maintenance. It also presents the objective of understanding the understanding of business impacts on the TPM and OEE bring about the management of maintenance and the costs of this activity. To achieve this goal, we used an exploratory survey as a practical exemplification, illustrating the results of applying the proposed concepts in industrial maintenance activities in manufacturing companies. The aforementioned results demonstrated that both the TPM and the OEE bring effective contributions to increase productivity, quality and competitiveness, and reduce maintenance costs, and that most of the companies studied have clarity that.

The hypothesis of the research is that TPM is built as an antagonistic force, printing an opening from the standard model of femininity and the way of doing women s magazines. We rely on two methodological approaches: analysis of issues of the magazine and research with the reading audience. The analyzed corpus covers eight years of the magazine s history, totaling 86 editions, published from January 2007 to December 2014. The qualitative empirical research was carried using focal group discussion techinque and presential individual interviews, with ten participant readers. Both approaches culminate in a critical analysis of the visibility schemes proposed on the magazine s communication contract. The discursive dispute established by TPM magazine was designed from the discourse theory of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe. The steady discourse of women s magazines was set in the first chapter, by privileged signifiers romance, care, beauty, home life, independence, work and freedom. The second chapter maps in thematic blocks the research corpus. The discussions held by the readers are systematized in the third chapter, by the axies of expectations, frustrations and the relationship of love and hatred they establish with the magazine.

Propuesta para mejorar la disponibilidad de equipos en el sector construcción para una empresa de alquiler de máquinas pesadas / TPM Maintenance Management Model Focused on Reliability that Enables the Increase of the Availability of Heavy Equipment in the Construction Sector

Palomino Valles, Anthony Felipe, Tokumori Wong, Marcelo 23 October 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this paper is to present a maintenance study focused on total productive maintenance (TPM) and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM). Its approach is based on the first pillars of TPM, preventive and autonomous maintenance, as well as the FMEA analysis of RCM for maintenance analysis, which was conducted in this study. The implementation of TPM was successful in that various preventive maintenance (PM) policies assigned to the assets were implemented and it was demonstrated that TPM application in the construction industry could reduce the excessive accumulation of maintenance with the same effective optimization, and with support from RCM analysis and its heavy equipment systems analysis. Excessive corrective maintenance accounts for high investment and delay rates in work times of the assigned project. Traditional methods of availability guarantee, such as reactive or routine maintenance, are insufficient to satisfy a heavy equipment maintenance plan; therefore, what is called for is the systematic application of RCM and TMP because they allow the selection and application of effective PM tasks. An approach that develops and thoroughly analyzes the strategies of continuous corrective and PM is used with an atmosphere of uncertainty and with operational data limited by criticism. Results show a 90% improvement in availability. / Trabajo de Suficiencia Profesional
