It was aimed to examine how Heloneida inserted herself in the debates about women and gender relations in the period. My concerns were less a search to see if literate produces or reproduces stereotypical images of relations between women and men and more to understand the features that Heloneida made use and the main senses that wew used to construct such image well ajusted to the debates and categories that shaped her literary project, which was developing from both her subjective experiences, and from contacts that were made, namely: the house of Juvenal Galeno, the Communist Party, the feminist movement and the Brazilian Women Center. From this connection, subjective experiences and social places, theoretical formulations were born not only for her novels but also for her subsequent practical politics in favor of women.

The object of study consists in the investigation of psychosocial meanings in publicities directed to the feminine public that privilege the enterprise culture and the cult of velocity through sports and hedonistic consumerism activities as models of identity prescription. To do so, some aspects that allowed the emergence of scientific activity and the instrumental rationality as “spokesperson” and carrier of modernity were discussed but also as the establisher of a knowledge form legitimated in the name of progress at any cost, and because of that, a powerful mean of domination. With the intention of showing the means through which contemporaneous publicity is capable of producing subjectivity that may result in ideological domination and reproduction of consumerist behavior, part of this study was dedicated to the discussion on publicity, its function, social meaning and strategic forms of submitting human desire to the market logic. Critical Theory from Frankfurt School was adopted as the theoretical-methodological axis besides contemporaneous authors as Birman, Costa, Lipovetsky , Lasch, Ehremberg, Kehl, Severiano, Aquino, Soares, among others The empirical research was developed from the collection of publicity ads directed to the feminine public in Women’s Health and Você SA magazines between 2011 and 2013. Publicity ads that express appeal to the professional success through the exercise of multiple roles, to the sport as facilitator of high-level performances and to the consumerism as expression of happiness were selected .These themes constituted the categories of analysis: the discourse of happiness, enterprise and sport. A qualitative analysis of theoretical-critical nature was chosen as methodological strategy of the cited discourses enabling reflection on the merchandising of human attributes.

It is not difficult to realize the distinctions among the production contexts of these works, neither conclude that the first one is a fairy tale and the second, a modern novella. However, what most call the attention in the analyzed novellas is how the alterity relationships in both narratives develop and the highlight given to the feminine character. In order to better analyze these facts, it will be held a dialogue with the studies about the feminine, as well as about fairy tales like the ones by Ruth Silviano Brandão, Marisa Lajolo, Lygia Fagundes Telles, Maria Ângela D’incao, Maria Rita Kehl, among others who lingered on the analysis of the feminine imaginary and its affections; Bruno Bettelheim, Nelly Novaes Coelho, Noemi Paz, Marie-Louise Von Franz, Verena Kast and others who devote themselves to the fairy tales studies and the ones accomplished by Bachelard, Durand, Lacan, Focault, Heidegger and Antonio Candido about some philosophical, psychoanalytic and sociologic questions that may be discussed from the narratives in study.

By studying the History of Piauiense Feminine Education this research was focused on the History of the Confessional Catholic based on the theoretical-methodological references emanated of the Cultural History and the Historical Sociology – which were important once it was possible to use different historical sources such as (documental hemerographics iconographic and ex-students reports) – it was confirmed that under an apparent silence respect and maintenance of the present social configuration the schoolgirls of the Catholic Confessional Schools contributed without fuss and in a decisive way to the changes of the women´s position and social roles in the piauiense society – and for brazilian and northeastern extension – made known ways of insubordination produced strategies that sometimes discharged in the transformation (slow but progressive) of the social configuration In spite of these women had taken upon lots of alterations of the social roles, they haven´t untied the feminine´s “gifts” and “vocations” of the religiosity motherhood, sweetness, family and marriage still in their daily activities and as a result of the years of intelectual social and religious development acquired in the catholic confessional schools / Os Colégios Católicos tiveram participação decisiva no processo de reconfiguração dos papéis sociais, especialmente os femininos, porque apresentaram e representaram para as mulheres (mesmo para as que não fizeram parte de seu alunado) a possibilidade de uma formação intelectual e profissional que levou a ampliação e diversificação da inserção e atuação social destas, antes restrita ao ambiente doméstico e aos papéis de esposa e mãe.

Contribution à l'étude de l'art rupestre tassilien : à la recherche d'un sens à Ozan Ehéré (Tasîli-n-Ajjer, sahara central, Algérie) / Contribution in knowledge of tassilian rock art : seeking a meaning in Ozan Ehéré (Tasîli-n-Ajjer, Central Sahara, Algeria)

Mostefaï-Ithier, Amel 22 September 2014 (has links)
Considering the face of human representations and evoking particularly firm presuppositions on a world of masks and animism considered as strictly black - African, number of the authors who studied the rupestral images of central Sahara mixed up "culture" and " racial identity ", artistic canons and anthropological kind, establishing a chopped cultural History, which is not argued. In Ozan Ehéré, remarkable cases of relationships illustrated by scenes showing an anthropomorphic touching a zoomorphic invite to suggest a parallel between representations in style of the Round Heads and the bovidians images (styles of Séfar - Ozan Ehéré, of Abañher, Iheren), while these groups are considered generally independent one of the other one and divided up by typological concern. A first structural approach of the rock art of the zone finally allows us to open stimulating ways, for example about the nature of beings represented on walls (who may not be human beings and ordinary animals attending to some commonplace occupation), and drives us to wonder about the function of these images. According to their possible feminine dimension, some Round Heads paintings could be taken out from the file of enigmatic representations. We could also get bovidians images out from the world of ornamental paintings, or of the chronicle - without appeal to literal readings.

Maria das Graças Vieira 20 June 2010 (has links)
This research is an attempt to detect the true meaning and intention of Luke in the text that talks about Mary and Martha (Luke 10.38-42) and their connection with Jesus. I seek to analyze the situation of women in patriarchal society, their performance as they take care of the family and home and, at the same time, the audacity of the women who followed Jesus from Galilee to Jerusalem: how they served him, how they listened to him, how they risked their lives for him and assisted him up to the moment of his resurrection, spreading the news about the risen Lord. It is possible to perceive that, at all times, women have struggled for a decent life and gradually conquered their space and noticed that the human being, as a whole, needs reconciliation, female/male, recognizing the feminine values which were forgotten in androcentric societies. In various different contexts, many women began to participate actively in diverse movements, trade unions, grassroots communities, exercising a strong leadership, organizing biblical reflections and discovering that another world is possible.

The Image of the female body in the works of Assia Djebar

Labontu-Astier, Diana 20 September 2012 (has links)
As suggested in the works of Assia Djebar about the body of the woman excluding the cleavage of the flesh and soul and of the body and personality means a vision of a united body encompasses a broad duration and space. This body is constantly connected to the environment that influences it. This has broken its unity up. The thesis puts the emphasis on its continuity, resistance and even the survival of its identity, despite the factors or contexts that have harmed it. Before giving back to the female body its lost unity, we identified the key terms of body and personality through the humanities, while taking into account the specifics of these terms related to the Arab-Muslim identity, to the Berber characteristics and to the French influence. With this starting point, we do not fall into the conventional and strictly social categorizations of the Algerian woman. In order to highlight the fundamental unity of the feminine being, we started with its physical dimension. This is the first aspect that we view and that we can describe. But it goes beyond the appearances since, supported by the language and the imagination, it drives a reflexive dimension. The Djebarien female character transitions from the stage "have a body" to the stage of "being a body" with several dimensions: physical, psychological, intellectual, linguistic and imaginary (I). But that image of unity and harmony is faced with less favorable pictures that appeared because Islam moved away from its original doctrine as presented in the book “Far from Medina”, and the valuation of certain concepts such as honor, modesty and shame. Faced with the male authority that is exercised on the Algerian female body in every moment of life, and which results in confinement, humiliation, arrest to some very well-defined roles (such as mother and wife), orders, beatings, insults, etc.., the female body develops a “micro psychology” (M. Maffesoli) that is transmitted from generation to generation and provides built-in answers to various situations. All actions are impregnated with these, but that doesn't stop preventing the emergence of hidden traces of the female personality in very specific contexts. These traces highlight the cunning, the challenge and even the hatred of women to men, designated in the Algerian female imaginary by the term "e'dou" (enemy). These feelings reveal the strength of the female body made of a silent revolt expressed or debased by shouts, murmurs, attentive listening, a need to share and support each other.(II) So we have in front of our eyes a fragmented body, which has forgotten its qualities due to the internalization of these symbolic prisons. But thanks to the female solidarity, the appreciation of the house as a place to cocoon, the relationships between women, and the return to the first language, the traces of the distant past are renewed by the actions and words of some free women. These pave the way for the release of the Algerian female body that will learn again to watch, to walk outside, to reminisce, to talk about itself and to appreciate the presence of the beloved man. (III) The analysis of body parts visible in our corpus, the feminine posture, the gestures in which the tradition is recorded, the reactions that reveal both the physical and psychic dimension, the terms used by Djebar to talk about his feminine characters, allowed us to reveal a female body with a heart, memories, feelings, personalities and roles that are outside the framework imposed by the society. The female body able to make gestures, which falls within the time and space reclaimed, acquires a performative speech which, in turn, recreates and provides it with the opportunity to perform, while maintaining contact with the origins and the "living word". So we see a body and an identity shifting, constantly trying to form and to write.

Abstract: This proposition tries to disclose on the collection Las Mujeres Españolas, Portuguesas y Americanas, a publication composed by three tomes of texts which discuss the territorial spaces in Spain, America and Portugal and by lithographs - separately sold -, produced in Spain during the 1870 decade, using the feminine symbology to represent those spaces. This work consists of, at the same time, origin and object of this research. This treatise starts with the hypothesis that this collection has a political meaning and happens to have a material production which builds a symbolical representation of the Spanish national characteristics, elaborating a "self-speech" about itself, perceptible on the entirety of its conception, production and composition. It was introduced on the second half of the XVIII century, under the roots of the Romanticism and molded by the costumbrista esthetics - gender that distinguished itself by describing the social models, habits, uses and traditions. From the feminine themes, the treatise starts from the pretext that the use of idealized images of women were used to reach the social imaginary of what they represented - love, submission, honor, fecundity, education, self-denial - and also as symbols of the new social types that emerged in the national spaces that appeared in the face of the European transformations. The hispanism, ideological speech based on the common experiences and on the Spanish spirits, pierced all the collection, and this treatise supports the hypothesis that it not only countersigned, but built and spread this ideas. And, last but not least, defended that both textual language and iconography placed and emphasized the elements which built the Spanish societies, revealing origins, tradition, peculiarities and singularities of this people - under the feminine sign- that alluded to the a set of problems of the Spanish national character. / Doutor

Kassman, Elsa, Sjölund, Linn January 2018 (has links)
In this essay, we have unpacked four different levels (the role of women as: a) a part of game history, b) design process, c) characters of the game and d) users) to get a better understanding of the users choice of characters in the popular fighting game Tekken 7.   We have examined the role of women as part of the game’s history and design-process to gain a deeper understanding into the background of the game’s designing process. We have interviewed users with qualitative methods and used analysis strategies such as semiotic analysis and thematic analysis.   The results of our analysis show that users choose their characters based on visual attributes and that they imagine the characters as being an extension of themselves. Users apprehend the characters as stereotypical and thereby reproduce gender-related norms. The process of picking a character to play with is difficult for some of the users - There is a difference between female and male users due to stereotypical visual attributes of the characters which means that it is more problematic for female users to identify themselves with many of the characters. This is affecting the female users experience in a negative way.
