Roda de saberes: reflexões sobre educação permanente em saúde e seus processos de apoio / \"Wheel of knowledge\": reflections on a device for permanent health education and support processes

Felipe Gargantini Cardarelli 30 May 2016 (has links)
The objective is to reflect on the story of a Permanent Education device built in the Health Companion for People with Disability Program (APD), called Knowledge Wheel. The APD program was created by the City Department of Health of São Paulo (SMS) in 2010, with twenty multidisciplinary teams distributed by the county, through exclusive partnership, until 2014, with the Family Health Association, a Social Organization, meaning an institution identified with social purposes. The goal of the Program is to stimulate autonomy, improve care and strengthen family ties of people with intellectual disabilities. Permanent Education is learning, significantly, through work, where learning and teaching are incorporated into the daily life of organizations. This researcher was hired to oversee eight teams of the Program, and as so, sought to base his interventions in democratic management to promote them and facilitate interdisciplinary teamwork. The Knowledge Wheel was born of this effort inspired by French experiences of clubs from the Clinic of La Borde and Saint-Alban, the principles of the Paideia Support of Gastão Wagner Campos and the Permanent Education that is the meaningful learning through work, where learning and teaching are incorporated into the daily management of organizations. In this sense, with this dissertation, it was intended research and reflect on the theoretical foundations and on the history of Knowledge Wheel and thus encourages other processes of Permanent Education. For that was developed a case study which purpose was to analyze the ideation and development of the proposal of the Knowledge Wheel through different approaches: 1. Bibliographical Survey; 2 Survey and analysis of documents and records; 3- Identification of facilitators principles for its construction. The conclusion is the need for actions in Permanent Health Education based on the effectiveness of the actions developed in the Knowledge Wheel, observed through the quality and intensity of the participation of professionals in the meetings and changing the daily work of the profile of health teams. It is also considered that the method and the purpose of the action must be ethically aligned. As a product of this analysis it is proposed a brochure aimed to instigate those interested in Permanent Health Education, to reflect on the facilitating processes of this action in service in five aspects or strategic factors, the result of the research: territory, target group, workers, institution and Supporter.

Matriciamento na atenção primária à saúde: o trabalho do psicólogo no NASF no município de São Paulo / Matrix support in primary health care: the psychologists working in NASF in São Paulo

Ana Paula Klein 30 November 2015 (has links)
In order to strengthen Family Health Program and increase its effectiveness, the Family Health Team Supporter (NASF) was created. This team uses the Matrix Support methods which allow the exchange of knowledge between different kinds of professional. This study aimed to analyze the establishment and practice of the mental health Matrix Support activities to the teams from the Family Health Teams (EqSF), which was conducted by psychologists working in the NASF in the city São Paulo in Brazil. Qualitative methodology was used, and content analysis was done in thematic style. Fifteen semi-structured interviews were conducted with psychologists who work in different regions of the city of São Paulo. The exchange of knowledge and training appeared as the main takeaways regarding the concept of Matrix Support. The practice revealed a number of difficulties. There was a significant tension over who was responsible for the assistance, teamwork difficulties, imbalance of power between specialists and Family Health professionals, unequal division of labor. With respect to this last point, EqSF is responsible for direct assistance to the population with NASF being responsible for training and supervision. Additionally, another difficulty was that the organizing of work was not chosen according to the regional health needs and specific cases in that territory. Next, there was devaluation of the core knowledge over the field. There were a failure to establish parameters of what knowledge and practice is common to all, and what is specific to each professional. Lack of resources overburdened the primary health care (APS) with an excess of demand for the contingent of professionals available. In addition, the study identified a weak and poorly coordinated management. Despite the difficulties encountered, psychologists contributed to the Matrix Support with an amplified vision of the following: recognition of subjectivity implied in the process of health and sickness, intrapersonal and family dynamics, identification of emotional aspects, importance of listening without judgment and decrease stigma of mental disorders. To be effective, Matrix Support needs to recognize which aspects concern the field of APS that are common to all and which are the specific competencies under the responsibility of the cores team of the support professionals, contributing to more horizontal encounters and a more democratic and collaborative division of labour, in addition to the expansion of resources to build a comprehensive and integral APS

Research that aimed to reflect about the process of teamwork of the Family Health Strategy (SF) in the city of Barra Mansa-RJ, identify the strategies used by SF teams in their working process and analyze the technologies employed by teams in their working process. This is a qualitative and descriptive case study, which was conducted with two teams of family health in the city of Barra Mansa-RJ. The ethical aspects were respected, according to resolution 196/96. Data collection was through individual open interviews, group interviews, and descriptive observation. The study is based on tracer methodology. For data analysis was used thematic analysis with data categorization. The categories found were: "The working process of teams: focus on technologies of care", "Teamwork: between approximation and distance," and "The vertical integration of care and personal autonomy revoked." After reviewing the interviews it was found that the professionals have difficulty in modifying health practices, and base their activities on hard and soft-hard technologies, valuing the use of equipment, but there is openness to incorporate other practices and use soft technologies. The interviewed professionals tend to guide patients in a vertical structure, the interaction between team members occurs in a hierarchical way and teamwork is largely organized as a team grouping. There are different conformations of the teams, but the work’s center is on the professional, not on the user. In short-term investing in continuing education for professionals who were trained under other logic, focus on the hospital care and biologist, can be a way to facilitate the execution of other ways to produce health care.

A training programme in the DSM system for social workers

Olckers, Catharina Johanna 14 June 2013 (has links)
The lack of a scope of practice for social workers in South Africa, and with that their right to do mental health diagnoses or even work with mental health clients, has led to conflict. There is not yet a clear agreement between the role players within South Africa, such as the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) and South African Association of Social Workers in Private Practice (SAASWIPP). From the initial investigation, it became clear however that social workers in South Africa are often using the DSM system without training. One of the main concepts, namely ‘clinical social work’, is well defined in international literature. However, very little literature could be found within the South African context pertaining to who is qualified to be a clinical social worker or a social worker with the right to diagnose. This has caused some conflict on a practical level among social workers and ‘clinical’ social workers when operating in the field of mental health since the perception exists that some social workers overstep their boundaries or scope of practice. The research problem was formulated, based on social workers admitting that they are using the DSM system, regardless of their training or lack of training in the DSM system. Social workers do not receive sufficient training in mental health diagnostic systems in undergraduate training. The purpose of this study was to develop, implement and pilot test a programme to train social workers in the utilization of an accredited diagnostic system, namely the DSM system, when dealing with individuals who present with a specific disorder. The hypothesis that directed this research indicated that social workers, who receive formal training in the utilization of the DSM system, would be equipped with knowledge and insight with regard to the mental health of their clients. This could enhance the profession, since social workers would be able to participate in the multi-professional team with insight with regard to mental health terminology and pathology. A combined quantitative/qualitative research approach was followed, more specifically applied intervention research since the aim of the study was to contribute towards addressing a practical issue. The research objectives were to complete a literature study regarding social workers’ assessment in the context of the DSM system; to explore social workers’ knowledge, attitude, and utilization of the DSM system; to develop a training programme and train social workers in the utilization of the DSM; to implement the developed training programme for social workers in the utilization of the DSM; to pilot test the effectiveness and content of the training programme; and to draw conclusions and make recommendations with regard to the benefit for the social work profession as well as to multi-professional teamwork, should social workers receive training programme in the DSM system. The researcher collected data while the respondents attended a two-day training programme in the DSM system. Respondents completed a pre-test questionnaire as well as a post-test questionnaire on completion of the training programme. This data analysis was based on a quasi-experimental design, namely the ‘one-group pre-test-post-test design’. Conclusions and recommendations were made relating to social work training, social work in mental health and the DSM utilization in social work practice. The limitations of this study were the lack of literature, the need for training over a longer period, and especially the uncertainties regarding a nationally accepted scope of practice for social workers. The need for in-depth evaluation and advanced development of the programme is identified as both a limitation and a recommendation for future research. / Thesis (DPhil)--University of Pretoria, 2013. / Social Work and Criminology / unrestricted

The united health promoting work : A study on how the health promotion work can be strengthened through collaborationbetween the pupil health team and the leisure time centre

Duran, Denise, Ottosson, Julia January 2020 (has links)

In my perspective, Special Education becomes Normal Pedagogy" : Professionals in Student Health Teams give their views on what is important in the work of creating accessible learning environments for pupils with neuropsychiatric disabilities

Engå, Jenny January 2019 (has links)
There are various health promotion and preventive measures that can be done in schools. Creating accessible learning environments is such a way. In this qualitative study interviews are made with professionals in School Health Teams on what they think is important in the process of creating accessible learning environments for pupils with neuropsychiatric disorders. The results show that the different perspectives as well as the way in which the different professionals work in Student Health Teams affect the orientation of the work in Student Health Teams. It affects whether the efforts become general or individual and whether they become promotion, prevention or remedial action. The Lundin model - the pyramid of change (2017) that describes a possible way of running an accessibility work has proved to be partly in line with the informants' percep-tions. I have revised the model to include the National Agency for Education's definition of ac-cessible learning environments that also include socially and educationally accessible learning environment. The results show the need to raise the level of knowledge of the staff and the need to work with their core values because they affect the way the teachers treat pupils, and the op-portunities to make the school more accessible physically, pedagogically and socially. The study also shows practical examples of ways of making the learning environment accessible and that efforts that are good for students with neuropsychiatric disorders are good for all students. Suc-cessful perspectives for the work with accessible learning environments have proven to be a re-lational perspective and a salutogenic perspective. What all occupational groups emphasized was the importance of relationships and creating structure and comprehensibility for students with neuropsychiatric disorders, as well as for all other pupils. The empirical material is grouped under three themes: Awareness and approach, Accessible learning environments - in practice and Di-lemmas and governance. These themes also show that the revised model also needs to include dynamic aspects of change work as well as dilemmas and governance. The result also shows the need to obtain views from more types of informants such as pupils, teachers, principals and other staff.

Integrated school health implementation constraints: an inquiry into the Ekurhuleni Health and Education system

Mojapelo, Nonhlanhla 10 1900 (has links)
This study identifies the Integrated School Health Programme’s implementation constraints in (Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Southern Region), and describes how these constraints have affected the implementation of school health services. This predominantly qualitative study employed the structured interview-based research design and focus group discussion approaches, with the target population consisting of school health nurses and educators working with them in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Southern Region. The criterion-referenced sampling strategy was opted for, because of the researcher’s knowledge of the research environment. The focus group discussions, structured interviews and participant observations complement the study’s data collection methods. The principal findings depicted the Integrated School Health Programme was not as effective as expected in its implementation. The main constraints were identified as lack of resources and knowledge; and poor teamwork of the Department of Health, the Department of Basic Education, and parents. Emanating from these findings, the study recommends innovative collaboration mechanisms between the two government departments, and that relevant and sufficient resources should be allocated for effectively implementing the Integrated School Health Programme.

Englund, Helene January 2020 (has links)
Success in school is the most important factor for success in life, and it is even more important for students with an ADHD-diagnosis, since they are in more danger of developing a negative spiral in life. Education has a compensatory duty and teachers in special education can be an important part in helping to create an integrated and meaningful learning environment for students with an ADHD-diagnosis. The work with the student health team within a school demands a high degree of cooperation between different internal and external players. BUP (child and adolescent psychiatry), which provides specialist care for children with mental health problems, is one of these players. The intention of this paper is to illustrate the personnel’s descriptions of not only the factors for success but the challenges as well, when it comes to the cooperation between the school´s student health team and BUP´s work to support students with the ADHD-diagnosis with their development and their learning. This qualitative study is based on interviews with personnel from these different arenas. The interviews where made with both focus groups, as well as semi structured interviews. The interviews where transcribed and compiled based on the intentions of this study. The selection was targeted and made according to the comfort principle. The informants from the student health team worked in a rural municipality, while the participants from BUP where based in a nearby city, but worked with the informants from the student health team. The result of the study shows that the school, as well as, BUP believes that cooperation and collaboration between these different arenas are important and necessary. The main challenges seem to be the lack of a defined framework that specifies how the cooperation should work as well as confusion about the responsibilities of the different professions. The long wait to BUP is also a cause for concern while striving for cooperation. The study also showed that cooperation within rural municipalities involves complicating circumstances. The result indicates that more clearly defined frameworks for cooperation should be developed and that all concerned personnel should be involved.

Skolsköterskors erfarenheter av att arbeta med elever som har en problematisk skolfrånvaro / School nurses' experiences of working with students who have a problematic school absence

Thurén, Jenny January 2022 (has links)
Background: The proportion of students with problematic school absenteeism is increasing, and in step with this, the demand for increased competence is increasing as to how the school can work back these students. In this work, the student health professions, including the role of the school nurse, are an important part. Aim: Aim is to describe school nurses´ experiences of working with students who have problematic school absence. Method: The data material was collected through a survey and 19 school nurses answered the questionnaire. An inductive approach was chosen where the data material was analyzed with qualitative content analysis. Results: From the data material, the theme of securing mutual trust emerged, three categories; hired as a specialist competence, easily accessible and familiar with the situation, coordinating link and six subcategories. Conclusion: The school nurses experience that they are rarely involved, neither in the prevention nor in the direct work, with students who have a problematic school absence in addition to being informed via the student health team. School nurses are involved in the work if there is a physical or mental reason for the absence.

Vybrané faktory duševního zdraví jako prediktor psychologického kapitálu zaměstnanců v době Covid-19 / Selected factors of mental health as a predictor of employees' psychological capital in times of Covid-19

Havelková, Jana January 2022 (has links)
The diploma thesis focuses on the possibilities of predicting employees' psychological capital in times of Covid-19. The theoretical part describes psychological capital (its structure, importance in the context of work environment and methods of its measurement and development). It also deals with mental health in the workplace and with selected factors of mental health (team social support, engagement, stress, qualitative and quantitative job insecurity). The empirical part of the thesis aims to verify whether selected factors of mental health can be evaluated as significant predictors of psychological capital. The research sample includes 127 employees of the business organization. The following methods were used to measure the analyzed variables: Psychological Capital Questionnaire - 12 (PCQ-12), The Team Performance Inventory (TPI - only the items "Trust, safety and support" of subscale "Participation"), Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES), Perceived Stress Scale - 10 (PSS- 10), Qualitative Job Insecurity Scale (QUAL-JIS) and Job Insecurity Scale (JIS). The results of multiple linear regression analysis show that in our study subjectively perceived level of stress (ß = -.4078, 95% CI = [-.6006, -.215], p < .001) is the strongest predictor of psychological capital. The analysis further shows...
