Previous issue date: 2005-06-23 / This research has as main subject teachers who alphabetize youngsters and adults involved in a NGO located at the Cotia District and it is focused on representations that these teachers build regarding the illiterate, with whom they relate on a teaching-learning context. These teachers, to become instructors, complete a structured training program.
The first part of this dissertation presents a historical development of adult education in Brazil, up to today. The understanding of the illiterate is remotely associated to a feeling of national shame (encompassing the periods of Colony, First and Second Republics), continuing to a more political conception up to the notion of oppressed with a vocation to Be More (movement for basic education / Paulo Freire), next being linked to a conception of literacy that is empty of critic sense (MOBRAL), reaching what is today viewed as the functional illiteracy. It is highlighted the value given to the quantitative aspects of the programs to eliminate illiteracy.
The second part analyses the adopted theoretical and methodological approaches. They include the theory of social representations which, through a psychosociological approach, demonstrates how scientific theories are being incorporated in the intersubjectives relations comprised of social network. These in turn produce other types of theories, known as of common sense , used for communication and behavior construction.
Aiming at opening and reviewing the concepts of the illiterate by the teachers alphabetizers of adults who are working at the same institutional premises, procedures to analyze contents were used, with pre established categories, together with the application of questionnaires and the use of words stemmed by the keyword illiterate adult .
Data analysis demonstrated that an illiterate concept made up by central elements such as: the one who ignores, presents handicaps, and cannot read the world and by peripheral elements such as: by exclusion, lack of opportunity and initiative, possessing attributes and experience , indicated a background of conceptions of world and education, to a great extent, divergent from those which are the basis for the training of these educator / Tomando por sujeitos professores alfabetizadores de jovens e adultos de uma mesma ONG no município de Cotia, a presente pesquisa enfoca as representações que estes constroem a respeito do analfabeto, com quem se relacionam em situação de ensino-aprendizagem.

The research aims to understand how happen pedagogical practices in the teaching of art in
Youngsters and Adults Education at the Center for Youngsters and Adults Antônio Cesário de
Figueiredo Neto in Cuiabá, state of Mato Grosso. Methodological procedure was to
qualitative research, descriptive and interpretative character. Were used as techniques and
tools for data collection and analysis of the interviews with the research subjects - art
professor and twenty students in your class EJA - direct observation in CEJA researched and
document analysis with regard to the Political Pedagogical Project school planning and
classroom teacher. During the lessons of Art teacher could observe that their teaching
practices developed with the class of Youngsters and Adults Education were based almost
Proposta Triangular for art education. Students were able to produce significant works of art
and very contemporary, which contributed to that might know a little more of the artistic
universe - quite unknown to most of them - and also to broaden their aesthetic experience.
The youth and adult education builds knowledge through doing. The teacher has the main
mediator to produce this knowledge and mobilize the student's desire to learn. It is important
to eliminate the "distance" between the art seen as "elite" youth and adult education, socially
constructed and very present today. It is necessary that both the school and the teacher are
important mediators in the construction of knowledge in the student art process. But for this it
is necessary that the student has access to cultural venues such as museums of art through
educational actions of visits to these places, the teacher seeks to contribute to the process of
teaching and learning in art student through reading of doing and reflecting on art, so that
your classes are not mere "school activities", because I think that classes like these just adds
sadly, that the discipline of art is increasingly seen as "alternative knowledge" of "less
importance" in the school curriculum, losing its value. The teacher is a "trainer", responsible
for this formation process of learning on the student. So, I understand that the teacher art
sought to mediate the production of knowledge in art at youngsters and adults, but understand
that their practices could further contribute to the learning of youngster and adult education, to
avoid addressing contents of art that were closer to be "school activities". In experimenting
and experiencing the artistic process, knowing through art culture and history not only of its
surroundings, but also from other locations, youth and adult education will better understand
the art produced in other people as well as other artists, other stories, other knowledge,
fundamental so that they can expand their conceptions of art and the knowledge produced
about the different artistic manifestations built in art classes, important and central to its
aesthetic education.

Jovens e Adultos em Processo de Alfabetização: voz e vida, revelações e expectativas / Youngsters and Adults in the Literacy Process: voice and life, revelations and expectationsInez Helena Muniz Garcia 02 July 2004 (has links)
This essay has an objective to investigate the reasons why nine young guys and adults formally started their studies or just restarted it. Taking as a theoreticalmethodological references Bakhtin, Dias and Ginzburg, among other authors, searching for the comprehension of these guys life histories, better saying, to listen to their voices, to beyond of a point-of-view demanded by the official speech, which considers the illiteracy as something bad that should be cut in the beginning. We discuss the literacy concepts, besides the way to learn to read and write, that matters for the research, based mainly on Soares, Kleiman and Goulart. The study is carried out in a qualitative character: the empirical material was collected by the conversations, questionnaires,
speech/narrative produced in situation of a focal group. The meaning of the literacy/educational background were categorized from a dialogue with Melo, searching for a inclusive listening of the priorities pointed out by the formal primary learners. The literacy components argued into Tolchinsky bases, showed us the necessities of the
primary learners in the literacy process which considers the reality in which they live and also their requests for the several social practices from reading and writing matters.

January 2006 (has links)
Em seguida, enfocamos cada dimensão da relação realidade-homem-sociedade, percorrendo um caminho fenomenológico-hermenêutico...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The present study was aimed at understanding and interpreting the perceptions and meanings of the experiences lived by youngsters and adults in the process of learning how to read and write. With this study we wish to enable the professionals who work with Popular Education, among others the Social Workers, to reinsert new or renewed paradigms, focuses and perspectives in the approach of the socialization processes implied in popular work, especially in what concerns the Education of Youngsters and Adults. Brazil is still one of the most backward countries in matter of education, boasting the shameful figure of about 15% of illiterates among the adult population over 15, where the illiterate does not live along the civilization and cannot progress at work or evolve socially. Aimed at understanding and interpreting Paulo Freire's dialogic in the education of youngsters and adults, we sought in the hermeneutical phenomenology a research design which fulfilled the specificity of our subject. In the first interview, twenty accounts of students learning how to read and write delivered at the registration in the Course were listened to and, in the second interview, nineteen accounts made at the end of the course triggered by the leading question: what is it to be literate? These accounts, once submitted to phenomenological analysis, yielded the following categories: first interview - "experiencing exclusion situations", "learning how to read and write from the reality experienced", "overcoming the current life conditions"; second interview - "participating in the knowledge building process", "being recognized as a subject and not an object of a social practice", "becoming aware of the reality and its possibilities". Afterwards, we approached each dimension of the reality-man-society relation along a phenomenological-hermeneutical...(Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Doutor

For those who entered at school when they are children and get out before to conclude their studies, the challenge is conventional written, indispensable recourse to their effective participation as citizens of lettered world. Nevertheless, the challenge is not just about the register. It is necessary to write orthographically. These categories are similar to the ones found in the texts of children and competing letters took the first place in number of occurrence followed by support in oral speech (23,6%). Of 11 students, 06 (54,5%) succeed verbalize knowledgements about orthography and 45% of them do not have constant practice in reading, that is believed, it does not favour a letter orthographic improve. Besides that, the research showed that, even students who make many deflections, succeed in express in a verbal way the infringed standard and correct themselves / Vencer o desafio de registrar tudo o que se diz utilizando caracteres gráficos é o ideal da maioria dos jovens e adultos que, por nunca terem estudado, ingressam na escola para aprender a ler e escrever.

Previous issue date: 2007-07-23 / Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos / This work integrates the research line Social Practices and Educational
Processes that includes the education as a wide process, not restricted to the school world.
Claiming such comprehension was of fundamental importance to this research, once it
searched understand the richness of the human beings existential experiences, inserting the
most different social practices. Paulo Freire, one of the main references of the research line
and the main of this work, attributed to experience a great educational potential, being the
place of construction of the knowledge of the done experience . Approaching the theme
meant dealing with questions that require an attentive look, given the disqualification done in
the modern societies of the experiences of certain individuals, groups and nations. That s why
it s necessary to recognize the need of showing the worth of the knowledge along that was
unfairly marginalized. This study is not about despising school education role due to the fact
education is understandable as a wide process, but to reflect about its function and the
possibility of relation with the existential experience of the learners.
The research is dedicated to the investigation of the relation between
experiences concepts and education in Paulo Freire s works, having as objectives identify in
the author s documents such concepts and the relation between them, as well as verify the
world reading learners of Youngsters and Adults Education have about such constructed
concepts in a experienced way. So it was carried out a review of the authors works that
helped in the comprehension of their thought. Besides, I inserted myself and participated,
while researcher, in Youngsters and Adults Education (EJA), term II, equivalent to 3º and 4º
grade of fundamental teaching in order to enlarge the comprehension of concepts adding also
the book reading to the existential source during three months, I inserted myself in a
Youngsters and Adults Education classroom, participating in twenty two meetings writing a
field, as well as, carrying out interviews with five learners and a forum video of techniques
collection that belong to Communicative Investigation Methodology. From these procedures
on, the participants world readings could be revealed to me about experience, education and
school education leading me to understand better such concepts in the Paulo Freire s works,
as well as, the relation between them. The knowledge of the done experience showed me in
the study as a synthesis of the meeting between experience and education, demanding,
however, dialogue for the construction of a comprehension criticism about the reality.
Therefore, we understand the main contribution of the present work for Education, Teaching
Methodology and Youngsters and Adults Education is the statement of the respect to
mistakenly link between experience and the women and men, adults and youngsters education
get involved without forgetting the intention and the dialogue that are fundamental to become
criticism and independent.
Ademais, inseri-me e

Previous issue date: 2014-11-17 / Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos / The history of our country has shown conflicts over land distribution within a context of social inequality and neglect of the public policies. The production in the area of special education that treats people with disabilities living in the countryside is scanty; although legislation guarantees this legitimate right and the official data indicate the existence of such population. Furthermore, the illiteracy rate is high in our country. If we associate the condition of the disabled youngsters and adults living in rural areas, the situation becomes more alarming. Historically, social movements have played significant actions in our country, such as the claim for public policies to eliminate or reduce illiteracy for those who had no access and permanence during school age. It was created in the countryside the National Education Program in Agrarian Reform (PRONERA) which presents for Adolescents and Adults (EJA) a project developed in partnership with higher education institutions and the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA). Recently, the state of São Paulo, PRONERA has set a partnership with the Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (UNIMEP), the INCRA and the Organization of Women Settled and Quilombolas of the State of São Paulo (OMAQUESP) in order to develop the EJA project. Thus, the aim of this study was to analyze the educational status of the young adults with disabilities in the countryside. The specific objectives were: analyze the interfaces, Special Education, EJA and the Countryside education, social indicators, within legislation and in academic research; analyze the history of special education, adult education and the Countryside Education to understand the difficulties encountered in the process of education of the disabled, illiterate population who live in rural areas; analyze the history and structure of PRONERA, with particular reference to the EJA; analyze under the focus of special education the organization of an EJA school project from PRONERA developed in two settlements in São Paulo. The study was based on critical pedagogy and its principles. The methodological procedures were guided in: 1) collection and analysis of social indicators, especially the school census, the academic literature and legislation; 2) historical analysis of special need education, adult education, the Countryside Education; 3) document analysis of PRONERA, the initial design and the EJA project report conducted in the state of Sao Paulo; 4) interviews with members of the settlements and people who participated in the project of the EJA from PRONERA. The results showed that despite the legislation and social indicators reveal the interface, there is no academic research on young and disabled adults who live and study in the countryside. Once the story of these three themes is marked by the social exclusion organized into targeted policies such as PRONERA, that intending to correct the process of exclusion of the rural population, makes a mistake in silencing over the educational issues involving students with special educational needs. Thus, relating the settlements, the EJA is developed in precarious conditions; therefore, it does not provide specialized educational services to young people and disabled adults who are getting this type of education in the settlements. It is hoped that this study may support the debate over the right to education for all students and promote the knowledge production about the actual living conditions of people with disabilities living in the countryside.

Previous issue date: 2008-02-22 / The following dissertation has as its main advantage the privilege of visualizing the literacy processes through the angle of the functional perspective, which does not see the literary process as a practice solely based on the decoding of alphabetical codes, and then allows for the opening of ample spaces for the allocation of mathematical skills in the realms of the functional literacy. The main object of this study was to investigate which are the contributions that a sequence of activities and of methodologies developed for the teaching of Geometry could provide for a part of the functional literacy process in mathematics of youngsters and adults of EJA, corresponding to the acquisition or to the improvement of skills related to the orientation capacity. The focus of the analyses consisted in the practice of these activities with the young and adult students of an EJA class belonging to a municipal public school of Natal/RN. The legacies of Paulo Freire about the redimensioning of the role of the teacher, of the students, of the knowledge and of their connections within the teaching-learning process, prevailed in the actions of the methodology implemented in the classroom and, especially, in the establishing of dialogic connections with the students, which directed all the observations and analyses regarding the collected information. The results indicated that the composition of articulations between the teaching of mathematics and the exploration of maps and the earth globe enabled the creation of multidisciplinary learning environments and situations, where we could observe, gradually, the development of procedures and attitudes indicating the evolution of space-visual type skills / A disserta??o que se apresenta tem como pressuposto principal a prerrogativa de visualizar os processos de alfabetiza??o sob o ?ngulo da perspectiva funcional, fato que destitui o alfabetismo de ser uma pr?tica unicamente vinculada ? decodifica??o de c?digos alfab?ticos e permite a abertura de amplos espa?os para a aloca??o de habilidades matem?ticas nos dom?nios da alfabetiza??o funcional.

Youngsters and Adults (PROEJA) Technical Professional Education Ensino M?dio has
opened a new chapter in the history of education in Brazil, making possible the integration of
basic education and professional education. This new form of education, which is still in its
early implementation, presents a series of challenges to be overcome. Specifically about the
teaching of Chemistry, didactic material to match PROEJA s specific needs is practically
inexistent. Thus, this work has the purpose of developing didactic material for the teaching of
Chemistry for Professional and Technological Education of Youngsters and Adults in the
courses of Electronics, Technical Electronics and Maintenance and Support for Computing at
Instituto Federal de Educa??o,Ci?ncia e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte. This material

The present study was aimed at understanding and interpreting the perceptions and meanings of the experiences lived by youngsters and adults in the process of learning how to read and write. Aimed at understanding and interpreting Paulo Freire’s dialogic in the education of youngsters and adults, we sought in the hermeneutical phenomenology a research design which fulfilled the specificity of our subject. In the first interview, twenty accounts of students learning how to read and write delivered at the registration in the Course were listened to and, in the second interview, nineteen accounts made at the end of the course triggered by the leading question: what is it to be literate? These accounts, once submitted to phenomenological analysis, yielded the following categories: first interview – “experiencing exclusion situations”, “learning how to read and write from the reality experienced”, “overcoming the current life conditions”; second interview – “participating in the knowledge building process”, “being recognized as a subject and not an object of a social practice”, “becoming aware of the reality and its possibilities”. Afterwards, we approached each dimension of the reality-man-society relation along a phenomenological-hermeneutical...(Complete abstract click electronic access below)
