O Pré-Figurativo: diferenciações de um liame musical / The Pré-Figurative: differentiation of a musical bond

Pedro de Albuquerque Araújo 19 May 2010 (has links)
We work here with the notion of bond, composed by the meeting of two conceptual nets: the pre-figurative method of music education, by Hans-Joachim Koellreutter, and the thinking without an image, by Gilles Deleuze. These concepts are taken as multiplicities, one being constituted by the other and vice versa. In the case of pre-figurative, we have a method that does not use previous models and because that takes thinking as becoming; and thinking without an image is a deterritorialising movement designing something that still does not exist but that can exist. That characterized an area neighborhood, a kind of roof, or a tone (in a musical sense), like a concrete roof, in which the tiles to recover only in parts the existence in the other and for the other simultaneously, which allows it to be said of a becoming-other. What is almost another, but it is not another or like another. Its starting from this bond, or this edging, as Deleuze would say, that music, as an act of creation, happens, or is produced.

TORNAR-SE AVÓ NO CONTEXTO DA GRAVIDEZ ADOLESCENTE / BECOMING A GRANDMOTHER IN THE CONTEXT OF TEEN PREGNANCY

Deus, Meiridiane Domingues de 15 February 2016 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The birth of a new member in the family can cause changes in the routine of this group, requiring an adjustment in the lives of all family members involved in this situation. The changes are related not only to family dynamics, but also to the development of new roles and identities. Currently, some grandparents play the role of caregivers, offering moral, financial and emotional support to children and grandchildren. This dissertation deals with this theme, and is composed by two articles. The first study is a critical integrative review aimed to investigate the scientific publications on the topic of grandparents, published from 2005 to 2015. A search of national studies was performed on the SciELO and PEPSIC databases. They selected 14 articles. It was found that grandparents are important sources of emotional support, and affection both for children and for their grandchildren, particularly in contexts of teenage pregnancy, grandchildren with disabilities and breastfeeding. The second study aims to know how was the process of becoming a grandmother in the context of adolescent pregnancy. The participants were 12 women in the age group of 29-55 years. Information was collected in Health Basic Units of a city in Rio Grande do Sul through semi-structured interviews and incomplete sentences game. The analysis was based on the theoretical model of Grounded Theory (DFT). Becoming a grandmother was found to be characterized by negative (fear, anger, sadness) and positive feelings (happiness). Participants report that they never imagined becoming a grandmother at this time of their lives. Some grandparents consider that being a grandmother is to be the second mother of the child. It highlights the need for development of public policies that address this audience, and the inclusion of their participation in health promotion activities.

Roussel, Marion 24 November 2015 (has links)
Since the early 1990s, Marcos Novak has promoted a digital and experimental architecture called “transarchitecture.” The guiding principle of it is the idea of “becoming alien,” that is to say a radical becoming other of man and architecture, inhabitant and inhabitation, driven by new technologies. The purpose of this research is to examine the notion of "becoming alien" from and through two figures of human uncanniness: the Unheimliche theorized by Sigmund Freud, and the Unheimlichkeit developed by Martin Heidegger. Our thesis is that “becoming alien” is a new figure of uncanniness, proper to our time. When the Unheimliche would figure a psychological uncanniness, and the Unheimlichkeit an ontological one, “becoming alien” would be a figure of a “digital uncanniness.”By this expression, we aim to qualify the erasure of conventional dichotomies (near / far, natural / artificial, organic / synthetic, etc.) carried by our technologies, as well as the effect of diffuse strangeness that seems to result of it, affecting all of our experiences, our representations our inhabitation of the world. Finally, we suggest considering the ways in which “transarchitectures” and the notion of “becoming alien” sketch out both the possibility of a new “worldmaking” paving the way for a reenchantment, and the risk of a “deworldlizing.”Therefore, the question of ethics emerges; a technological ethics, but also an ecological, an economic and a political one: in short, an ethics of inhabitation of the world that architecture must address more than ever before. Keywords: uncanny, “transarchitecture,” human condition, body, identity, becoming, inhabitation, desenchantement/reenchantement, ethics.

Becoming and being a lay volunteer counsellor : an interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) study

Hassim, Junaid 01 February 2010 (has links)
This study embarked on exploring the experience of becoming and being a lay volunteer counsellor from a psychological perspective. Six participants were interviewed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) as the research method. Race and gender are divided equally amongst Black, Caucasian, male, and female participants. Numerous dimensions relating to the lived experience of lay volunteer counsellors are investigated in the present literature, suggesting that the experience of becoming and being a lay volunteer counsellor is multifaceted. The subjective experience of each of the participants was explored, with the optimism that this exploration would expound on the multilateralism of these facets. Although specific experiences remain exclusive to each participant, the intersecting and co-creation of meanings culminated in the cultivation of themes common to the participants. These themes are examined against the literature, critically appraising supportive and distinct suggestions. As is evident from the results, participants have a profound appreciation of the stimuli which influence their experiences of lay volunteer counselling, but also of the circumstances surrounding the origins of their sense of volunteerism. Even though some of the literature addressed themes relevant to the participants’ experiences, a small number of themes could not be juxtaposed against available literature. Based on the narratives of the participants, as well as data in the literature, volunteers constitute a reasonable component of the service sector and assist a sizeable population. Therefore, the value of the lay volunteer counselling population should be recognised in order to develop further training and support programmes for this subpopulation. As it appears, recognising the essence of this value begins with appreciating the experience of becoming and being a lay volunteer counsellor. To imagine and relate to this individual who mostly exists in fantasy – that’s really something” - psychologists' experience of working with prenatal bonding: an interview study

Lindecrantz, Ebba, Håkansson, Jessica January 2022 (has links)
Becoming a parent is a process that starts during pregnancy, where the parent's emotional bond to their unborn child – the prenatal bond – has been shown to have a significant impact on the child's future development and health. Prenatal bonding is an area that has tended to remain inattentive, in clinical practice and partly also in scientific research, even though insufficient bonding has been highlighted as among the most severe in the field. The purpose of the present interview study was therefore to investigate and thus gain an increased understanding of psychologists' experience of working with prenatal bonding. Eight interviews with eight psychologists at different Maternal Health Care units were conducted and analyzed using thematic analysis. The result showed that there is a consistency in the participants' experiences. They draw attention to a lack of national guidelines for the work with prenatal bonding, which creates an amount of uncertainty in the health practice. This is mainly since it is a relatively unknown and unused concept, with a difficult-to-access and insufficient knowledge base. The need to be able to communicate in a simpler way about the relational aspects of pregnancy is emphasized, where the concept of prenatal bonding becomes central. The results indicate a need to raise the psychological perspective within Maternal Health Care units in a clearer and more nationally equal way, where psychologists as a profession have an important contribution based on their expertise.

Törnsten, Emma January 2019 (has links)
This essay applies human-animal studies in relation to the Swedish author Kerstin Ekman's books Guds barmhärtighet (1999), Sista Rompan (2002) and Skraplotter (2003) together called Vargskinnstrilogin. Kerstin Ekman's authorship is characterized by a coexistence between human, nature and animals where the stories entangle them into a dense complexity. As a reader, one is constantly reminded of this coexistence through Ekman's narrative approach as her stories contain many contact zones between humans and animals, which creates space for problematizing this entangled coexist from a posthumanistic perspective. The animals in the stories are at different distances to the human being based on their characteristics of being regarded as wild, domesticated or ferral. Based on these three categories, the wolf as a representative of the wild animals is analyzed in a theoretical context focusing on the function of different power structures within the anthropocentric paradigm. Ferral conditions are analyzed on the basis of, among other things, Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari's theories of animal-becomings, escape lines and rhizom where the dog mainly exists when it is embodied in close interaction with humans in Ekman's stories. The domesticated animals are analyzed on the basis of the tension between rural and urban, where the progress of the civil society are rapidly changing during the 20th century which creates changed relations between people and agricultural animals.

What lays between two toes : Deconstruction and Affect: Exploring the Tabi boots

Watta, Angelika January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to explore the affective capacity of the Tabi boots by examining the object through the ideas of deconstruction. The boots by Maison Martin Margiela were first introduced in 1989 and sold in different variations over the course of the past 30 years. Although there have been several attempts to acknowledge the importance of the body in fashion studies, scholars have not focused on the literal experience of wearing a garment, examined through the touch. Thus, this study begins with a close object study of a pair of Tabi boots and draws on phenomenology to capture the feeling of being dressed. The emphasis is laid upon exploring how the ideas of deconstruction are embedded in the Tabi boots while staying open to other theoretical inquiries. Striving to test the affective potential of the boots, deduced in the first chapter, the second part of this thesis moves from the perception of the ‘I’ to other wearers of the Tabi boots. In conducting qualitative semi-structured interviews, the aim is to understand how the characteristics of the boots may affect the wearer and how this affective capacity may lead to a becoming, as defined by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. Guided by ‘applied theory’, this thesis allowed material, theory, and methods to continuously interact and affect each other.

Varför otrygg? : En kvalitativ studie om gymnasietjejers upplevda otrygghet i Skellefteå

Fredelund Pedersen, Carina, Stenlund, Adam January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this degree project has been to study levels of insecurity related to fears ofbecoming a victim of crime. Female students of Skellefteå municipality at upper secondarylevel have been the focus of this study. The material has been gathered throughsemistructured interviews. Previous research has shown that one of the greatest fears is thefear of becoming a victim of sexual assault. In this study the interviewees describe certainareas of Skellefteå which they try to avoid due to the fear of becoming a victim of crime.Darkness was a factor which recurringly was described as troublesome and the lack of controlin dark environments as the main cause of distress. The interviewees describe media as a partof their fear of becoming a victim of a crime and understand the society as male dominatedand that certain male behaviour is at the root of the issue. To come to terms with the problem, preventive actions such as better lighting outside and early preventive measures to changehow men behave around women was sought after.

An Ecocritical Analysis of Modern Japanese Literary History : Becomings of Self, Nature and Literature at the Beginning of the Twentieth Century / En ekokritisik analys av modern Japansk litteratur historia : blivanden av subjectivitet, natur och litteratur in början av 1900-talet

Takei, Shion January 2019 (has links)
Situated in environmental history and ecocriticism, this thesis traces the emergence of modern Japanese literature at the beginning of the twentieth century. Using agential realism and its concepts ‘diffraction’ and ‘becoming’, this thesis conducts an anti-essential ecocritical analysis. It aims to overcome recurring dualisms in literary analyses and to trace negotiations of concepts such as ‘nature’ and ‘self’ in modern Japanese literature. The thesis scrutinises ‘diffractions’ between the subject and the object in novels and through very acts of producing novels. These ‘diffractions’ are analysed in relation to ‘becomings’ of the concept ‘nature’ as well as ‘literature’ in the context of Japanese modernisation. Based on diverse struggles in ‘becomings’ in modern literary history, the thesis concludes with questioning the cliché of Japanese culture (the lack of absolute ‘self’ and ‘love of nature’) and also comments on analyses of ‘diffractions’ as a viable method for ecocritical analyses or the ‘ecologisation’ of literary analyses.
