Consumer ratings-reviews and its impact on consumer purchasing behavior / Kundrecensioner och dess inverkan på kundernas köpbeteende

Ahsan, Ayesha January 2017 (has links)
Storytelling is one of the most creative, powerful and effective tools of modern marketing strategies and communication. Due to the expansion of social media, storytelling has become a popular marketing and sales tool that may affect consumer behavior. This research has been conducted from a storytelling perspective with the purpose of finding the correlation between consumer reviews and consumer purchasing behavior. This study focuses on consumer stories which are reflected in terms of product reviews and ratings. Where the correlation between these reviews and ratings and their effects on overall product sales are investigated. The study answers the question, “If reviews & rating have a correlation with consumer purchasing behavior in digital marketing, and if so then how this correlation could be defined?” The data collection and tests have been conducted in a practical environment. The German online stores have been used as the main mode of data collection. Depending on the nature of the data, the quantitative analysis approach has been adopted. By conducting real-time sales data tests, this study fills the gap in previous consumer research studies. The in-depth analysis of results show the correlation between consumer reviews and product sales. The results have revealed that consumer reviews may influence overall product sales and help a consumer in purchasing decision.

AMOS CORNER SHOP : Corner shops social and cultural contributions in the city, as well as their representation of Malmö.

Christell, Julia, Tallmar, Hanna January 2024 (has links)
Corner shops, perhaps you are pondering about your favorite corner shop below the gate of your apartment, maybe you do not know what it is, or perhaps you have never visited one but have been curious about how they manage to endure. If so, this bachelor thesis is tailored just for you. Our focus with this thesis has been to bridge the knowledge gap about Malmö’s corner shops, emphasizing their social and cultural contributions to the city, as well as examining how these local, self-sustaining grocery stores represent Malmö. Through observations at several corner shops, and four interviews with shopkeepers and an author, we have come closer to the people, amo, and the regulars. We have gained knowledge and understanding of a critical gentrification situation and the complexity in claiming authenticity in the city. We have had the opportunity to witness people from different backgrounds come together in a small shop around the corner, a third place. A representation of a majority of minorities in the built environment. Our aim has not been to change, but to highlight the functions and contributions of corner shops to Malmö as a city.

From Branch to Branch : Tree Structures and Direct Links in Online Book Shops and Library Systems and How These Affect the Availability of LGBT Literature

Persson, Lina January 2012 (has links)
What this investigation has tried to find out is how easily availabie LGBT literature is in the systems that are used by private companies and the public sector - online book shops and library catalogues available online (OPACs). This entailed a number of more practical underlying factors regarding the design of the tree structure, what kind of language is used and how easy it is to understand, whether or not there are special categories for LGBT-related literature and whether or not there are direct links between literature with LGBT content. The systems investigated were the online book shops Amazon (both the American version and the British subsidiary), The Book Depository and Adlibris along with the classification systems used by the national libraries in the countries where these book shops reside (the US, the UK and Sweden): Library of Congress Classification (LC), Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) and Klassifikationssystem för svenska bibliotek (SAB). Two of the library systems (LC and DDC) did not have a tree structure available for the customers to see and navigate through, while the third one (SAB) offered a structure with both the classification code and Swedish words explaining what the codes meant, even if the categories and subdivisions were not optimally constructed. None of them had very many links to other literature. Two of them (The Book Depository and Adlibris) did not have main categories specifically for LGBT content which both Amazon US and Amazon UK did. All the library systems could use a revision to ensure that literature, and particularly LGBT literature as that was the focal point of this investigation, is easily available. The Library of Congress and the British Library need to establish a tree structure their clients could use and all three need to make sure they have a category where LGBT literature is collected and available at the root. The online book shops on the other hand do not need to do much to improve the availability of their systems: like the library systems, Adlibris and The Book Shop need to create a category of LGBT literature in the tree structure but besides that the private companies pass with credit. The systems used by the Amazon branches proved to have the greatest availability of all the systems investigated.

[en] APPLICATION OF MULTICRITERIA ANALYSIS AND LOCATION MODELS ANALYSIS TO IDENTIFY POSSIBLE LOCATIONS FOR EXPANSION OF A NETWORK OF PET SHOPS AND VETERINARIANS / [pt] APLICAÇÃO DA ANÁLISE MULTICRITÉRIO E DA ANÁLISE DE MODELOS DE LOCALIZAÇÃO PARA IDENTIFICAR LOCAIS POSSÍVEIS PARA EXPANSÃO DE UMA REDE DE PET SHOPS E VETERINÁRIAS

VINICIUS PIZANI GUIMARAES DE GOES 01 February 2019 (has links)
[en] The Pet market can be considered big, as well, indicates strong growth. Between 2011 and 2016, this market grew 6.9 billion of Real, which generates a great motivation to invest in initiatives in this sector. This work proposes the use of a multicriteria methodology for the selection of sites for the installation of a pet shop and expansion of its network, based on decision factors relevant to the southern zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The use of this methodology encompasses, considers and weighs the criteria in an aggregate way, being strategic and market oriented, such as: potential of demands, local competitors and their scope of action, flow of people / customers, as well as customer profiles and their needs, so that all factors can be considered in the decision making of the location of commercial points for expansion of Pet shops and veterinary. Aspects related to the location of service and retail units and infrastructure facilities in competitive environments were raised and studied, as well as the main decision models of the two traditional schools in this field, those of the European school (ELECTRE methods and PROMÉTHEE methods) , and those of the American school (methods: MAUT, AHP and MACBETH). In addition to these models, others, such as SAW (Simple Additive Weighting), which do not belong to the two schools, and was the most used method from 2003 to 2013 for decisionmaking with regard to retail location installation selection, also was studied, including this one, was the chosen model for the accomplishment of this work. Also analyzed in the study was a case of implanting the model for the drugstore market, encompassing the sale of products and services at the point of sale. The result obtained was a ranking of possible localities for the installation of commercial points of Pet shops and Veterinary, considering the criteria, adopted weights and final marks assigned to each neighborhood.

Women at the Crossroads, Women at the Forefront, American Women in Letterpress Printing In the Nineteenth Century

Roman, Dianne L, Ms 01 January 2016 (has links)
The significant role of the female printer in the American home-based print shops during the colonial and early republic periods has been documented in print history, socioeconomic, labor, and women studies, yet with the industrialization of the printing trade, women’s presence is thought to have disappeared. Contrary to the belief that industrialization of the print shop eradicated women’s involvement in skilled employments such as typesetting, the creation of the Women’s Cooperative Printing Union in California and the creation and chartering of the Women’s Typographical Union in New York, both in the late 1860s, clearly indicate that women continued to work in printing. The assumption that industrialization brought with it the unionization of the trade denies the possibility of non-union shops, as well as the continuation of home-based businesses across the ever-expanding nation as it moved westward. This research has sought to uncover and restore to history women who have been involved in the trade from the early transition of the home shop at the beginning of the 1800s to the signing of the WTU charter in 1869 by union employed compositors, as well as to identify establishments that hired female compositors. Digital newspaper databases have been used as a means of locating both women and opportunities available to them in the American printing trade between 1800 to 1869. Several women significant to this history, both those who have been found to be employed as compositors/typesetters and those who created opportunities for the employment of trained women compositors/typesetters, are discussed.

Estudo sobre resíduos sólidos em postos de combustíveis, funilarias e estabelecimentos de lavagem automotiva no município de São Carlos, visando indicadores de sustentabilidade / Study on solid wastes in gas stations, car body repair and painting shops and car wash establishments in São Carlos city, to compose sustainability indicators

Neves, Anne Alessandra Cardoso 06 August 2010 (has links)
The aim of this research was to raise basic data for composition of Sustainability Indicators in gas stations, car body repair and painting shops and car wash establishments in São Carlos city, in order to find solutions to social, environmental and economical issues. This would ensure sustainability in these businesses. Visits were made with interviews and questionnaires application in each establishment, industrial solid wastes were collected in four establishments of each type of enterprise and then these wastes were characterized. The wastes classification was made by chemical tests. Most products used in studied enterprises were classified as class l-hazardous products. Nevertheless, the collected wastes were classified as non-hazardous waste, class II A- non inert, possibly due to the dissolution of hazardous products. Some indicators have been developed from processing of obtained data. Sometimes indicators proved more efficient when examined together with others. When Consumption Indicators are worked with Output Indicators, for example, the dimension of profits and losses from social, financial and above all environmental area can be provided to the venture. Indicators showed investment in researches and technologies, as well as in training for improvements in quality, environment, social and workers safety would ensure sustainable development in the enterprises.

E-commerce : What key factors motivate the choice to buy clothes online?

Kjellman, Liselotte, Loman, Kristin January 2010 (has links)
Internet has almost become inevitable in today’s world. From on-line gaming to e-shopping and from communication channels to an information web, Internet is probably one of the most penetrated and widespread inventions of this era. While the topic of uses and abuses of Internet has widely been discussed, its usefulness in various sectors has not been widely researched. There are a lot of statistics and information about e-commerce but few focus on local habits and specific genres within online shopping. With this paper, we want to examine what key elements are the most important when it comes to shopping clothes online, and we have limited our research to people living in Stockholm. Our findings are a mix between surprises and numbers that we guessed before we started, but all in all – this project has taught us a lot, not only about the questions we raise at the beginning but also about e-commerce in general and a lot of unexpected factors that might lead us to future investigations in this area.
