Espanhol para fins específicos no ensino superior tecnológico e formação docente: articulações, rumos e possibilidades / Spanish for specific purposes in the technological higher education and teacher training: connections, directions and possibilities

Bedin, Maria Camila 19 May 2017 (has links)
Training of foreign language teachers has already been the subject of many studies, books, chapters and articles. However, dealing with the training of these professionals regarding Spanish for specific purposes teaching is still a stage for a few actors. In order to be part of this select cast and driven by our practice with the teaching of this language in higher education technology courses, we aimed to investigate this reality. Our interest was focused on the training and practice of Spanish teachers from technological higher education at a public college in São Paulo state, in the courses of Events, Human Resources Management, Secretariat and Turism Management. Thus, we sought to know about the formation and classroom performance of these teachers in order to check the relations, consistencies and eventual inconsistencies between conceptions and theoretical and methodological principles adopted in the teaching of languages for specific purposes - Elfe - and its implementation in classroom. We also attempted to ascertain whether the shortage of courses and / or discussions in undergraduate programs as well as the lack of research lines involving subjects related to this teaching in the graduate programs in Brazil contributes to the emergence and consolidation of a gap in the training of foreign language teachers working in these areas and how much this influences or hinders their practice in this context. This study revealed that there is a lack of preparation of Spanish teachers in the Elfe field, which we inferred to be a reflection of the aforementioned gap in their formation. Our investigative course on the teaching of LSP (Language for Specific Purposes) was based on the writings of Dudley-Evans and St. John (1998), Hutchinson and Waters (1987), Robinson (1991) and Swales (1988). In relation to the needs analysis we are also based on Dudley-Evans and St. John (1998), Hutchinson and Waters (1987), but we also consider the works of Long (2005) and Widdowson (1978). Regarding the issues related to the concepts of approach, method, methodology and techniques, we take as supporting studies the works of experts such as Almeida Filho (2010, 2012 and 2014), Anthony (1963) and Prabhu (1990). This qualitative research sets to be a case study and its data collection was based on two instruments: class observations and semistructured interviews with directors, coordinators and Spanish-speaking teachers of the investigated Higher Education College. Due to the failure detected in the training of the investigated teachers, we confirm our hypothesis in which it is linked to the scarce provision of research lines in the area of LSP in graduate courses in Brazilian universities. The performed discussions and considerations allowed to present contributions both for the academic and professional scope as well as for the teacher training. We strongly encourage this research to open new paths for foreign language teachers who intend to initiate or improve their knowledge in the field of LSP teaching, articulating, directing and signaling possibilities for the development of this area in Brazil.

This paper has, as its core, the aim to investigate how much and in what ways this school, within the proposed time frame, favored an authentic citizen education tied to Human Rights to its students, in a period through which the country was under military dictatorship, having severe restrictions to civilian and political rights being imposed upon its citizens. The research focused on qualitative approach, based on bibliographical research, document analysis and interviews with players who participated both directly and indirectly on the school daily routine. In that sense, the investigation sought: 1) To address a perspective on the citizenship concept to related Human Rights and its relevance within a context of specific school education; 2) To analyze the movement for Praia Grande-s municipal emancipation from its neighboring town, São Vicente, which happened simultaneously to the fight for the creation of a school that would offer Junior High School studies, which were non-existent at that time. 3) To get testimonials from players who were involved in the school history during the time frame in this research paper. 4) To develop categories for analysis which aim at relating and analyzing deeply the idea of education for citizenship, with school practices being witnessed or perceived at the Reynaldo school during the period under study. Documental sources related to the time period and theoretical references are described throughout the paper. During the research, we identified elements which can be seen as key for educational citizenship connected to Human Rights, experienced by the students at the State School Reynaldo Kuntz Busch since its creation, in 1965,until 1978.

This paper aims to describe the implementation process of strategic planning at the Centro de Educação Profissional São João Calábria, a nonprofit organization in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, according to the perspective of its key managers. Besides analyzing this implementation process, it also seeks to show the results from it. For this research we analyzed the process of adopting the technique of strategic planning, highlighting its motivation, its way of implementation, the level of decisional participation of the non-managing members in this process, the strategy applied to guide the typical social actions of the third sector in this professional and voluntary institution, and we also evaluated the results achieved by the organization after the implementation of the strategic planning process. A literature review was conducted on strategy, strategic management, strategic planning and its implementation. The research consists of a case study with qualitative methodology applied to conduct a descriptive field study, since its aim is to verify the planning and strategy adopted and implemented in the perspective of managers of this organization. We interviewed seven members of the Operational Management Team in the organization, one manager of Congregação dos Pobres Servos da Divina Providência (Congregation of the Poor Servants of the Divine Providence) and five other subjects involved in the operational and support activities. The results show that planning has brought many benefits and growth to the organization over the past decade, since it was implemented. The results also revealed that, despite the growth, there are some gaps that need to be improved to improve the lives of both employees and beneficiaries. This study helped to have a different view of third sector organizations, which are often averse to planning and management tools, because managers misunderstand social issues and survival, forgetting to plan and think about their strategies.

O ensino do francês em contexto universitário através dos gêneros orais: uma experiência com estudantes de engenharia da Universidade de São Paulo / The teaching of French in the universitarian context through oral genres: an experience with engineering students of the University of São Paulo

Hirakawa, Daniela Akie 15 September 2014 (has links)
This research was conducted in different two groups of the Curso de Francês para Iniciantes, which provides French classes to students of the Escola Politécnica, thanks to a partnership between the Centro de Línguas FFLCH-USP and the CRInt-Poli-USP. The goal of this work was to analyze and select the oral genres appropriated in the context of French for Academic Purposes and to present a didactic sequence for the genre job interview. In order to do that, we chose the orientations of the Common European Framework of Reference and the methodological proposals elaborated by Dolz & Schneuwly (1998) for the oral genres teaching. The results showed that learners could benefit from the sociolinguistics and pragmatics aspects of the text, and from the strategies and competences they develop during the didactic sequence for the job interview.

Malcom, Djenno Ngomanda 14 December 2007 (has links) (PDF)

Chevalier-Billosta, Valérie 20 March 2008 (has links) (PDF)

Study of Laminar Flow Forced Convection Heat Transfer Behavior of a Phase Change Material Fluid

Ravi, Gurunarayana 14 January 2010 (has links)
The heat transfer behavior of phase change material fluid under laminar flow conditions in circular tubes and internally longitudinal finned tubes are presented in this study. Two types of boundary conditions, including uniform axial heat flux with constant peripheral temperature and uniform axial and peripheral temperature, were considered in the case of circular tubes. An effective specific heat technique was used to model the phase change process assuming a hydrodynamically fully-developed flow at the entrance of the tube. Results were also obtained for the phase change process under hydro dynamically and thermally fully developed conditions. In case of a smooth circular tube with phase change material (PCM) fluid, results of Nusselt number were obtained by varying the bulk Stefan number. The Nusselt number results were found to be strongly dependent on the Stefan number. In the case of a finned tube two types of boundary conditions were studied. The first boundary condition had a uniform axial heat flux along the axis of the tube with a variable temperature on the peripheral surface of the tube. The second boundary condition had a constant temperature on the outer surface of the tube. The effective specific heat technique was again implemented to analyze the phase change process under both the boundary conditions. The Nusselt number was determined for a tube with two fins with different fin height ratios and fin thermal conductivity values. It was determined that the Nusselt number was strongly dependent on the Stefan number, fin thermal conductivity value, and height of the fins. It was also observed that for a constant heat axial flux boundary condition with peripherally varying temperature, the phase change slurry with the internally finned tube performed better than the one without fins. A similar trend was observed during the phase change process with internal fins under the constant wall temperature boundary condition.

Dutreve, Ludovic 24 March 2011 (has links) (PDF)
