I den här vetenskapliga essän undersöks starten av en skrivworkshop, i två ungdomsgrupper, som en gästande skrivpedagog och författare leder på deras skola. Den inledande berättelsen belyser författarens skrivarbete och språkhållningar. I två följande berättelser, från två workshopsituationer i två klasser, gestaltas hur olika hållningar till det skrivna och talade språket konfronterar varandra. Frågorna essän leder in mot handlar om det talade och skrivna språkets funktion i startskedet av en skrivprocess under en skrivworkshop. På vilka sätt påverkar hur eleverna och skrivpedagogen/författaren förhåller sig till språket elevernas möjligheter att skriva egna texter. I teoridelen fokuserar essän på tre fält, Författaren, Utbildaren och Filosofen. Startskedet av skrivprocessen hos eleverna undersöks i ljuset av de tre kunskapsfälten. Här tydliggörs olika dimensioner av praktisk kunskap som en skrivpedagog med egna skriverfarenheter använder sig av och ser som centrala under arbetet med skrivworkshopen Metoden, att med hjälp av tre kunskapsfält belysa en process i kreativt skrivande, tydliggör vikten av eftertanke och omsorg i detaljarbetet med språket under en skrivworkshop. I klassrumssituationerna får det enskilda ordet en avgörande betydelse. Ett väl valt ord i rätt situation från eleven eller skrivpedagogen/författaren kan bli en väg in i ett kreativt skrivande. Ett annat ord skapar istället distans och blir därmed en försvårande omständighet för den enskilda eleven i arbetet med att nå fram till sitt eget språk och sina egna berättelser.

The aim of this Master thesis is to analyse the interaction in between reading and writing based on young writers experience. My approach was to investigate how writersread literature and how they look upon their reading in relation to their own writing.Seven young people has been interviewed in this qualitative study, based a theory about their reading and reading habits. They were asked questions about reading habits and theirview upon the connection between reading and their own writing.Previous studies of Swedes´ reading habits prove that relaxation and pleasure are the most common reasons for literary reading. This differs from the present study, where my findings shows that writing people, more than other, read literature, in the way people in general read non-fiction. That is with a purpose beyond the actual ”situation of reading”. These persons often describe even their fiction reading in terms of knowledge, orientationand information, which usually are purposes connected to reading non-fiction. / Program: Bibliotekarie

Abstract In my ambition to improve my writing and reflect upon the way I express myself I am, in this paper, going to study the purport of the term pathetic. I do this by inquiring what lexicon and dictionaries say about the term and by studying how the word can be used in present time. I apply the contemporary usage of the term pathetic to my own text and then adapt my text from how the term is used in our time. By doing this I clarify to myself how I look at my own literary style, what I want my writing to be like and how the progress in my composing is developing. According to the interpretations I have done, I find meanings like “ridiculous” and meanings which have to do with strong emotions as well. It is between these meanings the importance of the term pathetic can be seen – the aspiration of being emotional without crossing the line to the ridiculous becomes a part of my further texts. This paper also elucidates the way memories make us emotional, which has given me new ideas about writing, both stylistically and from the point of view of content. Furthermore, my conclusions can be used to analyze my prospective writing. In summary it is all about being able to balance on the pathetic tightrope.
