This research has the purpose to delineate the opressed aesthetic and its rebel subjective quality character present inside the theatrical poetics made by Augusto Boal. Previous issue date: 2013-04-12 / The 20th Century is marked as a time when The Tempest (1610) by Shakespeare drew the attention of postcolonial writers as a cultural capital that highlights the inequalities of the colonial period and confronts its contemporary effects. By embracing this play, these writers engage in a politicized practice involving power-related issues. The character Caliban, in especial, has been adopted as a cultural icon of the colonized native populations. One of these writers is Augusto Boal, a famous Brazilian playwright and founder of the method The Theater of the Oppressed, a new way of acting whereby the spectator becomes a participant in the dramatic action ( spect-actor ). It establishes that a play must inspire the discussion of themes related to all types of oppression, fostering critical thinking and rehearsal for social change. Following the principles of The Aesthetics of the Oppressed, Boal makes an appropriation of Shakespeare s The Tempest, while in exile in 1979, during the military dictatorship period in Brazil, a fertile ground to retrieve Caliban as a symbol of oppression. Thus, this work aims to propose, in the light of the post-colonial theory, a comparative study on the oppressed as depicted in The Tempest of Shakespeare, and in its appropriation by Boal, with the same title. Recognizing that this appropriation denotes a more questioning inter-textual relation, in view of the critical approach it aims to adopt, we consider it a resistance against the conventional analyses of the Shakespearean text, as well as a privileged alternative to discuss the problems of oppression.

Environmental Education. Although the initial motivation of this theater
technique was to discuss the oppressive relationships between human beings,
our work had the intention to understand how this methodology can be
undertaken with a group of students in a public school to talk about the
environmental crisis. Our research was made with a group of volunteer students
from the Professor Antônio Gomes Middle and High School, located in the
neighborhood of Mutirão-Bayuex/PB during the second semester of 2008 and
the first semester of 2009. Throughout this time, we coordinated thirty
workshops on the Theater of the Oppressed techniques and discussed themes
connected to the environment on each acti vity. At the end of each semester , the
group presented a play focusing on the garbage on the school grounds and
class rooms and on the devastati on the Mata do Xém-xém State Park, located
in the same neighborhood. At the beginning of our research and at the end of
our workshops, we applied questionnaires with the Eighth, Ninth, Eleventh and
Twelfth grade students to discover if there was an increase in the level of
understanding of environmental problems and concepts like nature,
environment and environmental education. Our research confirms that the
Theater of the Oppressed can be a tool to facilitate a critical Environmental
Education and promote Environmental Justice in a participatory method.
Embora a finalidade inicial desta
Professor Antônio Gomes, localizada no Bairro do Mutirão-Bayeux/PB no

This research has the goal of evidenciate contribuitions of the study in theater to the development of knowledge structures of the subjects, when available in a regular discipline in Basic Education, with basis on Piaget’s theory and Viola Spolin’s and Augusto Boal’s pedagogy conceptions. In the perspective of Genetic Epistemology, the process of intelligence development is taken by the interdependence between affection and cognition, and knowledge, as a factor privileged by the interaction between subjects. By this enfasis in social interacional aspects, an aproximation is set between the concepts of knowledge and Otherness. An analisis of students experiences is made trough the piagetian concept of Afection, supported by his Moral Development theory. Impressions of theater students in Public School where collected in an experiment of education set in this specific context, using testimonials and registrations produced by the students from the activities developed in drama classes, inside de discipline Arts, in Colégio Estadual de Ensino Médio Padre Rambo, in Porto Alegre, in 2015. Development processes are recognized in the passage of interindividual fellings to social feelings as in the emerging of conflicts between carachteristics of inicial and advanced fases of Moral Development. This way, in the evidence of stimulation caused by theater activities to this processes, contributions of theater study for the development of knowledge structures are recognized in a general way, so as in affection as in cognition.

A gênese da Pedagogia do Oprimido: o manuscrito / The genesis of the Pedagogy of the Opressed: the manuscriptCamila Teo da Silva 07 August 2017 (has links)
A Pedagogia do Oprimido (FREIRE, 1968) é a principal obra do educador e escritor Paulo Freire. / \"The Pedagogy of the Opressed\" (FREIRE, 1968) is Paulo Freire\'s, writer and educator, main work. His manuscripts withstood a variety of cultural, social and political changes, being kept away for over 30 years in the country where it was firstly conceived, Chile. The main objective with this research is the transcription of the facsimile of the manuscripts, in a semidiplomatic edition format, which forms the main corpus to analyse the form of the literary oeuvre\'s construction, accordingly with its historical context. We also aim to trace a profile of the author\'s working method for concretizing this book, as well as doing a historic recollection of the main actions that took place before the book\'s conception. For that we counted with the kind support, by interviews and texts, from people which accompanied the author, as well as a brief account left by him in the book \"Pedagogy of Hope: Reliving Pedagogy of the Oppressed\" (FREIRE, 1996).

Previous issue date: 2017-08-25 / The Forum Theater is one of the most widespread Theater of the Oppressed’s modalities. It
was systematized in the 1970s and it approaches social and psychological opressions on
the scene so that they are discussed and restaged by the public. The mediator between the
forum-scene and the public is the joker. This work proposes an investigation between the
Forum Theater joker’s language and the buffoon. The buffoon is a clown with origins in
the medieval times that uses comicality mainly through grotesque body gestures and ironic
speech. This research has as primordial objective to investigate political and theatrical
buffoon’s characteristics being in Forum Theater’s joker in order to provoque the critical
eye. To that end, it was accomplished a historical rescue of the Forum Theater, of the joker
and of the buffoon by means of books and videos that bring concepts and practices about
them; it was written about the Victor Turner’s social drama bearing in mind one of the
research’s development axes: the study of the Cultural Performances and their relations
with the Theater of the Oppressed; and it was effected an analysis of videos, found on the
internet, about Forum Theater’s plays presented in the brazilian’s state capitals. The
selected videos’ analysis was done parting from two categories, they are: Forum theater
and jokering; and buffoon aspects. The analyis’ categories were guided through three
questions: In what way the Forum Theater has been presenting regarding the criticality
matters? Is there criticality in the spect-actors’ fruition through the jokering? Can the
buffoons’ aspects contribute to the Forum Theater’s joker formation? The mainly
consideration obtained in this investigation shows that part of the studied Forum Theater
plays are politically emptied and don’t seek the spect-actor’s critical eye. Therefore is
fundamental that the joker builds his/her acting game by the improvisational quality that is
one of the atributes of the buffoon’s activities, in this way is going to be possible having
criticality in the spect-actors’ fruition.
Fórum e do bufão.
provocado.
As
formação do curinga do Teatro Fórum? A principal consideração obtida nesta investigação
