Previous issue date: 2015-07-31 / This work aims to analyze the care in the Health Care Network in the light of the principles of the Unified Health System - SUS, under the perception of users in Goiânia, Goiás. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research. The survey sample consisted of 20 participants: hypertensive women attending SUS health units in Goiania, Go. Data collection occurred between December 2013 and December 2014. Research approved by the Ethics Research Committee at the Maternal Child Hospital. CEP-HMI, Opinion 29/2013 and meets regulatory guidelines and research involving human subjects standards, according to the 466/12 Resolution of the National Health Council. Results: The perception of hypertensive users in Goiania, Go, was inadequate in seven categories studied: the service does not occur Universal and integral manner, with emphasis on gaps in access to care; in relation to Equity, the singularities of each user are not observed leading him to turn to, in some cases to the judiciary for service to their health claims; the phone appointment of consultations (0800) at public health services frontally violates the principle of regionalization promoting the discontinuation of Clinical Follow-up and the principle of territoriality; the hierarchy has hardened approach which further limits access by users; social participation, in Goiania, lacks physical spaces and more stimuli, through the media; the scenario is unfavorable for good quality clinical practice, and for this reason it is necessary to strengthen pedagogical approaches in medical school, which reiterate the importance of care centered on the person, adopting humane attitude, ethics, based on high standards of excellence - empowerment Medical Education. The information enables managers reflect about actions to be developed and work out a plan to minimize the bottlenecks that hinder the quality of care. From this perspective, health professionals, multi-mode can plan simple actions of health education in the various spheres of primary health care aimed at health promotion.

Sexualidade entre jovens das comunidades anfitriãs de turismo: desafios para a prevenção das DST/HIV e o Programa Saúde da Família / Sexuality among the youth of the host communities for tourism: challenges to the STI(s)/HIV prevention and the Family Health ProgramRenata Bellenzani 27 March 2008 (has links)
The touristic activity in certain Brazilian regions intensifies seasonal population flows and it generates socioenvironmental impacts, among which problems to the sexual and reproductive health of the host communities inhabitants. This demands scheduled responses by the local health systems. One of the strategies of prevention and promotion of sexual health is the accretion of more prevention actions into the Programa Saúde da Família PSF [Family Health Program]. This strategy has grown in the discussions on this theme. According to its guidelines, which foresee the integration between prevention actions, treatment and rehabilitation, and also according to the epidemiologic and sociocultural reality. The objectives of the study were: (1) describe the social and programmatic vulnerability to the STDs and AIDS, unplanned pregnancies and to the sexual market, among young residents of the host communities for tourism on the southern coast of the Rio de Janeiro state in Brazil; (2) understand how the professionals of the primary health care/PSF of those same places, recognize the impacts of the tourism context on the health of the Caiçara youth segment and what are the prevention actions that they develop. The qualitative design study used the ethnographic observation and semi structured in-depth interviews applied to two groups of informants: 12 of the youth of the host community and 11 health professionals ten from the primary health care/PSF and one member of the State Coordination of STDs and AIDS of the State of Rio de Janeiro. RESULTS: Gender, ethnic, the generation, the nationality and the social states were proven to be fundamental to understand the sexual and sociocultural scenery, as well as the sexual-affective interactions among tourists and young local residents. These social markers enhance the vulnerability of the youth to STDs and AIDS, unplanned pregnancies and to the sexual market. The availability to the sexualaffective interactions among youth of the host communities and the tourists is marked by the stereotypes like tourist, gringo(a) [commonly used slang in Brazil for foreigners], caiçara and native and by the interchange of material and symbolic goods which separate people from abroad and people from here. On the other hand, the PSF professionals recognize the specific vulnerability of youth and link it to poverty, to schooling, to the family life, to promiscuity and to the characteristics usually linked to the adolescent phase. Adolescent pregnancy and the presence of multiple sexual partners, known as promiscuity are the better known problems. They value prevention and promote educational actions for the community. This study has identified some obstacles to the quality of the prevention among the youth of the host community as follows: (1) the little comprehension of the sexual scenery and of the gender and social class relations as relevant aspects to the planning of the sexual and 11 reproductive health promotion actions among the Caiçara youth; (2) the approaches use mainly the resource of lectures which emphasize biomedical aspects and orientation as a base for personal values; (3) there are operational difficulties to supply medicine needs and to plan prevention actions on the scope of the primary health care/PSF; treatment and rehabilitation actions are preferred; (4) the communication between the primary health care/PSF (municipal administration) and the State Program for STDs and AIDS of the State of Rio de Janeiro. CONCLUSION: The enhancement of the economy associated with the tourism on the host communities expands the social vulnerability to unprotected sex and to the sexual market, giving an unique character to the gender, ethnicity and social class differences. These dimensions, invisible to the eyes of the PSF professionals, along with the traditional prevention model of lectures and orientation, enlarge the programmatic vulnerability of the youth to the STDs and AIDS, to unplanned pregnancies and to the sexual market. Even though the assortment of attitudes and actions of the professionals has proven to be insufficient to manage psychosocial technologies which are part of the sociocultural dimension of sexuality, it is strongly recommended to invest on the proper education of the PSF professionals to expand their prevention actions.

Job satisfaction of dental staff in the public sector in the Northern CapeChristiaans, Erin Jöan January 2013 (has links)
Magister Scientiae Dentium - MSc(Dent) / ‘A satisfied worker is a happy worker’, this statement by Robbins (1998), sums up
the importance of job satisfaction. Locke (1976), defined job satisfaction as the
‘positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one’s job and job
experiences’. The Northern Cape province is the largest province in South Africa, by area. Oral health mainly focuses on primary health care and pain relief. Dental staff in the public sector are employed at district level, and not at sub-district level. This scenario requires dental staff (dentists, dental therapists, oral hygienists and dental assistants) to travel to rural areas that have working conditions that are not always optimal for dental treatment. Faced with numerous work-related challenges, it is believed that staff morale and motivation is particularly low in the province, as in the rest of South Africa in the public health sector (Howse, 2000). This research assessed the job satisfaction of dental staff in the public sector in the Northern Cape, and aims to make management aware of the need and the importance of oral health services, for staff and patients. The study found that the majority of the dental staff appear to enjoy their working environment (60%), love what their job entails (76%), and would like to continue their job in the long run (74%). Eighty percent of the participants reported that they experienced teamwork and 71% appreciated the support of their staff, which are very positive findings. However, it appears that the staff are not totally happy or satisfied with their work environment, and have identified various factors that need to be addressed to improve their job satisfaction. Seventy-four percent of the staff listed resources (human, financial, physical) as the major work-related factors that need to be addressed to improve their job satisfaction. iii The majority of the dental staff reported that the staff shortage, the poor communication with their administrator, the inadequate quantity and quality of equipment, the limited services being offered to patients, the lack of opportunities to make use of and improve their clinical skills, and their salary, are factors that need to be addressed to improve their job satisfaction. Just over half of the participants also stated that the salary they earn is not as important as the satisfaction gained from serving the public, and 80% of the participants felt that their job allows them to make a contribution to their community. Having a significant proportion of staff who feel that the salary they earn is not as important as serving their community is both interesting and
praiseworthy. The dental staff seem to be giving of their best despite their current work environment, but expressed a need and willingness to deliver a more
comprehensive oral health service that makes full use of their clinical skills, and
that is not constrained by a lack of finances or limited treatment options. This is a
positive foundation that needs to be built on to improve a service that clearly
needs improving. The Department of Health of South Africa should provide adequate oral health services to the public, and should ensure that the dental staff are satisfied with their jobs. By identifying areas of concern that affect job satisfaction, these specific areas can be improved (Shugars et al, 1990). By increasing the dental staff’s job satisfaction, the staff morale can be improved. This will lead to increased productivity and quality of care (Harris et al 2008; Syptak et al, 1999). Satisfied practitioners are particularly important for a successful dental practice and the well-being of patients (Puriene et al, 2008a).

The perceptions of women regarding obstetric care in public health facilities in a peri-urban area of NamibiaMuntenda, Bartholomeus Mangundu January 2011 (has links)
Magister Public Health - MPH / Namibia has recorded an ascending trend of maternal and neonatal mortality rate from 225 – 449 per 100 000 women from 1992 to 2006, and 38 – 46 per 1000 live births from 2000 to 2006 respectively. Kavango Region in Namibia is one among the top seven regions with high maternal and infant mortality rate. Most pregnant women in peri-urban areas of Rundu District in the Kavango region, where this study was conducted, attend ante-natal care services but do not use public health facilities for delivery. The health records from the public health facilities in Rundu, especially from Nkarapamwe clinic and Rundu Hospital maternity section, reveal that although the pregnant women comply with the required standard policy of
a minimum of three visits per pregnancy or more, over 40% of women who attend public ante-natal care clinics do not deliver in the public health facility. The aim of this study was to explore the perceptions of women regarding obstetric care in
public health facilities in Kehemu settlement, a peri-urban area of Rundu town. The
objectives of the study were to explore the perceptions of women on accessibility and acceptability of maternity services in public health facilities. An explorative qualitative study design using focus group discussion as a data collection method was conducted with three groups of women. A purposeful sampling procedure was
used to select participants. Ethical approval was obtained from the High Degree Committee of University of the Western Cape and permission to use data from local facilities was obtained from the Ministry of Health and Social Services. Participants were recruited on their own free will and they signed an agreement on confidentiality. A data reduction process was used for analysis. The study findings indicate that women wish to use public health facilities for deliveries due to perceived benefits, in particular, safety for the mother and the baby and that those services are affordable. However a number of reasons hinder women to access services including the attitudes of health care providers, inability to afford transport at night and cultural influences. The study recommends that delivery services at the local clinic be expanded from eight to twenty-four hours; an information campaign on pregnancy and birth complications as well as the benefits of delivering in a public facility be implemented; refresher training for nurses to improve their caring practices during delivery should be considered and that a similar research be conducted with care providers to ascertain ways to improve maternity services in the public health facility in the area.

Referenční katalog produktů a služeb veřejné správy / Referential catalogue of public administration servicesMišurec, David January 2008 (has links)
Aim of this diploma thesis is to develop a referential catalogue of public administration services, which should provide its users with summary of services provided by public administration. Theoretical part of thesis at first defines notions and presents problems connected with providing public administration services in context of development in period after Velvet revolution in Czech Republic. After that, work follows with global situation in European Union and concentrates on one country (Austria) and its services. During design of the catalogue was used actual knowledge and research about service providing, which reflects customer oriented approach and access through single point of contact. The necessity of splitting the whole process of service providing into two parts, service access and service execution part, is emphasized. Within design of catalogue are presented two main models -- domain model describing the structure of catalogue itself and service model, describing services. Based on analysis of possible uses and its integration potential with existing systems are defined its main benefits and is devised integrating principles designed in catalogue into "Portal veřejné správy".

Služby veřejných knihoven pro jazykové a kulturní menšiny / Public Library Services for Language and Cultural MinoritiesNekolová, Kateřina January 2020 (has links)
(in English): In some libraries, intercultural services are already a regular part of operations. In the Czech environment they appear only sporadically, as confirmed by a questionnaire survey examining library services for people with specific needs. In the survey have participated 625 libraries and it turned out that only 6 % of them offer targeted services to foreigners, migrants or national minorities. Another 30 % of libraries are marginally involved in these groups. A survey of the use of Czech libraries by migrants have tried to discover the view from the other side. It consisted of a questionnaire survey with 122 respondents, and semi-structured interviews with eight respondents. The results showed that most respondents do not regularly use the services of Czech libraries. If migrants use the library, they evaluate their offer positively. Best rated were events in the library, which received an average rating of 1.12 on a scale of one to four. Furthermore, the reasons of non-use of Czech libraries were investigated - the most frequent reason was an other way of obtaining literature. Project Open Library in Madrid was chosen as an example of good international practice. The concept of intercultural mediation in libraries was presented in a case study. The question is whether migrants would...

This master thesis explores Swedish public libraries and their practices in relation to welcoming Ukrainian refugees following the Russian invasion in 2022. A qualitative study drawing on semi-structured interviews with librarians (n=9) from various parts of Sweden forms the empirical foundation. A theory of practice framework influenced by Kemmis (2011) is then employed to analyze the material using qualitative content analysis, capturing the cultural-discursive, social, and economic-material dimensions of practice, as described by Pilerot and Hultgren (2017). The results showed that the number of Ukrainian refugees visiting the libraries has been substantially lower than expected. Still, the libraries offered information and literature in Ukrainian alongside with language and children’s activities. The analysis showed that the activities and therefore the practice have been influenced by the dimensions of practice to a high degree The experiences of the refugee crisis in 2015 seem to greatly influence the activities of today, and it is likely that the combined experiences of the refugee crises in 2015 and 2022 will be of value for the future practice. The importance of competences related to meeting individuals in socially exposed situations, and the importance of language- and cultural competence, are highlighted in the thesis. As is the need for both further research into and political recognition of the work being done by libraries in relation to refugees and social inclusion more general. This is a two years master’s thesis in Library and Information Science. / PubLIB for Refugees: https://sites.google.com/view/publib-for-refugees/home
