Previous issue date: 2008-04-17 / What are the gerontological physical research trends? This question has led to some
bibliographical research of the academic production at the Program of Post-graduated studies
in Gerontology of Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, from 2000 to July 2007,
thus establishing the gerontological physical research profile. The first step to accomplishing
this was mapping the former students and then gathering the abstracts of all the 171
dissertations they had done, analyzing all possible data, such as research compilation,
objectives, methodology and final considerations. The softarwe Statistical Package for the
Social Sciences (SPSS) was chosen for typing the closed information and statistical analysis
of the data, once closed questions had been asked based on the abstracts. Each study was
classified in a different thematic group created by the researcher, who then selected the 34
studies carried out by physiotherapists, which allowed her to establish the trends of
gerontological physical research at PUC/SP. Most studies had investigated life quality for the
elderly, longevity, clinical aspects of ageing, pathological processes, health care services and
programs for the elderly. With this investigation, it was possible to clearly establish that the
human being cannot be analyzed just under the biological point of view. Studies in general
show the need for a humanistic and cultural approach, thus enabling a better comprehension
on longevity, ageing and old age. Based on this, the creation of a discipline called
Gerontology Physics is suggested in Physiotherapy bachelor courses in order to expand the
understanding of Caring by the future physiotherapists / Quais são as tendências das pesquisas fisiogerontológicas?
pesquisa, objetivos, metodologia desenvolvida e as considerações finais.
temas relacionados à qualidade de vida no idoso, longevidade, aspectos clínicos do
envelhecimento, processos patológicos, serviços e programas assistenciais à saúde no
segmento idoso.
A partir disso, sugerese

Previous issue date: 2009-05-07 / Inspired by KATZ (2007), this dissertation analyses 17 (seventeen) dissertations from the Post- Graduated Studies in Mathematical Education Program of Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) which were published since 1994 through the year of 2007. For those dissertations selection we took as theoretical framework the concepts from ROMBERG's (1992) state of the art and then from the abstracts, keywords and titles we filter this institution's academic and professional master in sciences dissertations for we select the researches that involved the algebric teaching and used technologies for impulsing it. This analysis goal was to verify which advantages and disadvantages the use of new technologies (computer, calculator and robotic gadgets) brings for the Algebra s teaching and learning under the perspective of dissertations from the PUC-SP s Post- Graduated Studies in Mathematical Education Program from 1994 to 2007. Thus, this work brings a consideration about the selected dissertations regarding how theirs strategies influenced the results pointed in the works and categorizing them in respect to their behavior according to the Algebra's dimension used, following the National Curricular Parameters (PCN, 1998). In the end, we conclude that the contents from eight dissertations which used technology for impulsing the algebric learning, while the other nine analysed dissertations contents brought only the advantages that the technology use brought to the aprentice / Inspirada por KATZ (2007), esta dissertação analisa 17 (dezessete) dissertações do Programa de

Previous issue date: 2015-03-23 / Non-formal spaces are an important educational tool for the of the educational improvement process. Through the beginning technology information in all social scopes, the school has formally established a huge abyss pair which transposes to the relation for information reaching students every day over digital media and contact with the world through informal education. Making the most online content with the student's reality has become a requirement of modern educational trends, even advocated by PCN’s. Using the non-formal spaces endows the teaching and learning process of contextualization and interdisciplinary, reducing the reigning academicism the mere data recording, facts and formulas that the school requires content, which guarantees an education which the student will take a long time and certainly use to improve the social environment around them. The discussed spaces are UFG Planetarium and the PUC “Memorial do Cerrado”, important learning environments available to educators around the state of Goiás. The pedagogical proposal for visitation realizes the conflict among the remote past and the use of the Cerrado, important Brazilian heritage. With the theme “From the Big Bang to the present Cerrado: Interdisciplinarity in science teaching integrating non-formal spaces" content such as Astronomy, Evolution and Environment can be exploited for the teachers’ satisfaction and students in order to produce a scientific education which enables the student to give their opinions in community decisions concerning about the collective experience into the environment and making them in fact citizen.

Introduction and aim of the study: A radionuclide commonly used in diagnostic nuclear medicine is 99mTc. It emits gamma rays with a relatively low energy (140 keV) and has a short half-time (6h). In addition to gamma rays, 99mTc radiates so called Auger-electrons with low energy, low range and high linear energy transfer. Due to the high-LET Auger-electrons have a sufficient energy deposition to induce direct double-strand breaks to the DNA.
In these experiments we used plasmid DNA to evaluate damage induced to biological systems by different chemotoxical substances and radionuclides as well as external radiation. By using plasmids instead of cell cultures we avoid lots of unexplored signal pathways in cells and it is possible to quantify chemotoxical and radiation damage to the DNA.
Materials and methods: The double-stranded plasmid pUC 19 with 2686 bp is used in all experiments. It is a synthetically produced bacterial plasmid without any proteins. To distinguish between directly and indirectly (radical induced) induced damage we used the radical scavenger DMSO. Indirectly induced damage via reactive oxygen species (ROS) can be prevented by DMSO. The quantification of supercoiled forms, single strand breaks (SSB) and double strand breaks (DSB) was measured by the method of agarose gel electrophoresis. After the electrophoresis, agarose gels are dyed in ethidium bromide and imaged with a ccd-camera using ultraviolet transillumination. The bands of the different plasmid forms were quantified through the FIJI computer program.
Results: First of all a correlation between plasmid mass and fluorescence intensity was shown. In a pretrial no damaging effect to the plasmid from incubation temperature, pH-value and radical scavenger DMSO appeared.
Afterwards we examined chemotoxical SnCl2, external x-rays, the alpha emitter 223Ra, the beta emitter 188Re, gamma- and Auger-emitter 99mTc and the DNA-bound 99mTc-HYNIC-DAPI. The radical scavenger DMSO was used to differentiate between indirect (radical induced) and direct DNA-damage.
All different radiation qualities showed an increasing DNA-damage with increasing energy dose. For the low-LET radiation qualities like chemotoxical SnCl2, external x-rays, the beta emitter 188Re and not DNA-bound 99mTc, DMSO showed the quality to prevent the damage. After the deposition of an energy dose ≥ 600 Gy DMSO showed a limitation in his scavenger capacity.
During radiation with high-LET beams like 223Ra or DNA-bound 99mTc-HYNIC-DAPI DMSO showed less or nearly no ability to prevent DNA-damage. A 4 Gy dose of 99mTc-HYNIC-DAPI was able to induce DSB into the plasmid. These DSB could not be prevented by DMSO. The lower ESB:DSB ratio for high-LET beams also displays that direct damage is more likely to create DSB than indirect damage.
Conclusion: In conclusion we can say that DNA-bound 99mTc-HYNIC-DAPI was most appropriate to induce DSB via a direct effect. It was impossible to prevent this damage due to adding the 69 radical scavenger DMSO. We attribute this to low range, low-LET Auger-electrons and suppose that it may be possible to use DNA-bound 99mTc for therapeutic purpose. Further research has to show if 99mTc can be targeted to the DNA of intact cells and if suitable tracers can be found to safely target and kill tumor cells.

Previous issue date: 2008-05-14 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / This paper presents the analysis of different experiences conducted by GEPI in two
brazilian regions, Porto Velho (North) and Cachoeira do Sul (RS), aside from
classroom accounts from the Pedagogy course and from the research group itself. It
deals with an active research which, starting with a sensitive listening conducted in
different itineraries covered during the professional life, aims to investigate the sense
of the word and of silence in teacher education. An existential research therefore is a
process which turns into a lifetime quest. The classroom is considered as being a
scared place, revealer of the inner world, representing in this sense a mystic space.
The search for the sense of Silence and the Word, in practice analysis starting from
the itinerances of the diverse covered paths, has pointed out the need of a
interdisciplinary approach which brings together different study areas such as:
education, religion, science, philosophy, literature and mystics. The analysis of the
experiences from its organization until the actions and the obtained results (what was
thought, and what was experienced) constitutes the investigation of an educational
program in action. These analysis indicated the needful cultivation of the inner life
that touches God towards a formation which develops sensitvity and spirituality as a
foundation of a more humane education. At the end of the path we conclude that a
spiritual rather than a intellectual education raises questions not only about
professional practice, but also about the educational program, because in this sense,

emphasizing a bibliographic research. Through the history of the University the
researcher aims to demonstrate how this Institution was born at the heart of the
Church and had always participated in the educative múnus of the Church in
her mission of evangelization. The researcher also wants to show the long
process that transpired until the birth of the University in Brazil and the
conflicting interests sorrounding this birth. Then browsing through the
documents of the Pontifical Magistrate, of the Vatican II Council, of the
Episcopal Council of Latin America (CELAM) and the National Conference of
the Bishops in Brazil( CNBB), the researcher investigates how the official
pronouncements of the Church emphasizes the University in the diferent
periods of history and the expectations about it. Finally, the researcher reflects
about some aspects of the action of the Church in an Institution such as a
Catholic University (PUC-Campinas), evaluating its limits, potencials and
looking for new perspectives of presence and pastoral work in a complex

conditions to carry out their activities and the fact that they are inserted in the
university environment, makes one wonder why the academic community does not
appropriate the space of the university web-TVs as a vehicle for sharing knowledge
and as a platform for teaching, ie means for the spread of access to scientific
knowledge. From this point it is that there is the hypothesis that these uses are not
exacerbated because the web-TVs are seen only as technical utility vehicles.
Therefore, this search job to investigate serving a university web-TV and how it can
be used with communication function in the university environment. The objectives
were to verify how they work three web-TV experiences and how they are appropriate
for those who produce and consume and propose a web TV pilot experience to be able
to cope with the social function of the media. The methodology was based on
observation, analysis and comparison among the three university web-TVs selected
for the study, the TJUFRJ, UERJ Online TV and the Digital Portal PUC-Rio,
followed by systematization of data and consideration of the results. The study aims
to support the studies of Castells and the Cardoso contributions. The research also
intends to seek assistance in Capanema work on Web-TVs, initial studies of Nogueira
on the audiovisual web journalism and Teixeira studies, and Becker and Matthew on
university web-TVs. Finally, it was the fundamental Freire studies, Palaces and
Salaverría about teaching facing the digital journalism. This study has two main
objectives: the first is whether the university web-TV is a different area of learning
that enables students of the media course acquire fundamental skills and abilities for
their professional practice; the second is whether this activity can be a way of
achieving the always sought union between theory and practice within the educational
institutions, allowing also the encouragement and development of research at the
university that has brought progress to the audiovisual journalism on the web With
respect to the narrative and also to the availability of content formats. It is noteworthy
that these experiences can be presented as a resistance cell within an organism
(internet) that does not seem to be able to produce innovations and make room for the
other. But for this to happen, the university web-TVs should be seen as areas of
resistance, that make you think about the reality in which they are journalism and
communication, reaffirming the need for review of its place in education / As web-TVs universitárias estão situadas em ambiente favorável ao investimento em

Previous issue date: 2009-08-20 / The object of this study is the Course of Mathematics of the Pontifical University
Catholic of São Paulo (PUC-SP): the trajectory of the course, its organization and
academic structure, its accomplishments, its plans and projects that had involved
administration, professors and students. We try to show the transformations that
had occurred in the Course and in the Department of Mathematics of the PUC-SP,
which had its origin in the concept that research is important in an institution
focusing education, and which difficulties had appeared to integrate teaching and
research. We present the early steps of Mathematics in Brazil, until the creation of
the first universities and the first courses of Philosophy. We show PUC-SP
conceived as an University since its birth until the implantation of the Center of
Exact Sciences and Technology. We analyze the creation and the functioning of
the Department of Mathematics and the Course of Mathematics of PUC-SP, both
as undergraduate and graduate studies, and our research deals with primary and
secondary sources, compared according to their temporal proximity. We analyze
the relations between the course of Mathematics of PUC-SP and the course of
Mathematics of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of the University
of São Paulo, mainly those inherent to the creation of the Course of Mathematics
of PUC-SP. We present the curricula of the subjects of the Course of Mathematics
of PUC-SP, throughout the years up to nowadays. We give special visibility to
some mathematicians and educators responsible for the beginning of the course
and focus their participation in the curricular development of the course. Moreover,
we identify their contribution to the Course of Mathematics of PUC-SP and their
Buscamos mostrar as
Investigamos a criação e
