Možnosti snižování stresu v distančním vzdělávání u žáků na 2. stupni základní školy se zřetelem k žákům se specifickými vzdělávacími potřebami / Possibilities of minimizing stress in distance education at lower secondary school with regard to pupils with special educational needs

Mojková, Veronika January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis addresses the Possibilities of stress minimazition for pupils at the lower secondary school with regard to pupils with special educational needs during distance education. It designs the tools and strategies that a regular city school can provide students with coping with stress and stressful situations in the ongoing distance education. The theoretical part defines the main concept associated with stress, stressors and strategies used in coping with stress and the concept of distance education. The practical part finds out what possibilities a regular city school has in reducing stress for pupils in the lower secondary school, including pupils with special educational needs in distance education based on the finding of the main stressors and strategies the pupils use to cope with stress and support. The method of the research survey is conducted in the form of structural interview. Based on the obtained research data it was found out which, in the opinion of pupils, are the main stressors in distance education and what strategies pupils use for processing workload and stress, including pupils with special educational needs. From this information it is possible to design certain methods and procedures that define possibilities of minimizing stress for a given school. Key words...

All Good Things Must Come to an End: Finding the Connection Between Citizenship Pressure, Organizational Citizenship Behaviors, and Job-related Affective Well-being

Oney, Skylar D 01 January 2021 (has links)
A plethora of extant research focuses on the positive outcomes of organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB). However, there has been a relatively recent shift of focus that sheds light on the changing parameters and workplace perceptions of what such behaviors entail, as well as their adverse outcomes. As organizations and their employees endure changes, work expectations have consequently changed through differing perceptions of job tasks that individuals feel required or obligated to do, even when it is not included in their formal job description. Such feelings point to the concept of citizenship pressure (CP), which this thesis further explores and adds to the relatively little, but growing, research on the construct. Specifically, this thesis explores the relationship between OCB and job-related affective well-being (JAW), and the impact of CP on that relationship. A survey study was conducted to test the hypothesized moderation of CP on the relationship between OCB and JAW. The participants included 59 individuals over the age of 18 who were employed part-time or full-time, either at the time of their participation or within the preceding six months. While the hypothesized model was not significant, supplemental analyses were run on variations of this model. The additional models provided some significant findings that may lead to viable paths for further research. Future research directions, limitations, and practical implications are included.

Returning to Society: Daily-life stressors in the immediate prison release phase

Wahlhuetter, Laura January 2017 (has links)
This paper is the third part of an ongoing research project by Andersson et al. 2014 using Interactive Voice Response, an innovative automatic telephone assessment to study Swedish paroled offenders in the first 30 days after prison. Repeated measures of qualitative reports on daily most stressful events (stressors) and quantitative severity ratings (stress) were used to study the perception of stress in the immediate prison release phase. Adding to the knowledge about prisoners’ reentry by exploring paroled offenders’ perception on daily stressful events and the stress intensity associated with these was the main purpose of this essay. Following a phenomenological approach, daily stressful events could be categorized into social, psychological and physical stressors and an insight in the everyday complexities through the reports of paroled offenders could be provided. While social stressors build the largest category, physical stressors are on average perceived as most severe. Overall stress severity shows an increase over the duration of the study period. The findings further support the feasibility of daily automated telephone assessments in the context of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. Perceived work-related stressors, personality, and degree of burnout in firefighters

Grundy, Susan Erin 01 January 2000 (has links) (PDF)
Occupational burnout continues to be a topic of great interest to those individuals who are concerned with the influence of work stress on mental health. Although many workers from a variety of occupations have been the focus of studies of burnout, there are few studies of burnout in firefighters. In conjunction with studying the obvious factors which are believed to be related to burnout in workers, there has been a call for researchers to include personality variables in the study of work stress. Neuroticism has been found to be related to the identification of work-related stressors as well as to be related to the impact of the stressors on workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceived work-related stressors of firefighters and to determine the predictors of burnout after controlling for age and the personality variable of neuroticism. The research participants for this study included 142 firefighters from the Western U.S. Participants completed questionnaires that included demographic data, work-related background information, perceived work-related stressors, a measure of burnout, and a measure of neuroticism. Following an analysis of the quantitative data obtained from the questionnaires, ten firefighters were interviewed for the purpose of gaining in-depth information regarding the responses in the questionnaires. The findings of this study indicated that there was a great deal of variety in what each participant perceived to be a work-related stressor. A content analysis technique yielded 12 categories of stressors: coworker conflict, patient-related, general work duties, administration, sleep-related, budget-related, change in work station, personal, danger to self, 9-1-1 abuse, public-related, and child abuse. The results of the hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that after controlling for age (step 1), neuroticism (step 2) predicted approximately 21% of the variance in emotional exhaustion, 9% of the variance in depersonalization, and almost 7% of the variance in personal accomplishment. After controlling for age and neuroticism, objective and perceived work-related stressors accounted for an additional 14.6% of the variance in emotional exhaustion and for 13.9% of the variance in depersonalization. Only the objective work-related stressors accounted for an additional 8.9% of the variance in personal accomplishment.

Author: Kadenic, Sanita. Stressed social secretaries in financial assistance. A qualitative study on how social secretaries experience their working situation linked to stress at a social office in Malmo. Degree project in social work, 15/30 högskolepoäng. Malmö University: Faculty of Health and Society, Department of Social Work, 2022. The purpose of this study is to investigate how social secretaries who work in financial assistance experience their work situation in relation to stress. The empirical data was collected through nine semi-structured interviews with social secretaries working in financial assistance. Furthermore, coping and Karasek and Theorell’s demand-control model have been used as theoretical starting points. The Collected empirical evidence has been analyzed based on the selected theories and the state of knowledge. One of the central points of departure in this study was that social secretaries explained which factors contributed to stress in the workplace and which measures exist in the workplace to prevent stress, among other things. / Författare: Kadenic, Sanita. Stressade socialsekreterare i ekonomiskt bistånd. En kvalitativ studie om hur socialsekreterare upplever sin arbetssituation kopplad till stress på ett socialkontor i Malmö. Examensarbete i socialt arbete, 15/30 högskolepoäng.

Hammarstedt, Elias, Hermansson, Albin January 2024 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to examine students' experiences and perceptions of stress atnational sports high schools. The following research questions form the basis of the investigation: (1) How do students at sports high schools experience stress? (2) What type of stress do students at sports high schools experience? (3) How are students at sports high schools affected by stress? (4) What strategies do students at sports high schools use to manage their stress? The study employs a qualitative approach with a deductive perspective, and the analysis was conducted using Arnold and Fletchers classification of organizational stressors for athletes. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with current and recently graduated high school students at national sports high schools. Results indicate that a positive coach-player relationship is crucial for reducing stress among students at sportshigh schools. Students who have a good relationship with their NIU coach experience lower stress levels. Stress related to performance both in school and in sports is common. Additionally, students experience stress due to suboptimal schedules and logistics at school, with a lack of time between NIU classes and other subjects. In summary, the study reveals that some students at sports high schools experience stress in the form of mental health issues, somatic stress, and cognitive stress. Low trust in coaches and school staff to discuss stress-related topics can lead to stigma and increased stress amongstudents. Time constraints for schoolwork and transitions between lessons exacerbate stress. Stress can also affect students by challenging their resources and impacting the body without physiological causes. Some students use planning as a stress management strategy, while others wish for the school to incorporate stress management and planning into the curriculum. /
Ämneslärarprogrammet, Specialidrott

Gender differences in salutogenic functioning in military deployment

Ganyane, Evans Mpho 30 June 2005 (has links)
The aim of this dissertation is to examine gender differences in salutogenic functioning in military deployment. Salutogenisis focuses on the origin of health and wellness, and the salutogenic constructs sense of coherence (SOC), hardiness (PVS) and self-efficacy (SES) which were conceptualised focus on how individuals handle stressors positively and still remain healthy. Gender differences in military deployment were discussed, focusing on different stressors that impact on individuals' functioning when deployed. Empirically the salutogenic constructs: SOC, PVS and SES were measured. The population consisted of males and females working at 7 SAI Phalaborwa who were deployed in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Statistical techniques were applied to determine differences between males and females. The data was analysed statistically using the SPSS programme. Statistical significance was found in the SOC sub-scale "meaningfulness" and the PVS sub-scales "commitment" and "challenge". / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M.
