Det kristna dödsbegreppet

Gustafsson, Maria January 2006 (has links)

Övermalm, Sara January 1999 (has links)

Döden i skuggan av livet : Ansvarighet i folkliga självmordstolkningar i Sverige 1850–1900 / Death shadowed by life : Accountability in popular interpretations of suicide in Sweden 1850–1900

Löfving, Josefin January 2018 (has links)
This study, Death shadowed by life: Accountability in popular interpretations of suicide in Sweden 1850–1900, draws inspiration from the perspective of new cultural history, exploring ideas of accountability and the relationship between life and death in interpretations of suicide in late 19th century rural Sweden. The sources used in this study consist of records of popular belief and practice that were collected in the early 20th century. In historical writings suicide is often treated as an isolated act which was by default morally condemned. In this work the perspective is broadened, analysing the self-killing act in relation to understandings of the self-murderer’s earlier life as well as to related types of death. I argue that the definition of suicide, in the context here examined, had less to do with the intention and agency of the person who killed themself than with the context of the person’s earlier life. The main aspect when classifying deaths, both accidental and intentional, as suicides was the presence of sinful acts in the past. Furthermore, suicide was part of an even wider category of deaths caused by sinful acts in life. However, as opposed to these other kinds of death, suicide was understood as the ultimate proof of sinful behaviour. Finally, I suggest that sin in this context had a pragmatic facet that intertwined with, but did not depend on, moral judgment. This study thus sheds new light on the stigmatization of suicide.

"Där alla är skyldiga, är ingen skyldig"? : En systematisk teologisk explorativ litteraturstudie om synd, skuld och ansvar i klimatkatastrofen / “Where All Are Guilty, No One Is”? : A systematic theological explorative study on sin, guilt and responsibility in context of the climate catastrophe

Tonnvik, Ida January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this study is to explore how the concept of sin, guilt and responsibility can be used in the contemporary discourse of the climate catastrophe. In a comparative textual study on Sallie McFague’s A New Climate for Theology and Richard Bauckham’s Bible and Ecology these concepts are analyzed. The conclusion is that McFague and Bauckham both uses “responsibility” frequently, but neither “sin” or “guilt” are well used in there works. Yet, when they reflect on “sin”, both of them abandons the (in the western theology classical) Augustine theology on sin. McFague when she argues that “evil” is a perversion of good rather than a consequence of an external reality, Bauckham when he claims that the fall of sin is an ongoing process rather than a momentary event.   Hannah Arendt and Alistair McFadyen are used as an interpretative and theoretical background to the conclusions of McFague and Bauckham in the discussion that follows the comparative textual study. Arendt and McFadyen reflects on sin, guilt and responsibility with the Holocaust as context. In the discussion, their thoughts on the Holocaust are essayed to apply on the contemporary climate catastrophe. Hannah Arendt talks about “collective responsibility” and “personal guilt”, concepts that in the discussion part, when applied on the climate catastrophe and in a better way fits the contemporary situation, inverts to “collective guilt” and “personal responsibility”. The talk of collective guilt tangent the Augustine teaching of original sin where sin is a common heritage from the fall of sin. McFadyen uses original sin to explain the mechanism of the German people during the Holocaust which in many ways are similar to the processes of the climate catastrophe of today.    In the discussion of this study, original sin is used as a model to better understand the fact that people cannot escape guilt in the contemporary situation and to comprehend why people act as they do. The study intends accordingly to in a constructive way contribute with new perspectives on sin, guild and responsibility to the ecological theology of today.

Det onda och den onde : kontrasterande uppfattningar om det onda inom katolska kyrkan / Evil and the Evil One : conflicting ideas about evil in the Catholic Church

Bane, Birgitta January 2006 (has links)
<p>The nature of evil is clearly defined in catholic dogma and tradition but, though very rarely addressed, what is actually preached and transmitted in pastoral context often differs significantly from this line of thought. Based on the experience that the topic is often evaded or treated poorly, as well as on information concerning a recent increase in reports of demonic possession in western society, this study explored the schism within the church concerning evil. It was noted that embarrassment - as in the face of 21st century-enlightened-thought the Church still officially states the existence of the Devil and associated malevolent spirits - seems to have promoted an intellectual cover-up. While not desiring to inhibit freedom of thought or opinion, this work aimed at establishing clarity, coherence and truthfulness concerning teachings of the Church, and implications. It was argued that left in the dark as to the Church’s concept of spiritual reality, and ensuing controversy, the laity is not given fair opportunity to make existential choices, reach own conclusions or put forth important questions and issues for debate. The study was grounded in a systematic presentation of catholic dogma on evil, followed by a phenomenologically inspired method of analysis. Recent theological arguments put forth by <em>the New Theology</em> were related to extracts of an extensive interview with a catholic exorcist in Sweden (included in full). It was shown how the traditional Christian idea of Jesus Christ is inseparably bound up with, and based on, the concept of spiritual forces of light/good and darkness/evil, mutually repelling each other. It was concluded therefore that annihilation of the devil in one way or another, inevitably ends up by making the incarnation pointless, deconstructing not only traditional concepts of evil but the whole Christian idea in itself. The need for open discussion was stressed, including uncomfortable implications of belief in the existence of a spiritual evil.</p>
