Identification des compétences de gestion en soins infirmiers de proximité : une étude Delphi

Durant les dernières années, le rôle et les responsabilités des infirmières gestionnaires de proximité (IGP) en soins infirmiers, soit les infirmières-chefs (IC) d’unité ainsi que les assistantes infirmières-chefs (AIC), ont changé suite aux réformes du système de santé ainsi qu’à l’augmentation des besoins de la population québécoise et la complexité de ces derniers. Malgré ces nombreux changements et les défis relatifs à l’occupation du rôle stratégique d’une IGP dans le système actuel, il n’existe aucune directive claire sur les compétences que devraient posséder les IGP. Or, des compétences spécifiques aux IGP devraient être identifiées et regroupées dans un référentiel de compétences pour les IGP afin que ces dernières puissent procéder à leur autoévaluation et assurer leur développement professionnel. Actuellement, bien qu’il existe un référentiel de compétences pour les infirmières soignantes (Boyer et al. 2020), un outil équivalent pour les IGP n’existe pas. Seulement des guides de standards de pratique semblent disponibles pour structurer et encadrer la pratique des IGP qui ont pourtant un rôle déterminant à jouer dans la mobilisation des équipes de soins à atteindre leurs objectifs de qualité et de sécurité de soins. Pour cette recherche, la définition de compétence de Tardif (2006) sera utilisée tout comme le cadre de référence de la mobilisation présenté par Tremblay et Simard (2005). Le but de ce projet était d’identifier, par une étude Delphi, les compétences de gestion nécessaires aux IGP pour exercer leur rôle de manière optimale. Pour ce faire, les données ont été collectées à l’aide de questions en ligne auprès de 13 IC et AIC de diverses unités d’un centre hospitalier universitaire de Montréal. Les résultats de cette recherche permettent donc de proposer des compétences à considérer pour le développement d’un éventuel référentiel de compétences en gestion de proximité. Le référentiel pourrait être un outil pertinent sur la clarification du rôle des IGP et permettrait de définir les connaissances et les compétences nécessaires à l’exercice optimal de ce rôle. / In the last few years, the responsibilities of the nurse managers, including chief nurses and assistant chief nurses, have changed following the reform of the health care system and the increased needs of the population requiring more complex care. Yet, despite those changes and the many challenges the nurse managers are facing, there is no clear agreement on which competencies are important for a nurse manager to display in order to be able to guide their team. However, the essential competencies required for nurse manager should be regroup in a competency framework, so they can self-evaluate and ensure their professional development. Indeed, it’s possible to find a competency framework for register nurses (Boyer et al. 2020), but there is no such thing for the nurse’s manager. It seems like it’s only possible to find some guidelines to structure and regulate the practice of nurse manager, who nevertheless have a crucial role in guiding their team to achieve their goals of offering security and quality care to the people. In this research, the definition of competency by Tardif (2006) and the framework of Tremblay and Simard (2005) on mobilization of teams were used. The aim of this study was to identify the competencies of management required by nurse’s managers in order to mobilise their team. The data were collected with online questions using the Delphi method answered by 13 nurses’ managers from a university hospital center in Montréal. The results of this research will therefore provide possible avenues of competencies for a possible competency framework for management. The competency framework could be a relevant tool for clarifying the role and defining the knowledge and skills necessary for the exercise of an optimal role of nurse manager.

Habilidades directivas para el desarrollo de la gestión de conocimiento organizacional

[ES] En el ámbito empresarial contemporáneo, existe un creciente interés en identificar y atraer líderes dotados de una rica diversidad de talentos de liderazgo. El objetivo de esta investigación es evaluar la relación entre las habilidades directivas y la gestión de conocimiento que emplean los directivos de las medianas empresas estudiadas, en el campo de la economía, administración, contabilidad y afines, ubicadas en el Valle de Aburrá, Antioquia, Colombia. La investigación posee un enfoque de estudio de tipo cualitativo y cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal a nivel explicativo. Para tener una apropiada recolección de datos, se realizó la técnica de muestreo aleatorio simple a partir de la población que son los directivos de las pequeñas y medianas empresas; el instrumento aplicado fue una encuesta adaptada mezcla de Personal Assesment Management Skill (PAMS) y Management Development Questionnaire (MDQ). El software SPSS Vers-26, conocido por su robusta capacidad analítica, se usó para la manipulación de datos. El modelo de equilibrio estructural se aplicó en el análisis de los mismos. Los datos se estructuraban en cuadros de doble entrada, tablas y figuras, todos clasificados de acuerdo con su dimensión y variable. Se encontró un efecto alto (f2=0.710) en la relación entre el gestión de conocimiento y la negociación, mientras que el efecto fue bajo (f2=0.104) en la relación entre la gestión de conocimiento y el liderazgo. Las principales conclusiones son: las habilidades directivas adecuadas potencian y favorecen de manera óptima la gestión del conocimiento, de la empresa y, por ende, el crecimiento económico. A su vez, la investigación recomienda implementar estrategias que permitan referirnos a la gerencia del conocimiento como herramienta para la generación de capacidades innovadoras y el aprendizaje organizacional. / [CA] En l'àmbit empresarial contemporani, existeix un creixent interés a identificar i atraure líders dotats d'una rica diversitat de talents de lideratge, essencials per a assumir i complir rols determinats dins de l'estructura de l'organització. The objective of this research is to evaluate the relationship between managerial skills and knowledge management employed by the managers of the medium-sized companies studied, in the field of economics, administration, accounting and related areas, located in the Aburrá Valley, Antioquia, Colombia. The research has a qualitative and quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, explanatory approach. In order to have an appropriate data collection, a simple random sampling technique was used from the population of managers of small and medium-sized companies; the instrument applied was a survey adapted from the Personal Assessment Management Skill (PAMS) and Management Development Questionnaire (MDQ). SPSS Vers-26 software, known for its robust analytical capabilities, was used for data manipulation. The structural equilibrium model was applied in the data analysis. The data were structured in double-entry tables, tables and figures, all classified according to their dimension and variable. A high effect (f2=0.710) was found in the relationship between knowledge management and negotiation, while the effect was low (f2=0.104) in the relationship between knowledge management and leadership. The main conclusions are: adequate managerial skills optimally enhance and favor knowledge management, company management and, therefore, economic growth. In turn, the research recommends implementing strategies that allow us to refer to knowledge management as a tool for the generation of innovative capabilities and organizational learning. / González Marín, YO. Acquiring Peace Through The Outdoors : The effect of outdoor settings in the management and resolution of conflicts between preschool students from the teachers’ perspective

Promoting values of respect, understanding, empathy and developing in the students the necessary skills to be part of a peaceful and comprehensive society is one of the responsibilities of the educational system. This mission, in the context of the Swedish preschools, is also compatible with the characteristic use of the natural and outdoor environments of the Scandinavian countries as learning and experiential settings. The aim of this research paper is to study how the outdoor spaces can affect the understanding andthe resolution of conflicts between students in the preschool stage from the perspectiveof the teachers. Therefore, the main tool for the collection of the data were the semistructured interviews carried out with different educators from different Swedish preschools. Using thematic analysis as the designated qualitative approach to analyse thedata, different themes and sub-themes were addressed throughout the answers from theinterviews and organized based on 3 different sections: experience in outdoors, conflicts in the preschool, and the outdoors in the resolution of conflicts. The results presented the teachers’ experience regarding outdoor education; their understanding of the differenttypes of conflicts in the preschool stage; the role of the different parts involved, and themethods used to understand, manage, and deal with issues between the students; lastly, how the use of outdoor settings and its benefits can promote conflict-management skillsamong the students. Thus, the outdoor settings possess a beneficial effect on the social, emotional, and personal development of the children, these being key factors for the promotion of peaceful conflict-resolution strategies from an early stage.

A Comparison of Three Groups of Undergraduate College Males--Physically Abusive, Psychologically Abusive, and Non-Abusive: a Quantitative Analysis

This study compares three groups of undergraduate college males in heterosexual dating relationships: those who are physically and psychologically abusive (n=39), those who are solely psychologically abusive (n=44), and those who are non-abusive (n=34). These three groups are compared along the following variables: self-reported history of experiencing family of origin violence; self-reported history of witnessing family of origin violence; level of self-reported impulsivity; level of self-reported satisfaction with life; level of self-reported alcohol use; level of self-reported relationship satisfaction; and amount of self-reported anger management skill. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed significant main effects among the three groups of males along several of the variables examined (Wilks' Lambda F = 4.80, df = 10, 220, p <.001). Post hoc tests revealed significant differences among the three groups of males. This study revealed that these three groups differ significantly along their levels of alcohol use (F = 10.16, p <.001), their reported levels of relationship satisfaction (F = 4.23, p <.05), and their levels of anger management skills (F = 14.56, p<.001). This information can be helpful to clinicians and educators who are working with college populations. It would seem that psychoeducation might be useful for some of these men so that they might develop alternatives to violence, and may hopefully decrease the risk factors associated with the perpetration of relationship violence. Intervening early and effectively with these dating relationships can be a substantive step towards preventing the escalation and maintenance of violence in relationships. / Master of Science

An investigation into the current practice of the private nurse working in the community in South Africa

Text in English / Little is known about the current practice of the nurse practising as an independent private practitioner in South Africa. There is also limited information available about his/her needs for establishing and maintaining a private practice. In this exploratory, descriptive study the AFFIRM model was applied and specific data regarding the practice and needs of the nurse in private practice was collected through a questionnaire. Based on the analysed data, it would appear that the majority of private nurse practitioners are married females and fall into the age group below 44 years. Although a variety of nursing services are offered, quality control appears to be minimal. It was found that private nurse practitioners have specific learning needs particularly regarding business management skills, quality control and current nursing practices. Recommendations were made for the maintenance of standards in private practices and the introduction of short courses for nurses in private practice. / Health Studies / M.A. (Nursing Science)

A management training course was' evaluated for effectiveness by using two specially compiled in-basket exercises equivalent in complexity. Outcome evaluation was performed so as to determine whether learning transfer took place, ie whether management skills in the application of the management dimensions planning, organising and control do manifest in the work context afterwards. Significant differences were found between the experimental group and the control group in the application of the management dimensions planning, organising and control. These differences were investigated by means of the "Univariate procedure ... A management training course can therefore be effectively measured with the behaviour assessment approach by using two groups, where only one group is exposed to a management training course. It can thus be ascertained whether a change in management behaviour has taken place as a result of learning transfer. / Die effektiwiteit van 'n bestuursopleidingskursus is geevalueer deur twee spesiaal saamgestelde posmandjies van dieselfde moeilikheidsgraad te gebruik. Uitkomsevaluering is gedoen om te bepaal of leeroordrag plaasgevind het, met ander woorde of die nuut aangeleerde bestuursvaardighede in die toepassing van die bestuursdimensies beplanning, organisering en beheer wei na die tyd in die konteks van werksgedrag manifesteer. Project management training for community development

Thesis (MPA)--Stellenbosch University, 2001. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The Government of South Africa introduced the Reconstruction and Development Programme (RDP) as a means of addressing the sub-standard, living conditions many underprivileged and disadvantaged societies were experiencing in the country. That gave community development impetus. The RDP, as a government policy, presupposed that public institutions would be responsible for its implementation. That implied that public officials, inter alia, would have to facilitate community development. This change agent status of public officials also implied that they would have, out of necessity and demand, to acquire or to demonstrate knowledge of project and community development management skills. Management sciences argue that an organisations' effectiveness is, amongst other, the result of interplay between the internal capacity (inputs), outputs (production) and outcomes (impacts). Internal capacity includes, among others, the training of personnel for the achievement of goals. This study, as stated in the research question, seeks to explain the relationship between project management training and effective community development. It seeks to establish whether there are a significant number of public officials who are trained in project management for community development. The study focuses on the Province of the Eastern Cape, especially the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, with special reference to cultural officers. The study further presents the Willowvale Case Study to demonstrate in a practical way the relevance of project management skills to the implementation of community development programmes. This case study also serves as base to launch arguments in favour of trained public officials. The research results suggest that public officials, especially cultural officers, lack project management skills. These findings presuppose that the implementation of some community development projects may be flawed, delayed or postponed. The study recommends that the Province of the Eastern Cape consider setting up an interdepartmental body for the purpose of establishing an integrated project and community development training policy, in consultation with relevant tertiary institutions for support and advice. / AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die Suid-Afrikaanse regering het die Heropbou- en Ontwikkelingsprogram (HOP) ingestel as instrument om die substandaard lewensomstandighede wat verskeie minderbevoorregte en agtergestelde gemeenskappe in die land ervaar, aan te spreek. Die HOP, as regeringsbeleid veronderstel dat openbare instellings verantwoordelik is vir die implementering daarvan. Dit impliseer dat openbare amptenare, onder andere, gemeenskapsontwikkeling moet fasiliteer. Hierdie veranderingsagent status van openbare amptenare impliseer dat hulle as 'n noodsaaklikheid vaardighede in projekbestuur en gemeenskapsontwikkeling moet bekom of oor beskik. In die bestuurswetenskappe word geargumenteer dat organisatoriese effektiwiteit onder andere die resultaat is van 'n verwantskap tussen interne kapasiteit, uitsette en uitkomste. The study of this subject justifies itself, because there are few reports available in literature concerning the perception of students in the evaluation of this methodology as a learning tool that collaborates with the development of competences and abilities, which are important to place the students in the business market. The considered method of research is the case study. This study has been developed taking as reference the experience of the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation - FAAP in São Paulo and São José dos Campos, which offer the discipline business simulation in their courses of Post-Graduation in Business administration. The research had a sample size of 80 (eighty) students who had taken business simulation classes in the year of 2006. This institution of education was chosen by being one of the precursors in the use of the Business simulation tools in Brazil and also by the fact of never having participated in research about this subject. It has been verified that the business simulation do not substitute any other discipline. However it adds value in the course composition of Graduation in Administration course specially supporting the National Curricular Lines (BRASIL, 2005) in its needs, therefore, questions between theory and practice using the meaningful learning, fit the student s needs, despite the fact that this tools improve student s management skills for business market / O objetivo deste trabalho é estudar os jogos de empresas e seus benefícios para a prática empresarial, a partir de sua utilização nos cursos de Pós-graduação em Administração Lato-sensu, focando a análise sob a ótica dos seus alunos O estudo desse tema se justifica, porque ainda há poucos relatos na literatura sobre a percepção dos alunos na avaliação dessa metodologia como uma ferramenta de aprendizagem que colabora com o desenvolvimento de competências e habilidades, as quais são necessárias para a inserção desses alunos no mercado de trabalho. O método de pesquisa proposto é o estudo de caso. Esse estudo foi desenvolvido tendo por base a experiência da Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado FAAP em São Paulo e São José dos Campos, que ministra a disciplina jogos de empresas nos seus cursos de Pós- Graduação em Administração de Empresas. A pesquisa contou com uma amostra de 80 (oitenta) alunos que participaram dessa disciplina no ano de 2006. Essa instituição de ensino foi escolhida por ser uma das precursoras na utilização da ferramenta jogos de empresas no Brasil e também por nunca ter participado de pesquisas sobre esse assunto. Verificou-se que os jogos de empresas não substituem nenhuma disciplina. Porém agrega valor na composição de um curso de pós-graduação em administração principalmente atendendo as necessidades das Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais (BRASIL, 2005), pois o aluno se identifica com questões entre teoria e prática utilizando a aprendizagem significativa, além do fato que o esta ferramenta atende as necessidades de melhor preparo gerencial dos alunos para o mercado

The textile industry in Kenya was once an important sector in the country but due to theliberalisation of trade and the second hand industry’s impact, the industry has declined inrecent years. The increased competition from import has boosted the costs of raw material andoutrivaled the local textile production. Further, the government’s lack of investments in thecountry’s electric power supply has also contributed to the current situation. Consequently,the domestic textile entrepreneurs are today facing a complex and competitive marketplacebut despite these obstacles there are women that have managed to overcome the entrancebarriers.It is an unfavourable climate for being a woman entrepreneur in Kenya since the socioculturalnorms restrain women to work outside their homes and in some business sectors. Though, ourfindings have shown that the Kenyan women have the handicraft skills but lack access tofinancial resources as well as management skills to start-up businesses in the textile industry.Access to credit is regarded as one of the main obstacles to establish a firm. There are lendinginstitutes but the interest rate is high and the collateral requirements hard to fulfil. Moreover,there are micro-loan institutes but the loans are not sufficient to companies with growthpotential.The purpose of this study was to map-out key success factors for becoming a womanentrepreneur in the competitive textile marketplace in Nairobi, Kenya. We aimed tounderstand how some entrepreneurs have managed to overcome the obstacles women face intheir social- and cultural context and how mapping of their shared supportive variables canencourage other females to become entrepreneurial.Our results find that there is not one way to handle difficulties along the dynamic andcompetitive textile market in Kenya. The respondents come from different social- and culturalcontexts that in diverse ways have influenced their management ways. We have though beenable to map out shared factors that have been supportive when overcoming obstacles in theprocess of a business start-up; being a visionary and opportunity seeker, counterbalancemissing knowledge, effective use of limited resources, fighter instinct, find a niche in themarketplace, networking skill and manage employees and unsupportive surroundings.Textilindustrin i Kenya var en gång en betydelsefull sektor för landet men under de senareåren har dess relevans minskat på grund av ett ökande inflytande från frihandeln samt enväxande försäljning av andrahandskläder. Konkurrensen från import har lett till högreråvarukostnader som succesivt spelat ut den lokala textilproduktionen. Vidare har regeringenvarit sparsam med att investera i landets elförsörjning vilket också har bidragit till denrådande situationen. Följaktligen står den inhemska textilindustrins företagare idag inför enkomplex och konkurrensutsatt marknad, men trots många hinder finns det kvinnor som harlyckats övervinna inträdesbarriärerna.För kvinnliga entreprenörer i Kenya är företagsklimatet ogynnsamt då det föreliggersociokulturella normer vilka begränsar kvinnor att arbeta utanför hemmet och även inom vissabranscher. Vår studies resultat har visat att kenyanska kvinnor besitter ett hantverkskunnande,men saknar tillgång till finansiella resurser samt färdigheter för att starta och leda ett företag itextilindustrin. Tillgängligheten till ekonomiska medel har betraktas som ett av de störstahindren för att upprätta en verksamhet. Det finns utlåningsinstitut, men där är räntan hög ochkraven på kreditsäkerhet svåra att uppfylla. Vårt syftevar att förstå hur vissa entreprenörer lyckats övervinna hinder som kvinnor möter i sinsociala- och kulturella kontext samt kartlägga gemensamma stödjande variabler som i sin turkan inspirera andra kvinnor till att bli företagare.Vårt resultat belyser att det finns flera sätt att hantera svårigheter på den dynamiska ochkonkurrensutsatta textila marknaden i Kenya. Respondenterna i denna rapport kommer frånolika sociala- och kulturella kontexter vilket på olika sätt har påverkat deras sätt att hanteraföretag. Vi har dock kunnat kartlägga gemensamma faktorer som har hjälpt att övervinnahindren i processen med att starta företag; vara en visionär och en möjlighetssökare, hanteraavsaknad av kunskap, effektivt använda begränsade resurser, ha en kämparinstinkt, hitta ennisch på marknaden, vara skicklig på att använda sitt nätverk och att hantera sina medarbetaresamt en icke stödjande omgivning. / Program: Textilekonomutbildningen

The factors of psychological training of athletes are researched not sufficiently enough. Many authors underline that psychological training of athletes is a complicated process, without which the development of modern sports is impossible. The problem of study is that data, which would reveal the influence of psychological training program on psychological skills that, are: imagery creation skills, stress management skills, management of mental energy, concentration skills, self confidence and goal setting skills. The purpose of this study is to establish the influence of psychological training program on the psychological skills of basketball players. Objectives: to establish level of psychological skills before and after psychological training program. Data were obtained from a sample of 14 basketball players competing in Lithuanian basketball “A” league. Effectiveness of psychological training program was evaluated through (a) Training experiment (the psychological training program), (b) the psychological tests, and (c) mathematical statistics. The results indicated an increase in all investigated psychological skills. Although not all results showed a reliable difference, but stress management, self confidence and goal setting skills managed to show a reliable difference between two cases. Results confirmed that even a minimal psychological training program is effective for athletes all over the world.
