[en] USES AND APPROPRIATIONS OF THE NO-SCREEN IN THE NETWORK: A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE CONDITIONS OF YOUNG PEOPLE TO THE INTERNET IN BRAZIL AND ITALY / [pt] USOS E APROPRIAÇÕES DOS SEM-TELA NA REDE: UM ESTUDO COMPARATIVO SOBRE AS CONDIÇÕES DE ACESSO DOS JOVENS À INTERNET NO BRASIL E NA ITÁLIARITA DE CASSIA SOUZA LEAL 25 March 2010 (has links)
jovens, considerando duas realidades distintas.
[en] The thesis presents a comparative study between Brazil and Italy, with
regard to Internet uses and appropriations referred to young people of low income
or with limited access opportunities. Based on the methodological assumptions of
qualitative research, the research aims to understand the changes caused by the
impact of Internet in young people’s of everyday life, considering two different
realities. Thus, in continuous dialogue with theorists who study the subject, the
thesis presents and analyzes media and official speeches, statistics on the uses of
ICT in both countries, in addition to the testimonies of coordinators, mentors and
users. In defining the empirical field, the thesis makes a cut in the Italian reality,
choosing a project called terza area developed by Cremit - Research Center of
the University of the Sacred Heart of Milan in partnership with the School Oriani
Mazzini, toward the inclusion students with few opportunities for media access. In
Brazil, the clip falls on LAN Houses, shopping paid Internet access, through the
speeches of the students of the Institute of Education Clelia Nanci in Niteroi, Rio
de Janeiro, the same condition as frequent users of LANs, a phenomenon running
through the different social classes, though remaining a preferred location for
Internet access among the less favored population. In this sense, we introduce the
issue of unequal access, digital divide, the construction of citizenship and
democracy, and the role of education in this context. The significant contributions
are in critical reflection on the issue of access and questions about the digital
divide, both in Brazil and in Italy. The results provide clues to the articulation of
educational programs that develop digital inclusion from the perspective of social
inclusion, since, as indicated by the data, one does not take place without the
other.

[en] HISTORY AND MEMORY OF PROLER (1992- 1996): AN INSTITUINT EXPERIENCE ON READING / [pt] HISTÓRIA E MEMÓRIA DO PROLER ( 1992- 1996): UMA EXPERIÊNCIA INSTITUINTE DE LEITURASTELLA DE MORAES PELLEGRINI 04 October 2010 (has links)
[en] This thesis intends to explore an important moment of the reading history in Brazil (1992-1996), when PROLER – National Program for Reading Incentive – was developed. PROLER was the first Public Policy ever enacted on reading in this country. While in effect, reading was the primary focus of all actions. The program was not limited to the actual books, which were, until that moment, the main concern of the previous administrations, including those under state of exception. Extensive research on PROLER, supported by bibliographic resources, documents and verbal narratives, indicates that the program achieved its main objectives. As a result, reading has returned to be considered, under Freire’s approach, as reading of the world, which entails comprehensive critical extent, focused on the mobilization of the individuals for social, cultural and political inclusion indistinctly in all layers of our social pyramid. Another important aspect is the simiotic dimension of reading, which allows individuals to find meaning on the world around themselves since their very births and consequently to discover their very own. These were two of the programs that, under such conditions have become an instituint experience discussed in all of its perspectives in the course of this exercise, in such a manner that provides fundament to the applied theorectical-methodological apparatus.Through the privileged reading of this assignment, PROLER occupies a dimension of reseach-intervention for which the movements and processes are important and for this very reason, the program is self-denominated as research-in-progress. In this spirit, I tried to analyse the PROLER as a research-intervention and as an instituint experience on reading. Given this option, I have elected the theoretical-methodological chain of institutional analyses, more specifically the French socio-analysis. Such an option led me to believe that the implemented actions on beneath of reading between the years of 1992 and 1996 in all Brazilian states presented the material substance to
convert this nation into a country of readers and to be properly considered as a Public Policy on reading.

[en] The game requires the player s structural kinds of intelligence to relate rules, content, strategies and schemes. In other words, to play, some skills and abilities are necessary to articulate information and action. This research presents a vision about game development which emphasizes the relation between information, disciplinary content, and skills and abilities required for the game experience, related to those demanded in the school. These concepts are taken from Education and used in Design field, since it is an area responsible for creating and studying games on their uses and potentialities. Design field is also concerned in rethink the use of the game, as its development process. In this way, a partnership experience between Design and Education is proposed and illustrated by the work of a high school biology teacher and a game designer. Their experience of developing a game to be used in the classroom is narrated and the process and results are exposed. Finally, it was found that the game developed served as a teaching tool and corresponded to the students` expectations.

[en] CITIZENSHIP IN SCIENCE SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS: DISCURSIVE CHANGE, MEDIATIONS AND TENSIONS IN THE DYNAMICS OF PUBLIC SCIENCE EDUCATION TEXT PRODUCTION / [pt] A CIDADANIA NOS LIVROS DIDÁTICOS DE CIÊNCIAS: MUDANÇA DISCURSIVA, MEDIAÇÕES E TENSÕES NA DINÂMICA DE PRODUÇÃO DAS COLEÇÕES DIDÁTICAS PARA A EDUCAÇÃO PÚBLICARITA VILANOVA PRATA 21 March 2011 (has links)
[en] This thesis discusses aspects relating to the discursive change that is
occurring in the field of science education, in which the purpose of citizenship
assumes a central position. With the purpose of identifying and situating the
tensions inherent to these changes and the different perspectives on citizenship,
we discuss the relations established in the governmental regulation actions of
school science textbooks production. Our analysis were based on the Critical
Discourse Analysis framework, an methodological approach that considers texts
as components of social practices and searches on comprehend how discourses
figures in these practices and orientate social changes. In this perspective, texts
are pointed out as a social and historical construction and in a dialectical relation
with discourses and social practices. Critical discourse Analysis methodological
framework works with de concept of interdiscursivity and the categories of
discourses, genres and styles, elaborated in the dialogue with the contributions of
the language studies developed by Mikhail Bakhtin, Michel Foucault, Michael
Halliday and Basil Bernstein and with the notions of ideology and hegemony.
Based on this framework, our analysis of the discourses on science education and
citizenship were performed in a set of texts of the Programa Nacional do Livro
Didático (PNLD), the public policy of evaluation and purchase of school
textbooks and in a set extracted from the textbooks, with the goal of apprehending
the meanings of citizenship in this textual chain. Our analysis points to a
recontextualization of the debates on science and citizenship performed in the
field of science education research in PNLD’s texts. In these movements, the
debates are recontextualized in the form of a set of prescriptions and assertions,
adopting a communicative strategy typical of the educational reforms, based on
ruptures and replacements, which wipes off the tensions inherent to changes.
Differently, the analysis of the textbooks points that these tensions are deeply
marked on the text, which stresses the character of hegemonic struggle between
the established practices and the attempts to change.

[en] IN THE WEB OF DAY-TO-DAY LIVING: ADULTS AND CHILDREN CONSTRUCTING CHILDHOOD EDUCATION / [pt] NAS TRAMAS DO COTIDIANO: ADULTOS E CRIANÇAS CONSTRUINDO A EDUCAÇÃO INFANTILSILVIA NELI FALCAO BARBOSA 01 September 2004 (has links)
Assim, a compreensão
no mundo.
criança e a educação infantil (Manoel Sarmento, Manoel
Pinto, Sonia Kramer, Lev Vygotsky, Walter Benjamin, entre
outros). O primeiro capítulo, fala dos encontros possíveis
entre a educação infantil, a infância e a criança. O
desta pesquisa.
pares.
produzidas. / [en] This dissertation aims to study the interactions
established between adults and children in the daily life
of a public school for children in the municipality of Rio
de Janeiro, Brazil, having as a basis a methodology that
takes into consideration the child as the subject of the
research. Thus, in this research the understanding of such
a daily life takes into consideration the point of view of
the children, how the children takes possession of the
space, what he or she does and says, understanding the
importance of the childhood play for the child to know his
world and to recognize himself or herself in it. The
analysis begins with a dialogue between the thoughts of
authors who are identified with studies about infancy, the
child and the childhood education (Manoel Sarmento, Manoel
Pinto, Sonia Kramer, Lev Vygotsky, Walter Benjamin, among
others). The first chapter talks about the possible
encounters between childhood education, infancy and the
child. The second one presents a description of the choices,
discernment and mistakes, upon which the direction of the
research were structured. The third chapter brings an
understanding of the day-to-day life of the childhood
education, starting from the observation of the
interactions between adults and children and also between
children with their pairs. The present study is an
invitation to look at the child from the viewpont of
those things that are typical of early childhood - the
power of imagination, fantasy, creativity - that recognizes
children as makers of culture and the culture that is
produced in them.

[en] This study aims to offer a contribution to Human Rights Education (HRE). In order to do so, it tried to capture the perception of those educators who have already come into contact with the HRE, instead of those who may be apart from the subject. In particular, the study aimed to understand the possible articulations between the teachers subjects and HRE, as well as how they would put them into practice. From a qualitative research approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with fifteen specialist teachers from different secondary school subjects, as well as with one primary school teacher. The material obtained was analyzed in light of HRE s theoretical and methodological references (ANDRADE and LUCINDA, 2011; ARAÚJO, 2013; CANDAU and SACAVINO, 2010), besides key international and national documents on the subject. The results of the analysis indicate several possible relations between school disciplines and HRE as perceived by the interviewed teachers, especially regarding themes such as class, race and gender. Important findings also include the observation that the construction of such connections depend much more on a HRE-oriented contextualization of themes than on specific syllabus content. With regard to teaching practices, it was possible to identify a general avoidance of traditional school dynamics, which were usually replaced by art-based activities or lessons. The study concludes by pointing to manifold challenges faced by human rights educators, such as the current political situation in Brazil, the precarious conditions of teaching in the country, and issues related to school culture and climate. Regarding the latter, great emphasis was laid on school staff s profile.

[en] Computers are often seen as an icon of modernity at schools. Nevertheless, the presence of a sophisticated machine does not guarantee that any real changes regarding students autonomy and critical thinking is going on. This research aimed at investigating the use of computers as teaching tools, focusing on the
discursive patterns occurring between teacher and students. It was based upon the knowledge of traditionally asymmetric interactions usually encountered in formal teaching/learning situations, contrasting such paradigm with data collected through systematic observation – and later transcription of recordings - of classes taking place in the computer laboratory of a public school in Rio de Janeiro. The investigation searches for moments in which this pattern changes, thus showing that some real difference is on arrival. The conclusions seem to indicate that the computer alone does not determine variations in the pattern and the consequent advance towards greater autonomy in students participation. However, the teacher s attitude appears to be a crucial factor in triggering the desirable changes.

Reconhecendo a infância
como uma construção
social e compreendendo as crianças e jovens como atores
sociais, procurou,

subjetividade humana,
envolvidos e as

joined, during school visits, its Educational Program, as
well as the professionals
who attended the visitors. This paper sought to understand
the interactions
between children, youngsters, adults and works of art
within the space of the
museum and reflect about those interactions concerning the
aesthetic sensitivity
and critical appreciation through direct observation,
visual and written records.
Recognizing childhood as a social construct and
understanding the children and

[pt] O estudo aborda a socialização profissional de professores
no
relevantes e
influentes na socialização profissional dos atores
pesquisados. / [en] This study is about the professional socialization of
