[pt] A dissertação volta-se para os estudos da subjetividade em relação à cidade à luz do método de pesquisa-intervenção da cartografia. Considera-se a subjetividade em seu nível processual e produtivo e argumenta-se ser necessária, em tal pesquisa, a abertura atenta do corpo ao plano coletivo de forças que constitui o espaço urbano e os processos de subjetivação. O estado de corpo do cartógrafo aparece então como central. A produção conceitual de Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, Suely Rolnik e Félix Guattari dá suporte à afirmação de uma relação intensiva com a cidade, acompanhada por processos de corporificação do conhecimento, que configuram regimes de afetabilidade produtivos de múltiplos modos de existência, para além da função sensível trivial. Utilizando a literatura como ferramenta teórico-metodológica, apresenta-se ensaios de experiências urbanas de um flâneur-cartógrafo na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, nos quais a dimensão estética e suas relações com as mutações da sensibilidade humana são abordadas enquanto uma problemática sócio-política cara às temáticas urbanas contemporâneas. / [en] This dissertation aims to analyze subjectivity regarding the city vis-à-vis the cartographic intervention research method. It takes subjectivity into consideration at its procedural and productive levels and affirms the need of an attentive opening of the body to the collective level of forces which constitute the urban space and the processes of subjectivity. The cartographer s state of body is thus crucial. The conceptual production of Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, Suely Rolnik and Félix Guattari supports the affirmation of an intensive relationship with the city, accompanied by knowledge corporification processes, which constitute productive affectability regimes of multiple modes of existence, way beyong the trivial sensitive function. This paper uses literature as a theorecal and methodological tool and presentes essays on urban experiences of a flâneur-cartographer in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in which the aesthetic dimension and its relationship with the mutations of human sensitivity are addressed as a social and poliitical issue of crucial important to contemporary urban matters.

[pt] A presente dissertação pretende investigar os diálogos entre a pintura oitocentista e a subjetividade moderna, explorando como a modulação subjetiva do século XIX se torna visível na produção artística do período em questão ao mesmo tempo que também produz impactos no campo da arte. Partindo de Michel Foucault, que ensina a questionar o que é visto como inevitável, esta pesquisa compreende que a forma que estamos e nos relacionamos com o mundo não é natural, mas histórica, e que a experiência subjetiva do homem moderno, caracterizado pela sua interioridade psicológica, reverbera em diversas produções humanas — entre as quais a arte, sobretudo a pintura, ocupa um lugar de especial destaque. Sem estabelecer causas e consequências diretas, este trabalho tem como objetivo construir relações entre a pintura e as maneiras de perceber e experimentar o mundo que são produzidas na Modernidade, investigando como as novas possibilidades no campo artístico podem ser compreendidas tanto como produtos quanto como produtoras de uma nova experiência de ser sujeito. / [en] The present work intends to investigate the possible dialogues between 19th century painting and modern subjectivity, exploring how the subjective modulation of the 19th century became visible in the artistic production of the period, while also creating impact in the field of art. Starting with Michel Foucault, who teaches to question what is seen as inevitable, this research understands that the way we are and relate to the world is not natural, but historical, and that the subjective experience of the modern man, characterized by his psychological interiority , reverberates in several human productions — among which art, especially painting, occupies a special place. Without establishing direct causes and consequences, this work aims to build a relationship between painting and the ways of perceiving and experiencing the world that are produced in Modernity, investigating how the new possibilities in the artistic field can be understood both as products and as producers of a new experience of being a subject.

[pt] Esta dissertação trata do tema hospitalidade como acolhimento em Emmanuel Levinas, buscando uma unidade de sentido do conceito de hospitalidade em sua obra, hospitalidade que transita entre ética e política. O trabalho está dividido em três capítulos que situam o problema da hospitalidade, em geral, e no pensamento do filósofo: a hospitalidade, a metafísica levinasiana, e hospitalidade entre ética e política. Primeiramente caracteriza-se a hospitalidade como problemática e como problema filosófico, e no pensamento levinasiano. A seguir, apresenta-se a noção de subjetividade no pensamento de Levinas, e outras noções importantes para a constituição do sujeito e da relação intersubjetiva desde o nascimento do sujeito, ao sujeito acolhedor e ao sujeito refém. Por fim discute-se a questão da hospitalidade como algo mais originário, próprio da relação ética do sujeito com o estrangeiro enquanto outro absoluto, relação que se escande até à substituição do sujeito ao outro, esclarecendo ainda a tensão entre o acolhimento, enquanto relação face a face, ética, e a hospitalidade, enquanto relação com outrem, política. Concluímos que a unidade de sentido da noção de hospitalidade se dá nessa tensão, na interrupção da política pela ética, sempre a partir de uma subjetividade acolhedora ao ponto de suportar o peso da miséria da crise migratória, da crise de hospitalidade vivenciada em uma ordem, a totalidade, que pressupõe todo um âmbito de concretude, que deve ser controlado por uma atividade consciente e pela garantia de leis e instituições orientadas para-o-outro e que a relação ética, como tese principal do autor, é aquilo que deve orientar a política. / [fr] Cette thèse aborde le thème de l hospitalité comme accueil chez Emmanuel Levinas, cherchant une unité de sens dans le concept d hospitalité dans son travail, hospitalité qui oscille entre éthique et politique. L ouvrage est divisé en trois chapitres qui situent le problème de l hospitalité, en général, et dans la pensée du philosophe: l hospitalité, la métaphysique Levinasienne et l hospitalité entre éthique et politique. Premièrement, l hospitalité est caractérisée comme problématique et comme problème philosophique, et dans la pensée Levinasienne. Ensuite, la notion de subjectivité de Levinas est présentée, ainsi que d autres notions importantes pour la constitution du sujet et la relation intersubjective depuis la naissance du sujet, le sujet accueillant et le sujet otage. Enfin, la question de l hospitalité est abordée comme quelque chose de plus original, typique de la relation éthique du sujet avec l étranger en tant qu autre absolu, une relation qui s étend jusqu à ce que le sujet s substitue pour l autre, clarifiant davantage la tension entre accueillir, en tant que relation face à face, l éthique et l hospitalité, en tant que relation aux autres, la politique. Nous concluons que l unité de sens dans la notion d hospitalité se produit dans cette tension, dans l interruption du politique par l éthique, toujours d une subjectivité accueillante au point de supporter le poids de la misère de la crise migratoire, de la crise de l hospitalité vécu dans un ordre, la totalité, qui suppose tout un champ de concret, qui doit être contrôlé par une activité consciente et par la garantie de lois et d institutions orientées vers l autre, et que le rapport éthique, comme thèse principale de l auteur, est ce qui devrait guider la politique.

[pt] Esta dissertação toma por objeto privilegiado de análise o livro L Intrus (O Intruso), do filósofo francês (1940) Jean-Luc Nancy. O livro mescla a escrita poética à reflexão propriamente filosófica e oferece, por conseguinte, o desafio de uma compreensão que tome em conta esse duplo viés. Partindo da abordagem inicial sobre o caráter do livro, é formulada a hipótese central de pesquisa: a questão do intruso, implícita no livro de Nancy, versa sobre o caráter desconstrutivo tanto do corpo social, quanto do corpo privado. Ambos funcionariam articulando-se numa dupla injunção, que no primeiro caso, apresenta-se numa investigação sobre o contato entre os termos intruso e estrangeiro, e no segundo caso, entre intruso e estranho. A pesquisa atua, ainda, num registro marcadamente contemporâneo. São as exigências, os problemas, as crises do mundo de hoje que norteiam as leituras do livro de Nancy, a compreensão da noção de hospitalidade e o redimensionamento da noção de subjetividade. / [en] This dissertation has, as its primary object of analysis, the book L Intrus (The intruder), by French philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy (1940). This book blends poetic writing to proper philosophical reflection, and therefore poses the challenge of a comprehension that considers this double perspective. Based on this first approach to the nature of the book, the central research hypothesis is formulated: the topic of the intruder, implicit in Nancy s book, deals with the deconstructive nature of both the social and the private bodies. Both would work by articulating into a double injunction, which, in the first case, is present in an investigation of the contact between the terms intruder and foreigner, and in the second case, between intruder and strange. Also, the research takes place on a markedly contemporary register. It is the demands, problems and crises of today s world that guide the readings of Nancy s book, the understanding of the notion of hospitality and the redimensioning of the notion of subjectivity.

[pt] Esta dissertação tem como objetivo analisar a experiência desenvolvida num espaço de escuta oferecido dentro do Judiciário a jovens que cometeram ato infracional. Numa vida em meio à violência e à pobreza, como pensar em subjetividade nesse território? Como jovens marginalizados em sua condição e vistos como marginais podem existir numa cultura que os desloca? O que fazer com os jovens delinquentes? A psicanálise nos aponta que eu existo a partir do olhar do outro. A experiência nos indica que a busca por existir e ocupar um lugar na cultura passa, sim, pelo reconhecimento através do olhar do Outro, quando ele pode falar e ser escutado. Levando em consideração que o jovem que delinque pede ajuda, entendemos como importante que ele responsabilize-se pelo seu ato, o que implica mudança subjetiva, possível apenas através do discurso. / [en] The purpose of this dissertation is to present some preliminary results of an experience developed in a space/place within the Judiciary with the objective of listening to youngsters that committed a legal infraction. How can one reflect upon subjectivity in a territory where violence and poverty is commonplace? How can youngsters that are marginalized and perceived as outcasts exist in a society that avoids them? What is to be done with the young delinquents? Psychoanalysis states that To exist is to be seen. Experience suggests that existing and occupying a place in a particular society unquestionably involve the acknowledgement of the Other; acknowledged, an individual can speak and be heard. Since the youngster that breaks the law asks for help, we think it is important that he feels responsible for his actions, which implies a subjective change that is only possible by means of discourse.

[pt] Pele: um modo de existência crossdresser é um experimento artístico-literário que parte do crossdressing como modo de existência e do corpo de um crossdresser como espaço de encontro e trânsito dos gêneros masculino e feminino. Aponta-se assim para uma tentativa de desfazer as fronteiras e para a construção de entre-lugares que discutem e ultrapassam a dialética em favor do hibridismo, sintetizando o entendimento da produção de subjetividade como fenômeno polifônico e plural. Errância, alteridade e estrangeiridade são postas em questão na investigação de uma identidade em deslocamento. Tais questões também atravessam a busca, por meio da escrita, da linguagem e de estruturas que se alteram, por serem descontínuas, múltiplas e não unificadas. No romance produzido, intitulado Pele, a voz da narradora-autora se decompõe para depois se multiplicar em outras, a ambivalência dos gêneros masculino e feminino confrontam a fixação definitiva, um estrangeiro erra por diferentes cidades, sacudido por vozes, à procura de espaços onde seja capaz de fruir, deslizar por identidades distintas, e um filho se desloca à procura de um pai prestes a desaparecer. O posfácio é constituído como memorial descritivo, que indica os caminhos percorridos durante essa produção. Referências teóricas que deram suporte para o processo de investigação, práticas de escrita e outros experimentos são apontados e discutidos, num cruzamento entre os movimentos artístico e pensante. / [en] Skin: a mode of existence crossdresser is an artistic-literary experiment that broaches crossdressing as a way of existence and the body of a crossdresser as a meeting and transit point of both male and female genders. It seeks to undo borders and to build in-between spaces that discuss and overcome the dialectics in favor of hybridity, synthesizing the understanding of subjectivity as a plural and polyphonic phenomenon. Deviation, otherness and foreignism are brought into question in this search for an identity in transit. Such questions also cross this search, through writing, language and shifting structures, for they are discontinuous, multiple and not unified. In the resulting novel, named Skin, the author-narrator s voice unravels to be multiplied into others, the ambivalence of male and female genders challenge established concepts; a foreigner wanders across different cities, moved by voices, in search of spaces where he might experiment and enjoy various identities; a son shifts searching for a father on the verge of disappearance. The foreword is a descriptive memorial, which indicates the paths followed during this writing. Theoretical references that sustained the investigation process, writing practices and other experiments are noted and discussed, in a crossing between artistic and cognitive movements.

[pt] Este trabalho se insere no contexto dos Estudos da Tradução contemporâneos, em consonância com as teorias pós-estruturalistas no campo dos Estudos Sociais. Adotando uma postura crítica que visa reaproximar teoria e prática, academia e mercado profissional, este estudo investiga a prática da tradução para legendas, entendida no âmbito da tradução audiovisual, a partir de uma perspectiva sistêmica e funcional. A base teórica e metodológica adotada tem como ponto de partida a Teoria dos Polissistemas e os fundamentos teóricos dos Estudos Descritivos de Tradução, os quais são aqui ampliados e adaptados de modo a incorporar o campo da tradução audiovisual. A tradução para legendas é então investigada a partir de um contexto em maior escala - no qual incluem-se as instituições, os profissionais e os procedimentos envolvidos na legendagem de materiais audiovisuais - sendo enfocadas unidades progressivamente menores: meios de veiculação, parâmetros técnicos, normas sintáticas e estilísticas. Finalmente, examinando o processo tradutório no campo da legendagem, o estudo culmina em reflexões sobre a dimensão singular do trabalho do tradutor - uma lacuna nos Estudos Descritivos da Tradução e pouco explorada nas teorias tradutórias de modo geral - e em considerações sobre a possibilidade de aliar ao paradigma descritivo pesquisas sobre a subjetividade inerente à prática tradutória. / [en] The present work was developed in the context of contemporary Translation Studies, in accordance with Post-Structuralist theories in the field of Social Studies. Adopting a critical view that attempts to reunite theory and practice, academy and industry, this study investigates the practice of subtitle translation - seen within the scope of audiovisual translation - based on a systemic and functional perspective. The theoretical and methodological bases are Polysystem Theory and the fundaments of Descriptive Translation Studies, which are here increased and adapted to comprehend the field of audiovisual translation. Subtitling is then studied from a large-scale context - including the institutions, professionals and proceedings involved in the subtitling of audiovisual materials - and focusing on progressively smaller units: media, technical parameters, syntactic and stylistic norms. Finally, by examining the process of translation in the area of subtitling, this study leads to reflections on the singular dimension of the translator s task - a gap in Descriptive Translation Studies and still little explored in translation theories in general - and to considerations on the possibility of combining the descriptive paradigm with research about the subjectivity intrinsic to translation.

[pt] Esta dissertação explora as formas modais de subjetividade que são atribuídas a pessoas LGBTI no discurso dos direitos humanos internacionais. Levam-se em consideração 8 vereditos do Comitê de Direitos Humanos, responsável pelo monitoramento do Pacto Internacional sobre Direitos Civis e Políticos, oferecendo-se uma leitura desconstrutiva dos mecanismos que participam da articulação dos sujeitos homossexuais e transgênero aí presentes. Sugere-se que as três representações encontradas, o homossexual legítimo, o ativista gay e o gay fora-da-lei podem ser entendidos como uma tentativa de despolitizar sexualidades desviantes, recobrindo-as sob arranjos normativos neoliberais e heterossexistas. À luz deste argumento, propõe-se uma leitura psicanalítica queer sobre a constituição subjetiva e corporal do sujeito, enfatizando as obras de Jacques Lacan, Judith Butler e Jacques Derrida. Ressaltando a contingência e a violência inerentes à organização libidinal, abre-se o caminho para uma compreensão radical da co-implicação da subjetividade e da comunidade política. Sob a égida dessa co-implicação, apresenta-se a noção de política de Jacques Rancière, revisando-a em relação ao conceito lacaniano do sinthome, de forma a propor um engajamento político-estético respaldado na quase-substãncia do sinthome, entendido como uma escrita contínua e contingente da intersecção entre o simbólico, o real e o imaginário. / [en] The dissertation explores the specific forms of subjectivity that are attributed to LGBTI individuals in international human rights law. It takes into consideration 8 rulings by the Human Rights Committee, the UN body charged with monitoring the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and advances a deconstructive reading of the specific articulation of homosexual and transgender subjects contained in them. It suggests that the three representations found, the legitimate gay, the gay activist and the gay outlaw can be understood as an attempt to depoliticize deviant sexualities, subsuming them under neoliberal, heterosexist hegemonic normative arrangements. In view of this argument, it proposes a queer psychoanalytic reading of subjective and bodily constitutions, emphasizing Jacques Lacan s, Judith Butler s and Jacques Derrida s works. In highlighting the contingency and violence inherent to libidinal organization, it paves the way to a radical understanding of the co-implication of subjectivity and community. In light of this co-implication, Jacques Rancière s notion of politics is presented and reworked in light of Lacan s concept of Sinthome, in a way that appears to allow for an aesthetic political engagement based on the quasi-substance of the Sinthome as a contingent, continuous grafting of Lacan s three metaphysical orders, the real, the imaginary and the symbolic.

[pt] O Design Computacional Generativo é uma forma de Design que consegue gerar uma quantidade virtualmente infinita de possíveis soluções e filtrá-las através de análises computacionais. Cada análise, experimenta e gradua uma demanda, que pode ser relacionada a diversos entes e como estes afetam e são afetados por um design. Dessa maneira, essas análises podem ser entendidas como uma forma de incluir de maneira integrada diversos fatores na síntese da forma do Design. Mesmo com todo esse potencial, as abordagens baseadas no Design Computacional Generativo ainda enfrentam dificuldades na análise e na inclusão de algumas demandas, principalmente naquelas de natureza subjetiva. Isso vem mudando devido a recente introdução de técnicas de Aprendizado Profundo no Design. Essas ferramentas conseguem captar conhecimentos implícitos através da sua aptidão para encontrar padrões em grandes quantidades de dados e replicá-los. Assim, elas podem replicar a avaliação de um designer humano. Essa pesquisa foca especificamente nas análises de critérios processados pelas capacidades humanas não simbólicas. Essas capacidades são aquelas que os humanos partilham com os animais vertebrados e permitem a compreensão de significados e o acionamento de ações sem a necessidade de linguagem. Essas capacidades possuem ao mesmo tempo um caráter objetivo, porque possuem uma base biológica comum a todos os humanos; e subjetivo, porque são influenciadas pelo estado psíquico, pelas motivações e pela experiência de um sujeito. Nesse contexto, o problema identificado é que sem um embasamento teórico essas técnicas acabam se limitando a um exercício fantasioso e ingênuo de automação de Design. Portanto, esta pesquisa parte da hipótese de que um embasamento teórico de conhecimentos da Teoria Pós- humana, da neurociência Conexionista e das Teorias de Fundamentos do Design possibilita que estímulos humanos não simbólicos possam ser incluídos de maneira efetiva na síntese da forma de processos de Design Computacional Generativo através de técnicas de Aprendizado Profundo. O objetivo do trabalho é compreender como a inserção dessas novas técnicas associadas a uma fundamentação teórica específica, vão propiciar a inclusão de fatores não- simbólicas na síntese da forma em processos de Design Computacional Generativo. Para atingir esse objetivo, a pesquisa propõe a elaboração de um conjunto de diretrizes, de uma estrutura metodológica conceitual e de um experimento prático que verifique o funcionamento da avaliação através de máquinas de Aprendizado Profundo. Esses três itens partem do estado da arte da interseção entre o Design Computacional Generativo e as técnicas de Aprendizado Profundo e se baseiam nos conhecimentos Pós-humanos, da neurociência Conexionista e das teorias de Fundamentos do Design. A pesquisa entrelaça dois temas atuais e significativos para o Campo do Design. De um lado, ela busca conhecimentos que preparem os designers para as transformações que a incorporação das técnicas recentes de inteligência artificial vem causando; e de outro, ela se insere nos esforços para que o Design seja um instrumento de transformação da sociedade através de uma reaproximação com as capacidades não simbólicas. / [en] Generative Computational Design is a form of Design that manages to generate a virtually infinite amount of possible solutions and filter them through computational analysis. Each analysis experiences and grades a demand, which can be related to different entities and how they affect and are affected by a design. In this way, these analyzes can be understood as a way of including in an integrated way several factors in the synthesis of the form of Design. Even with all this potential, approaches based on Generative Computational Design still face difficulties in analyzing and including some demands, especially those of a subjective nature. This has been changing due to the recent introduction of Deep Learning techniques in Design. These tools are able to capture implicit knowledge through their ability to find patterns in large amounts of data and replicate them. Thus, they can replicate the assessment of a human designer. This research specifically focuses on the analysis of criteria processed by non-symbolic human capacities. These capabilities are those that humans share with vertebrate animals and allow them the understanding of meanings and the triggering of actions without the need for language. These capacities have at the same time an objective character, because they have a biological basis common to all humans; and subjective, because they are influenced by a subject s psychic state, motivations and experience. In this context, the problem identified is that without a theoretical basis these techniques end up being limited to a fanciful and naive exercise in Design automation and simplistic approaches to style transfer. Thus, this research starts from the hypothesis that a theoretical foundation of knowledge from the Post- Human Theory, from the connectionist neuroscience and from the Fundamental Theories of Design can enable non-symbolic human factors to be effectively included in the synthesis of the form of processes of Generative Computational Design through Deep Learning techniques. The objective of this work is to understand how the insertion of these new techniques associated with a specific theoretical foundation will enable the inclusion of non-symbolic factors in the synthesis of form in Generative Computational Design processes. To achieve this objective, the research proposes the elaboration of a conceptual methodological framework based on the state of the art of the intersection between Generative Computational Design and Deep Learning techniques associated with Post-human knowledge, connectionist neuroscience and Design Foundations theories; as well as the verification of the operation of the technique through the execution of a practical experimental procedure. The research intertwines two current and significant themes for the Field of Design. On the one hand, it seeks knowledge that prepares designers for the transformations that the incorporation of recent artificial intelligence techniques has caused; and on the other hand, it is part of efforts to make Design an instrument for transforming society through a rapprochement with non-symbolic capacities.

[pt] Analisamos o fenômeno urbano a partir das origens da civilização e de seus fenômenos fundadores: a técnica e o poder sobre a natureza; a política e o poder de ordenação da vida social e do território onde ela ocorre; a reflexividade moral e o poder sobre a natureza implicada no corpo biológico humano. Nos três casos, o que está em jogo é o poder do homem sobre a natureza. No primeiro, sobre a natureza que, através das estruturas muradas que constrói, é excluída do ambiente onde habita. No segundo, sobre a natureza do outro com o qual convive. No terceiro, sobre aquela que o constitui. No primeiro capítulo, discute-se a recusa ao estado de natureza com Bataille; o poder com Nietzsche; a técnica e a tecnopolítica com Heidegger e Foucault e o Nome do Um e a Servidão Voluntária com La Boétie. No segundo, a relação simétrica entre o poder soberano e a vida nua através de Agamben. No terceiro, o laço libidinal que se estabelece entre as massas e o tirano com Freud. No quarto, a formação da consciência moral e a implicação dos sentimentos inconscientes de culpa nos fundamentos da civilização com Nietzsche e Freud; os reflexos disto nas formas da cidade e nas práticas estéticas e políticas da vida urbana com Le Corbusier, Bauman e Davis. As conclusões buscam demonstrar o modo como a relação de bando, apontada por Agamben como a relação política originaria, se reflete no estado político das sociedades contemporâneas / [en] The urban phenomenon is analized from the beginnings of civilization and its founding phenomena: the technical ability (téxne) and its power over nature; politics and its power to organize social life and the related settlement s territory; moral reflectiveness and its power over nature implied in the human biological body. In these three situations, what is at stake is man´s power over nature. Such power exerts itself , in the first one, by means of the walled structures whose building excludes from the surrounding environment one´s inhabited site. In the second case, by its interaction with the nature of the Other with which man is constrained to coexist. In the third situation, by man´s action over what constitutes himself. In the first chapter, with Bataille, we discuss the refusal of the state of nature; with Nietzsche, power; with Heidegger and Foucault, technics and technopolitics; with La Boétie, the Name of the One and Voluntary Servitude. In the second chapter, with Agamben, symmetrical relation between sovereign power and naked life. In the third chapter, with Freud, the established libidinal connection between the masses and the tyrant. In the fourth chapter, with Nietzsche and Freud, the moral conscience formation and unconscious guilt feelings implications on civilization s early stages. With Le Corbusier, Bauman and Davis, the results of this interaction in the forms of the city and in urban life´s aesthetical and political praxis. The conclusion attempts to demonstrate how the gang (bando) relationship, claimed by Agamben as the original political relation, reflects itself on the political state of today´s societies. / [fr] On analyse le phénomène urbain dès les origines de la civilisation et de ses phénomènes fondateurs: la technique et la maîtrise de la nature; la politique et le pouvoir d´organisation de la vie sociale et de l´aménagement du territoire où cette vie se déroule; la réflexivité morale et le pouvoir sur la nature qui est comprise dans le corps humain. Dans ces trois situations, ce qui est en jeu c´est le pouvoir de l´homme sur la nature. Dans la première, moyennant les structures murales, l´homme exclut la nature de l´endroit qu´il habite; dans le deuxième cas, ce pouvoir se manifeste par son interaction avec la nature de l´Autre, avec qui il est contraint de coexister; enfin, dans la troisième situation, par l´action de l´homme sur ce qui constitue sa propre nature. Au chapitre premier, avec Bataille, on discute le refus de l´état de la nature; avec Nietzsche, le pouvoir; avec Heidegger et Foucault, la technique et la technopolitique; avec La Boétie, le Nom de l´Un et la Servitude Volontaire. Au second chapitre, avec Agamben, on discute la relation symétrique entre le pouvoir souverain et la vie nue. Au troisième chapitre, avec Freud, on discute du lien libidinal établi entre les masses et le tyran. Au quatrième chapitre, avec Nietzsche et Freud, on parle de la formation de la conscience morale et des sentiments inconscients de culpabilité, et leurs effets sur les fondements de la civilisation; et avec Le Corbusier, Bauman et Davis, les conséquences de ce procès dans les formes de la ville et dans les pratiques esthétiques et politiques de la vie urbaine. La conclusion essaie de démontrer que le rapport de la bande, signalé par Agamben comme la relation politique originaire, se réfléchit dans la condition politique des sociétés contemporaines.
