[en] CLINIC IN THE TRENCHES: CHILDRENS THERAPEUTIC CONSULTATION IN A SLUM IN RIO DE JANEIRO / [pt] CLÍNICA NAS TRINCHEIRAS: SOBRE O ATENDIMENTO CLÍNICO A CRIANÇAS EM UMA FAVELA DO RIO DE JANEIRO

MARIA ALICE FORTES DE ALBUQUERQUE MARANHAO 29 May 2009 (has links)
[en] This dissertation aims to introduce a project of clinical psychology that takes place in a public school located inside a slum in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It begins with a consideration of what does a slum represent in the social imaginary, how it works in the production of subjectivity of its inhabitants and what are the influences that this context can bring to the constitution of a good enough environment to the development of a child. Child development is described by the views of D. W. Winnicott, who relates the childs interaction with the world based on how did the world interacted with it in early stages of its development. Contemporary social aspects, such as consume, fear, violence and the figures of authority weakness are related with the increase of violence as a valuable expression among children and teenagers. That is, a subjects constitution is within a family, which is anchored in a culture, located in a territory that produces its subjectivity and behavioral patterns. In the end, the psychologist is analyzed as a professional that by the use of its own tools, therapy, holding, technique and creativity, can act inside its specificity without having to dismiss its ethical and political beliefs.

[en] THE DISCOURSE OF INTERACTIVITY IN BRAZILIAN TELEVISION / [pt] O DISCURSO DA INTERATIVIDADE NA TELEVISÃO BRASILEIRA

RENATA GRANCHI STEIDEL DE TOLEDO 05 July 2004 (has links)
[en] The advent and popularization of interactive communications media, such as the internet, led to the dissemination of the discourse of interactivity. Such a discourse was absorbed by television broadcasters worldwide. The present dissertation had the goal of investigating how television viewers perceive the use of this discourse in Brazilian television. Primarily, the following are analyzed: (a) the relationship between television and television viewer; (b) the diffusion of the word interactivity; (c) the main TV shows that have been utilizing this discourse and, finally, (d) the concepts of multimedia and convergence. Lastly, the results of 10 face-to-face interviews with typical Brazilian male and female television viewers, who are also internet users, are presented. The analysis of the interviewees' replies revealed the existence of two distinct types of television viewers: the potentially interactive and the non-interactive ones. Both do not perceive the TV as an interactive communications medium. For them the discourse of Interactivity is associated with a new style of television shows that broadcasters are promoting.

[en] URBAN VIOLENCE AND VULNERABILITIES: THE YOUTH SPEECH AND NEWSPAPERS NEWS / [pt] VIOLÊNCIA URBANA E VULNERABILIDADES: O DISCURSO DOS JOVENS E AS NOTÍCIAS DE JORNAIS

CAROLINA SALOMAO CORREA 10 August 2010 (has links)
[en] This research reveals a concern about the contemporaneous youth and how they deal with the state of urban violence and vulnerability that they are submitted. Studies, researches and written reports developed in the last decade by UNESCO show the youth as a portion of population more vulnerable to problems like violence, unemployment, difficulty of access to good education, and also fail to have access to cultural benefits, leisure and sport. When we focalize on Latin American reality the data show that the youths between 15 and 24 years old belong to the portion of population more exposed to external violence such as homicide and traffic accidents. In Brazil, the total number of homicide occurred in the country approximately 56% happens to young people, it means that more than a half of victims are between 15 and 29 years old. This research started looking after news from newspapers related to situations of homicides and vulnerability within the youth population for taking into account the way statistical data are presented to everyday life. The news not only indicated the reality but were also used as a start point to discuss with the young people from different social classes about their condition in the contemporaneousness. These meetings were called conversations circles. Through the arguments of the young people within the conversation circles, this research aimed to point out the manners the youth undergo the violence, a reality full of risks and vulnerabilities. Finally, the aim of this research was not only to promote a critical thinking about the way the urban violence and vulnerability affect the inner experience of the young people, but also to offer a knowledge to the professionals that work with young people for creating interventions to prevent these problems. The intention of this research was also to promote public policy directed to youth, a field full of disputes which claims for urgent solutions from the professionals of this area of studies.

[en] BRAZIL BEYOND ANYTHING! NARRATIVE AND IDENTITY CONSTRUCTION : THE COMBATANT PARATROOPER ON BRAZILIAN ARMY / [pt] BRASIL ACIMA DE TUDO! NARRATIVA E CONSTRUÇÃO DE IDENTIDADES: O COMBATENTE PÁRA-QUEDISTA DO EXÉRCITO BRASILEIRO

DANIELA CALDEIRA BRUNO 10 March 2011 (has links)
[en] This thesis investigates the process of identity construction of paratrooper officers serving the Brazilian Army with special attention to narratives of life history. The corpus of data was generated through interviews carried out by the researcher with 10 paratrooper officers stationed in the 26th Parachute Infantry Battalion , besides another interview with an officer who had served in the battalion. Taking a vision of speech as a form of social action; identity as a socioconstructed, relational, dynamic, situated, fluid, contextual and procedural phenomenon; narrative as a situated construction of the experience, guided by the narrator s affective filters through which he/she organizes his personal experience inscribed in the social order, the investigation focused at the processes of identities construction of individuals who practice, experience and share a code of values in a particular context: the paratrooper community of the Brazilian Army. Also, the researched aimed at understanding how the paratroopers make use of such values to develop parts of their autobiographies taking into account the contemporary scene in which their lives occur. The focus of the analysis rests on the dynamics between social and individual agency, enabling the dialogue between the social context and subjectivity. In the analysis, special attention was given to the construction of the point of such narratives, as well as the instantiation of evaluations and resolutions. In turn, these narratives are responsible for building the paratrooper set of beliefs, once they repeatedly reaffirm and sustain the values shared among the community studied. The researcher discussed the coercive forces of the group in the construction of collective identities of its members and how these forces require performances of identity at the same time that they provide group members with both a sense of belonging and the security of believing knowing who they are. It was noticed that among the coercive forces active in the paratrooper community, marked mainly by the evidence of the physical, emotional and moral attributes valued in that ecology, that the act of narrating and summing up past experiences and achievements rises a sense of self, expressed vividly by the narrators in the stories they tell. The paratroopers are built as main and heroic characters in their own narratives. This notion of socioconstructed self was understood as a dramatic effect arising from the narrative action. It is during the sociointeractional performance, that is, the vivid and pulsating narrative scene, that the paratroopers show ontological sensations and existential feelings, understanding themselves as professionals driven by the paratroopers’ ideals whose attributes of superiority, they say, are intended to their most precious possession, the latter understood by paratroopers as the unconditional willingness to defend and maintain national integrity.

[en] THE MANY FACES OF MADAME SATÃ: AESTHETICS AND POLITICS OF THE BODY / [pt] AS MÚLTIPLAS FACES DE MADAME SATÃ : ESTÉTICAS E POLÍTICAS DO CORPO

GEISA RODRIGUES LEITE DA SILVA 26 April 2011 (has links)
[en] Madame Satã is no doubt one of the most famous representative of the malandragem from the first half of XX century. But the character includes, indeed, features that insert him into other categories as, black, homosexual and delinquent. This study aims to reveal a complex process that imbricates symbolic appropriation (and re-signification) of the malandro, and the applying of biopolitical strategies over the out of normative bodies. The identity unfoldings of Madame Satã suggests also a political potency to be explored. Over the years, the character interpretations go from the most conservative to the most transgressors, breaking out, besides the different contexts to which they belong, the distinct aesthetical and political projects delineated. The main purpose of this work is to analyse Madame Satã’s course and to promote a reflection about the power of body’s instrumentalization, taking the contemporary subjectivities production as the horizon for reflection. As well as his acting age, two specific moments are analyzed: The seventies, when he was put back on the media scene and published an autobiography, and the XXI century, after the release of the film Madame Satã (2002), by Karim Aïnouz.

[en] DISPLACEMENT POETICS: ARTISTIC PRACTICES ON THE EVERYDAY BODY / [pt] POÉTICA DE DESLOCAMENTO: PRÁTICAS ARTÍSTICAS NO CORPO COTIDIANO

LUCAS VIEIRA DEMPS JORGE RIBEIRO 28 September 2020 (has links)
[en] The research investigates, through a theoretical and practical approach, the relationship between the aesthetic dimension of the human sensible experience and the phenomenon of production of subjectivities – in a dialog with the field of thought on aesthetics –, analysing a possibility, offered by the experimentation in contemporary artistic practices, of flexibilization, or even rupture, with the visibility and materiality regimes that configurate man s shared reality. A set of artistic practices I conducted throughtout the research is taken as reference, including works from artists such as Marina Abramovic and Ulay, Chris Burden, Orlan, Stelarc and Tehching Hsieh, whose poetics consist essentially on the intertwining of daily processes and artistic practices; a displacement poetics. It is understood that through this aesthetic production it is possible to contemplate strategies of the (subject s) body analogous, in specific terms, to an idea of processes of subjectivation that allow the subject to have an experience of displacement of self onto itself, a problematization of the very process of constitution of a subjectivity. This way, an understanding of the means through which aesthetics may configurate the subject s mode of existence is intended, delimitating the way they operate in the world through its manifestations, as is the questioning of the possibility of reconfiguration of such operations through the aesthetic formative intention of contemporary visual and plastic arts.

[pt] TRANSPONDO MUROS: UM ESTUDO SOBRE A CRIATIVIDADE E A EMERGÊNCIA DO SUJEITO / [en] TRANSPOSING WALLS: A STUDY ABOUT THE CREATIVITY AND THE EMERGENCY OF THE SUBJECT

FABIANA DANTAS GERALDI 24 October 2016 (has links)
[en] This study aims to raise reflections about the importance of creative exercise in emotional development of children and adolescents, residents of communities, in the light of Donald W. Winnicott s theory, highlighting the themes of violence and prejudice, significantly present in their daily lives. This theme emerged from the experience of the researcher as the coordinator of a social project, whose main objective is to strengthen, through artistic language, the identity of children and adolescents exposed to violence and social neglect. Based on the results observed during the process of this work, the desire to reflect on the importance of the creative process has arisen. The use of art can represent an effective way of strengthening the uniqueness, overcoming the symbolic emptying which is present in the excluded part of a divided city. Based on this assumption, this work will examine the creative process developed on a social project aimed for a community in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, which culminated in an artistic installation entitled The Wall.

[pt] DO CORPO À MODA: PRÁTICAS E MÉTODOS EM DESIGN PARA CORPOS PLURAIS / [en] FROM BODY TO FASHION: PRACTICES AND METHODS IN DESIGN FOR PLURAL BODIES

LUIZA FERRO COSTA MARCIER 16 August 2022 (has links)
[en] In this dissertation, we investigate the notions of body, design and fashion articulated to the production of subjectivity in the field of design, through methods and practices of drawing, especially those of creation in fashion. We started with a bibliographic and imagery review to raise and analyze concepts related to the themes and expand the definitions contained in the research object. We present drawing as an action and as a growing territory in methods and practices capable of creating relationships and encounters as forms of engagement within the field of design. In order to do so, we use the works of Richard Serra, Oskar Schlemmer, Frida Kahlo, Auguste Rodin and Henri Matisse and the reading of Michel Foucault, David Le Breton, Gilda Mello e Souza, Georg Simmel, among other authors, as well as the review of the methods and practices developed in the discipline Creation in Fashion between 2007 and 2021, at the Department of Arts and Design, at PUC Rio, concluding that practices that involve the body and thought are fundamental for an expanded perception of design.

[en] REFLECTIONS ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF MOTHERHOOD AND ITS CHALLENGES TODAY / [pt] REFLEXÕES SOBRE A CONSTRUÇÃO DA MATERNIDADE E SEUS PERCALÇOS NA ATUALIDADE

ISABELA MEDINA F A DOS S GUIMARAES 09 June 2021 (has links)
[en] The woman s idealization of the subjective experience of motherhood contrasts with the new feminine ideals which are no longer restricted to motherhood and marriage. Therefore, the demands arising from this new model of motherhood are in constant conflict with the female conquests of the last decades. With this perspective, in the present work we will approach aspects concerning the psychic resonances and the subjective changes that are molded in the new mother after the birth of a child, which are fundamental to the process of motherhood construction. Our intention will be to point out that the early days of motherhood inaugurate for women an unpredictable and deep psychic work, anchored both in their personal history and in the social context in which they live, since becoming a mother is not free from the assumptions of her time period.

[en] POLITICS: BOUNDARIES, LIMITS AND SUBJECTIVITIES / [pt] POLÍTICA: PRODUÇÃO DE FRONTEIRAS, LIMITES E SUBJETIVIDADES

VICTOR COUTINHO LAGE 05 August 2011 (has links)
[en] This dissertation proposes an alternative perspective on modernity and modern politics. To that task, it is divided in five major parts: in addition to the introduction and the conclusion, there are three central chapters devoted to texts from five thinkers considered classics. The first of these chapters problematizes the modern subject through some of Montaigne’s and Descartes’ texts. The next one goes from the boundaries of the modern subject to the boundaries of the modern State: with Machiavelli and Hobbes, it is discussed the production of the State in spatio-temporal articulations. Then, the chapter dedicated to Kant claims that subject, State and system are epicenters of modernity and that in Kant are expressed, in even more complexity, both the aporias between Montaigne and Descartes and between Machiavelli and Hobbes. Working in the limits, origins and ends, of these epicenters, the interpretation proposed of the Kant’s three critiques and of his political writings aims at interpreting him as the highest expression of modernity’s insoluble contradictions in the relation between the universal and the particular. This text’s perspective works in the intimate imbrications among modern subject, modern State and modern international system. Only this way can consolidate its central claim that could be formulated as follows: politics is the production of limits, boundaries and subjectivities in the interaction with otherness. At the end, the text intends to provide with many conscious and unconscious openings, without losing sight that many closures will also be promoted, consciously and unconsciously
