No. of bitstreams: 1 Sylvia Karla Gomes Barbosa.pdf: 983730 bytes, checksum: 2a6fa9cdd07808869d53919e24449384 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-05-22 / The aim of this dissertation work is to study the social, economic and infrastructural barriers of Small Farmers Associations of Engenho Velho II and Engenho Sitio I, located in the municipality of Paudalho, with poor social capital built in these Communities over the years. Social capital is a theme broadly discussed and that, since the 1980s, has become a kind of panacea for all social problems. Thinking about it, it was decided to extract from James Coleman and Robert Putnam’s writings, authors of great importance on the issue of social capital, the main variables that these authors considered important for identifying social capital in rural communities. A questionnaire was designed, covering all important variables, and applied in the two communities, that is, seven interviews in Engenho Velho II and 20 in Engenho Sitio I. For the analysis of results of interviews, besides answers of the questionnaires, one used field work and comparative methods, thus getting good support to analyse indicators of trust and reciprocity, knowledge, social norms and sanctions, networks and civic and community engagement. It was observed that both communities are involved in social, economic and infrastructural barriers what restricts the formation of social capital for promoting the local development. In view of these restrictions, it is possible to foresee that the broad development in terms of roads, good transportation, better schools and health services are postponed. Housing and family development are also suffering the consequences of this lack of capital formation in terms of poor education, lack of good agricultural production, low income profiles and low employment opportunities. Besides this, results of interviews showed that families are skeptful of public help that could come to solve these problems as those from the Municipality and public programmes of development. These low profiles of social capital show the difficulties that affect families and members of these communities and postpone the basic social, economic and infrastructural resources necessary to promote the sustainable development of these communities.

Abstract: Sports and social clubs are one of the most traditional systems of community associations in the Brazilian society. Born from the interest in the physical, sports and social aspects of leisure, these associations represent a field of professional activity of great value to Physical Education teachers. Despite the historical importance of clubs and the fact that they represent the foundation of sports organizations in the country, there are few studies that analyze such institutions. In this study, we attempt to put into context the historical pathway of clubs by understanding the origin and inception of this form of community association and how sports and social clubs operate today. Throughout their history, clubs have been through changes and adaptations to meet the needs of modern society in urban and industrial areas. In that sense, we observed a paradigm shift in club management, since clubs are becoming an area for various activities, providing not only activities focused on specific leisure interests but also services. Therefore it was possible to better understand the role played by Physical Education teachers in this environment. This is a qualitative research study that uses the content analysis investigation through semi-structured interviews, and as theoretical reference the "Pensamento Sistêmico" as proposed by Esteves de Vasconcelos (2007). The sample included six clubs in the city of Campinas that were chosen trough their important hole in this city. The participating subjects were the presidents of these clubs. Trough analyses and inferences it was possible to conclude that the social clubs have the community association (associativismo) as a basis, and that changes and adaptations are frequently recurring in these associations due to society and club members actual demands. The research points that social clubs constitute a major performance field for the professional Physical Educator, standing out for its diversification.

Spång, Mimmi January 2022 (has links)
In this study, local community associations have been studied based on their role in the hospitality industry. More specifically, two local community associations in Värmland have been compared with each other. This is to be able to see what challenges there are, and in what ways history is conveyed to attract visitors. My purpose has been to study the challenges of local community associations and opportunities to position themselves in the arena of the hospitality industry with the help of strategies for communicating cultural heritage. The study then contributes to an increased understanding of cultural heritage tourism and local associations. My questions have been based on finding out the local challenges of local community associations in the hospitality industry and what is required for them to be able to become a stronger player in the hospitality industry. They have also been about how local associations focus on attracting visitors and what strategies can strengthen the development of the businesses. The study addresses important concepts such as cultural heritage, eco-museum, storytelling and events that are linked to the activities of local associations. The study was conducted through qualitative interviews with respondents from local associations and public organizations, which was also supplemented with content analysis from several of the respondents' websites and documents. The data collection has generated information about how local associations work with their activities and how public organizations collaborate with local associations in different ways. I have started from a thematic analysis to be able to take a closer look at patterns, similarities and differences in the activities of the local associations. The results of my study show that Brunskogs- and Kristinehamns & Varnums local associations have both similarities and differences in how they work. Brunskog has many advantages in that they are a larger association in comparison with Kristinehamns & Varnum. However, all local associations face similar challenges. The study shows that the non-profit work is challenging as it is difficult to attract new members and to be able to develop the homesteads, with a lack of resources. The people who are mainly involved in the local community associations are older people, which means that the associations have a poorer digital presence and a poorer knowledge of society. It is mainly younger people who do not know about local associations, but they are needed to be able to continue the conservation work and contribute with new knowledge. The study also shows that depending on the resources and knowledge of local community associations, visitors are attracted in several different ways. Marketing, storytelling and events are important strategies in attracting visitors. The strategies also develop how cultural heritage is conveyed.

Hsieh, Min Feng Unknown Date (has links)
This thesis is started from the problem which the researcher met in practice work. The researcher would like to know what the community function in theory and policy is?And it is effected by what factors(Use the community type、the relationship in the community association and neighborhood office、the relationship in the community association and government to confer)? What is the difference between community function in theory and in policy?According to these questions, this thesis have seven assumptions: Assumption 1:The community function in theory is related to the community function in policy. Assumption 2:Different community type influence community function in theory. Assumption 3:Different community type influence community function in policy. Assumption 4:The better the relationship of the community association and neighborhood office is, the better the community function in theory is. Assumption 5:The better the relationship in the community association and the government is, the more is the community function in theory is. Assumption 6:The better the relationship in the community association and neighborhood office is, the better the community function in policy is. Assumption 7:The better the relationship in the community association and the government is, the better the community function in the policy is. This thesis is a quantification research, The population is 331 community associations(On a basis of September 2009).The questionnaire survey delivered 256 pieces. There are 161 pieces is applicable,26pieces are not in 187 recycled questionnaires. A Recycled ratio is 62%. Anyhow, we survey 101 community associations, there are 35 pieces answered by the organization president ,38 pieces answered by the organization manager, the others answered 28 pieces. This survey find out the community association and neighborhood office will exit together in the future. And the relationship of the community association and the neighborhood office is good, and so is the community association and government. In conclusion, the community association is satisfied with the government policy, and the development direction is the same. This survey find that the community function in theory the community function in policy is not related. Different community type influence community function in theory and in policy. Besides the better the relationship of the community association and neighborhood office, the better the community function in theory.

Applikation för administration av samfällighet / Application for administration of community association

Johansson, Andreas January 2014 (has links)
Dyviks community is located in Nynäshamns municipality and consists of a total of 86 properties. The community is maintained by the community association that all property owners are members. The association works on a volunteer basis. The association’s executive managing instance, the board, works with administrating the association members, properties and estates. These administration tasks have been carried out in a manual and time-consuming manner. The board has therefore requested a digitalized system that can perform many of the administra-tion tasks with a more automated method and increased reliability. The project’s aim has been to develop a system to streamline the board’s administrative duties. The project has meant that with the working model CDIO design a fitting solution that meets the concerns and requirements identified during the project. The development of the solution has touched all aspects such as analyzing the problem through a pilot study, designing and implementing the system, testing it and developing a plan for how the system should be deployed. Each requirement and function has been implemented with an incremental working procedure. The result was a system with the most necessary functionality implemented. The system allows board members to administer the association's interests (sections, berths, members and properties) and generate reports and members' bills. The project has also resulted in an evaluation of how the system will process personal data in accordance with the legal issues that exist, such as the Data Protection Act, and a rough economic operation plan.

VA-system i omvandlingsområden - vad kostar de?

Näslund, Olov January 2016 (has links)
More and more people choose to live permanently in houses built as vacation houses, thereby creating transition areas. The increased occupancy in the houses tends to lead to larger water usage and often demands improved wastewater systems. There are three main ways in which this demand usually is met: each property builds an on-site system, the properties jointly build a facility through a community association, or the properties connect to the municipality’s network. The aim was to evaluate the costs of water and wastewater systems in transition areas in Sweden. This was done by studying five different improved transition areas and comparing the estimated costs with the actual cost of the systems. Both total investment costs and cost per property were calculated, as well as capital costs, and operation and maintenance costs. How the municipalities choose the sanitation system to be implemented was also a part of the study.  It was much more expensive for the municipality to build pipes than for a community association. One reason for this was shallower pipe placement. Another conclusion was that if part of a sanitation system already exists and is in good shape, this will lead to lower investment costs for a new system using that part. The operation costs for on-site systems on each property will be much higher for a family living there permanently, compared to that of a family living there only part time. Municipalities in Sweden generally do not compare different types of systems before deciding on an improved water and sanitation system in a transition area. Instead they almost always build a transmission line for water and wastewater to connect the area to an already existing centralized system.

Občanská sdružení využitelná k řešení mimořádných událostí a krizových situací / Community association usable for resolution of emergency events and crisis situations

KONVALINKOVÁ, Naďa January 2007 (has links)
The theme of my graduation thesis is {\clqq}Community association usable for resolution of emergency events and crisis situations`` and I have choosen that because of its important. I almost was not able to imagine how spread theme this is. I have known some Community associations in the Czech Republic but I have never known more information about its work expect they work to help people in emergency events and crisis situations. That`s all. Nowadays we all meet strange situations and risks almost every day. It can be caused by human factor (wildfire, outflow chemicals) or by nature`s effects (earthquake, strong storm, flood) and we all are unprotected. And we also don{\crq}t know when human factor or nature`s effects attack again. In these situations we have some State Services which constitute Crisis management and Integration Rescue System to analyse, solve and to help people in these situations. Next help for people affected by emergency events and crisis situations are Community associations usable for their resolutions. And this is the most important point my work is all about. All af these associations are made to help people. That is the main reason to rise it. My work in my graduation thesis is to analyse out present-day situation and methods of registered procedures. I wanted to discover people{\crq}s awareness and knowledges about these associations and finally to evaluate time behaviour of the real situation with model simulations.
