Previous issue date: 2017-05-26 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / This work aims to present global history as a subfield of history. It constituted itself in the three
last decades incorporating the great issues of the final years of the twentieth century, and
seeking to understand also the significance of the events of the 2000s. Therefore, the object of
analysis is the global historiography produced between 1990 and 2010. The first chapter will
seek to analyze a set of works of this trend in order to present his outlines: tasks, sources,
methods, periodization and the strategies of narrative construction that capture and explain
globalization; thus exposing thematic preferences of the authors. The second chapter asks about
historiographical antecedents that led to the formation of this trend, and traces the history of the
tension between cosmopolitanism and parochialism in several historiographical traditions,
underlining the first’s suppression since the nineteenth century and its return in the second half
of the twentieth century in the current of world history, from where global history emerges. The
third chapter addresses the modernity/postmodernity debate documenting how it was present in
the formation of global studies in the 1980s and of global history itself in the 1990s. By
exposing the debate and analyzing its constitutive role in the trend of global history, it will be
possible to show how the latter overcame the dichotomies of the first, incorporating: the critique
of eurocentrism and of the nation-state – from postmodern thought; and fundamentally the
metanarrative as the mode of writing the history of humanity – from modern thought. Thus this
subfield of history recovers and actualizes a modern element through postmodern experience,
the result of which is a global metanarrative, more prepared to face the dangers of Eurocentric
and nation-state discourse, and more adequate to provide historical meaning in a globalized
world.
diversas tradições historiográficas, sublinhando a supressão do primeiro desde o século XIX e
última superou as dicotomias do primeiro, incorporando: a crítica do eurocentrismo e do

2. / Abstract: The research aims to understand how Otfried Höffe based on his practical philosophy, which considers universal moral value to a global society and what are the implications of this reasoning in a cosmopolitan sense of moral education. We prepared the following questions: 1. How Otfried Höffe understands the moral foundation of human action? 2. According Otfried Höffe in global society is possible to design a way of life supported by ethical principles and universal moral values (rational)? 3. Given the political and ethical thought of Otfried Höffe, what role should be assumed by a cosmopolitan sense of moral education? The hypothesis is that according to Otfried Höffe, to become effective the idea of a World Federal Republic, moral education (institutional) must be based on universal principles categorical, and also need to train people to overcome cultural differences and shared values in a rethink globalized society, such as citizenship, democracy, social justice and public space. / Doutorado / Filosofia e História da Educação / Doutor em Educação

Lyrisme et cosmopolitisme dans l’œuvre poétique d’Andrée Chedid / lyrism and cosmoplitism in andree chedid's poetic workMountapmbeme Pemi Njoya, Yaya 24 September 2016 (has links)
Through the thesis: "Lyricism and cosmopolitanism in Chedid’s poetical works", we propose to look at the opening(s) world(s) in the poetry of Chedid. This thesis develops the pathic experience and expression at the heart of the text and therefore emphasizes on the lyrical pole of the subject so as to highlight the cosmopolitan resonance of her effusions. Through a combination of the "lyricological", theme and phenomenological approaches, the study shows that the dimensions of the lyrical expression in the work of Andrée Chedid, do not limit themselves to the exclusive presentation of the subject’s emotional presence, but rather writes it down (with respect to its trajectory and experiences) in a permanent projection towards world (s). Therefore, the idea is to split up lyricism through the themes of memory and intimacy which root the poetical word in the movements of the authorial subject’s soul. Thus, thanks to the different enunciation postures and experiences of time, death and existence, on can note that the lyrical subject develops a strong empathy for the human condition. In this sense, his “decentration” paves the way to the harmonious coexistence with the alter ego and the inclusion of the otherness in the body appears as one of the foundations of the poetics of Chedid. Thus, her works, like most Francophones texts, declined a close relationship with the universe of reference. By crossing the landscape, the study reveals the realistic and utopic impact of the world projected by the poet; and the thesis concludes that Andrée Chedid, through literature, suggests ways of renewal in human potential, of new hope based on the praise of freedom, love, dream and life.

Echiniscus Virginicus Complex: The First Case of Pseudocryptic Allopatry and Pantropical Distribution in TardigradesGąsiorek, Piotr, Jackson, Kathy J., Meyer, Harry A., Zając, Krzysztof, Nelson, Diane R., Kristensen, Reinhardt M., Michalczyk, Łukasz 01 January 2019 (has links)
Mainly because of the problems with species delineation, the biogeography of microscopic organisms is notoriously difficult to elucidate. In this contribution, variable nuclear and mitochondrial DNA markers were sequenced from individual specimens representing the Echiniscus virginicus complex that are morphologically indistinguishable under light microscopy (five populations from the temperate Eastern Nearctic and 13 populations from the subtropical and tropical zone). A range of methods was used to dissect components of variability within the complex (Bayesian inference, haplotype networks, Poisson tree processes, automatic barcode gap discovery delineations, principal components analysis and ANOVA). We found deep divergence between the temperate Eastern Nearctic E. virginicus and pantropical Echiniscus lineatus in all three genetic markers. In contrast, intraspecific genetic variation was very low, regardless of the geographical distance between the populations. Moreover, for the first time, statistical predictions of tardigrade geographical distributions were modelled. The factor determining the allopatric geographical ranges of deceptively similar species analysed in this study is most likely to be the type of climate. Our study shows that widespread tardigrade species exist, and both geographical distribution modelling and the genetic structure of populations of the pantropical E. lineatus suggest wind-mediated (aeolian) passive long-distance dispersal.

Les batucadas en France : incorporations et représentations du Brésil au XXIe siècle / Batucadas in France : incorporations and images of Brazil in the 21st century / As batucadas na França : incorporações e imagens do Brasil no século XXIAlves Fernandes, Ana Paula 12 December 2018 (has links)
In France, from the 1970s, the first percussive orchestras called "batucadas" appeared. Inspired by rhythms of brazilian popular culture (mainly samba, samba-reggae and maracatu), these are organized as associations (Journal Officiel des Associations) and they have experienced a considerable increase since the early 2000’s, when the French musical scene began to favor "world music". First, the ascendancy of the batucada in France is explained by its musical form - group practice - and its aesthetic characteristics linked to a "popular" dimension, little present in French music and society in general. However, another factor fuels the interest of French-speaking percussionists. The representations to which this music is associated, through an internationally diffused image: Brazil is a country where "racial democracy" exists. Nowadays, the theme of "cultural diversity" is defended by several actors, integrating a large part of European political and institutional discourses. In this context, the attraction to the batucada - music that refers to a proxy for the "Other" - can reveal the dynamics proper to the society where it is "incorporated". The encounters between Brazilian percussionists and "Gringos" are intersected by historically constructed power relationships between Africa, Brazil and Europe; between aesthetic pleasures and identity resellers that express themselves "in situation", the speeches and performances of the Francophone practitioners construction.

[en] GLOBALIZATION, GLOBALISM, AND POLITICAL SUBORDINATION OF THE NATIONAL STATE THE THOUGHT OF ULRICH BECK / [pt] GLOBALIZAÇÃO, GLOBALISMO E SUBORDINAÇÃO POLÍTICA DO ESTADO NACIONAL NO PENSAMENTO DE ULRICH BECKALEXANDRE DE OLIVEIRA DEMIDOFF 15 May 2019 (has links)
[en] This paper aims through the thought of Ulrich Beck, to analyze how the rise of globalization has affected the Westphalian model of nation state. It is exposed as the nation states have been characterized as an area of intense political wrangling since the outbreak of the revolutions of the eighteenth century. Then it held the delimitation of the theoretical framework of Ulrich Beck in order to identify how the author makes the link between his theory of risk society and the impact of globalization on the functioning of national states. By differentiating between the concepts of globalization and globalism is held demystification of certain beliefs, and you can understand, as has been viable economic agents impose a political subordination of national states to their market interests. Globalism is identified as an ideology and globalization as an irreversible phenomenon and plural. Since then it appears that the power struggles that took place historically within the boundaries of the national state become unbalanced intensely. Thus committed to the democratic functioning of the policy of national states. Phenomena that are defined in the view of Ulrich Beck characterized as real social changes that affect the states today. These changes force a reconfiguration with respect to territorial linkage of political power. Based on this finding opens up new questions about post-national institutional forms, which will compensate the deflation political and the deficit democratic experienced by the contemporary nation states.

Guilherme de Almeida e a construção da identidade paulista / Guilherme de Almeida and the construction of identity of the people from São PauloUlrich, Aline 10 March 2008 (has links)
This research has as main focus the observation of land and of people from São Paulo as being the artistic point on Guilherme de Almeida\'s literature. It comprehends poet\'s reflections about the cultural identity of people and about the city itself, based on articles from the newspaper \"O Estado de S. Paulo\", by emphasizing the difference between the cosmopolitan and the traditionalist São Paulo. For that purpose is analyzed in his literary production after the Modernism movement and its esthetical and ideological transformation as well, and the strains revealed by that change are evidenced: the cosmopolitan and the traditionalist views, the author\'s concerns in understanding the people from Brazil by defining the people from São Paulo, and the introduction of author on a Bandeirante line and the creation of the Bandeirante mith.

Andlighet och religiositet på Fryshuset : en inblick i en senmodern och global förändringskontext / Spirituality and religion at Fryshuset : a glimpse of a late modern and global contextKjellsdotter Rydinger, Maria January 2010 (has links)
<p>The aim of this study is to investigate the components of religion and spirituality in the specific context of "Fryshuset" – a multicultural and glocal arena. Against the backdrop of contemporary researchers such as Heelas and Woodhead and their hypothesis about the "spiritual revolution" and a "new spirituality", as well as the postmodern discussion about "the return of God", this study discusses how religious change can be understood in the context of Fryshuset.</p><p>The theoretical point of departure is taken in a hermeneutical method where Fleck´s theory about "thought-collective" and Gidden´s theory about the "duality of structure" are used in order to understand and describe the dialectical relationship between individual and social structure.</p><p>The method used in this study is qualitative. The interviews are made of six individuals representing different social projects at Fryshuset.</p><p>By analyzing the material from the field study through theories on religious change, three areas are identified:</p><ol><li>"The subjective turn"</li><li>Religion and spirituality</li><li>A Cosmopolitan interpretation of life </li></ol><p>The result of this study is that the religiosity among the interviewed can be described through Taylor’s understanding of the "subjective turn". Furthermore they are also part of a "double subjective turn" understood as an internalized subjective turn. Despite the fact that a lot of what the informants describe corresponds to Heelas and Woodheads theories of "subjective life spirituality" it is not relevant to talk about a "spiritual revolution". However, according to Beckford´s theories about religion as a "cultural resource" it can be described as a kind of new spirituality which is used in order to act and think global. The individuals use religion and spirituality as a cultural resource in their formation of a larger cosmopolitan interpretation of life.</p>
