This study aimed at investigating the contributions of an English Language 2 course so as to develop future English teacher who attended the fourth semester of their English Language undergraduation course. To be more specifically, it aimed at understanding the critical literacy process that the four teachers experienced in the second semester of the 2009 school year. The course on focus intended to combine the advantages and convenience of cyberspace and the English foreign language teaching-learning. To reach the goals, the theoretical underpinning was grounded on Beliefs (BARCELOS, 2004; PITEL 2006; GARBUIO, 2007, GIMENEZ, 2007), English language teaching (PAIVA, 1998; ALMEIDA FILHO, 1998; LEFFA, 2003; NICHOLLS, 2001),teacher development (LEFFA, 2001, 2006) and digital literacy (SOARES, 2002; XAVIER, 2010). The qualitative methodological research approach was based on Symbolic Interactionism (MOREIRA, 2002). The research context was the Federal University of Alagoas and involved 04 teachers in training, the teacher and me as a researcher. This study sought to involve the students to search for new horizons in the foreign language teaching context by making them getting in touch with and becoming aware of the several existing forms of technological resources used in teaching English. In doing so, we promoted their digital literacy. The outcomes revealed that beliefs about teaching and learning process are influenced by context and other external factors. The outcomes also revealed that it is necessary to take into consideration these beliefs in order to promote critical and digital literacy. / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Este estudo teve por objetivo investigar a formação pré-serviço de professores de inglês com foco na disciplina Língua Inglesa 2 (LI2), oferecida no segundo ano de graduação do Curso de Letras. O objetivo da pesquisa foi investigar a contribuição da disciplina na formação dos futuros professores de inglês da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal de Alagoas (Fale/UFAL). Mais especificamente, almejei entender o processo de letramento crítico que os futuros professores vivenciaram no semestre 2009.2. O semestre em questão visava unir as facilidades e comodidade do ciberespaço ao processo ensino-aprendizagem de Língua Estrangeira. Para entender a formação almejada, a fundamentação teórica desta pesquisa se apoiou em crenças (BARCELOS, 2004; PITELI 2006; GARBUIO, 2007, GIMENEZ, 2007), na discussão sobre ensino de língua inglesa (PAIVA, 1998; ALMEIDA FILHO, 1998; LEFFA, 2003; NICHOLLS, 2001), formação de professores (LEFFA, 2001, 2006) e letramento digital (SOARES, 2002; XAVIER, 2010). A pesquisa é qualitativa com bases no interacionismo simbólico (MOREIRA, 2002). O contexto de pesquisa foi a universidade Federal de Alagoas e envolveu 04 professores em formação, a professora e eu como pesquisadora. Trata-se de um trabalho visando um envolvimento dos/as alunos/as na busca de novos horizontes no ensino de línguas, a fim de que nós, professoras, e os/as aprendizes se inteirassem das várias formas de contato com os recursos tecnológicos no ensino, incentivando-os/as no desenvolvimento de um letramento digital durante o processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Os resultados obtidos revelaram que as crenças em torno do processo de ensino-aprendizagem sofrem influências do contexto e não são restrítas ao ambiente de sala de aula. Os resultados também revelaram que precisamos conhecer essas crenças a fim de promover o letramento crítico e digital.

A pesquisa tem por finalidade abordar a constituição das redes de Bancos de Dados e Bibliotecas Virtuais Ambientais (BBVAs) no Brasil, tendo como destaque o Banco de Dados para a Indústria do Petróleo (BAMPETRO). Para tal, pretende-se traçar a territorialidade da rede de informação ambiental, a questão da própria informação ambiental e o seu contexto no ciberespaço. Também será analisada a Política Ambiental Brasileira que proporciona a constituição dessa rede. O objeto proposto para o estudo apresenta uma complexa realidade, diversificada e prática, de grande interesse aos gestores ambientais, entre eles os geógrafos, que requer o seu desvendamento. / The research has the objective in approach the constitution of the nets of Bancos de Dados e Bibliotecas Virtuais Ambientais (BBVAs) in Brazil, have as feature the Banco de Dados para a Indústria do Petróleo (BAMPETRO). Neste sentido, objetivamos com esta pesquisa, analisar a dinâmica da sociocomunicação, transferência e fluxo de informações de comunidades virtuais tomadas como sistemas sociais auto-organizados, no Ciberespaço. Através de incursões na literatura, fizemos uma análise teórica-descritiva do conceito de sociocomunicação e discutimos em que medida ele pode ser aplicado diante das inter-relações que emergem entre os indivíduos pertencentes às comunidades virtuais. Concluímos que, o Ciberespaço, assim definido, configura-se como um locus de extrema complexidade e difícil compreensão. A sua heterogeneidade é notória quando se percebe o grande número de ambientes de sociabilidade existentes, no interior dos quais se estabelecem as mais diversas e variadas formas de interação, tanto entre Homens, quanto entre Homens e máquinas e, inclusive, entre máquinas. Trata-se de um novo tipo de organização sociotécnica que facilita a mobilidade no e do conhecimento, as trocas de saberes, a construção coletiva do sentido, em que a identidade sofre uma expansão do eu baseada na diluição da corporeidade, ou seja, o que se perde em corpo ganha-se em rapidez e capacidade de disseminar o eu no espaço-tempo. Assiste-se, assim, a uma aceleração do metabolismo social. / The Cyberspace is a colossal tissue, a communication device that associates multiple and opposed characteristics. When developing in a spontaneous way, the Cyberspace begins then to guide for the communication. Don't lack countless communication communities today. In this sense, we objectified with this research, to analyze the dynamics of the social communication, transfer and flow of information in virtual communities, took as self-organized social systems, in the Cyberspace. Through incursions in the literature, we made a theoreticaldescriptive analysis of the social communication concept and we discussed in what measure could be applied to the interrelations that emerge among the individuals belonging to the virtual communities. We conclude that, the Cyberspace, thus defined, is configured as one locus of extreme complexity and difficult understanding. Its heterogeneous is well-known when the great existing environment number is perceived of sociability, in the interior of which if they establish most diverse and varied interaction forms, as much between Men, how much between Men and machines and, also, between machines. One is about a new type of social technique organization that facilitates the mobility in and of the knowledge, the exchanges to know, the collective construction of the direction, where the identity suffers an expansion from based self in the dilution the body, or either, what it is lost in body gains in rapidity and capacity to spread self in the space-time. It is attended, thus, to an acceleration of the social metabolism.

A presente dissertação apresenta uma investigação da religião virtualizada com a oferta de bens simbólico-espirituais na internet, a partir da missão dos paulino, no site da Editora Paulus. O trabalho descreve a cibercultura com seu imaginário tecnológico, identificando como se reconstrói a religiosidade católica no ciberespaço; estuda as práticas de oferta de bens simbólicos e de conteúdos religiosos através das ferramentas tecnológicas on-line no site da Paulus; assim como, busca entender as lógicas, apelos e estratégias mercadológicas do oferecimento de produtos simbólico-espirituais nesse contexto do ciberespaço, em meio a uma religiosidade difusa e sincrética. Como procedimento metodológico, optou-se por abordagem qualitativa de recorte crítico, descritivo/interpretativo, além da revisão bibliográfica: observação estruturada e análise de site através da técnica da netnografia, complementada por uma hermenêutica transdisciplinar do seu conteúdo. Os resultados demonstram os elementos constitutivos da nova religiosidade na cibercultura interferindo no serviço de evangelização dessa Ordem religiosa católica. Esses resultados contribuem para estimular uma reflexão mais consciente sobre a religiosidade, bem como para fomentar o direito à religião esclarecida; além de subsidiar possíveis estratégias otimizadas para a oferta de bens simbólicos religiosos. / This Dissertation presents a research concerning the virtualized religion through the symbolical-religious goods supply in the Internet, departing from the Pauline Congregation Members Mission in Paulus Publish House site. This work describes cyberculture with its technological imaginary figment, identifying the way how one rebuilds the catholic religiosity in cyberspace, it this work studies symbolical goods supply practices, through on line technological tools in Paulus site; as well as it this Work searches understanding the marketing logicians, appeals and strategies concerning the symbolical spiritual products supply in this cyberspace context amidst a diffused and syncretistic religiosity. As a methodological proceeding, one has chosen a critical outline, descriptive interpretative qualitative approach, besides the bibliographical observation: site structured observation and analysis through ethnography technics, complemented with its contents transdisciplinary hermeneutics. Its this Work results show up the new religiosity constituent elements in cyberculture, interfering in this Catholic Religious Order evangelization service. These results contribute for stimulating a more conscious reflection regarding to religiosity, as well as for fomenting the right to a more clarified religion, besides subsiding optimized possible strategies for religious symbolical goods supply.

Essa tese de doutorado tem o caráter antropológico e é o resultado de uma investigação sobre a virtualidade gerada pelo ciberespaço, que é materializado na Rede de computadores da Internet e as atuais tecnologias digitais e informáticas. Foram pesquisadas três instâncias empíricas em que a dimensão virtual se consolida como condição de interação social: praticantes de jogos virtuais em ambientes de Lan House; usuários da plataforma virtual do Orkut; e, o espaço virtual 3D disponibilizado pelo software Second Life. O trabalho analítico e comparativo considerou as especificidades de cada situação investigada e as recorrências passíveis de generalização. O objetivo do estudo foi responder às perguntas de como os indivíduos contemporâneos lidam com trânsito regular entre as dimensões do on-line (virtual) e do off-line (real), assim como investigar em que medida suas vidas são afetadas pela alternância constante entre esses modos espacial e temporalmente diferentes de comunicação e de interação social. Seguindo o caráter antropológico do estudo foi possível reconstruir os diversos sentidos dados pelos sujeitos ao que seria uma “vida” virtual conectada à “vida” real, que deve ser considerada a condição contemporânea de existência e de representação da realidade dos segmentos investigados. / This PhD thesis has an anthropological character and it is the result of an investigation on the virtuality generated by the cyberspace that is materialized in the Internet and the current digital technologies and computer sciences. Three empirical instances were researched which the virtual dimension consolidates as condition of social interaction: players of virtual games in Lan House atmosphere; users of the virtual platform of Orkut; and, the virtual 3D space showed by the Second Life software. The analytic and comparative work considered the specific elements of each situation investigated and the possible agreement among them. The objective of the study was to answer to the questions of how contemporary individuals work with the regular traffic among the virtual and real dimensions, and how they lives are affected by the constant alternation between those different forms of time and space communication and social interaction. Following the anthropological character of the study, was possible to reconstruct the several meanings given by the subjects to the "virtual life" connected to the "real life", that should be considered as being the contemporary condition of existence and representation of the reality by the investigated segments.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo identificar e analisar as transformações que ocorreram na (1) atividade de blogar, (2) nas motivações para blogar e (3) nas relações estabelecidas nos blogs pessoais auto-reflexivos, aqueles divulgados pela mídia como “diários virtuais”. Neste estudo, o movimento gerado pela recursividade desses três elementos – motivações, práticas e relações – é chamado de “dinâmica relacional”. A partir da perspectiva de uma antropologia no ciberespaço, é realizado um estudo etnográfico em três blogs pessoais auto-reflexivos. Esta perspectiva antropológica considera as dimensões online e offline complementares e situa o pesquisador como um “nativo” do seu próprio campo de estudo, o ciberespaço. Assim, com base na análise de 1.137 posts, 2.078 comentários e na entrevista individual com as blogueiras, é feita uma “descrição densa” das dinâmicas relacionais dos blogs selecionados. Os resultados indicam que blogs pessoais auto-reflexivos não estão isentos de ações estratégicas, mesmo sendo um espaço para desabafar, meditar e livrar-se das tensões emocionais. Também mostram que características específicas dos blogs pessoais autoreflexivos favorecem o surgimento de sentimentos como afinidade e cumplicidade entre blogueiros e leitores. Mas, à medida que essas relações ganham intimidade, passam ser estabelecidas em outros meios mais responsivos que os blogs – como e-mail, telefone e encontros face a face – e mais fáceis de serem atualizados, como sites de redes sociais e plataformas de micropostagem. / This work aims to identify and to analyze the changes that occurred in (1) blogging activity, (2) motivations for blogging, (3) and relationships established in autoreflexive personal blogs, which are disclosed by the media as “online diaries”. In this study, the movement generated by the recursion of these three elements – motivations, practices and relations – is called “relational dynamics”. By adopting the perspective of anthropology in cyberspace, an ethnographic study is conducted in three autoreflexive personal blogs. This anthropological perspective considers the complementary of online and offline dimensions and it also situates the researcher as a “native” of his own field of study, the cyberspace. Thus, based on analysis of 1,137 posts, 2,078 comments and individual interviews with the bloggers, a “thick description” of the relational dynamics of selected blogs is conducted. The results indicate that autoreflexive personal blogs are not exempt from strategic actions, even being a space to let off steam, to muse and release emotional tensions. The results also show that specific characteristics of autoreflexive personal blogs promote the emergence of feelings such as affinity and complicity between bloggers and readers. However, as these relations become more intimate, they are being established in other media more responsive than blogs – such as e-mail, telephone and face to face meetings – and easier to be updated, as social networking sites and microposting platforms.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The present paper is aimed at developing a reflexive theoretical study on the space at exhibition in the Mercosur Biennial in the virtual environment in order to propose a different mapping, which also considers the possibility of distribution/exhibition, the creation/exhibition with the use of media and digital technologies in contemporary artistic production. Being understood as an area of potential, taking as reference the Mercosur Biennial, the production of art and technology exposed in some of its past six editions, and the virtual environment of the 6th Biennial, establishing a dialogue with the Cyberspace and Ciberception, as well as the conceptual issues analyzed in depth in this study for the establishment of the new cartography. This is a survey of art and uses a qualitative approach, suitable for research in visual arts, allowing the construction of a particular methodology as specified in the study. The document analysis was accomplished through questionnaires and a semi-structured interview. The overview of the Mercosur Biennial, the virtual environments available, the production of art and technology, allied to the conceptual - Cyberspace and Ciberception - emphasizes the relevance of this study, which is presented as a contribution to the field of Visual Arts in dialogue with the media and contemporary technology, the proposal Virtus - space for creation/exhibition. / Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo desenvolver um estudo teórico-reflexivo sobre o espaço expositivo da Bienal do Mercosul no ambiente virtual, a fim de propor uma outra cartografia, que considere além da possibilidade divulgação/exposição, a criação/exposição com a utilização das mídias e tecnologias digitais na produção artística contemporânea. Compreendido como um espaço em potencial, toma-se como referência a Bienal do Mercosul, a produção de Arte e Tecnologia exposta em algumas de suas seis edições já realizadas, e o ambiente virtual da 6ª Bienal, estabelecendo um diálogo com o Ciberespaço e a Cibercepção, questões conceituais aprofundadas neste estudo para a elaboração da nova cartografia. Esta é uma pesquisa sobre arte e utiliza a abordagem qualitativa, adequada à pesquisa em artes visuais, permitindo a construção de uma metodologia particular conforme as especificidades do estudo. Tem como instrumentos a análise documental, os questionários e a entrevista semi-estruturada. O panorama geral das Bienais do Mercosul, os respectivos ambientes virtuais disponibilizados, a produção de Arte e Tecnologia, aliados às instâncias conceituais - Ciberespaço e Cibercepção - pontuam a relevância do presente estudo, que apresenta como contribuição para o campo das Artes Visuais em diálogo com as mídias e tecnologias contemporâneas, a proposta Virtus espaço de criação/exposição.

The space network connections [cyberspace] have been constituted as new production space morphologies for homosexuals. The technoculture’s virtual machines present themselves as social spaces of projection, memory and new developments. Emerged in a trans-discursive network connections, homosexuals can assume ownership of virtual machines to the ongoing reconstruction of its virtuality, understood as a mobile incorporeal flow that is transmuted in connection with each other. The social network Facebook is configured as a network of connections equipped by axes and directions, allowing individuals movements of deterritorial and intensive meetings, under a spatial mosaic hybrid, circumscribed in a multitude of territories and ciber-regions spread across the Global Village Machinic. The deterritorialized open cyberspace, solidifies as a space recorded by a heterogeneity of spatial elements, allowing the passage of flows and practices, and provide new experiences, which can move with the hetero-capitalism power centers. The analysis is centered on the materialistic production os [cyber]space, which allowed the outline of contemporary social production, combined with discursive production, through what is stated and registered on Facebook. A symbiosis that allowed me machining of existential production scenario in which these homosexuals are territorialized. The collection of discursive practices occurred from a virtual ethnography in the most closed group of homosexuals in Brazil, a nomadic territory of bodies and utterances that connects all to a central point: the uniqueness of homosexual desire. A creation of space for new experiences and affectivity, as well as a virtual closet. In this group, there are forces of coalescence: transgression forces and forces that capture the heterocapitalismo standard, constituting as an inductor territory of processes and connections that may even break with the reactionary encodings of global simulations of the Patriarchal-Heteroapitalist Empire. Through the analysis of the discursive production of homosexuals on Facebook, notes that homosexual experiences of today is based on a constant exchange between real and virtual, online and offline, corpus and machines under a profusion of new experiences and new performativities, passing by a social production of connections fight and claims and new groupings by affection. / Esta pesquisa teve como perspectiva analisar a produção de experiências homossexuais na contemporaneidade, tendo como território investigativo a rede social do Facebook. O espaço em rede de conexões [ciberespaço] têm se constituído como uma nova geomorfologia, que tem acarretado em novos eixos heterogêneos de produção existencial. As próteses high-tech da tecnocultura, se apresentam como espaços sociais de projeção, de memória e de novos acontecimentos. Emergidos em uma rede biotécnica de conexões, os homossexuais podem se apropriar das máquinas cibernéticas para a reconstrução contínua de sua virtualidade, entendida como um fluxo incorpóreo que se transmuta na conexão com o outro. A rede social do Facebook, se configura como uma malha de conexões equipada por eixos e orientações, permitindo aos indivíduos movimentos de des-territorialização e encontros intensivos, sob um mosaico espacial híbrido, circunscrito numa multiplicidade de territórios e ciber-regiões espalhadas pela Aldeia Maquínica Global. O ciberespaço como sistema aberto desterritorializado, solidifica-se como um espaço registrado por uma heterogeneidade de elementos espaciais, permitindo a passagem de fluxos e práticas que além de proporcionar novas experiências, podem deslocar com os centros de poder do heterocapitalismo, do que aqui chamamos de Império Patriarcal-Heterocapitalista. A análise centrou na formação materialista do [ciber]espaço, que me permitiu o delineamento da produção social contemporânea, aliada a produção discursiva, através do que se enunciado e registrado no Facebook. Uma simbiose que me permitiu a maquinação do cenário de produção existencial no qual estes homossexuais estão territorializados. A coleta de práticas discursivas ocorreu no seio de uma etnografia virtual no maior grupo fechado de homossexuais do Brasil, uma aldeia molecular e nômade de corpus e enunciações que conecta todos a um ponto central: a singularidade do desejo homossexual. Um território prostético de constituição de novas experiências e afetividades, como também pode servir como uma forma de armário. Neste grupo, há uma coalescência de forças: forças de transgressão e forças majoritárias de captura à norma heterocapitalista. Através da análise da produção discursiva de homossexuais no Facebook, se constata que as experiências homossexuais na atualidade se assenta em um intercâmbio incessante entre real e virtual, on-line e off-line, corpus e máquinas, sob uma profusão de novas experiências e novas performatividades, perpassando por uma produção social de luta e reivindicações, de conexões e de novos agrupamentos pelo afeto.

To perform such an observation at an Internet café in the capital of Santa Catarina to know a little everyday this trade. We also apply a questionnaire to young students about the use of digital technologies and conducted semi-structured interviews with young people to deepen some questions regarding the use of Internet cafes and the Internet. Emphasize that sociality is present in these environments through the will to be together sharing common interests in interpersonal communicative actions, creating an identification between the users of cyberspace. Emphasize that public schools can play a critical role with respect to digital education based on youthful experiences related to the use of cyberspace. Finally, we suggest that the computer room of the school is also a place to use self-directed and 'free' digital technologies, fostering interaction between the experiences of Internet cafes and school. What can be called LanEscola / Nesta pesquisa buscamos analisar como se apresenta a socialidade entre jovens em lan houses e suas implicações para a escola. Para tal realizamos uma observação em uma lan house na capital catarinense a fim de conhecer um pouco do cotidiano deste tipo de comércio, aplicamos um questionário com jovens estudantes a respeito do uso das tecnologias digitais e realizamos entrevistas semi-estruturadas com alguns jovens para aprofundarmos questões atinentes ao uso das lan houses e da Internet. Destacamos que a socialidade está presente nestes ambientes através da vontade de estar junto compartilhando interesses em comum, nas ações comunicativas interpessoais, criando uma identificação entre os usuários do ciberespaço. Ressaltamos que a escola pública pode ter papel fundamental no que tange a educação digital com base nas experiências juvenis relacionadas ao uso do ciberespaço. This study aimed to research the Blog Noblat to understand the set of traits that characterize the brand of the journalist-blogger and embodies the author's style from its production, selection and sorting of content to be published. We associate the modus operandi of Ricardo Noblat the person's own author who can contribute to the categorization of a style of journalism in blog. This categorization is based on the production and transmission of texts as verbal, visual or audiovisual and their consequent implications for journalism exercised in cyberspace. / É no ambiente do ciberespaço que o jornalismo em blog vem se consolidando e assumindo novas tarefas, rompendo com padrões criados pelo jornal impresso e pela mídia audiovisual. Isso tem estimulado uma discussão sobre a prática jornalística nesse espaço em que a interação entre o produtor de conteúdo e o internauta possibilita outros formatos comunicacionais. Este trabalho objetivou-se à investigação do Blog do Noblat para compreender o conjunto de traços que caracterizam a marca do jornalista-blogueiro e personificam o estilo do autor a partir da sua produção, seleção e triagem do conteúdo a ser publicado. Associamos o modus operandi de Ricardo Noblat à personificação do próprio autor, que pode contribuir na categorização de um estilo para o jornalismo em blog. Esta categorização está fundada na produção e veiculação dos textos na forma verbal, visual ou audiovisual e suas consequentes implicações no jornalismo exercitado no ciberespaço.
