Research on the vocabulary of the works by Gutierrez de Toledo, by Montaña, by Valverde and by Díaz, chosen as ones are the first treatises on Urology and Anatomy written in Spanish and others because they are the best Spanish Renaissance treatises. We have tried to prove that such a big amount of medical terminology used, usually, even nowadays, appears for the first time in the above mentioned works. In total our lexicon contains up to 4,565 terms, but only 500 appear in the 3 dictionaries checked -DRAE, DCECH, DETEMA-. We conclude proving that the first time these terms appear are in the works of these authors. The interest relies on the lack of research regarding this issue and how innovative is the fact that these four doctors decided to do it in Spanish at a time these type of scientific treatises were still written in Latin.

The instruments and the processes of knowledge representation reflect the political and cultural standpoint of its creators and, therefore, they are not neutral. That way, and considering that ethics establishes itself as a way to distance power over others, preventing itself from being the object of any ideology, one can observe that, the issue of representation is linked to an ethical dimension, because it shall concern its utility and reliability for determined groups of users. In this direction, it is considered, by means of exploratory research of theoretical-investigative character, to establish, based on the studies of Antonio García Gutiérrez, Michèle Hudon and Clare Beghtol, the identification of convergent theoretical chains that subsidize the issues on ethical aspects in the activities of knowledge representation. From confrontation and critical analysis of the ideas of the authors listed above, one can observe that the same ones have convergent takes on the user and its beliefs, and complementary takes concerning the professional ability, thus concluding that the values of transcultural ethics of mediation, multilingualism and cultural warrant are inherent to the activities of knowledge representation and determinant to professional performance in the field.

There is no planet B : About liberation theology, ecotheology and ecologyThelin, Gunilla January 2021 (has links)

UNA APROXIMACIÓN A LA ARQUITECTURA DE J. A. CORRALES Y R. V. MOLEZÚN. EL GRUPO PARROQUIAL JESÚS MAESTRO DE VALENCIAMondéjar Navarro, Juan Manuel 29 April 2016 (has links)
[EN] The architecture of José Antonio Corrales Gutiérrez and Ramón Vázquez Molezún constitutes one of the main protagonists in the History of the Spanish Architecture of the second half of the twentieth century. This well-known fact reveals the value of a production that has been repeatedly recognised with the highest distinction.
The conducted inquiry is conceived as a manifold approach to this architecture, focusing on three components: a comprehensive study, a typological analysis of their religious architecture, and above all, a predominantly specific research on the Parish Group Master Jesus, located in Valencia.
The result is an architectural knowledge closely linked to thought, project, and work of these architects, characterized simultaneously by the clear link with the architectural modernity without previous affiliation to dominant formal styles, by the attention and extreme adaptation to the specific case, and by an understanding of the architectural profession and the architecture, as an integral fact that reconciles theory and practice, reason and emotion, and finally, spatial and constructive tradition and innovation.
Le roman amplifié : musique et musicalité dans la prose de fiction espagnole contemporaine (1993-2014) / The Amplified novel : music and musicality in the spanish contemporary fiction (1993-2014)Léveillé, Maxime 15 June 2018 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to study the interartistic dialogue between music and literature in contemporary Spanish prose fiction since the emergence of “X generation” at the beginning of the 1990s. In a context of mass culture, the rise of this group of writers, namely led by Ray Loriga or José Angel Manas, has revealed a constant and lasting permeability of novels to music. Thus, such an influence is visible in some of the works of Augustin Fernández Mallo, one of the main representatives of the “mutant” movement that appeared in 2007 and in that of writers who were not connected to any particular literary group, such as Aixa de la Cruz, Belén Gopegui, Guillermo Aguirre, Pablo Gutiérrez, ou Kiko Amat. The love of music in these writers is the basis of an interartistic project where literary invention is connected to an abundant musical imaginary world, and its textualisation brings us to consider the novel as a musical aesthetic form. Thus, the novels studied are filled with a poetics of dissemination, which expands musicality to different components of the story and increases the perceptive dispositions of the text, so that the auditory imagination of the reader is stimulated. So, the fascination for music gives birth to a constellation of works whose resonant, musical, generic, thematic diegetic and stylistic aspects will be analysed through the concept of amplification that we define as the paths used by fiction to increase the power of mimesis, create a story and signify something beyond the frontiers of the novel, thanks to music.

This thesis explores the ideological underpinnings of political soteriological discourse. Through analyzing key texts in liberation theology, using critical theorists such as Theodor W. Adorno and Wendy Brown, I aim to understand to how this soteriological discourse respond to the predicaments that afflict theology in modernity – and to explore the ideological issues with these responses. I then turn to present day Swedish theological conversations concerning salvation and its political use, in order to discuss whether the issues exposed in liberation theology can be considered to continue to be a problem for the present discussion. I also discuss the ethical and theological obstacles connected to the translocation of liberation theology from the Latin America of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s to present day Sweden, or, in other words: from an exploited continent in protest against imperialism and capitalism, to the continent guilty of so much of the suffering that Latin American liberation theology condemned. What does it mean to turn to liberation theology in this context? I find, in this discourse, a certainty and assuredness concerning the salvation of all, which I find to be at least in part ideologically grounded. Instead, I suggest another direction for political revolutionary soteriology: to unsettle and disturb the modern image of the God-like man; to reconnect with the prehistoric fear of nature through a vigilant and restless immanent critique and through the subversive act of rituals and sacrifice.

The vindication of Christ : a critique of Gustavo Guitierrez, James Cone and Jurgen MoltmannBurgess, Michael Martyn 02 1900 (has links)
The problem of universal oppression has caused Gutierrez, Cone and Moltmann to advocate that God is orchestrating an historical programme of liberation from socio-economic, racial and political suffering. They feel that God's liberating actions can be seen in the Abrahamic promise, the exodus and the Christ-event.
Moltmann, especially, has emphasized both the trinitarian identification with human pain and the influence of the freedom of the future upon the suffering of the present. According to our theologians, Jesus Christ identified with us, and died the death of a substitutionary victim. Through the resurrection, Jesus Christ overcame the problem of suffering and death, and inaugurated the New Age. The cross and resurrection were the focal point of God's liberating activity. Liberation, or freedom, from sin and suffering is now possible, at least proleptically. We are to understand the atonement as having been liberative rather than forensic or legal, although judgement is
not ignored. Both the perpetrators of injustice and their victims are called upon to identify with, and struggle for,
freedom, with the help of the liberating Christ.
We agree with our theologians that God has historically indicated his desire for justice and freedom. The magnitude of evil and suffering still existing, however, forces us to abandon the idea that God is progressively liberating history. Nevertheless, we affirm the idea that the Trinity has absorbed human suffering into its own story through the incarnate Son. Jesus identified with suffering in a four-fold way, namely: its existence, the judgement of it, the overcoming of it, and the need to oppose it. This comprehensive identification gives Christ the right to demand the doing of justice, because the greatest injustice in history has happened to him. The atonement
was forensic, rendering all people accountable to Christ; but it was also liberative, validating the struggle against oppression. Furthermore, at his second coming, Christ will be vindicated in whatever judgement he will exact upon the perpetrators of injustice or oppression. For today the resurrection still gives hope and faith to those who suffer and to those who identify with them / Philosophy, Practical & Systematic Theology / Th.D. (Systematic Theology)

The concept of sin in the theologies of Ellen G White and Leonardo Boff : a comparative studyZvandasara, Nkosiyabo, 1961- 03 1900 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to compare the concept of sin in the theologies of
Ellen G. White and Leonardo Boff. Chapter 1 examines Ellen G. White's concept
of sin. White's historical and theological backgrounds coupled with her use of the
"great controversy" motif provide a better grasp of her understanding of sin. White
defines sin as the transgression of God's Law. She views sin to comprise at least
two dimensions, namely, the individual and the social. White regards these two
aspects of sin to have equal significance. White's detailed treatment of the
sanctuary teaching also highlights the two dimensions of sin.
In Chapter 2 Boff' s idea of sin is investigated. Boff' s historical background,
which exposed him to the poor, influenced his perception of sin. Boff's theological
background together with his familiarity with Karl Marx's social analysis prompted
Boff to define sin as the negation of God's love in a human history bedevilled by
class conflict. Boff views sin to have the individual and social dimensions. Yet, in
terms of importance, Boff believes that the social dimension of sin is more
consequential than the individual one.
In Chapter 3 White's and Boff s views on sin are compared. From this
comparison it is evident that both White and Boff recognize the bipolarity of sin.
Both seem to agree that christians should take an active role in correcting social
evils because love for God is manifested by how we relate to our neighbor. Boff
devotes less space to the individual aspect of sin than White.
Chapter 4 shows that White's theological tradition has a lot to learn from
Boff and his tradition and also vice versa. An awareness of the current priestly
ministry of Christ evident in White's theology could help Boff to bring some
balance to his stance on the social and the individual dimension of sin. Boff' s use
of Marx's social analysis should also help Seventh-day Adventists, the inheritors of
White's theology, not to interpret White's theology of sin only along individualistic
lines while overlooking its social dimension. / Philosophy, Practical & Systematic Theology / D.Th. (Systematic Theology)
