Karl-Anders Wollters filmsamling på filmarkivet i Grängesberg

Krohn, Johannes January 2010 (has links)
<p>The aim with this archive guide is to give a guide to Karl-Anders Wollter’s film collection at Grängesberg Film archive. Karl-Anders Wollter worked between 1962–1993 for the State Department and mainly outside Sweden. The film collection consists of 67 films regarding his work, holidays and family life. In his work as a diplomat Wollter visited a lot of different places around the world, but he also travelled and made some trips with hisfamily. The collection also consists of footage from state visits, installations, negotiations in conflicts and inter-national conferences with politicians. Altogether the film collection gives not only a good view of how the life as a diplomat might be, but also of the development of the society and footage over villages and minor villages both in Sweden and other countries. This archive guide could thus serve as a guide both to those who are interested in the life as a diplomat, politic – and civic life and for those who are interested in cities and minor village’s devel-opment over time. This archive guide can also serve as a guide for those who are looking for film footage for various documentaries.</p>

Europeiska arkivhandlingar : Europeiskt identitetsskapande i samtida ABM-projekt / Archives and European identity : The construction of identity in EU sponsored projects for thedigitisation of collections from museums, archives, and libraries

Pihl Skoog, Emma January 2010 (has links)
<p>The aim of this master’s thesis is to analyse the construction of European identity in three ofcontemporary EU initiated projects for the digitisation of collections from museums, archives, andlibraries. The source material consists of the web pages of the projects Minerva, MICHAEL, andEuropeana, as well as some other policy documents on digitisation and access from EU authorities.Theories on nationalism and construction of heritage are used as an overall context to the problem. After a brief description of the mentioned projects, the author undertakes an analysis of theways that the concept of ‘European heritage’ is depicted in the source material. The result is thefollowing: normally, the true European heritage is considered being united even though it isdiveded culturally, historically and linguistically. The real European spirit is seen as consisting intolerating and celebrating these internal differences. There is also a discourse on the idealEuropean citizen, who actively strives to enlargen her knowledge on (European) culture andhistory. However, there is also a narrower conception of European heritage, which can be discernedfrom some of the analysed sources. This latter definition of Europeanness, stresses Christianityand a tradition of civilisation, rationalism, and science. The ‘Other’, the non-Europeans, can thusbe interpreted as the negation of these ideals.</p>

Kommuner & Facebook : Hur hanteras regelverket kring allmänna handlingar?

A. Hedqvist, Anja January 2010 (has links)
<p>The aim of this one-year master thesis in archival science was to examine how municipalities take regulations concerning public records into account when they use Facebook. Another aim was to examine the involvement of archivists, registrars or similar staff in the management of the regulations. Since Swedish archival theory and practice has a close connection to the application of these regulations, such an examination was hopefully going to reveal tendencies of importance for archival science. The method used to collect information was a web questionnaire and the result was based on answers from 21 municipalities with an official Facebook page. The questionnaire showed that six of the municipalities regarded documents originating from their Facebook page as public records. Three did not, and a large group had not yet decided how to treat these documents. Only three municipalities did archive documents from Facebook. The involvement of archivists, registrars and similar personnel was generally very small, even though regulations concerning public records had more often been taken into account in the municipalities that had informed this personnel about the use of an official Facebook page. The difference in management between the municipalities was together with the demand for national guiding principles indicating difficulties in applying the regulations to social medias like Facebook. The fact that most of the municipalities that had taken the regulations into account had come to the conclusion that Facebook generated public records, together with the fact that national guiding principles presented during the work with this thesis had the same interpretation, indicated that documents originating from Facebook will be a part of Swedish public records in the future. The difference in management and the demand for guidance also indicated a need for better division of responsibilities and a more active approach in the future, to ensure that the regulations concerning public records are taken into account early and correctly when authorities starts to use new medias.</p>

Sura Gamla Kyrka : analys av patologiska och skeletala förändringar hos sju individer / Sura Gamla Kyrka : analysis of pathological and skeletal changes in seven individuals

Groth, Caroline January 2010 (has links)
<p>Seven individuals from Surahammar in Västmanland Sweden are analyzed for the appearance of pathological and skeletal changes. The graves, all from within the walls of a fourteenth century church, are dated from the Viking age to late eighteenth century. The aim of this scientific essay is to find pathological conditions by doing an osteological analyze, x-ray analysis, an osteoporosis measurement and letting orthopedists assess the individuals. The aim is also to say something about the individuals’ general health and how they experience the changes they have in the skeleton. The various types of methods of analysis could confirm and add information to the osteological analysis and in some cases they had different diagnosis. All of the individuals had pathological changes in their upper and/or lower jaw with caries, calculus or apical periodontitis. Among several pathological and skeletal changes three individuals were diagnosed with osteoarthritis in their cervical vertebrae and one in the hip, one had enamel hypoplasia. One individual had both old and new fractures and two individuals had some bone density loss. But despite this their general health was very likely not bad and most of them could live a good life.Caroline Groth, Department of archaeology and osteology, Gotland University, 2010.Sura Gamla Kyrka – Analysis of pathological and skeletal changes in seven individuals.Seven individuals from Surahammar in Västmanland Sweden are analyzed for the appearance of pathological and skeletal changes. Hur arkiverar Sveriges byggföretag? : Ett försök att finna arkiveringspraxis i en för kulturarvet viktig företagsbransch / How are the Swedish Building Corporations building up their archives? : An attempt to find an archive building custom in a line of business of importance for the cultural heritage

Högman, Nils January 2010 (has links)
What traces of their actions are the Building Corporations in Sweden leaving in their archives and are they followingsome archival policies? This thesis is trying to answer that question. For that reason 25 archives fromSwedish Building Corporations have been investigated concerning their size, contents and age. Furthermore apoll performed by the Swedish National Archives in cooperation with the Swedish Employers’ Confederationhas been analyzed. As a complement to these investigations some people responsible for the archives at SwedishBuilding corporations have been interviewed about their companies’ archival policies. The result of this study is, sadly enough, that the Swedish Building Corporations are neglecting their archives. Most of the archives that were studied are very small, less than half a running metre. A few builders of thegeneration born in the late nineteenth century have left more or less extensive archives, but they were very poorlyorganized. But generally the will to build up archives for the need of the future researchers and for the culturalheritage seems to be very poor in the Building Corporations, even poorer than in the Swedish companies in general.Almost no archival strategies could be discerned, other than that most companies preserve their record onlyfor that time the law and their own immediate needs prescribe. That is a shame, concerning the Building Corporations’importance for the cultural heritage in that that the buildings they are making are forming our culturalenvironment. This is a two years master’s thesis in Archival Science.

Elektronmusikstudion : : ett förteckningsarbete / The Electronic Music Studio of Stockholm : the archival process.

Bjurman, Jens January 2010 (has links)
The electronic music studio ”Elektronmusikstudion” (EMS) inStockholm was initiated in 1963. It has had several different managers throughout the years. EMS soon became a rather costly project. Furthermore there have been several conflicts among staff and users wich has contributed to EMS fairly turbulent history. One main conflict concerns the issue wether EMS should be a research facility or a studio for composers. The many different managers of EMS have contributed to a rather unstructured filing of records. To facilitate the understanding of the documents in this archive, and because there is very little written about EMS history, I’ve included a rather comprehensive description of EMS organizational history. The subject of this one year master’s thesis is to describe and examine difficulties I’ve encountered in the archival process. My main issues comprise the organization and separation of some of the documents, especially those concerning the conception and organization of EMS and also the abundant technical documentation. Also the question of office of origin has been a concern.

Sjuksköterskans roll i psykiatrisk vård i Sverige ur ett historiskt perspektiv : – en deskriptiv litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats

Johansson, Susanna, Tafazoli, Soudabeh January 2009 (has links)
Background: The knowledge of psychiatric nurses’ role in psychiatric care is from a historical perspective is limited. The description of the psychiatric nursing is modestly described, and therefore it is important to elucidate the caring role of the psychiatric nurse through the psychiatric history development in Sweden. Aim: From a historical perspective, describe psychiatric nursing and the psychiatric nurses’ role in psychiatric care. Design: A descriptive literature study with a qualitative approach. Method: Literature like thesis, anthologies, text-books have been identified via the university library catalogue Disa. Collected data have been analyzed with a qualitative content analysis. Results: During the middle Ages, mental illnesses were seen as an enchantment. Up to the 18th century it was the priest who treated the mentally ill. In the 18th hundred century the first central hospitals arrived and deaconess worked at these hospitals. The first half of the 19th century the nurses worked in leading positions. During the middle of 19th century a new era began in the psychiatric care when the new antipsychotic medicines arrived. Nurses describe their work, as being like a mother to their patients and the sensations of insecurity. Conclusion: The caring of persons with mental diseases has during centuries been isolated from the rest of society. The purpose of caring has been to calm the patients. The nursing role has been in a subordinated position towards the doctors. In addition, the nurses have been strong upholders for the wards, sometimes in conflict with male staff managers without nursing education. The nursing role has been experienced with elements of to be hostess/mother and experiences of to be helpless when not being able to help persons with mental illness.
