An Assessment Of Information Technology Curriculum Implementation In Vocational High Schools

This study aims to provide a general picture of newly adopted IT program in vocational high schools. Through this aim, the issues of to what extent are the objectives and content of Vocational high schools&rsquo / new IT curriculum satisfied the needs, how it is implemented in schools, how it is practiced under different circumstances and which factors influence its implementation process are examined. This study was designed as a formative evaluation based on CIPP Model-Process valuation. In order to grasp perceptions of vocational high school IT teachers and 11th grade IT area students&rsquo / two self-reported questionnaires were developed by the researcher. The sample constituted of 683 Grade 11 students and 83 IT teachers from 28 vocational high schools in the 7 urban district of Ankara. Heavily, descriptive and statistics and quantitative data analysis techniques were utilized to analyze the data however in some parts, inferential statistics were also employed. Results of the study indicated that the objectives of the new IT program are responsive to the local, national and global IT sector and catching the demanded skills in the world of work. Moreover it is determined that the new program supports flexibility in principle however in action there are some obstacles those barriers the adequately functioning of the new program. Therefore, this study also attempts to reveal the problems related to students, teachers, schools quality indicators and program modules in order to supply the deficiencies in the early stages of program implementation.

Mokymosi elektroninėje mokykloje tyrimas / Research of learning in e-School

E-learning provides faster learning at reduced costs, increased access to learning, and clear accountability for all participants in the learning process. Benefits of this kind of learning are obvious. Western Europe or USA are far ahead creating virtual learning environments and we need to improve a lot in this field in Lithuania. The theme of the work is “Research of learning in e-School”. The result of that analysis was learning management system that enables instructors to create and manage web-based learning activities and course materials. There is possibility to individualize learning needs beside usual tools and methods. System user can estimate his knowledge and to watch the process of learning. Also student tracking has been done and it is the ability to track the usage of course materials by students, and to perform additional analysis and reporting both of aggregate and individual usage. Instructors can get a report that shows number of attempts and time per attempt on each assessment for individual students or report showing the duration of time each student or all students spent on course content. That can be very useful information for the future development of present e-course. In analysis process are viewed most popular e-learning systems like Moodle or WebCT. Žmogaus intelektas skirtingai pasireiškia priimant tam tikrus individualius ir grupinius sprendimus, todėl siekiama, jog sukurtos interakyvios mokomosios priemonės skatintų geriau realizuoti individualias psichofizines savybes. Taktinio mąstymo dėka žaidėjas analizuoja, pasirenka strategiją, kurią taikydamas priima geriausią situacijos sprendimą ir konkrečius veiksmus užsibrėžtam tikslui pasiekti. Dirbant pedagoginį darbą pastebėjau pasyvų mokinių požiūrį į kūno kultūrą, į sportą, todėl ryžausi panaudojus mokymo procese šiuolaikines informacines technologijas sukurti bei ištirti visame pasaulyje populiaraus žaidimo - krepšnio derinių mokomąją priemonę. Atlikus egzistuojančių programinių priemonių analizę, tikslas buvo įgyvendintas dviem realizacijom:  Su Testtool sistema buvo sukurta testavimui skirta mokomoji priemonė „TestTool Krepšinio deriniai“.  Adaptavus kitos sporto šakos - rankinio derinių, kūrimo aplinką DrillCad, sukurta priemonė „Basketball Drill Cad“, skirta modeliuoti taktiniams krepšinio deriniams. Kūrimo metu buvo naudojama Adobe Flex programavimo aplinka, php programavimo kalba, MySQL duomenų bazė ir kitos technologijos tinklalapiui sukurti bei derinių vaizdavimo sistemai vystyti. Priemonės platinimui ir grįžtamajam ryšiui gauti sukurta atskira svetainė, kuri gali būti naudojama į virtualią mokymosi aplinką Moodle. Through tactical thinking, a player analyzes, chooses a particular strategy, by which application he makes best decision in a situation and makes concrete actions in order to reach a set goal. When working a pedagogical work, I have noticed a passive schoolchildren‘s attitude towards physical culture and sports, so I have decided to create and examine a tool for learning “Krepšinio deriniai” by using contemporary information technologies in the study process. Informacinės technologijos vis labiau įsilieja į mokymo/si procesą, tampa neatsiejama jo dalimi. Vyrauja nuomonė, kad nuo mokymosi apie informacines technologijas turi pereiti prie mokymo su informacinėmis technologijos. Tuo pačiu tradicinio mokymo metodus praplečiant informacinių technologijų mokymo metodais. Tai turi padėti veiksmingiau derinti bei taikyti naujus mokymo metodus. Atlikus anketinę tiksliųjų mokslų (chemijos, fizikos, informatikos, matematikos) mokytojų apklausą išsiaiškinta kokia mokytojų dalis naudoja informacines technologijas moksleivių testavimui, kokios programos naudojamos, kokios funkcijos šioms programoms reikalingos. Išanalizavus gautus duomenis nustatyta kokia programinė įranga dažniausiai naudojama moksleivių testavimui, kokių funkcijų joje pasigendama. Sukurti ir išbandyti priedai praplečiantys virtualios mokymosi aplinkos Moodle funkcijas, reikalingas tiksliųjų mokslų žinių testavimui: modifikuotas Moodle programos kodas įjungiant HTML redaktorių testavimo sistemos klausimų atsakymams, sukurtas filtras cTeX leidžiantis įvedinėti chemines formules ir trimačius molekulių modelius Moodle aplinkoje, sukurtas naujas klausimo tipas leidžiantis tikrinti programavimo žinias paskalio kalba. / Information technologies are becoming ever more an integral part of the learning process. It has become accepted that learning about information technologies should be transformed to learning with information technologies expanding traditional teaching methods with the methods for teaching information technologies. That should help to coordinate and apply new teaching methods more effectively. Having conducted a questionnaire of teachers of exact sciences (chemistry, physics, informatics and mathematics), it has been determined what percentage of teachers use information technologies for student testing, what software is used, and what functionality for the software is needed. After analyzing the survey data the software most often used for testing students and its missing functionality have been determined. The modules extending the virtual learning environment Moodle for testing students in exact sciences have been written and tested: the Moodle program code has been modified by including an HTML editor for the answers to testing system questions; the filter cTeX for entering chemical formulas and three-dimensional molecule models has been written, and a new type of question for testing the Pascal programming language has been created.

Šiame darbe buvo nagrinėtas kompiuterinės grafikos mokymas taikant IKT, analizuojamos mokomosios medžiagos pateikimo ir įsisavinimo problemos, aptarti aktyvieji mokymo(-si) metodai, atlikta elektroninių mokymo priemonių interaktyvumo lygių analizė, aptariamas modeliavimo metodas bei jo pritaikymo galimybės kompiuterinės grafikos pamokose. Suprojektuotas modelis, skirtas mokomųjų užduočių konstravimui iš realizuotų elementarių komponentų (Flash filmukų), pateikiami modelio etapus iliustruojantys pavyzdžiai, analizuojamos sukonstruotų užduočių galimos scenarijų išpildymo technologijos, aprašoma sudėtinių elementų realizacija bei pateikiamas vartotojo vadovas. Taip pat darbe analizuojami sukurtos mokymo priemonės praktinio panaudojimo rezultatai. / This work researches the training of computer graphics using ICT (information communication technologies), analyzes problems of presentation and assimilation of learning resource materials, considers methods of active learning, completes analysis of interactivity levels of electronic tutorial aids, discusses simulation (modeling) technique and it’s customization possibilities in computer graphics lessons. Here is designed model for learning tasks construction from created elementary components (flash movies), presented examples illustrating model stages, analyzed technologies of eventual completion scenario for created tasks, described realization of composite elements and presented user manual. Also, the work summarizes results of experimental appliance of created tutorial in learning process.

Sparčiai vystantis informacinėms technologijoms auga šios srities specialistų poreikis. Specialistų paklausa stipriai viršija pasiūlą. Rengiant šį darbą buvo iškelti 5 uždaviniai. Vienas iš jų buvo išanalizuoti vidurinio ugdymo informacinių technologijų bendrąją programą. Buvo atlikta informacinių technologijų vidurinio ugdymo programos bendrojo ir išplėstinio kursų analizė. Šiame darbe taip pat buvo analizuojami ir lyginami 2012-ų ir 2013-ų metų informacinių technologijų valstybiniai brandos egzaminai. Taip pat buvo atlikta informacinių technologijų krypties studijų programų analizė. Pateiktas Lietuvos universitetų ir kolegijų, turinčių informacinių technologijų krypties studijų programas, pasiskirstymas pagal miestus, šių programų apžvalga, studijuojami specialybės dalykai. Išanalizuota IRT specialistų Lietuvoje pasiūlos – paklausos 2014 – 2016 metų prognozė. Magistrinio darbo metu atliktas mokinių anketinis tyrimas, kurio tikslas buvo išsiaiškinti mokinių profesijos pasirinkimo motyvus ir požiūrį į informacinių technologijų krypties specialybes. Tyrimui atlikti buvo sudarytos elektroninės apklausos anketos, apklausti 195 mokiniai iš 9-ių Šilutės rajono mokyklų, padaryta analizė bei suformuluotos išvados. / As the information technologies develop rapidly a need for the specialists in the field is increasing. The demand for specialists exceeds the supply. There were 5 problems raised during preparation of this thesis. One of them was to analyse the curriculum of the secondary education IT subject. The analysis of curriculum of the secondary education IT subject’s general and extended courses was performed. In this thesis, national school leaving IT exams of 2012 and 2013 were analysed and compared, and examples of problems were given. Also, IT studying programmes were analysed. Distribution of towns and cities of Lithuanian universities and colleges offering IT studying programmes, overview of these programmes and subjects studied were listed. Prognosis for the supply-demand of IT specialists in Lithuania for 2014-2016 was analysed. During the process of writing this Master’s thesis, pupils’ questionnaire survey was performed. The aim of this survey was to establish the motives behind pupils’ choice of profession and their views on professions relating to IT. Online questionnaire was created for performing this survey, and 195 pupils from 9 Šilutė district’s schools were questioned. The results were analysed and findings were concluded.

Esta tesis contribuye a varios campos del conocimiento. Primero, en ella se estudia el efecto ambiguo que la tecnología de Internet tiene en la estructura de costes de transacción en el caso de las ventas al por menor. En segundo lugar, esta tesis estudia empíricamente que factores determinan la adopción de la tecnología de Internet y la telefonía celular a nivel mundial desde 1980. Se demuestra que las diferencias entre países están determinadas en gran medida por el clima de inversión que afecta los incentivos de adoptar tecnologías basadas en activos específicos. Finalmente de desarrolla y pone a prueba una teoría que relaciona los sistemas electorales y las configuraciones de gobierno con la protección de los derechos de propiedad. Se propone un modelo, que establece una relación negativa entre el número de instituciones de toma de decisión consensual y el grado de protección de los derechos de propiedad. / This research contributes to several fields of knowledge. It studies the ambiguous effects that the Internet has on the transaction costs structure in the case of retailing. Next, it presents an empirical study of the determinants of worldwide Internet and cellular phone penetration levels since 1980. It is shown that cross-country differences in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) are to a considerable extent due to differences in investment climate, which determines the incentives to adopt technologies based on site-specific assets. Finally, this thesis develops and tests a theory regarding the effect that electoral formats and government configurations have on the degree of property rights protection. A formal model is presented, which establishes a negative relationship between the number of institutions of consensual collective decision-making and the degree of property rights protection.

This work had as its objective to evaluate the initial Geography s teacher education on the use of Communication and Information Technologies for the practice of teaching. In the research we had chosen two pioneering institutions in training teachers of Geography in Goiás: the Universidade Federal de Goiás (Goiânia) and Universidade Estadual (Anápolis). The methodology used was the interview with the Teacher educators and questionnaires for teachers in training. The data were analyzed looking for theoretical references which supported this work. Participants were voluntary and signed the Termo Consentimento de Livre Esclarecido, accepted with the project by the Ethics Committee of Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Inside the work there are information about the terms technical and technology in order to understand the ownership of these concepts in the practice of teaching and teacher educator of and the teachers in training as well as possible ramifications of these concepts in teaching practice in the classroom in basic education. From the analysis of the results, it is observed that teachers in training are similar to those considered digital natives who easily handle these new technological resources. They seek ways theoretical and methodological for CIT in their future practice of teaching in basic education. The results also indicate that the use of the CITs facilitated the work of teachers and also promote the acceleration of time of the class, over the abusive use of copy. The ways of CITs is heavily dependent on the acceptance of the teacher educator to change their teaching in the classroom, since the undergraduate students and future teachers of basic education already incorporate them in their daily profession. / Este trabalho de pesquisa teve como objetivo avaliar a formação inicial do professor de Geografia quanto à utilização das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação para a prática da docência. Na realização da pesquisa foram escolhidas duas instituições pioneiras na formação de professores de Geografia em Goiás: Universidade Federal, em Goiânia, e a Universidade Estadual, em Anápolis. Como metodologia foram utilizados a entrevista com os professores formadores e questionários aplicados aos professores em formação. Os dados foram analisados buscando-se as referências teóricas que subsidiaram construção desse trabalho. Os participantes tiveram participação voluntária e assinaram o Termo Consentimento de Livre Esclarecido, aprovado, juntamente com o projeto, pelo Conselho de Ética da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. No interior da dissertação encontram-se informações sobre os termos técnica e tecnologia , a fim de compreender a apropriação desses conceitos na prática da docência do professor formador e dos professores em formação, assim como os eventuais desdobramentos desses conceitos na prática da docência em sala na Educação Básica A partir da análise dos resultados, observa-se que os professores em formação aproximam-se dos considerados nativos digitais que manuseiam com facilidade esses novos recursos tecnológicos. Eles buscam caminhos teórico-metodológicos para TIC na sua futura prática de docência na Educação Básica. Os resultados apontam ainda que os usos das TIC, de um lado, facilitaram o trabalho dos professores, e de outro, também promovem a aceleração do tempo chamado aula, o excesso da cópia pela cópia . Os caminhos das TIC dependem muito da aceitação do professor formador em mudar sua prática pedagógica em sala de aula, uma vez que os alunos da Graduação e futuros professores da educação básica já as incorporam em seus afazeres. / Mestre em Geografia
