Řídící modul dvouosého kartézského manipulátoru pro PLC S7-1200 / Control modul of the biaxial cartesian manupulator for PLC S7-1200

Hofman, Miroslav January 2016 (has links)
This thesis deals with the design of module for control of biaxial cartesian manipulator. Control module recieves signals STEP and DIR from PLC - these signals can have frequency up to 100 kHz. They are processed by the module and send to inputs of drivers, which control motors of biaxial manipulator. Both axis of manipulator are driven simultaneously. PLC is not able to manage this process without this module. Adjusted parameters are displayed on LCD display. Control module is disturbance-resistant. All signals are isolated by fast optocouplers, which guarantee minimum distortion of signals. Data are processed by microprocessor ATXMEGA. Program of microprocessor is written in the C language. It is possible to switch module to NPN or PNP logic and it is also possible to select output voltage 5 or 24 V according to the type and adjustment of used driver for motor control.

Display Technology and Ambient Illumination Influences on Visual Fatigue at VDT Workstations

Bangor, Aaron W. 06 April 2001 (has links)
The concept of "visual fatigue" has been studied for 70 years or more. In that time, no single metric of measuring visual fatigue nor one agreed-upon set of tasks to induce visual fatigue has been settled upon. Not even a robust definition of visual fatigue has been established. This research worked to solve some of those problems. This research first set out to develop an index of visual fatigue that could be used effectively in quantifying the subjective experience of visual fatigue. Then it sought to create a set of measurable tasks, representative of office work, that would induce visual fatigue. Taking these two developments, an experiment using human participants was conducted to validate these developments and work toward solving two issues in the visual fatigue field: how visual display technology and ambient illumination affect the onset of visual fatigue. A 4x4 within-subjects design was developed and executed to study how these two independent variables affected ratings of visual fatigue, performance on the task battery, subjective image quality judgments, and contrast sensitivity shifts. Two cathode ray tube (CRT) and two active-matrix LCD (AMLCD) monitors were used in this study. While many instances of the monitors as a whole caused significant differences in reports of visual fatigue, performance, subjective image quality, and contrast sensitivity loss, only a slight effect of display technology was found. Four of eleven visual fatigue and two of eight subjective image quality dimensions showed that the LCD monitors induced more visual fatigue and were rated poorer than the CRT monitors. Ambient illumination levels of 0, 300, 600, and 1200 lux affected all four groups of dependent variables. On the whole, lighting caused visual fatigue, with "watery eyes" and "glare from lights" being adversely affected by brighter lighting. The 0 and 1200 lux were associated with the worst performance, while 300 lux was associated with the best performance. Subjective image quality was affected by lighting, with increasing lighting causing bothersome screen reflections and more temporal (e.g., flicker and jitter) distortions; 600 lux induced more reports of image sizing anomalies. Finally, it caused significantly worse shifts at the 6.0 c/deg spatial frequency on the contrast sensitivity test. The data show that lighting of 300 lux is the best of these four illumination levels. The results of this study not only contribute to the body of research in the areas of display technology and ambient illumination, but several developments of this research are offered to the research community: a complete survey metric of visual fatigue, a standardized battery of tasks for studying visual fatigue and image quality, and a comprehensive subjective image quality survey. / Ph. Next-generation High-performance Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Light Engines

Yang, Zhiyong 01 January 2024 (has links) (PDF)
The immersive virtual reality (VR) and the optical see-through augmented reality (AR) are expected to revolutionize human lives in work, education, entertainment, healthcare, spatial computing, and digital twins, just to name a few. Next-generation VR/AR devices should exhibit a wide field-of-view (FoV), crisp image without screen-door effect, high dynamic range, compact form factor and lightweight, and low power consumption. Such demanding requirements pose a significant challenge to traditional direct-view display panels. To address these technical challenges, novel approaches need to be proposed. This dissertation is devoted to developing next-generation high-performance display light engines toward high resolution density, high optical efficiency, wide color gamut, and small form factor. These emerging solutions will fuel the growth and accelerate the widespread applications of VR/AR devices. In Chapter 2, we propose practical measurement methods to characterize the halo artifacts of miniature light-emitting diode (mini-LED) backlit liquid crystal displays (LCDs). After measuring and characterizing a high dynamic range (HDR) light engine, we propose and develop field sequential color (FSC) LCDs for high-end virtual reality (VR) devices in Chapter 3. Such an FSC LCD can triple the resolution density and optical efficiency via eliminating color filters. To further mitigate the color breakup (CBU), we also propose to combine mini-LEDs with FSC LCDs to enable progressive emission and achieve a higher frame rate (~ 600 Hz). To quantitatively compare the CBUs corresponding to simultaneous emission, progressive emission, and stencil algorithm, we adopt the CIEDE2000 color difference as a metric. Quantitative simulation results of the CBU indicate that a 600-Hz subframe rate can help mitigate the CBU dramatically. Micro organic light-emitting diode (micro-OLED) exhibiting high-resolution density and high contrast ratio is another type of display for high-end VR devices. More specifically, white micro-OLED is currently employed because it helps ease the manufacturing difficulty. In Chapter 4, we optimize the layer thicknesses to achieve a maximum efficiency while keeping a decent color gamut. We also push the limit of color gamut toward ~ 95% Rec. 2020. Lastly, liquid-crystal-on-silicon (LCoS) offers great potential for achieving high-efficiency and high-resolution waveguide-based AR displays. In Chapter 5, several strategies are proposed and developed to improve the performance of LCoS microdisplays and enable a small pixel size. In Chapter 6, we briefly summarize our major accomplishments.

從傳統化工產業進入電子特用化學品的4C行銷競爭策略分析¬-以D公司為例 / Strategic Marketing Analysis for the Electronic Chemical Business-The Case of D company

Unknown Date (has links)
The electronic industry is one of the major industries in Taiwan. The chemicals consumption in this industry are huge and most imported from abroad. This could be the right industry or relative new area that the traditional chemical company in Taiwan can transform to. “D” company is a joint venture of “A” optoelectronic company (LCD panel maker) and “E” chemical company. “A” company knows the electronic products and technology trend, while “E” chemical has experience and professional knowhow in specialty chemical domain. “D” company possesses the knowledge of “know-what” and “know-how”, and is a successful chemical company in electronic industry. This study introduced the “4C Framework of Strategic Marketing Analysis” (Chiou 2014) and analyzed the key points that how the “D” company can succeed as a latecomer in the electronic chemical industry. By means of 4C analysis, it is clear to identify that the C2 (cost of information search) in “D” company is much lower than competitors due to belonging to the same group with major customer. By this, “D” company has the platform and advantages to further reduce the cost of utilities, such as technology learning curve and cost structure. By successfully introducing the products to customer one by one and build-up the credibility and reputation step by step, this can reduce the cost of moral hazard. However, the cost of asset specific is difficult to overcome. Sometime it needs to wait for the opportunity and/or the mistakes made by the competitors. With the overcome of cost of asset specific can bring more credit and reputation to further reduce the cost of moral hazard. This case study can be applied as the reference of strategic marketing analysis for transformation of traditional chemical company to electronic chemical company. It is also suitable in the area with high marketing barrier.

The TFT-LCD industry is known as the “second semi-conductor industry” of Taiwan, where, thanks to joint efforts of local talents, in 2006 both the shipment volume and the output value of Taiwan’s large-size TFT-LCD became No. 1 in the world. Because the industry is situated in a competitive environment that changes drastically, there exist several important issues that deserve further study, including how to identify core resources and core competences of the companies, consider development of enterprise resource bases, help management formulate the most adequate competitive strategies, and allow companies to continuously grow and develop in the competitive environment. This study adopts the qualitative case study method, where it uses three leading manufacturers that have the largest production output in Taiwan’s large-size TFT-LCD industry in 2006 (AU Optronics, Chi Mei Optoelectronics, and Chunghwa Picture Tubes, LTD.) as the subjects of this case study to conduct in-depth research on contents of and correlation among their core resources, core competences, competitive strategies, and competitive advantages. By induction from reference materials such as existing TFT-LCD-related data and the resource-based theory, as well as case study and analysis, this study presents main findings as follows: 1. The core resources owned by Taiwan’s TFT-LCD manufacturers come from combinations of unique heterogeneous resources owned by the companies, where their most important resource is intangible resource, their most important core competence is organization capability, their main competitive strategy is the cost leadership (or concentration) strategy, and their main corporate competitive advantage is organization capability. 2. Every TFT-LCD manufacturer in Taiwan is a combination of unique heterogeneous resources, so that each company performs differently from its competitors. 3. Correlation can be found in core resources, core competences, competitive strategies, and competitive advantages of Taiwan’s TFT-LCD manufacturers: core resources and core competences of the companies are the basis of formulation and execution of competitive strategies; corporate competitive advantages result from core resources and core competences, and the main resource is core competence; when a company makes profits, it is going to continuously develop company resources and competences, in order to maintain corporate sustainable competitive advantages.

Optique adaptative par modulateur spatial de lumière en microscopie et holographie / Adaptative optics with spatial light modulator for microscopy and holography

Gemayel, Pierre 18 February 2016 (has links)
[...] / Since the 50s, recovering the phase information of a diffracted beam has a major interest in several fields such as microscopy, astronomy and many others. Generally, the solutions fall into two broad categories: interferometric methods and iterative methods based on beam propagation. The advantage of the latter is that they are less sensitive to noise, and their experimental implementation is simpler. Also, the progress in computer technologies as well in digital imaging devices makes the application of this approach easier and more interesting. However, even if the effectiveness of these methods has been demonstrated in several fields, their use remained limited because of certain requirements on the experimental conditions and the non-convergence of their algorithm to a single solution in many cases. This is even more true for the so-called "complex objects", having an amplitude and a phase, which can greatly reduce their field of application. To overcome the convergence problems and improve the robustness of these methods, many experimental strategies have been employed. They are all based on the same principle, which consists of introducing new well-known constraints in the object plane. This increases the number of acquired spectrum, and therefore diversifies the sources of information about the starting object, which will help the iterative algorithm to converge more quickly towards the final solution. As examples of such experimental strategies, one can record several spectra from different areas of the object, or modulate the wavelength of the incident beam, or also acquire the spectrums across two or more parallel planes connected through Fresnel or Fourier transform. In this context, the present work aims to experimentally demonstrate a technique known as SSPR (Spread Spectrum Phase Retrieval), proposed in 2007 by Zhang, while modifying it in order to make it more flexible. The idea is to introduce, using a liquid crystal spatial light modulator M strong phase modulation into the object field, then record in the Fourier plane the M corresponding spectrums. These M acquisitions will then be used in an iterative algorithm what will allow us to recover the object wavefront by simulating the propagation of the light between spatial and frequency spaces. The first part of this thesis includes a complete study on spatial light modulators; in order to select which one will be best suited for our application. Once liquid crystal spatial light modulators are selected, we present their technical characteristics, as well as the calibration tests needed to ensure their linear and optimal functioning. Then we show several possible applications with this type of component, in various scientific fields, like holography, microscopy, adaptive optics and interferometric methods to reconstruct the phase of a beam.In the second part, we focus our work around the SSPR iterative method. We will show how to make the application of this method simpler by using a liquid crystal spatial light modulator, and by working in Fourier plane instead of Fresnel plane. However, after applying SSPR we have noticed that the quality of experimental results is very inferior to the quality of simulation results. Therefore, a detailed study of the noise sources is conducted. Each of these noise sources adds its own contribution, yet modulator cross-talk remains the factor that deteriorates the most the quality of reconstruction. In fact liquid crystal spatial light modulators are known to have a strong cross-talk between their pixels commonly recognized as fringing field effect. As the pixels are micrometric, each addressed one affects its neighbors, and thus, the phase retardation obtained from a pixel will not be uniform over its entire surface. This will result in a blurring effect of the desired sharp edge between the pixels; therefore, the real displayed phase map will be very different from the addressed one. [...]

智慧資源規劃—以TFT LCD之背光模組產業為例 / Study on intelligence resources planning─a case of backlight module in the TFT LCD industry

Huang, Yi Chun Unknown Date (has links)
Taiwan first engaged in TFT LCD industry in 1991. Only two small companies involved in the early stage; because of technical barriers established by Japan and insufficient economic scale of operation, there had been no breakthrough. Until 1998, the recession began, so that Japanese began to release the TFT LCD-related technologies by licensing or technology transfer, and resulting in the spread of technology. At this stage there are several Taiwanese manufacturers began to actively engage in TFT LCD industry. After years of efforts, the government has gradually begun to pay attention to TFT LCD industry. In 2003 the government put forward the "Two Trillion, Twin Stars" five-year national economic development plan, said plan provides resources to fully support both IC and TFT LCD industry, wherein TFT LCD is deemed next trillion industry, like Foundry, and may continue the lifeline of national science and technology. In the beginning, most people never heard of LCD. After eight years, Taiwan's LCD industry has flourished, not only has a number of world-class factories, but also has become a global center for flat panel displays. 2007 is also the most profitable year for Taiwan TFT LCD panel makers since their establishment. Taiwan's overall output value of flat panel displays exceed Korea for the first time; the overall revenue is about one trillion 2,849 billion Taiwan dollars, wherein Taiwan's TFT LCD accounted for 1 trillion 2,149 million Taiwan dollars, which also accounts for 44.5% share of the global TFT LCD output value. As of 2007, there are over 90 Taiwan companies related to TFT LCD industries, said companies contribute over 13% of GDP in Taiwan. This author wishes to take TFT LCD backlight industry as an example, performing investigation of intellectual property and industrial work, and try to examine the key patents of key players in the industry. The author looks forward to finding a new way to combine traditional patent analysis and industry analysis method, and make some contribution to the industry.

日系液晶顯示器關鍵材料廠商在台灣市場之策略行銷分析: 以4C架構分析 / Strategic marketing 4C analysis of Japanese LCD key component’s materials manufacturers in the Taiwan market

Matsuoka Shiho Unknown Date (has links)
TFT-LCD(薄膜電晶體液晶顯示器)是台灣全力發展的重點產業。 / TFT-LCD (thin film transistor liquid crystal display) is one of the key industries in Taiwan. TFT-LCD industry is characterized as a specialization industry. The LCD industry value chain can be divided into upstream materials manufacturers, the midstream panel manufacturers, and downstream application vendors. Upstream material parts include glass substrate, color filter, polarizer film, backlight module, the driver IC, and alignment layer. These essential components needed in LCD panel production account for more than 70% of the total cost in panel production. Therefore an important issue for panel makers is to reduce costs through integration. As many of the key components of the panel is the “design in product”, which need to be designed according to manufacturer's requirements and specifications, rapid communication and response between panel manufacturers and key components manufacturers is very important. Some materials are imported from abroad; Japanese companies have 90% market share in the alignment film market. Although the proportion of the cost structure of the LCD panel is not high, but the alignment layer is the key material to determine the quality of liquid crystal display panel. Two main alignment film makers are Nissan Chemical and JSR. They both are Japanese chemical companies. JSR devotes into Taiwanese market in 2005, and established JSRmicro. Nissan Chemical started its business in Taiwan at 2010, by establishing Taiwan Nissan Chemical. Nissan Chemical is the pioneer in liquid crystal alignment film and once had approximately 80 percent of market share 10 years ago, but it has declined to 50% as of now. Nissan Chemical transact through Japanese Sogo Shosha in Taiwai. JSR transact through Taiwanese intermediaries (Wahlee distributor) in Taiwan. In this study, Japanese liquid crystal alignment layer manufacturer Taiwan Nissan Chemical were professionally interviewed, then explored between Taiwan Nissan Chemical and the panel manufacturers’ industry chain. This study will also apply strategic marketing 4C framework for analysis, then conduct an in-depth investigation on how Taiwan Nissan Chemical reduces transaction costs for Taiwan LCD panel manufacturers, illustrate the company's competitive advantage through the transaction costs analysis, including buyer utility cost, information searching cost, moral hazard cost, and asset specificity cost, and lastly compare with the competitor’s transaction cost. The purposes of this research are: 1. The 4C relationship between Nissan Chemical and the client 2. The relationship between Nissan chemical and the distributors 3. The 4C comparison between Nissan Chemical and the competitor (JSR) The results of study show that: 1. A choice of intermediaries, the number of intermediaries, the number of product that intermediaries offer, and the services intermediaries provide will affect the transaction costs of Nissan Chemical for panel makers. 2. The product range provided by the suppliers within the same industry would affect the transaction costs of panel makers and intermediaries, 3. The well-known level of the manufacturer will affect the power of choice for intermediaries.
