the assumption of normality of the factors. Instead, we suppose that the joint distribution
of the factors and observational errors is a scale mixture of skew-normal distributions,
allowing us to model data following a nonstandard pattern, presenting skewness and heavy
tails at the same time. A relevant feature of the model is the parametrization used for the
scale mixture, defined in such a way that all the elements of the shape vector but the first
are guaranteed to be zero. / Apresenta-se, nesta dissertação, uma extensão do modelo de análise fatorial, através
da flexibilização da suposição de normalidade dos fatores e dos erros de observação.
Assume-se que a distribuição conjunta do vetor de erros de observação e do vetor de
fatores é uma mistura de escala da distribuição normal assimétrica, o que possibilita a
modelagem de dados que seguem um padrão não usual, apresentado assimetria e caudas
pesadas ao mesmo tempo, por exemplo. Uma característica relevante do modelo é a parametrização utilizada para a mistura de escala, definida de tal maneira que os elementos
do parâmetro vetor de forma, com exceção de um, sejam todos iguais a zero.

in Education from Federal University of Goiás/ Regional Catalão and it has by objective
understanding the trajectories of formation of five black teachers from the interior of the
state of Minas Gerais, Ituiutaba, at Normal Course, in the period of 1965/1971. The
deponents’ elections obey the following discretion: birth on 40’s and 50’s, working at
Elementary School’s first years and those who belong to the black population. Their life
stories were collected in the reason of understanding how mastership become a space of
social arise for those black women, deriving from subaltern social division. The oral
story was used as a strategy for an expression of the black teachers, consequently, color
to the Minas Gerais’ education’s history scene.
The undertaken study was made by a collection of methodological procedures, as:
bibliographical search, studies of written documental sources of personal and official
character, and oral production sources, based on the interviewed speeches, according
theoretical as: Portelli (1997), Alberti (1989), and others. Many inquiries and concerns
guided my studies, been those: if they realize distinction during the path of the
formation at Normal Course, related gender relations and whom belong to the black
population? How did they get to the Normal Course in private institutions? How was
the participation in school festivities? How was the insertion on teaching/job market?
For the development of the history of those black women in its student and teacher
trajectory, it was from fundamental significance discussion of the concepts of race,
racism, ethnicity and gender, extracted from Nascimento (1979), Fernandes (1979),
Munanga (1994), Hasenbalg (1979), Scott (1995), Hirata (2014), Gomes (1995), and
others. Moored on these authors discussed how was established, in Brazilian society, the
racial preconception and of gender, placing the interviewed in their formation context
and teaching practice, in a way that analyses the challenges and struggles they had in the
process of schooling and professionalization. / Esta pesquisa se vincula à linha História e Culturas Educacionais do Programa de Pósgraduação
em Educação da Universidade Federal de Goiás/ Regional Catalão e teve por
objetivo compreender as trajetórias de formação de cinco professoras negras do interior
de Minas Gerais, Ituiutaba, no Curso Normal, no período de 1965/1971. A seleção das
depoentes obedeceu aos seguintes critérios: nascimento na década de quarenta e
cinquenta, atuação nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental e pertença à população
negra. Suas histórias de vida foram coletadas no sentido de entender como o magistério
se transformou num espaço de ascensão social para essas mulheres negras, oriundas de
camadas sociais subalternas. A história oral foi utilizada como estratégia para as
professoras negras se expressarem, por conseguinte, trazer cor ao cenário da história da
educação mineira. O estudo empreendido se constituiu por meio de um conjunto de
procedimentos metodológicos, como: pesquisa bibliográfica, análise de fontes
documentais escritas, de caráter oficial e pessoal, e produção de fontes orais, com base
nas narrativas das entrevistadas, conforme teóricos como: Portelli (1997), Alberti
(1989), e outros. Várias indagações e inquietações nortearam meu olhar, quais sejam: se
elas percebiam distinção, ao longo da formação no Curso Normal, em função das
relações de gênero e pertença à população negra? Como chegaram ao Curso Normal em
instituições particulares? Como era a participação nas festividades da escola? Como se
deu o ingresso no magistério/mercado de trabalho? Para a construção da história dessas
mulheres negras em sua trajetória discente e docente, foi de fundamental importância
discussões dos conceitos de raça, racismo, etnia e gênero, extraídos de Nascimento
(1979), Fernandes (1979), Munanga (1994), Hasenbalg (1979), Scott (1995), Hirata
(2014), Gomes (1995), entre outros. Ancorando nesses autores discutiu-se como se
estabeleceu, na sociedade brasileira, o preconceito racial e de gênero, situando as
entrevistadas em seu contexto de formação e atuação docente, de modo a analisar os
desafios e enfrentamentos que viveram no processo de escolarização e
profissionalização.

Senator Hermenegildo Lopes de Morais, known as Nuns College, founded in the city of
Morrinhos, South of Goiás, by the Congregation of the Augustinian Missionaries. To think
female education in this institution, is adopted as the time frame period 1939-1968, which
represents the start and end of the action of the Augustinian Missionary nuns ahead of this
educational institution. It is assumed that the Catholic Church occupied a prominent place in
the educational process in the country, especially in the school education of women. In these
terms, a number of women's colleges were set up, destined for a refined formation marked by
Christian Catholic values, and habits and practices aimed at the formation of the wife, mother
and teacher. To these schools, society assigned responsibility for so-called "good training". In
Goiás, as well as in other states, several congregations have worked in the educational field,
among them, the Missionary Augustinian. Congregation founded in Spain in 1890, the
Augustinian Missionaries came to Brazil, specifically to Catalão-GO, in 1921, with the
purpose of assuming the education of children and young people. Subsequently, they spread
to other regions. Considering that women should be more educated than educated, the present
research highlights the training offered in this Catholic school: from language teaching to
good manners, habits, manual skills, housewares inherent to women's assignments, be they at
home or in the exercise of teaching profession. Thus, the study brings a discussion about
ultramontane Catholicism; the Congregation of the Augustinian Missionaries, contemplating
its action in the educational field, its objectives and practices; and about the college, its
regulations, curriculum and pupil. The research is characterized as documentary. / A presente pesquisa tem como objeto de estudo a educação feminina no âmbito da Escola
Normal Senador Hermenegildo Lopes de Morais, conhecida como Colégios das Freiras,
fundada na cidade de Morrinhos, Sul de Goiás, pela Congregação das Agostinianas
Missionárias. Para pensar a educação feminina nessa instituição, adota-se como recorte
temporal o período de 1939 a 1968, que corresponde ao início e término da ação das freiras
Agostinianas Missionárias à frente dessa instituição educativa. Parte-se do pressuposto de que
a Igreja Católica ocupou lugar destacado no processo educacional no país, principalmente na
educação escolar de mulheres. Nesses termos, criaram-se inúmeros colégios femininos,
destinados a uma formação refinada, marcada por valores cristãos católicos, e hábitos e
práticas com vistas à formação da esposa, mãe e professora. A essas escolas, a sociedade
atribuía a responsabilidade quanto à chamada “boa formação”. Em Goiás, assim como em
outros estados brasileiros, várias congregações atuaram no campo educacional, dentre elas, as
Agostinianas Missionárias. Congregação fundada na Espanha em 1890, as Agostinianas
Missionárias vieram para o Brasil, especificamente para Catalão-GO, em 1921, com a
finalidade de assumir a educação de crianças e jovens. Posteriormente, espalharam-se por
outras regiões. Considerando que as mulheres deviam ser mais educadas que instruídas, a
presente pesquisa destaca a formação oferecida nessa escola católica: do ensino de línguas às
boas maneiras, hábitos, habilidades manuais, prendas domésticas inerentes às atribuições
femininas, fossem elas no lar ou no exercício da profissão docente. Assim, o estudo traz uma
discussão sobre o catolicismo ultramontano; sobre a Congregação das Agostinianas
Missionárias, contemplando sua ação no campo educacional, seus objetivos e práticas; e
acerca do colégio, seus regulamentos, currículo e alunado. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como
documental.

Previous issue date: 2012-11-12 / The study has as focus the first group of the Normal Course of Canguçu, of the Franciscan School Ours Mrs. Aparecida tends as temporary cutting the period from 1965 to 1970, context in that happens the implantation of the course and graduation
of the group. We started by a contextualization of the municipality of Canguçu presenting the educational reality in the period of analysis. Following by a retrospect of Franciscan institutions until the arrival of the order in the city, emphasizing the conditions in which the installation of the normal course. We who were the students, as well as the first professionals who took part in this training. We analyzed the role of the enrolment of students, the curriculum, the rules, practice intra and walls, passing by the probationary and reaching to the day of graduation. The class was a milestone in the education of the municipality and the region, since that was the first teacher-training school in the city, while maintaining its activities until today, following ideals Franciscans. For this work we use documentary research and oral history in an attempt to presentificar the past absent, trying to weave the nexus, crossing the wires of various sources, up the history of education that we have now. Therefore the research is an important milestone in the education of Canguçu, being that this first class vanishes the change in the professionalization of the professor, raising the
quality of the work in schools. / O estudo tem como foco a primeira turma do Curso Normal de Canguçu, da Escola Franciscana Nossa Senhora Aparecida tendo como recorte temporal o período de 1965 a 1970, contexto em que ocorre a implantação do curso e formatura da turma. Começamos por uma contextualização do município de Canguçu apresentando a realidade educacional no período de análise. Seguindo por um retrospecto das instituições franciscanas até a chegada da ordem no município, enfatizando as condições em que se deu a instalação do curso normal. Apresentamos quem eram as alunas, bem como os primeiros profissionais que fizeram parte desta formação.
Analisamos o papel das matrículas das alunas, o currículo, o regimento, práticas intra e extramuros, passando pelo estágio e chegando ao dia da formatura. A turma representou um marco na educação do município e região, visto que foi a primeira escola de formação de professores no município, mantendo suas atividades até os dias de hoje, seguindo os ideais franciscanos. Para a realização deste trabalho
utilizamos pesquisa documental e história oral na tentativa de presentificar o passado ausente, buscando tecer os nexos, cruzando os fios de várias fontes, tramando a história da educação que ora apresentamos. Portanto a pesquisa constitui-se num importante marco na educação de Canguçu, sendo que esta primeira turma descortina a mudança na profissionalização do professor, elevando a qualidade do trabalho nas escolas.

Abstract Objective To study midwives' experiences of working with normal birth in multidisciplinary teams.
Methods This was a qualitative study based on Semi-structured interviews in focusgroups with 20 midwives at four maternity wards in mid-Sweden. Results The interviews revealed a theme as The midwifery profession is both strong and torned at normal birth in hospital. The results describe that midwives are working independently and are responsible for the normal birth in multidisciplinary team. Hierarchies and relationships influence the independence of the midwives in their work with normal birth. The midwives were also using tools as risk evaluation and medical rounds to identify normal birth. There are no independent guidelines designed by midwives for the normal birth in maternity care. Heavy workload affects the midwives’ ability to work evidence-based and resulted in changes of practices in normal birth. Conclusion The midwives consider they sometimes share involuntary the responsibility in normal birth. A good cooperation and communication is important within a multidisciplinary team for the midwives to support normal birth. Keywords: collaboration, midwives, normal birth, professional responsibility / Sammanfattning Bakgrund Att arbeta som barnmorska i Sverige innebär att ansvara för kvinnans vård vid den normala förlossningen. När denna avviker vidtas adekvata åtgärder samt en bedömning av när samverkan krävs med andra professioner. Barnmorskans arbete och ansvar har förändrats över tid och tvärprofessionellt samarbete har växt fram som en rådande arbetsmodell inom förlossningsvården. Syfte: Att studera barnmorskors upplevelser av att handlägga normala förlossningar i tvärprofessionella arbetsgrupper. Metod: Semistrukturerade fokusgruppsintervjuer med 20 barnmorskor vid fyra olika förlossningsavdelningar i Mellansverige. Resultat: Ur fokusgruppsintervjuerna framkommer temat Barnmorskeprofessionen är både stark och söndrad vid normala sjukhusförlossningar. Resultatet visar att barnmorskorna är oftast självständigt ansvariga för den normala förlossningen i en tvärprofessionell arbetsgrupp. Hierarkier och relationer påverkar barnmorskornas självständighet vid handläggningen av den normala förlossningen. Barnmorskorna använder förutom sin professionella kunskap olika verktyg som riskevaluering och rond för att identifiera normala förlossningar. Det saknas självständigt utformade riktlinjer av barnmorskor för normal förlossning inom förlossningsvården. Hög arbetsbelastning påverkar barnmorskans möjligheter att arbeta från ett evidensbaserat perspektiv vilket resulterar i ett förändrat arbetssätt vid normal förlossning. Slutsats: Barnmorskor anser att de ibland har ett ofrivilligt delat ansvar vid normal förlossning. Ett gott samarbete och kommunikation har betydelse inom ett tvärprofessionellt team för att barnmorskan kan stödja kvinnans normala födande. Suppose two or more variables are jointly normally distributed. If there is a common relationship between these variables it would be very important to quantify this relationship by a parameter called the correlation coefficient which measures its strength, and the use of it can develop an equation for predicting, and ultimately draw testable conclusion about the parent population.
This research focused on the correlation coefficient ρ for the bivariate and trivariate normal distribution when equal variances and equal covariances are considered. Particularly, we derived the maximum Likelihood Estimators (MLE) of the distribution parameters assuming all of them are unknown, and we studied the properties and asymptotic distribution of . Showing this asymptotic normality, we were able to construct confidence intervals of the correlation coefficient ρ and test hypothesis about ρ. With a series of simulations, the performance of our new estimators were studied and were compared with those estimators that already exist in the literature. The results indicated that the MLE has a better or similar performance than the others.

Bakgrund: De stora medicinska framstegen som åstadkommits inom förlossningsvården genom historien har varit revolutionerande för kvinnor och barn vilket bidragit till en minskad mödra- och barnadödlighet. Barnmorskan är expert på normal graviditet och födsel, och har både förr och nu en avgörande roll för folkhälsans positiva utveckling. Trots denna utveckling minskar antalet normala födslar och parallellt ses en ökning av onödiga interventioner inklusive en ökad andel kejsarsnitt. Syfte: Att klargöra vad som främjar en normal födsel från barnmorskans och kvinnans perspektiv. Metod: Litteraturöversikt med systematisk ansats utfördes genom databassökning i PubMed och CINAHL. Artiklarna kvalitetgranskades genom Caldwells kvalitetsgranskningsmall och dataanalysen utfördes genom en integrerad analys av fem kvantitativa respektive 11 kvalitativa artiklar som svarade på studiens syfte och frågeställningar. Resultat: Studiens resultat klargjorde vad som främjar normal födsel och redovisades genom fyra huvudkategorier. Kategorin stöd identifierade hur kontinuerlig närvaro, empowerment och mödravårdens förlossningsförberedelse främjade det normala. Kategorin omgivning redovisade hur vårdorganisationen och födelserummet antingen kunde främja eller hämma den normala födelseprocessen. Kategorin barnmorskans betydelse redovisades genom hur barnmorskans kompetens, handläggande och egenskaper kunde påverka förloppet. Slutligen visade kategorin kvinnans individuella förutsättningar hur medicinska faktorer, den egna förberedelsen samt copingstrategier underlättade eller hindrade en normal födsel. Slutsats: För att främja normal födsel krävs en genuin tro på den normala födelseprocessen av både barnmorskan och kvinnan. Studien visar på hur barnmorskan självständigt kan främja processen genom sitt förhållningssätt där stöd är avgörande. Ytterligare huvudfynd visar dock på hur vårdorganisationen kan ha en hämmande inverkan. Kontinuitetsmodeller är den mest framgångsrika vårdformen för att främja normal födsel och trots detta är denna vårdform högst begränsad i Sverige. Istället visar studier på hur obstetrikerledda förlossningsenheter med utbredd riskkultur dominerar. Midwives are experts in normal pregnancy and birth, having a decisive role in the positive development of public health. Despite this development, the number of normal births are decreasing while there is an increase in unnecessary interventions, including caesarean sections. Aim: To clarify what promotes a normal birth from a midwife and woman's perspective. Method: Literature review with a systematic approach was carried out by database search in PubMed and CINAHL. The articles were quality reviewed using the Caldwell quality framework. The data analysis was performed through an integrated analysis of five quantitative and 11 qualitative articles that answered the aim of the study. Results: The findings clarified factors promoting normal birth and were presented through four main categories: Support identified how continuous presence, empowerment and maternity care's birth preparation promoted normality. Environment reported how care organizations and delivery rooms could either inhibit or promote normal birth. Midwife's importance was reported through how midwife's experience, competence, handling and characteristics could influence the process. Finally woman's individual conditions showed how medical factors, own preparation and coping strategies facilitated or hindered normal birth. Conclusion: To promote normal birth, a genuine belief in normal birth is required by midwives and women. Findings show how midwives independently can promote normal birth through her approach where support was crucial. However, further findings show how care organizations could have an inhibiting impact. Continuity of care models has proven to be the most successful care in promoting normal birth. Despite this, these models are highly limited in Sweden. Instead, studies show how obstetrician-led delivery units with a widespread culture of risk are dominant. This is problematic as studies show how unnecessary interventions and cesarean sections are reduced with continuity of care models.
