Abnormal daily situations and negative affects in Peru / Situaciones cotidianas anómalas y afectos negativos en el Perú

León, Ramón 25 September 2017 (has links)
Four hundred seventy nine Peruvian students (188 mal e and 291 female) rated the frequency of negative social emotions in themselves, in their neighborhood, and in the Peruvian society; and the frequency of anomalous daily situations. Verbal aggressions and gossiping obtained the highest averages in the evaluations of affects in the neighborhood, but solidarity was rated as high than the negative affects. In the Peruvian society, envy and physical aggression were rated asthe highest, and the positive affects obtained the smallest averages. To be a victim of an assault,to be cheated, and to be insulted obtained the highest averages in anomalous situations. Resentment and anger were the most salient negative affects.

Every human action has the intrinsic characteristics of unpredictability and irreversibility. Starting from this assumption, we know then that man is free to initiate their actions and, when this occurs, there is always a purpose in action. Notwithstanding, one can‘t calculate or predict with absolute certainty what will trigger that action, regardless of its results will be misfortune or fortune. Nietzsche tells us about the important human ability to forget. This ability would be related and would move in a constant power struggle with other capacity also of great importance: the memory. We will highlight the concept of "forgetting" in Nietzsche‘s philosophy. This concept will be related to other essential concepts to understand the meaning of activity assigned to oblivion in Nietzsche. We will analyze mainly the concepts of memory, history, promise, resentment, guilt and moral. Forgetting in Nietzsche‘s work is a key concept to understand what he means by a strong health. Forgetting enables to man the emergence of the new again and again.

However, it is necessary to investigate the possibilities of a melodrama that is not rooted in representing morals to be followed, but morals to be reflected by the viewers themselves. In the first moment, this article presen ts a study about the birth of the melodrama. The connection between victim and oppressor and the dichotomy that exists in the elemental paradigm of the melodrama also will be purpoused. Lastly, it will be investigated the possibillity of criating melodrama that are not fundamented in the judeo -christian culture; for that, it will be made a study of the movie Ali: Fear eats the soul and The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant.

Antonio RogÃrio da Silva Moreira 07 December 2009 (has links)
The goal of this dissertation is to examine and explain the moral review on Nietzscheâs thoughts, especially the Judeo-Christian moral, diagnosed as the moral of resentment. A moral able to immobilize the noblest instincts and discard all values that harmonize and beautify life. Assuming that this diagnosis is critical for his finalphilosofical- project - the transvaluation of values - we decided to use his interpretation of the moral from his recent writings, in particular, the Genealogy of Morals. This writing, during this analysis, is first seen as a method, a procedure introduced by Nietzsche, essential for the establishment of the transvaluation project, which comprehends life expansion and morale destruction. Then, it is interpreted as a genealogy that will show three distinct forms of internalizing resentment. In third place, The Twilight of the Idols and the Antichrist are presented. In these works, Nietzsche brings some historical figures and movements that, according to him, as well as Christianity, are impregnated with resentment. Finally, we outline a perspectivist answer to the problems previously discussed. Thus, in opposition to the closed discourse of resentment morality that has only one direction to its findings, and which elects the beyond, the eternal and the immutable as the way to men happiness, we prefer, in this test, which is proposed as unfinished and incomplete, saying the multiple as the object of life affirmation

In Defense of the “Forgotten Man”: The Sustained Legacy of the Southern Strategy on the Post-Reagan Era Presidency

Williams, Stephanie Lynn 09 April 2019 (has links)
Political and historical literature largely attributes the political development of the Southern Strategy to the 1964 Barry Goldwater and 1968 Richard Nixon presidential campaigns. The Southern Strategy is commonly explained as the Republican Party’s 1964 campaign decision to abandon Black voters in the North to expand its national political base of support by seeking White voters outside of the South who were angry with the political advancements of the Civil Rights Movement (Aistrup 1996, 5; Bass and DeVries 1976, 27). Discussions of Ronald Reagan’s role in the development of the Southern Strategy describe him more as a beneficiary rather than a significant influence in the Republican Party’s efforts to nationalize Southern racial politics (Aistrup 1996, 12; Black and Black 2002, 4). However, his speeches equated social spending with racial stigmas and pathological behavior. The fusion of economic issues and racial stereotypes has influenced future presidential politics since 1964 with Reagan’s “A Time for Choosing” speech (Reagan 1964). The racialized language used by Reagan in his speech has influenced the rhetorical frame of the Southern Strategy in the last six decades. This qualitative study utilizes content analysis to examine the impact of racially coded language of Democratic and Republican presidents, from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama, when they argue the legitimacy of the social safety net. The study seeks to expand the knowledge of the prevalence of the politics of pathology, which is defined as the belief that social spending encourages individuals to engage in immoral behavior and is used by presidents to mitigate or cultivate racial resentment.

Sexism and Women: The Implications of Female Gender Resentment

Regnier-Bachand, Christine 01 January 2015 (has links)
Do women suffer from a societal Stockholm Syndrome which leads them to display high levels of modern and traditional sexist behavior? Does a woman*s level of modern or traditional sexist behavior influence her political choices? Female gender resentment and sexist biases are an understudied area of the extant literature on sexism. Typically the focus is placed on men*s sexist attitudes and treatment of women, but is it possible that women also contribute to the subordination of their gender through sexist practices? These are questions which this thesis attempts to answer. The findings indicate that working women under the age of 39 are more likely to display modern sexist behavior and that female homemakers under the age of 39 display high levels of traditionally sexist behavior. These attitudes carry over into the political decision making processes and have a negative impact on whether a woman would be likely to support a female presidential candidate.

This study concerns the dynamic of the trajectories of poor people, examining the expectancies and values that give them motivation for a struggle process for recognition. We discuss the behavior of these workers, who face hard working and social conditions and struggle for dignity without accepting their situation in an apathetic manner. Studies have evidenced that the lives of the poor might produce reflection and also the struggle to change the way poor people are seen by society. It seems consensual that this change presumes or engenders a struggle for recognition, in which one aims leaving this place considered humiliating, of obstruction, to get to a more humanized place and having possibility of talking about oneself. To understand this dynamic, the theoretical literature of the dissertation includes authors that articulate an objective analysis of the social structure with the subjectivity of the agents involved, employing concepts such as precarious habitus, social humiliation, resentment and struggl

The rearrangement of the oligarchic interests within the Social Democratic Party and within the Tillage Party worked their way in supressing democratic acess to the minimum forms in the State apparatus. It is in this context of exclusion and frustration that AIB (Brazilian Integralist Action Party) founds, in 1935, the integralist center of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim. There the party finds a set of factors for it s growth. In the state of Espírito Santo, it found good soil for it s expansion, mainly around the italian colonized regions. Even though Cachoeiro de Itapemirim is not a proeminently italian colinized county, in many districts and counties in the vicinities the italian descendencies are numerous, like in Floresta, Castelo, Alegre, Venda Nova do Imigrante and others. In these regions, AIB displays all its power and organization. Furthermore, once Cachoeiro de Itapemirim was by the time a major political and economic centre in the state s south region, the circulation of people and ideas was intense. Thereto, AIB had the support of a strong ally, namely, the Church, above all when it came to be against the communism and the freemasonry. The integralist members from Cachoeiro also employed a lot the integralist symbols and rites, beyond the use of parades and prints as strategies to regimentate and propagate the Doctrine of the Sigma. Indeed, AIB s growth made the former parties and political movements unite themselves in a anti-integralist campaign. Right after AIB s foundation in Cachoeiro, the city became stage of a fierce conflict. The National Freedom Alliance (Aliança Nacional Libertadora) gathered a great cluster in a anti-facist assembly in Estrela Field with the intention of disrupting a integralist congress in the city. After that they went to Leopoldina Station to stop the disembark of a integralist entourage. A day before, november 1st of 1935, Alberto Secchin, a young integralist, have been murdered in an ambush next to Morro Grande. The integralists spent Memorial Day watching their fellow s body. Tension was rising. From this, that with was supposed to be just a congress turned out to be one of the most controversial and tragical conflicts in the politics history of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim

Nietzsche e a rebelião escrava do ocidente

No. of bitstreams: 1 Tiago Dobos de Moraes.pdf: 4268619 bytes, checksum: eaf81444c6e38c1a3225edc9af3a7c32 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-12-03 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / This thesis focuses on explaining the movement called by Nietzsche as "Slave Revolt in Morality", engages throughout the history of the western world, whose remarkable figures were the propagators of Christianity. We intend to elucidate that the said "Revolt.. ", presented by the Nietzschean interpretation, reversed the world bringing and stirring all the symptoms of the human weakness, which becomes clear in his most intense attacks, written in The Genealogy of Morals and The Antichrist. Such outlines of fragility are grouped around the moral concept of Good and Bad, focused on the message displayed by Christianity. This paper aims to address the shift of the valuation form when there was strength, health in the world, represented by Good and Mean, to the degenerative valuation form of Good and Evil. In this case there is the concern with showing the Nietzsche's criticism as a will of power used to destroy the aegis of the winning moral, that of the Good and Evil, as a will of power used to destroy the aegis of the winning moral, that of the Good and Evil, constantly emphasizing the consensual judgment that there isn't in Nietzsche's own work a total disruption of the need and importance of a moral - what would be even an awful distortion of the Nietzschean philosophy -, but the purpose to allow new moral forms moral, this time no longer degenerative / Esta dissertação se concentra em explicitar o movimento denominado por Nietzsche de "Rebelião Escrava da Moral", travado ao longo da história do mundo ocidental, e que teve como figuras marcantes os difusores do Cristianismo.
