Environmental puzzles in escape rooms : How can story-driven puzzles contribute to the aesthetic design of the environment in an escape room?

Bengthagen, Lina January 2022 (has links)
<p>Artefakt??!!</p>

”Vi är väl alla kompisar?”

Bergström, Josefine, Christerson, Stinha January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of our study was to examine how children in a municipal preschool inSweden describe the relationships they have with their peers. Throughout the study, wehave used a qualitative method with observations of children and conducting interviewswith them. We then analyzed how they describe and act in their existing relationships. The aim of our study was to observe if the hierarchy and the indoor environment havean impact on children’s relationships. We did this through interviews with the childrenabout their friendships amongst each other at the preschool. Our theoretical output was to observe and listen to the children through the participantperspective (Sommer, 2005) and the socio-cultural perspective (Säljö, 2000). During thestudy, we had a thesis that the perspectives would complement each other, which wassupported by our results. The two perspectives complement each other depending on theparticipating individual and the situation. The interviews showed that the children are well aware of how they should act towardstheir peers, but the observations show that they will use the means necessary to achievea higher position within the hierarchy. The result also showed that the relationships arenot in a static mode, but are in constant movement and are affected by the groupconstellation and the location of the play.

Group dynamics in escape rooms : How does environmental storytelling influence group dynamics progressively within groups larger than the norm in European escape rooms?

Johansson, Wilma, von Schéele Frejd, Anton January 2022 (has links)
<p>[Artefakt?]</p>

Inhabiting the Drawing

Sambor, Madeline Lou 14 July 2017 (has links)
To inhabit a space is to be within that space. The interiority of a room places emphasis on inhabitation. By inhabiting a room, one perceives the phenomenal qualities of that room. To inhabit a drawing is to do so imaginatively rather than perceptively. Perspective drawings can shape imagination by defining form, light, and context. They capture and frame an instant in space and time. The presence of light in a drawing creates an awareness of the outside. These qualities of drawings allow the viewer to imagine a room through inhabitation. A series of nine rooms were developed in perspective with elements articulated through tracing, translation, rotation, and refection. Three of these nine rooms were chosen for further investigation through drawing. Drawings were then tested against formal models. / Master of Architecture

Jeddah Auto Mall

Altahlawi, Naif 05 November 2008 (has links)
This Project demonstrates a constructive approach in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where the building would be a symbol of luxury. The auto mall gives a common platform to different car makers to display their cars and address their competition under one roof which would be convenient for customers to compare cars. The building has twelve show room units. Each unit has a display area, offices, and a service area. The roof structure system facilitates a large open span beneath it. A series of concrete arches is the most significant element of design in the building since it not only holds the roof structure but also brings its individuality and defines the character of the building. With a free column plan beneath it, customers will have a better view of cars presented in show rooms. The structural system in lower floors is separated from the roof to facilitate a different structure system. This project is designed to attract tourists as well as local residents to address the growth and the new social life of the Middle East's wealthiest city. / Master of Architecture

Gruppdiskussioner på distans - framgångsrikt eller inte? / Distance group discussions – successful or not?

Mårtensson, Fredrik, Nilsson, Linus January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to examine teachers' and students' distant group discussions within Zoom's function breakout rooms, and how the students' involvement has consequently been affected. The study is based on three semi-structured focus groups made with students and teachers with experience of distant group discussions inside breakout rooms. Based on the empirical material from the focus groups, it is clear that the respondents largely focus on functionality, flexibility as well as social relations and camera usability. Based on the empirical material, it appears that there have been benefits in the form of a simplicity and flexibility for the teacher respondents to design group discussions, as well as the flexibility that has given the students increased freedom. However, it appears from the student respondents that the perception of distancing is based on impaired communication with teachers and students, difficulties in the form of distractions and a deteriorating relationship with their classmates, which consequently has affected students' commitment negatively.

A epifania digital dos chats - escritura e subjetivação cibercultural / Digital epiphany on chat-rooms: writing and subjectivation on cyberculture

Bastos, Marco Toledo de Assis 12 September 2005 (has links)
The present dissertation concerns Internet chat-rooms making an effort to work them with a different approach. It is not about surrounding the object but trying a kind of conversation with them. It is an attempt to pursue it across bits. Roughly speaking, this work is divided in three major chapters or sections: The first chapter intends to clarify the relation between researcher and object embraced in this work. In fact, some parts of this chapter are written in first person. The point is to show how this object (chatrooms) comes to the researcher. In theoretical terms, it is to say how subject (a concept no longer used on this work) can represent itself with such a shifty object. The last extract on this chapter, Modus Operandi, is about the very methodological issue that guides this investigation. It is on the second chapter that subjectiveness comes to surface. It is an attempt to map these little spots in cyberculture we call bubble-characters and also to point out their very nomad technique of doing and undoing culture. War, Control and Terrorism: electronic communication presents a vast amount of phenomena not clearly referred previous to this networking era. That means power has also been shaped in fresh new ways. The last two excerpts of this chapter concerns this strange modality in spectral communication. It is about how these subjectivity machines work on contemporaneity. The third and last chapter is mostly about the writing style this medium brings on. Once again, the aim is to discuss how this intangible and networked text turns to be composed by small clusters called nicks. It is focused on language, imagination, and a seduction of the text which is an image itself. These are all questions theory of communication can no longer evade. However, it is not enough to just discuss how interactivity on Internet creates new subjectivity. It is also important to identify how these interactions create a new logic of communication conspicuously innovative. It is mandatory to identify how this feedback circuit works thus creating reality.

"Om man bara kunde få in den utopin i ett omklädningsrum" : En studie om upplevelsen av kroppsnormativitet i badhus / “If you only could get that utopian in a dressing room” : A study regarding the experience of body-normativity in public swimming pools

Morén, Kajsa January 2019 (has links)
Who is welcome in the public swimming pool? What makes different spaces and rooms more comfortable and accessible than others? The empirical material of this study is built on four interviews with people who have a non-normative body. Their experiences and emotions concerning the public swimming pool are studied through an intersectional and phenomenological perspective. With these perspectives’ assumptions, emotions and approaches concerning swimming pools in relation to bodynormativity have become noticeable. Specific viewpoints have been centered on ableism, gender and body size. One observation has been made in a public swimming pool with the intention to raise awareness of my own body in the specific context. With that insight I can relate my observation to the statements that were reached through the interviews. Generally, bodynormativity is something that we are all aware of and likely adapted to. Dressing rooms and spaces where naked bodies meet are tending to bring awareness to your own body. The main conclusions of this study are that changing the design of dressing rooms and developing a private space to change and shower in will make the situation safer. Onward highlighting a public dialogue to question stigmas related to non-normative bodies will in the end benefit non-normative bodies to feel more welcome in places like public swimming pools.
