Vývoj partnerských forem v České republice: trendy a kontexty / Development of partner forms in the Czech Republic: trends and patterns

Vyplel, Dan January 2018 (has links)
The objective of this study is to create comprehensive overview of the development of partner forms in the Czech republic from 1961 to 2016 and their own analysis. This thesis is divided into two parts, where the first part deals with analyzes of individual partner forms, namely in the form of analysis of primo-nuptiality, especially from generation perspective, analysis of divorce rate, analysis of marriages of divorced and analysis of cohabitation. This diploma thesis is so independently connected to my bachelor thesis, using the same primo-nuptiality life tables which had been calculated by a uniform methodology for absolute mutual comparability. These life tables, supplemented by another two years, were also used here to calculate the indicators in the already mentioned generational view of primo-nuptiality. The second part of this thesis is then devoted to the analysis of the International Social Survey Programme for the Czech Republic, focusing only on the part of the Family for 1994 and 2012 and their mutual comparison and transitions. Keywords: primo-nuptiality life tables, cohort, nuptial, marriage, divorce, cohabitation, ISSP, Czech Republic, IBM SPS

Customer Perceptions of Child Safety towards Residential Furniture

Zhu, Yajie January 2018 (has links)
With the nature of exploring and less awareness of danger, furniture at home has been causing various kinds of child injury all over the world. Furniture tipping over is one emerging cause among children under 6 years old. Despite of the importance of child safety, it lacks evidence about people’s perceptions of child safety towards residential furniture. Hence, this thesis used the theory of consumer behaviour to identify factors that can potentially effect perceptions and applied quantitative and qualitative methods to find out perceived importance of child safety when people buy furniture and how people perceive child safety in a given case. It has been found that people perceive child safety much less important when buying furniture not specifically for children. Some factors, such as age, income have influence on it. In the given case of chest of drawers, when perceived to be more likely to tip over, people are more willing to anchor a chest of drawers. It has also found that a three-row and shallow type has mixed perceptions. When the weight of a chest is perceived to be more important, people agree more on the statement that a heavier chest of drawers is less likely to tip over. Although anchoring is considered to be an efficient way of preventing tipping over, results showed that it is not a preferred way for most people. Further study is needed to find out other ways. Information of child safety is welcomed by most of the people. More research can be done to find out effective ways of displaying child safety information.

Munkert, Joel, Åman, Fredrik January 2017 (has links)
Introduction: Firm growth has been carefully studied in the field of business administration &amp; economics. The area is very heterogeneous and the cause of firm growth seem to differ substantially. This paper aims to investigate the growth of longtime gazelle firms. Earlier studies in the research area has mainly focused on the time up towards firms gain their reputation as gazelles. Purpose: This study therefore aims to investigate the further growth of 652 gazelle firms in Sweden, during the time of 2005 – 2015, and what variables which seem to influence their growth. Theory: The study is mainly based on a widespread sample of research in the field of firm growth, reaching from the early 20th century and towards. The selection of investigated firm variables, which is thought to correlate with firm growth, has been carefully selected on this basis. Method: A longitudinal panel has been conducted where a few firm specific variables has been collected and used in a series of multivariate analysis, where growth has acted a dependent variable. Earlier studies regarding gazelles and firm growth has acted as a fundament and guideline and the population is based on a list of gazelle firms conducted by the Swedish magazine Dagens Industri from year 2005. Conclusion: Factors such as the gazelle firms age and governance is thought to have an impact on their relative and absolute growth. Also factors such as initial size, industry and geographical market/origin seem to some degree have an impact on gazelle firms’ growth.

Venture Performance and Motivation of Business Foundation - An empirical Study in the Free-state Saxony / Unternehmenserfolg und Motive der Existenzgründung - Eine empirische Untersuchung im Freistaat Sachsen

Kegel, Anja 26 January 2015 (has links) (PDF)
The purpose of this paper is to analyse the factors of successful entrepreneurship, whether or not age, sex or personal traits such as motivation and level of risk / sacrifice determine the outcome of business or if more external factors are the key drivers. Furthermore the research focusses on entrepreneurship in the New Laender, particularly Saxony, after the reunification and the importance for the economy in general. The research was done through interviews and mail-outs of questionnaires to more than 100 recently founded enterprises of which 102 replies were utilized in the final analyses. Hypotheses of potential correlation between personal traits and characteristics and success of business were analysed and tested using SPSS factor analyses. The SPSS analysis concentrated on 35 characteristics with 5 different values and an additional 7 factors: - Level of independence - Priority of family - Level of self-reliance - Political motivation in decision making - Priority of the business itself - Conflict potential - Level of risk taking Utilizing the ‚Chi-Square-Independence‘ - test further correlation analyses was performed to investigate the 7 factors and their individual relation / dependency with the two main characteristics Growth of Turnover and Return on Investment

Why Does Cash Still Exist? / Varför Existerar Fortfarande Kontanter?

Asplund, Oscar, Tzobras, Othon January 2018 (has links)
With non-cash transactions on the rise and the debate about the future cashless society is raging, cash is still being used around the world with varying degrees. This thesis studies the behavioral determinants of consumers with regard to cash usage. The current research have found several determinants of consumer behavior and this study aims at combining the existing knowledge into one model that might explain peoples’ payment medium behaviors. The method chosen in this thesis was to do a factor analysis in order to validate the hypothesized model. The obtained data-set was analyzed by using IBM SPSS Statistics, version 24.0.0.0. To start with the data was deemed to be suitable after checking the adequacy of our data set through a KMO and Bartlett’s test and further by looking at the MSA table where the variables score quite high indicating that the data is suitable. Secondly the results from the factor analysis indicated that there are eight components extracted with some components being uncorrelated but the majority of extracted components from the output being correlated. Finally we found that our theoretical model holds but we recommend further research to be conducted on how locations determine cash usage. Moreover, we noted that some components into the socio-demographic groups are uncorrelated and thus we would like to recommend further research into the statistical validity of the model.

Coping with stress during report writing in an ODL environment

Silinda, Fortunate Tintswalo 06 1900 (has links)
The aim of this study was to demonstrate how postgraduate students cope with the stress induced while adjusting to the various proposal and research report writing phases they are involved in. It is further purported that difficulties in adjusting to the various proposal and research report writing phases and lack of support lead to students experiencing stress. The population consisted of 815 students enrolled for masters and doctoral programmes at Unisa for the 2012 academic year. This study employed the Stress and Support Questionnaire for University Students to determine the stress postgraduate students encountered while adjusting to the proposal and research report writing phases they were in. Furthermore, this questionnaire was also used to understand how these students use support as a coping mechanism. The various research hypotheses were tested using an explanatory mixed method research design. The population consisted of 815 students enrolled for masters and doctoral programmes at Unisa for the 2012 academic year. Data was analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), Strata software and Microsoft Excel. Statistical analyses included tests, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and chi-square tests. The results demonstrated that students experience stress during the adjustment process to the various research report writing phases. However, masters students showed higher levels of stress while adjusting to the research report writing phases, compared with doctoral students. Some of the doctoral students reported that they felt fewer levels of stress, because they were already exposed to postgraduate studies and were aware of what is expected. Furthermore, students who reported feeling stress to a large extent indicated the reasons to be a lack of support from supervisors, delayed and insufficient feedback, lack of financial support, lack of social support, procrastination, and balancing work and studies. Some of the students iv indicated that they do not feel any stress at all because they have surrounded themselves with people who have travelled the path, and their environment is conducive to study. Support from colleagues at work, supervisors, friends and family have also shown to help students adjust to the research report writing phases of their programmes. Although some of the students indicated that they do not experience stress, it is imperative that interventions be designed for those students who do experience challenges when adjusting to the research report writing phases. / Psychology / MA (Psychology)
