Foi objetivo desta pesquisa estudar a relaÃÃo do tempo de serviÃo e do comprometimento organizacional como indicadores de satisfaÃÃo em uma empresa familiar de Fortaleza. A relevÃncia desse estudo decorre da necessidade de se empreender novos temas que agreguem possibilidades de articulaÃÃo à temÃtica do comprometimento organizacional a partir do modelo multidimensional proposto por Rego (2003), a saber: comprometimento afetivo, futuro comum, escassez de alternativas, sacrifÃcios avultados, comprometimento normativo e ausÃncia psicolÃgica. A pesquisa foi realizada em uma empresa de grande porte do segmento metalÃrgico nos meses de julho e agosto de 2008. Participaram dessa pesquisa 272 colaboradores distribuÃdos entre os nÃveis operacionais, administrativos, coordenadores, gerentes e diretores. O delineamento do presente estudo se fundamenta quanto à abordagem do problema, quantitativa e qualitativa e, quanto ao mÃtodo, estudo de caso. Os dados analisados foram coletados a partir de um questionÃrio. O referencial teÃrico procura arrolar as instÃncias comprometimento organizacional, tempo de serviÃo, satisfaÃÃo no trabalho e gestÃo de empresa familiar como forma de empreender padrÃes de relaÃÃo e de influÃncia entre elas. Destacam-se como principais resultados obtidos o alto grau de comprometimento afetivo, normativo e futuro comum, bem como o baixo grau de comprometimento do tipo sacrifÃcios avultados, escassez de alternativas e ausÃncia psicolÃgica percebido entre todos os colaboradores da empresa pesquisada; concluiu-se que os colaboradores que sÃo considerados mais antigos, tendem a demonstrar um sensÃvel crescimento no comprometimento afetivo e significativo crescimento do normativo; e por fim verificou-se que os colaboradores que nÃo fazem parte da famÃlia apresentam maiores graus de comprometimento em todas as dimensÃes do comprometimento proposto por Rego (2003). / The objective of this paper is to study the relationship between seniority and organizational commitment as indicators of satisfaction in a family company in Fortaleza. Its relevance comes from the necessity of undertaking new themes that bring together possibilities of articulation to the theme of organizational commitment from the multidimensional pattern proposed by Rego (2003), namely: affective commitment, common future, alternatives shortage, substantial sacrifices, norm commitment, and psychological absence. The survey was conducted in a large company in the metallurgical segment in July and August 2008. Two hundred and seventy two employees from operational, administrative, coordinative, managerial and directorial levels participated in this study. Concerning the approach of the problem, the outline of this study has its base on quantitative and qualitative grounds, and its method is based on case study. The analyzed data was collected from a questionnaire. The theory used employs concepts as âorganizational commitmentâ, âseniorityâ, âsatisfactionâ, and âmanagement of family businessâ as a way to undertake patterns of relationships and influence among them. We highlight as main results the high level of affective commitment, normative commitment and communal future, as well as the low level of substantial sacrifice commitment, alternatives shortage and psychological absence perceived among all the employers of the company; weâve concluded that employees with seniority display a slight increase in affective commitment and significant increase in normative commitment; and, finally, we have verified that employees who are not part of the family demonstrate higher levels of commitment in all dimensions of commitment as proposed by Rego (2003).

Corpos ubíquos : um estudo etnográfico sobre a construção social dos corpos em Moçambique

Em Moçambique, as discussões sobre equidade de gênero e inserção das mulheres no espaço público têm ocupado cada vez mais lugar de destaque na sociedade. Motivados pela democracia (realidade recente) e pelos acordos ratificados pelo governo do país, homens e mulheres de diferentes quadrantes da sociedade desenvolvem estudos de natureza diversa, mostrando que apesar de existir um esforço por parte do governo e seus parceiros, agências multilaterais de desenvolvimento, ONGs e outras instituições da sociedade civil, a emancipação da mulher em diferentes áreas continua aquém das expectativas e dos investimentos empreendidos por estes. Amiudadas vezes os discursos que sustentam tais estudos acabam atribuindo aos preceitos e às práticas culturais “nativas” a responsabilidade pelo insucesso do governo e seus parceiros no combate à desigualdade de gênero, afirmando que tais preceitos e práticas nativas, reproduzem velhas estruturas de poder patriarcal. Esta pesquisa, sobre os ritos de iniciação feminina na região matrilinear do Norte de Moçambique, problematiza e torna complexa a visão que reduz as relações de gênero à dominação masculina. Através de processos endógenos de corporificação da memória e saberes comunitários por parte de mulheres nos ritos de iniciação feminina, a pesquisa mostra como essas mulheres estruturam o seu cosmo circundante, definem papéis sociais, constroem noções sobre corpo e sexualidade, colocando-se, através de saberes e experiências disseminadas nos ritos de iniciação, numa posição onde se afirmam como sujeitos sócio-históricos nas suas comunidades. / In Mozambique, discussions on gender equity and participation of women in public space have occupied an increasingly prominent place in society. Motivated by democracy (recent reality) and the agreements ratified by the government of the country, men and women from different parts of society develop studies of various kinds, showing that, despite an effort by the government and its partners, multilateral development agencies, NGOs and other institutions of civil society, the emancipation of women in different areas remains below expectations and investments undertaken by them. Too often, the discourses that underpin such studies end up by assigning the precepts and the “native “cultural practices, alleging that such precepts and native practices reproduced old power patriarchal structures. This research on female initiation rites in the matrilineal region of northern Mozambique problematizes the view that reduces gender relations to male denomination, also aiming at looking at in a complex manner. Through endogenous processes of embodiment of community memory and knowledge from the woman side in" female initiation rites”, this research shows how this women structure their surrounding cosmos, define social role, and build notions about their bodies and sexuality, putting themselves, through knowledge and experiences spread in initiation rites, in a position where they stand up for their rights of being as social-historical subjects (individuals) in their communities.

Die institutionelle Form der Erwerbsarbeit befindet sich in einem ständigen Wandel. Sichtbarer Ausdruck dessen ist die in allen Industrienationen gesteigerte Formenvielfalt der Erwerbsarbeit. Seit den achtziger Jahren wird dabei in der Bundesrepublik eine Erosion des Normalarbeitsverhältnisses, ein Ende beruflicher Kontinuität und das Schwinden der Beruflichkeit als ökonomisches und soziales Ordnungsprinzip konstatiert. Anknüpfend an diese Diskussion wird gezeigt werden, welche Beschäftigungsmuster west- und ostdeutsche Unternehmen heute präferieren. Im Folgenden werden nach einer kurzen Einführung in die Fragestellung, in Arbeitsmarkttheorien und den Untersuchungsaufbau die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung in drei Schritten vorgestellt. In einem ersten Schritt wird die betriebliche Übergangspolitik anhand von betrieblichen Ein- und Ausstiegen untersucht. Nachfolgend wird der betriebliche Altersaufbau als Resultat betrieblicher Übergangspolitik dargestellt. Abschließend werden zwei Typen betrieblicher Übergangspolitiken vorgestellt und in ihren Folgewirkungen analysiert.

Title: Excercise regimen in active seniors Aim: This thesis sets out to find out wheher the active elderly people follow guidance of general recommnedations for the excercise regimen designed for them. I'm trying to find out whether the frequency of excercise changes through positive biosocial variables. Secondary goals of the research are monitoring the activity preferences and the level of health condition of the elderly. The last secondary goal of the research is measuring the condition of their muscular apparatus with the help of a hand grip (hand squeezing test), that reflects to a great degree the physical ability of a person. Methods: In this thesis specialist publications were researched, content analysis of a survey was perfomed and a comparison of found results has been carried out. Results: The results for fulfilling the recommended excercise regimen by the active elderly population have been confirmed. The effect of some positive biosocial variables has been confirmed, albeit not all of them. We found out what excercise activities are preferred by our elderly and the test for their muscular strenght was performed to find that the elderly people, visiting fitness centers regularly are stronger than the rest of elderly population. Um aspecto importante no estudo de nivel individual de pesquisadores é a sua senioridade e a sua inatividade. A senioridade, tambem entendida como idade acadêmica é definida pelo tempo, em anos, de atuação acadêmica. Já a inatividade acadêmica está relacionada com a diminuição gradual de atuação acadêmica. Existem estudos que comumente consideram para a estimação da senioridade o período de tempo desde o primeiro ano da primeira produção do pesquisador. A inatividade é comumente estimada como o periodo de tempo desde a ultima produção acadêmica. Ambas as métricas podem ser utilizadas para a comparação de pesquisadores em períodod de tempo semelhantes, sobre as perspectivas de produções bibliográficas (periódicos, livros e capitulos de livros) e de orientações acadêmicas concluidas (mestrado, doutorado e pos-doutorado). As abordagens anteriormente consideradas não permitem caracterizar de forma apropriada os pesquisadores, pois baseiam-se em informações que representam a primeira e a última produção, não levando em conta a forma e a frequência de produção nem a ausência de informações (falta de registros no currículo). Neste trabalho criamos um método para analisar as informações curriculares de pesquisadores com o objetivo de mensurar de forma quantitativa a evolução da senioridade e a evolução da inatividade. Essas informações podem ser explorada a fim de determinar a senioridade academica efetiva e a categoria de inatividade acadêmica. A relevância do trabalho recai na caracterizaçõa da atuação de pesquisadores na produção acadêmica e nas orientaçõess de teses e dissertações. Para esta dissertação consideramos como estudos de casos os conjuntos de pesquisadores associados às àreas de Pesquisa Operacional e os Bolsistas de Produtividade em Pesquisa. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que além destas medidas estarem bem correlacionadas com o n'vel de bolsa dos pesquisadores, há uma leve tendência de que quanto maior a senioridade, maior é a categoria de inatividade. / In the academic field, there are diferent researchers that are influential in science. Two important aspects in researchers individual studies are the seniority and the inactivity measures. The seniority, i.e. the academic age, is the quantity of years of scholarly production, and the academic inactivity is related to the gradual decrease of scholarly production. Some studies commonly consider the period of time from the year of the rst scholarly production in order to estimate the seniority. In contrast, the inactivity is commonly estimated as the period of time from the last academic production. Both metrics can be used to compare researchers in similar periods and in dierent aspects, such as bibliographic production (journals, books and book chapters) and academic advising (master's, doctoral and post-doctoral). In this work, we have created a method to analyze the curricular information of researchers in order to measure the evolution of seniority and the evolution of inactivity. This information can be employed to determine the eective academic is focused on the characterization of the researchers' performance in scholarly production. For this project, we observed dierent case study sets of researchers associated with Operational Research and Productivity Research Fellows. The results show that those measures are correlated to the scholarship level of the researchers.

Impact of a Decision Support System on Obstetricians in the Pregnancy Nutrition Guidance

Background: Pregnancy Nutrition (PN) guidance is an issue of great concern worldwide because of its direct relevance to the maternal healthcare and the healthy prenatal development (Li et al., 2004, p. 11). Providing an effective guidance on PN is an onerous and time-consuming task. Extensive experience, knowledge, and continuous and actual calculations are required for the obstetricians. Consequently, the PN guidance is often faced with difficulties and hurdles. It is, however, dramatically changed with the emergence of a Decision Support System (DSS) for PN guidance based on the computer information management technique. This DSS has been applied for the clinic guidance of PN in obstetrics departments or hospitals in China. Its impacts on obstetricians are investigated in this thesis. Objectives: This thesis investigates the consequences and intrinsic correlations of relevant factors during the application of the DSS, so that its effects on obstetricians can be clearly identified and the usefulness of this system for pregnancy nutrition guidance can be effectively established. It also lays a foundation for an effective communication between system developers and the end users of this system. At the meantime, this work proposes the concepts and methods that allow proper utility of such an information management system. Methods: A number of research methods have been applied for data acquisitions and analyses, including direct observations of the obstetrics department in the hospital in study, conversational interviews with the participating obstetricians, and distance communications. These approaches enable us to prepare the resources to construct the model based on these case studies. As a parallel approach, quantitative methods based on questionnaires have been conducted which reach out a large number of obstetricians in different locations. This allows a statistical analysis that permits the impact analysis and correlation of the intrinsic factors, so that the conclusions of this study can be consolidated. Results: Positive impacts will be measured by five factors including convenience, acceptability, generality, concreteness, and effectiveness, while negative impacts by three factors including verbosity, rigidity, and expensiveness. Conclusions: The DSS has successfully enhanced the application of correct PN guidance. Both positive and negative impacts have been generated on obstetricians by the DSS. These impacts are mainly related to the seniority of obstetricians and their familiarity with the PN guidance and the DSS. The development, utilization, and operation management of the DSS in PN guidance has generated impacts and functions. This study might provide resources and foundation of the systematic management of the DSS together with its development. The DSS and the related Chief Information Officers and Specialists will benefit from this study and therefore provide improved support and assistance for the end users to complete information system management successfully. / PN DSS configuration of Obstetrician Department in Tianjin First Central Hospital, Tianjin, China

The major purpose is to preserve the heritage conventionally transmitted by orality. Entering in the webs of hierarchies of the shrines, attempts to verify powerful relations and how the "older" integrate these communities. Considering that old age is a legitimate social category and based on an interdisciplinary approach, seeking to know how the cultural construction of this category in Candomblé is given - a religion based on principles of seniority and ancestry, which values the experience and knowledge of "older". The main question is: what aging means in Candomblé? To answer, we check how people represent old age inside the shrines, as well as the way to build and experience the category of "older". This paper tries to approach the old age under an optical interpretation, pointing to a distinct form of aging for a specific group with unique characteristics. In Candomblé, old age is always an ideal to be achieved, is a source of authority and shows the power that covers the top levels of its hierarchy. By studying the importance of "older" in Candomblé, this work shows that the African worldview is preserved in the shrines, revealing the specificities of a people and its culture / Este estudo sobre a velhice e o envelhecimento nos terreiros de Candomblé é uma tentativa de compartilhar vivências e buscar conhecimentos. O maior propósito é preservar um patrimônio convencionalmente transmitido pela oralidade. Ao penetrar nas teias das hierarquias dos terreiros, procura verificar as relações de poder e a maneira como os mais velhos se integram nessas comunidades. Considerando que a velhice é uma categoria social legítima e com base em uma abordagem interdisciplinar, busca saber de que modo se dá a construção cultural dessa categoria no Candomblé uma religião calcada nos princípios de senioridade e ancestralidade, que valoriza a experiência e o conhecimento dos mais velhos . A pergunta-chave é: o que significa envelhecer no Candomblé? Para responder, verificamos como as pessoas representam a velhice no interior dos terreiros, bem como a forma de construir e vivenciar a categoria dos mais velhos .
