En metodik i utveckling : En studie om fiolmetodik i folkmusikundervisning / A methodology in development : A study in the methodology of fiddle teaching in traditional music education

Bömer-Schulte, Solveig January 2021 (has links)
The main goal of this study is to examine the methodology in the teaching of fiddle, used by teachers in traditional music. The study examines the approaches to the tradition of learning music by ear which is central to the teaching of traditional music, how education has affected music and which methods teachers use in their tuition. The background literature sets traditional music and teaching traditional music in a historical perspective. Previous research studies address concepts such as methodology, institutionalization, learning music by ear and silent knowledge. Material for the study is collected through semi-structured interviews. The interviews were transcribed and then analyzed thematically. The result presents the teachers' methodical way of thinking about genre-specific exercises. These have either been designed by themselves, based on tunes or based on existing material that has been adapted to the genre. Furthermore, thoughts emerge about silent knowledge in a learning by ear-tradition and how this is seen in relation to education. A traditional music methodology that is about to be shaped and developed, due to traditional music taking place in the educational environment, is discussed by the respondents. The discussion addresses how new tools for learning develop when the music is put in new contexts and which tools teachers think are important for the learning of fiddle and traditional music.

”Ser du mig?” : En vetenskaplig essä om tysta och blyga barn i förskolan som inte uppmärksammas / “Do you see me?” : A scientific essay about silent and shy children in preschools that do not receive attention

Rooyani, Camilla January 2020 (has links)
This essay is a scientific essay that centers around a story based on a self-experienced dilemma about a shy and silent child who does not communicate with the pedagogues at the preschool nor the majority of the other children. The child chooses to only communicate through her best friend and is then able to use both body- and verbal language, and it is only through this friend that others learn what the child wants.   The purpose of the essay is to examine how preschools satisfy the needs of silent and shy children, by studying my own actions in the described story. The questions at issue which are studied in this essay include how I as a future preschool teacher can support the silent and withdrawn children. Which tools and strategies pedagogues can use to uplift them. How I as a pedagogue can include these children and make them participate in the preschool’s activities. As well as how pedagogues relate to the need of interaction among silent children. These questions are answered through the writing of the essay where my practical knowledge, which constitutes of 17 years of working as a caretaker of children, and theoretical perspectives such as the theory of connection and a sociocultural perspective are applied. An interview with a certified speech therapist has also been conducted. The conclusions that can be made are that there are several possible tools and strategies that can be used to include and facilitate for the silent and shy children in the preschool, for example picture-support, smaller groups of children or that you as an pedagogue participate yourself and give the child roles within the plays that it is able to manage. Furthermore, an important lesson is that the theoretical perspectives constitute a crucial support for pedagogues in their approach towards shy children, that it is important to do a mapping of the shy children in terms of what causes the difficulties and when they arise, and also to always proceed from the individual child’s needs so that every child at the preschool gets the best possibilities for education.

Tau-Equivalences and Refinement for Petri Nets Based Design

Tarasyuk, Igor V. 27 November 2012 (has links)
The paper is devoted to the investigation of behavioral equivalences of concurrent systems modeled by Petri nets with silent transitions. Basic τ-equivalences and back-forth τ-bisimulation equivalences known from the literature are supplemented by new ones, giving rise to complete set of equivalence notions in interleaving / true concurrency and linear / branching time semantcis. Their interrelations are examined for the general class of nets as well as for their subclasses of nets without siltent transitions and sequential nets (nets without concurrent transitions). In addition, the preservation of all the equivalence notions by refinements (allowing one to consider the systems to be modeled on a lower abstraction levels) is investigated.

The inclusive classroom talk : A systematic literature study on how to include introverted pupils in literature talk

Degiorgi, Cecilia, Jonsson Rathjen, Mikaela January 2022 (has links)

The use of silent substitution in measuring isolated cone- & rod- human electroretinograms. An electrophysiological study of human rod- and cone- photoreceptor activity derived using silent substitution paradigm

Kommanapalli, Deepika January 2019 (has links)
After over a decade of its discovery, the Electroretinogram (ERG) still remains the objective tool that is conventionally used in assessment of retinal function in health and disease. Although there is ongoing research in developing ERG- recording techniques, interpretation and clinical applications, there is still a limited understanding on how each photoreceptor class contribute to the ERG waveform and their role and/or susceptibilities in various retinal diseases still remains unclear. Another limitation with currently used conventional testing protocols in a clinical setting is the requirement of an adaptation period which is time-consuming. Furthermore, the ERG responses derived in this manner are recorded under different stimulus conditions, thus, making comparison of these signals difficult. To address these issues and develop a new testing method, we employed silent substitution paradigm in obtaining cone- and rod- isolating ERGs using sine- and square- wave temporal profiles. The ERGs achieved in this manner were shown to be photoreceptor-selective. Furthermore, these responses did not only provide the functional index of photoreceptors but their contributions to their successive postreceptoral pathways. We believe that the substitution stimuli used in this thesis could be a valuable tool in functional assessment of individual photoreceptor classes in normal and pathological conditions. Furthermore, we speculate that this method of cone/rod activity isolation could possibly be used in developing faster and efficient photoreceptor-selective testing protocols without the need of adaptation. / Bradford School of Optometry and Vision Sciences

Monfared, Leila 09 1900 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the study of distortions of communications between the vulnerable children served by the Imam Ali Society and its staff. These communications were studied by looking at three dimensions of the experiences of those children, namely, the psychosocial dimension (paths and stories of the children placed in foster homes), the community dimension (family and close social groups) and the social one. It was carried out by employing Habermas's theory of communicative action (1987) while taking into account the ethico-political structure of the Iranian society. For this purpose, we also introduced concepts of vulnerability and violence in order to objectify communication distortions in the case of vulnerable children. The problem was approached as an ethical conundrum in the children and staff interactions regarding the following questions: in which direction is the communications between the children and the staff in the Imam Ali Society Shelter taking place? Are they more in the direction of constraint or rather in the direction of cooperation? The methodology of this research is part of a logico-pragmatic approach based on argumentation. It is based on certain theoretical contributions of natural logic (Grize, 1996) and the discourse ethics theory (Habermas, 1987-2013). According to our results, there is a zone of violence and increased vulnerability, source of which is mostly routed in Islam. This research also leads us to identify a zone of vulnerability, where the vulnerable are exposed to both visible and silent violence from social structures, making their condition more and more vulnerable and precarious. In addition, the children's lives are colonized by a communication directed towards a "non-dialogue" in the social space rather than one dedicated to their protection. The study indicates that communications established in the shelter of the Imam Ali Society are based on Islamic ethics, leading thereby to paths representing processes of religious recognition and socialization. This research identified the existence of a strong religious constraint i.e., silent violence. For this reason, these spheres of life do not fulfill the preconditions for realization of a Habermassian ethical discourse theory. Our work demonstrates a cycle of silent violence embedded in the Iran's social structures, disrupting communication in the context of vulnerable children. The consequence is the emergence of deformation processes that lead to communication distortions. This research paved the way for a new line of research on communication distortions revealing new pathogenic aspects of a constraint exerted by a politico-administrative power.

Modular Vehicle Design Concept

Rue, Timothy James 23 January 2015 (has links)
Outlined herein is the Modular Vehicle [MODV] concept as a cost effective, utilitarian, and highly functional vehicle concept for the changing demands placed on a MAGTF [Marine Air-Ground Task Force] or SP-MAGTF [Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force] in the 21st century. A large focus is put on the importance of modularity and cost effectiveness of having a 24 hour configurable vehicle to a specific mission and area of operation. Off-road vehicle progression through history is presented and successful design features are noted in order to develop underlying goals for the modular vehicle. The thesis emphasizes recent technology advancements that can shift the foundations of vehicle design including wheel hub motors, high capacity batteries, solid oxide fuel cells, autonomy, structural health monitoring, energy harvesting shock absorbers, non-pneumatic tires, and drive-by-wire options. Predictions on the outlook for the technology progressions is discussed to give insight into the viability of basing a vehicle concept on these technologies. Finally, physical design bounds are presented to provide a foundation for the future design of such a vehicle. / Master of Science
