Dancing Theology - A Construction of a Pneumatology of The Body

Kissell, Kristin 01 April 2020 (has links) (PDF)
Dance is the language of the soul. Dance, as a theological source, can remind us of who we are in and with the living perichoresis of the Trinity. Dance, as embodied art, can provide us with a new way of viewing and discussing pneumatology and that we too, in our incarnate reality, participate in perichoresis. Within this work I seek to answer the questions of how dance is a source of theology, why a pneumatology of the body is significant, and how dance provides a framework for a pneumatology of the body. The creation of a pneumatology of the body is a rooting or re-membering of the Spirit and our own spirit in incarnational—skin and bones—reality that includes us in Trinitarian perichoresis. Pneumatology of the body is dancing with the Holy Spirit in our given time and space to retrieve the dignity of our embodied inspirited selves as made in the imago Dei. The gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit are not abstract concepts. Through dance as embodied art we can move from abstract, intellectual concepts of the Spirit to incarnational truth of our flesh and blood, wounds and joys, where the Trinity dwells within and around.Dance as a source of theology can provide a framework for a pneumtology of the body. The Holy Spirit as relationality holding all of life together is our Holy Bridge. Within this work, we re-member our foundational belief in the interconnectedness of body and soul, and that we too participate in the Trinitarian perichoresis as part of God’s dancing revelation. In a world of division and duality, the Spirit as Holy Bridge brings us back home to the core of who we are individually and collectively, while dance provides a space for honoring difference and duality together in harmony. Dance gives expression to situations and things in our lives that are challenging to grasp conceptually and intellectually, while allowing for the embodied witnessing of a person’s and community’s story.A dancing theology as a framework for a pneumatology of the body reminds us that Spirit is our Holy Bridge between body, senses, feelings, challenges, and transformations, between my body soul temple and your body soul temple, and between individual and communal. By dancing with us in our daily lives, the Holy Spirit draws us ever deeper across loving bridges into communion with Trinitarian perichoresis. The Trinity is the Dance of Life in which the Spirit performs the role of empowering the never-ending communion and relational vitality that is God in and with Godself.

Reflection

Patel, Dhara Yogendra 13 June 2012 (has links)
"Reflection" is an experiment with what I call"symbolic architecture" i.e. design where the features of the building have a profound meaning or a strong recall to some familiar aspect in our lives. It is a meditation center designed to rejuvenate visitors by providing an ideal environment to practice and teach meditation. The design is inspired by concepts of Hindu philosophy and each element of the building, the light, the materials, the water and the structure is likened to an element of the spiritual being that helps a meditator achieve a connection between the body and the soul. / Master of Architecture

Spirit at work and its impact on employee outcomes in Australian higher education

Chabokrow, M., Muenjohn, Nuttawuth, Montague, A. 14 October 2024 (has links)
Yes / This study adopted a mixed methods approach, with the quantitative element forming the core component and the qualitative dimension assuming the supplementary component to assess Job Satisfaction (JS)and Organisational Commitment (OC) as mediators in the relationship between Spirit at Work (SAW) and Organisational Citizenship Behaviour(OCB) within the Australian higher education sector. It is expected that by 2025, job satisfaction and burnout will cause large numbers of academic staff to leave Australian universities. Regression and structural equation modelling analysed the study’s quantitative data. NVivo was used to analyse qualitative data. The findings illustrate that SAW significantly affects OCB, JS and OC. Most notably, the results indicate no significant differences between the permanent and casual staff’s level of SAW and none between their JS, OC and OCB levels. This finding contradicts previous research. The overall findings in this article further highlight necessary changes to Australian universities’ current management and leadership approaches to create more satisfied and committed employees.

[en] DILTHEY AND FREUD: PSYCHOANALYSIS FACINGTHE EPISTEMOLOGY OF SPIRIT-SCIENCES. / [pt] DILTHEY E FREUD: A PSICANÁLISE FRENTE À EPISTEMOLOGIA DAS CIÊNCIAS DO ESPÍRITO

SERGIO FELIPE DE LIMA LAGE 29 October 2003 (has links)
[en] In what sense may we regard psychoanalysis as a science? This is the question which leads this dissertation. Although its known that Freud, during all his works, has conceived psychoanalysis as a science, epistemological meaning of psychoanalysis remained controversial during last centurys philosophical debate on sciences. This debate has been generally oriented by differenciation between human sciences and nature sciences, which origins are to be sought in the second half of nineteenth century. Confronting positivisms theory of sciences and the new epistemology proposed by Wilhelm Dilthey in his Introduction on spirit sciences, this dissertation aims to demonstrate that Freuds notion of science approaches in some main aspects the epistemology of spirit sciences brought out by Dilthey.

Xiu, Kun 06 September 2023 (has links)
[EN] The present study focuses on addressing those aspects of "beauty" that are underestimated in the classical view and which are either unrecognised or underappreciated in their plenitude in international perspectives. In this analysis, we propose an alternative vision to the current canons called "intangible beauty" to distinguish it from the rational and visible sense of beauty. For this purpose we have examined a number of cultural concepts and aesthetic approaches related to the expression of abstract spirit and time in the East Asian cultures of China and Japan, as well as finding similar expressions in Western perspectives. In the process of documentary observation we further deepened our understanding of some aesthetic concepts such as: the Yijing, emptiness, Wabi-sabi, Y¿gen, Mono no aware, ruins and nostalgia. On the other hand, we have studied the proper nature of photographic images and their particular expressions associated with this aesthetic connotation. The knowledge of time, space and beauty conveyed by these artistic expressions are characteristic aspects of different cultures that bring us closer to each other's aesthetic approaches. This work examines the practical manifestation of these notions through a case study of photographic images by Eastern and Western artists: Lang Jingshan, Yang Yongliang, Masao Yamamoto, Wolfgang Tillmans, Albarrán Cabrera and Sally Mann. With all this, we have managed to unveil and contemplate such beauty related to the expression of the abstract spirit and the time to which the aim of the study is directed. Furthermore, during this research, an artistic experimentation project has been carried out to verify the revelation and perception of intangible beauty through photographic images. / Xiu, K. (2023). "We Bring Love" Les discours sur l'autochtonéité au sein du mouvement Healing Our Spirit Worldwide

Renaud, Marie-Pierre 12 November 2024 (has links)
This research examines Healing Our Spirit Worldwide (HOSW), an international indigenous healing movement. HOSW gatherings, which take place every few years, each time in a different country, are spaces in which the resilience of indigenous peoples is celebrated; these events contribute to the emergence of a feeling of community and solidarity between the participants. A brief description of the movement, relating to its history, mandate and structure, is completed by the example of the sixth gathering which took place in September 2010 in Honolulu, Hawai’i. This event illustrates more clearly the nature of the movement and provides relevant context to the analysis of the discourses of speakers of this gathering on the themes of healing and indigeneity which are at the heart of this research. This research highlights the relational dimension of healing and indigeneity as they are described within the HOSW movement.

Kerklike leierskap vanuit 'n Pinksterperspektief

Atterbury, Vincent Edward 30 November 2002 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / In this dissertation, different aspects of aChurch leadership" are examined from a Pentecostal perspective. The framework is composed of literature compiled over the past twenty years. Especially the relationship between Church Leadership and the working of the Holy Spirit comes under the searchlight. The Theological theory underlying the Church Leadership exponents as well that of the Pentecostal movement are developed and critically evaluated. The Pentecostal ideal is that church leadership will function as leadership within a church context under the guidance and "working of the Holy Spirit The Pentecostal movement emphasises that the working of the Holy Spirit is the criticalfactor determining the effectiveness of the church. In the literature en Church leadership, the main focus is placed on the key role of church leadership with specific reference to the functional aspects and skills that church leaders need to be effective. The implication of both the aforementioned points are discussed and compared as well as the possible implications for both are indicated. Systematic theological issues concerning the role of persons in specific offices in different church traditions are avoided. It is stated that in the literature on Church Leadership more emphasis should be placed in the Working of the Holy Spirit as the critical factor in church leadership. It is clear that there is not enough emphasis on the working of the Holy Spirit if taken into account the importance thereof for the church as a whole. An approach to church leadership as "spiritual leadership" could assist in future research on this matter. In chapter one the framework of this study is explained. Chapter two reflects on the development of the Pentecostal perspective and chapter three on the Church leadership perspective. The different topics, similarities, critical reflections, evaluations and recommendations are presented in the last chapter. / Practical Theology / D.Th. (Practical Theology)

The role of the local church in the extension of the Kingdom of God

Botsis, Dorian 31 May 2005 (has links)
The Kingdom of God is wherever the Triune God is worshipped as Lord. It exists beyond time and place, but breaks into our time and place wherever creation worships the Triune God as Lord. The local church, in its present time and geographical place, is the microcosm of the Kingdom of God. As such, the local church contains within it all the resources necessary for the Kingdom of God to be established. Therefore, the local church is called to lead creation to worship the Triune God as Lord. It does this by fulfilling three specific works as specified in Scripture: the work of evangelism; the work of discipleship and the work of reconciliation. The modern day church must start a revolution to discover afresh these works and become what Scripture describes as the ecclesia of the hodos: the local church extending the Kingdom of God. / Systematic Theology & Theological Ethics / M.Th.
