Le temps des objets : mémoire collective, entourages matériels et imaginaires littéraires : essai de phénoménologie sociale / El tiempo de los objetos : memoria colectiva, entornos materiales e imaginarios literarios : ensayo de fenomenología social / The time of objects : collective memory, material sourroundings and literary imaginary : an essay of social phenomenology

Cuartas, Pablo 25 November 2016 (has links)
Matter and memory are two research programs that Human Sciences usually undertaken in a separately way. On the one hand the empirical observation on material presence of the objects; on the other hand the speculative thought on the immaterial experience of the memory. However, sociology of memory allows and requires to assume on this subject a conjunctive outlook: to consider the memory as a social practice included in the nearby material environments. Following this conjunctive principle, the review of some memory practices has allowed us to identify the continuous presence of material objects as if the  "natural" and "artificial" ways of memory were indissociable from the material status of the object. An object-based relationship with memory and a memorial relationship with objects then appears as a constant from which we try to present some historical variations: in Rome, at times of the Republic and during the Early Empire, different experiences as the cult of the dead and the art of rhetoric, incessantly implies object and memory; at Renaissance the proliferation of studioli, cabinets de curiosités and Wunderkammern can only confirm the enshrining of a great fascination in the spaces of power and knowledge for the objects from the past ; in 19th century, apparently ruled by the industrial production, the fetishism for ancient objects renews once again the interest that objects vested of memory arouses. For this reason the equally persistent presence of the objects of memory in literature: in each of those historical moments we aware that a considerable literary production attempts to describe the importance of things that evoke an experience of past. The works of some Latin poets, the Goethe's reflections on collectionism, the ideas of Rilke on the subject of "lived objects", and Proust's own Search, are literary variations on the same topic : the time of things, the time contained in things.

Sillanpää, Linda, Skogsberg, Sofia January 2008 (has links)
This is a qualitative, empirical study based on interviews with six educationists working at Reggio Emilia inspired pre schools. The Reggio Emilia philosophy originates from northern Italy, where it developed after the Second World War. It was introduced in Sweden in the early 1980’s. The opinion within Reggio Emilia is that all children are rich and competent, and you constantly work on evaluation and development of the practice by help of pedagogical documentation, for example. The aim of the study is to examine if the educationists at two Reggio Emilia inspired pre schools are of the opinion that their approach has changed, compared to how they earlier exercised their profession in pre school. In the literary part of the study we describe the origin of the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the development of the Swedish pre school, and also when and how Reggio Emilia was introduced in Sweden. Furthermore we describe the fundamental ideas we have found to be the core of the Reggio Emilia philosophy. The result of the study shows that the educationists have changed their approach in five areas. They are of the opinion that they have changed their view of children and the way they work with documentation. They strive to involve children and parents more in the pre school activities, and also to make their pre school more involved in the community. The educationists have also changed the surroundings at the pre school to give the children the possibility to be more independent, and they are now working with age divided groups of children. In the discussion we reflect upon the importance for educationists being able to motivate to parents what their practice is based on, and also being able to explain the meaning of a Reggio Emilia inspired approach.

When real life is error : En kvalitativ studie om hur omgivningen påverkar utvecklingen av datorspelsberoende / När det verkliga livet känns fel : En kvalitativ studie om hur omgivningen påverkar utvecklingen av datorspelsberoende

Rittwage, Andreas, Pettersson, Daniel January 2011 (has links)

: En essä om bildskapande på förskolan / Can I play with the cars soon? : An essay about preschool artwork.

Castro de Lacerda, Aline January 2015 (has links)
This essay begins with an account of three real-life situations that I have experienced as a teacher in a preschool. I describe different scenarios that have highlighted the challenges and problems I face in my work with children who do not actively seek to engage in producing artwork, and who easily become bored or distracted when they do participate. The aim of this essay has been to investigate artwork and children’s lacking desire or interest to participate in such creative activities. The key questions used for my investigation centred on the role of artwork in a preschool environment, and how I, as a teacher, can engage with children who do not wish to participate in such activities. I also evaluate the impact of surroundings on children’s artwork, as well as their opportunity to influence the creative activities. I write in essay form to reflect and identify new perspectives in relation to existing theories. In addition, I use a hermeneutic approach for a more detailed investigation using my own interpretations and perceptions. Lev Vygotsky’s theory about the zone of proximal development helps me to deepen my understanding of how teaching takes place in social contexts during these creative processes. I am also inspired by his views on imagination and creativity. This reflective study has helped me to deepen my understanding of why artwork is important in child development, and how surroundings can both inspire and hinder children’s creative processes. I have come to realise the importance of allowing children to influence their daily schedule, and giving them the opportunity to decide which activities are available at their preschool. Moreover, I have found that my way of engaging with children who are not interested in producing artwork can affect how they relate to the activities. Teachers who inspire their pupils and actively engage in such activities can have a decisive impact on children’s relationships to imagery as an aesthetic form of expression.

Connecting Semantic 3D Models to the LOD Cloud for Mobile Applications : discovering the Surroundings with ARCAMA- 3D / Lier des modèles 3D sémantiques au Web des données pour la découverte des environs au moyen d'applications mobiles : l'architecture ARCAMA-3D

Aydin, Betül 25 September 2015 (has links)
Discovering the surroundings while walking using a mobile device is now possible by coupling new technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and location-based services. Many mobile applications have been designed for that purpose recently. The surroundings of the user are presented on the screen of her mobile device using the location data and she can interact with her environment through a digital information layer superimposed on the captured scene. However, since the amount of geo-referenced information increases every day, there is a growing need for a generic approach that aims at presenting information in a structured manner and adapted to different application domains and users profiles. Our work focuses on the definition of a data model for 3D objects to be used in mobile AR applications. The data model we propose prioritizes access to available spatiotemporal and thematic information about real-world objects. While Augmented Reality appears to be well-suited for searching location-based information, most of the AR approaches focus on domain specific scenarios and we observe that there is no generic data model dedicated to information search and discovery that could be re-used in various AR applications. On the other hand, Linked Open Data (LOD) cloud is an ever-growing set of structured and interlinked datasets published on the Web. It contains vast amounts of spatiotemporal information that can be exploited by location-based mobile applications and presented using AR for fostering interaction. In our research, the LOD cloud serves as a basis for information retrieval during the AR experience of the user. For this purpose, we first publish 3D objects that correspond to real-world objects (buildings, monuments, etc.) on the Web by using our data model and interlink them with data sources on the LOD cloud. Then, using our data model, any real-world object can be represented by three informational dimensions: themes (describing the roles or functions of this object), space (through its 3D geometry), and time (the period linked to its existence). Each change in the life of a real-world object is represented in the model by semantic information following the LOD publishing principles. This allows a binding between the content of our data model and the LOD cloud. As a consequence, on her mobile device, the user visualizes an AR view built with light and transparent 3D models. She can interact with these AR objects in order to access to information related to the corresponding real-world objects of her surroundings she is pointing at. These AR objects allow the user to mentally construct the referential relationships between virtual and real-world objects, while the mobile application developer can create experiences based on different concepts found on the cloud (thematic and temporal concepts, etc.). This way, the LOD cloud, as a growing and updated structured source of semantic data, becomes the main source of information and facilitates knowledge discovery in AR applications.Using this conceptualized knowledge base, we propose our architecture, called ARCAMA-3D (Augmented Reality for Context Aware Mobile Applications with 3D), whose modules allow application designers and developers to create their own AR applications for different domains by being able to extend the data model, bind 3D models with other data sources on the LOD cloud, cover a selected part of LOD and feed their application only with these specific data sources. We develop our ideas working on the case study of the Royal Monastery of Brou, in France, and implement a use case scenario for a user visiting the monastery.

Radiačně indukovaná nádorová onemocnění u obyvatel obcí v okolí MAPE Mydlovary / Radiation-induced cancer in the population of villages around MAPE Mydlovary

KREJČÍ, Klára January 2014 (has links)
In 1959, the building of chemical preparation plant of uranium ore MAPE Mydlovary was initiated in a small village Mydlovary, near České Budějovice. In October 1962, the operation and processing of the uranium ore started. During operation, about 17 million tons of uranium ore were processed and the material from processed uranium ores was stored into the contiguous sludge lagoons. The operation of this plant was terminated in November 1991. The premises of MAPE Mydlovary were partially liquidated, decontaminated and handed over for privatization, nowadays there are recovery and reclamation works in process. Even though, MAPE Mydlovary is nowadays one of the most dangerous strains for environment, which emerged after mining and processing of uranium ores in the Czech Republic. The projection is to liquidate the consequences of this process for many more years from now. In immediate closeness to the premises of MAPE Mydlovary there lie the villages Mydlovary, Olešník and Zahájí. It can be assumed that during the processing of uranium ores and subsequent storing of waste into the contiguous sludge lagoons there could have been some impact on the inhabitants of these villages by radio nuclides. The possibility that there are still some sources of contamination and effect on the inhabitants of the three neighboring villages cannot be excluded nowadays, even after almost 23 years after the shutdown of the plant. For this reason this diploma thesis is dealing with the effects of the preparation plant MAPE Mydlovary on the inhabitants of Mydlovary, Olešník and Zahájí, specifically on the amount of deaths due to cancer diseases of inhabitants of these villages. Data was collected from October 2013 till April 2014 and it includes figures from the period 1971-2010. It was collected using non-standardized interviews and was provided by practicing physicians of the investigated villages; furthermore, data was collected from websites of the Czech Statistical Office. Aim of this thesis was to analyze and compare the deaths due to cancer diseases of the inhabitants in the surroundings of MAPE Mydlovary and of inhabitants in the whole Czech Republic (whole republic´s cancer disease mortality) and evaluate the possible influence of the radiation load on the number of deaths due to cancer diseases of inhabitants in the surroundings of MAPE Mydlovary. The analysis and comparison of the number of deaths was carried out using statistical research. Non parametric testing was used for the statistical research and the so called Fisher exact test was used, which is carried out by means of statistical software www.ncss.com. For this test the level of significance - = 0, 2 was used. The influence of the radiation load on the number of deaths due to cancer diseases is statistically significant only in the village Mydlovary, where it is possible to prove statistically an increased number of deaths due to cancer diseases in comparison to the number of deaths due to cancer diseases in the whole Czech Republic. Based on the evaluation of the obtained data we can state that the chemical preparation plant of uranium ore MAPE Mydlovary most likely had and still may have a negative impact on the inhabitants of the neighboring villages, especially on the inhabitants of the village Mydlovary. For this reason it is very important to continue with the recovery and reclamation works in the premises of the chemical preparation plant of uranium ore MAPE Mydlovary and their main objective is to protect the inhabitants of surrounding villages against possible exposure to the radio nuclides. Nevertheless, the impacts of processing the former chemical preparation plant of uranium ore MAPE Mydlovary will be eliminated for many more years.

The development of new technologies capable of assessing natural lighting can assist in project directed to the use of energy efficient lighting in architecture. Grounded in the literature review related to these new technologies, this study aimed to analyze the potential use of natural light in the classrooms of municipal schools in the city of João Pessoa. The sample represents a number of schools constructed under the standard design adopted in recent managements of the City of João Pessoa, and still in use. The methodology consisted in situ measurements and computer simulations did using the software Daysim. The results showed that there is great potential for use of daylighting, however, there is a need to implement actions to control glare. The existence of 10 schools constructed under the same project in different sites, allowed us to analyze the degree of influence surrounding the availability of natural light into the classrooms.
