O que as psicoses ordinárias ensinam? / What ordinary psychoses teach?Angelica Cantarella Tironi 26 September 2012 (has links)
Ordinary Psychosis is part of a research program in the Freudian Field to reconsider Lacanian ideas, specially the theoretical concepts of his last teaching. It is supported by clinical case observations, when there is not a classical and evident triggering, as it happens with extraordinary psychotic cases. On the contrary, symptomatology is discreet and demands from the analyst double attention regarding to a structural reference of classical psychosis. We start from the investigation of psychotic structural clinic, from Lacanian first teaching, to evaluate if the Name-of-the-Father persists as a unique reference for the differential diagnosis or if it can be replaced by the sinthome, according to the modifications Lacan introduces when he proposes plural names of the father, as well as the concepts of lalangue and speaking being more coherent to a fluid and Borromean clinical evaluation. Such category of ordinary psychosis reconsiders, in a different way, the significant foreclosure in terms of the jouissance object and also clarifies the pluralization of master significants which stand for the subject outside the discourse established by the Name-of-the-Father. Next, we studied two Lacanian aphorisms. The former, Everyone is mad, that is, delirious invites to a clinical approach coordinated by a generalization of foreclosure in which something disoriented is inscribed. The latter, the aphorism the sexual relation does not exist causes impasse for all subjects. Both require from the speaking being an answer facing what is impossible of being said and the construction of a singular way out which cannot be positively apprehended as anything else but a delusion. Nevertheless, if Lacanian oriented psychoanalysis institutes that all discourses are defences to the real and all constructions of reality are delirious, it is necessary for everyone to invent their know how to do with the real.

Analytic and numerical aspects of isospectral flowsKaur, Amandeep January 2018 (has links)
In this thesis we address the analytic and numerical aspects of isospectral flows. Such flows occur in mathematical physics and numerical linear algebra. Their main structural feature is to retain the eigenvalues in the solution space. We explore the solution of Isospectral flows and their stochastic counterpart using explicit generalisation of Magnus expansion. \par In the first part of the thesis we expand the solution of Bloch--Iserles equations, the matrix ordinary differential system of the form $ X'=[N,X^{2}],\ \ t\geq0, \ \ X(0)=X_0\in \textrm{Sym}(n),\ N\in \mathfrak{so}(n), $ where $\textrm{Sym}(n)$ denotes the space of real $n\times n$ symmetric matrices and $\mathfrak{so}(n)$ denotes the Lie algebra of real $n\times n$ skew-symmetric matrices. This system is endowed with Poisson structure and is integrable. Various important properties of the flow are discussed. The flow is solved using explicit Magnus expansion and the terms of expansion are represented as binary rooted trees deducing an explicit formalism to construct the trees recursively. Unlike classical numerical methods, e.g.\ Runge--Kutta and multistep methods, Magnus expansion respects the isospectrality of the system, and the shorthand of binary rooted trees reduces the computational cost of the exponentially growing terms. The desired structure of the solution (also with large time steps) has been displayed. \par Having seen the promising results in the first part of the thesis, the technique has been extended to the generalised double bracket flow $ X^{'}=[[N,X]+M,X], \ \ t\geq0, \ \ X(0)=X_0\in \textrm{Sym}(n),$ where $N\in \textrm{diag}(n)$ and $M\in \mathfrak{so}(n)$, which is also a form of an Isospectral flow. In the second part of the thesis we define the generalised double bracket flow and discuss its dynamics. It is noted that $N=0$ reduces it to an integrable flow, while for $M=0$ it results in a gradient flow. We analyse the flow for various non-zero values of $N$ and $M$ by assigning different weights and observe Hopf bifurcation in the system. The discretisation is done using Magnus series and the expansion terms have been portrayed using binary rooted trees. Although this matrix system appears more complex and leads to the tri-colour leaves; it has been possible to formulate the explicit recursive rule. The desired structure of the solution is obtained that leaves the eigenvalues invariant in the solution space.

Dispositifs filmiques et paysage urbain : la transformation ordinaire des lieux à travers le film / Film apparatus and urban landscape : the ordinary transformation of places through filmBrayer, Laure 06 October 2014 (has links)
Starting from a consideration of the landscape, as it is configured daily by individual and collective practices which are supported by the landscape and from which the landscape is being shaped, this PhD thesis in architecture focuses on the ordinary transformation of places and questions the ways through which we can understand it in order to think out the becoming of these places. How can we take into account the dynamic of the ambiance in order to think about the design of a place? In that perspective, this research questions the scope of film (as a medium, as a practice and in its reception): what does filming allow us to understand of the ordinary transformation of places? This work investigates the potential of audiovisual images in terms of perception, representation and shared designing of urban public spaces. How can film facilitate the understanding of the states and transitions of the relationship between space and bodies – considering that bodies perceive and act at the same time? In order to study that question, a specific methodological protocol, open to heterogeneous uses of film for the understanding and the designing of cities, was worked out. It led us to the analysis of four frameworks: 1. Collecting and selecting existing films; 2. Observing a video project within the context of an urban study; 3. Filmmaking; 4. Experimenting film practice with architecture students. These four frameworks address the question of filmmaking in different ways: status and stakes of the use of film, involvement in fieldwork through film practice (involvement in space, in time and in relation with others), film postures and relations to the world. Secondly, our research raises the question of film reception. It is, then, from a collective experience of reception that film becomes the base of a dialogue between people who are invited to share and debate about their own experiences. The plurality of registers coming from the film reception and its discussion (what is sensible, perceptive, interpretive, critical and creative) becomes the base to work out a common design. From these considerations of the scope of film, it appears in the background that the sensible register and collective improvisations are of paramount importance in the understanding and designing of urban public spaces.

Integral equations in the sense of Kurzweil integral and applications / Equações integrais no sentido da integral de Kurzweil e aplicaçõesRafael dos Santos Marques 25 July 2016 (has links)
Being part of a research group on functional differential equations (FDEs, for short), due to my formation in non-absolute integration theory and because certain kinds of FDEs can be expressed as integral equations, I was motivated to investigate the latter. The purpose of this work, therefore, is to develop the theory of integral equations, when the integrals involved are in the sense of Kurzweil- Henstock or Kurzweil-Henstock-Stieltjes, through the correspondence between solutions of integral equations and solutions of generalized ordinary differential equations (we write generalized ODEs, for short). In order to be able to obtain results for integral equations, we propose extensions of both the Kurzweil integral and the generalized ODEs (found in [36]). We develop the fundamental properties of this new generalized ODE, such as existence and uniqueness of solutions results, and we propose stability concepts for the solutions of our new class of equations. We, then, apply these results to a class of nonlinear Volterra integral equations of the second kind. Finally, we consider a model of population growth (found in [4]) that can be expressed as an integral equation that belongs to this class of nonlinear Volterra integral equations.

Previous issue date: 2012-04-24 / Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais / This study aims to map and analyze the actions and behavior of the Brazilian government and National Congress fighting illegal practices from International acts and domestic legal provisions on the subject. To do so, considering the subject area here classified as "illicit" and the period between 06/10/1988 and 31/12/2010, we take as empirical material, on the one hand, the International acts negotiated by the Executive and approved by the Brazilian National Congress with emphasis on the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances; United Nations Convention Against Corruption and United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime, known respectively as the Vienna, Merida and Palermo Conventions. On the other hand, we take the ordinary laws in the country, with emphasis on the Law nº 9.613 of 1998, Law nº 9.034 of 1995 and Law nº 10.763 of 2003, known respectively as the Law on Money Laundering, Law on Organized Crime and Law on Corruption. We start from the assumption that systemic international activities, and more specifically the International Regimes, were the main factors behind this government action in combating such practices. We conclude that, in most cases, the relationship between the Powers happens in the form of cooperation and that, contrary to common knowledge that attributes the Legislature with lack of interest and delay in certain subjects, the Representatives and Senators are more active than one might initially assume.

Previous issue date: 2009-03-16 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The goal of this work is to map religious healing and myth-magic practices, pointing them at the present time on Ilha de Santa Catarina. The text runs around the hypothesis that they reveal world views which, like in the second half of 20th century, remains in the memories of many inhabitants of the Island in 19th century. The evaluated corpus is constituted, basically, of written texts and ads featured in local newspapers, such as in almanacs, pamphlets, and printed and handwritten prayers, photographs, pictures from the period corresponding to the second half of 20th century and to the beginning years of 19th century. The argument presented in this essay tries showing that, in that period s Ilha de Santa Catarina , there is an written texts production which is intended to be read from and to a specific amount of the population as an attempt to civilize the body-healing practices through reading / O objetivo deste trabalho é mapear práticas de curas religiosas e mito-mágicas, localizando-as no tempo presente na Ilha de Santa Catarina.
