Applikation = Motivation?

Andersson, Sandra January 2017 (has links)
Application equals motivation? This essay considers the subject of reading motivation in a media technological context. The aim is to provide insight into whether the mobile application Läs upp can, or cannot, be used to motivate children in grades two to five to read. For this purpose, a longitudinal study was performed in which six children used the application for three weeks. Empirical data was gathered through qualitative interviews with the children, and their respective parent, on two occasions; after one and three weeks of use. To explore the children's initial approach towards reading, an initial baseline survey was conducted. The result shows, in summary; that different aspects of motivation are different in strength in different individuals. Therefore, Läs upp has different effects on (and mixed opportunity to effect) the individual child. The application's approach implies external aspects, it can however also promote intrinsic reading motivation. The application may potentially strengthen or undermine the child's self-perceived ability, which may affect their reading motivation. The narrow title selection limits children's possibility to choose reading materials, which can have a negative effect on their perceived autonomy and reading motivation.

SAMBAND MELLAN SELF-EFFICACY FÖR ATT TA SIG UPP FRÅN GOLVET OCH FALLRÄDSLA : En kvantitativ studie med personer över 65 år

Reed, Anna, Nygren, Johanna January 2024 (has links)

Based on the literature on Social Management, we attempted to identify the different components that guide their discussion. Added to this were discussed throughout the theoretical framework issues that favor the understanding of the context in which the Territory of Peace Program is inserted, such as slums, public security and pacification project project underway in Rio de Janeiro city. Given the speech adopted by Territories of Peace Program, chose to analyze it from some evaluation categories of deliberative participatory processes, namely: Discussion Threads, Inclusion, Pluralism and the Common Good. Data were collected in the first instance, by literature research. Then, interviews were conducted with social managers responsible for conducting the studied program on different territories. In short, the results point to the existence of spaces for discussion, however without decisionmaking powers. In a few moments, the characteristics of what was termed a Social Program Management approach the characteristics of Strategic Management, whose conceptual and instrumental framework relies on mechanisms of decision making based on hierarchy and technical knowledge.

The purpose of this dissertation is to demonstrate that the Pacifying Police Units (UPPs), while public safety policy adopted in the state of Rio de Janeiro, reinforce the penal state model. This requires present a study on the meaning to present a study about the significance of the Police Pacification Units (UPP) from the perspective of Public Safety and based on the elements elements of the Public Administration. This is to ascertain the intrinsic relationships in these units, from the development to the consolidation in the area of public safety process of policies. In this sense, there will be an effort to identify whether the Police Pacification Units represent a change in the security policy or it is just a make up of these policies per se. Also, it seeks to examine, in a broad theoretical perspective, if the neoliberal model in Brazil incorporates the elements of a Penal State, considering the formulation process and implementation of UPPs in the Rio de Janeiro favelas, in the period of 2008-2013, which is the key to understand this phenomenon. It is also important to say that I have considered Maré favela as one of the elements that supported this analysis. Once these are characterized by proposed elements that synthesize theoretical model, by Loïc Wacquant (2002), the process of expanded sanctions, which contributes greatly to the consolidation of the penal state, start from the assumption that the analysis model proposed by this author, if applied to the proposed case and saved the peculiarities of each historical and political context, allow you to identify a Criminal State that, by the speech of "social insecurity", that applies a policy focus on controlling and rebuke the poor. The most predominant factor of this framework is the militaristic encircle in the favelas and the growing process of incarceration in its broadest sense. The UPPs become a policy that strengthens the penal state in order to contain the dissatisfied or "excluded" process, formed by a significant number of poor, who have been placed in the ghettos

The policy of pacification works as a governmental technology by means of a balanced modulation of two programs: UPP and Rio+Social. In the current society of control, the modular programs of pacification conform to the neo-liberal logic that combines both social programs and police action, reinforcing the subjectivation. This means that pacifying the favela includes: military occupiers acting as a police force; a heavy police presence referred to as "proximity"; negotiation between police and drug traffic police; and each individual participating as a community police. In the aftermath, the favela was perceived as a safe place to grant social investments that work through endless partnerships known as private-public. In the name of social responsibility, Non Governmental Organizations, Institutes, Foundations, Universities, Companies and International Organizations, clustered in projects and programs around the management of misery. The favela evinces the pride of the existence's misery from itself and through its governmentalization. At the same time the political renewal of police also introduced participation practices of the so called civil society. This has amplified police conduct as an ordinary one by producing subjectivation into every single person who loves the favela, and who is happy and proud that the poor people have their place / Este trabalho analisa a segurança e a participação nas favelas por meio da política de pacificação, implantada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro desde 2008, que funciona enquanto tecnologia de governo que opera por meio da modulação combinada de dois programas: a UPP e a Rio+Social.

Viinikka, Claudia, Svanberg, Pamela January 2018 (has links)
Digitizaliation charactarizes todays society and a new paragdim is a fact. There are considerable changes within the financial market where innovative FinTech-startups more and more take over the industry. This, due to that the traditional institutions cannot meet the costumers demands. The FinTech-startups are essential for the society and drives the innovation forward in order to fulfill the costumers requirements. However, these start-ups face difficulties with scaling-up which makes it hard for them to survive on the market. Financial funds and regulations are the main challanges they need to overcome. The purpose with this thesis is to examine how FinTech-startups work in order to scale-up their business and how they face challenges as financing and regulation. Theories used in this thesis are: FinTechs ecosystem, Startups life cycle and Technological innovation. A qualitative method is used with semistructured interviews with people from six different FinTech-startups based in Stockholm. The result of the studie shows that the FinTech-startups possibility to scale up mostly depends on financial funds. The companies experience challenges in finding investors and are placed in a vicious circle. In addition, conditions required have a major impact on the abilities to scale-up their business.

Svensson, Kalle, Gannby, Erik January 2021 (has links)
Background: To perform general warm-up prior to athletics is widely recognized and has adocumented effect on performance. Lower extremity injuries are commonly occurring forsoccer, handball, volleyball, and floorball players. Injury prevention exercises decreases therisk for musculoskeletal injuries, supposing good compliance exists. Whether injurypreventive exercises may increase performance is to this day unclear. Aim: The aim of the study was to compare performance measured in vertical jump height ofathletes after injury preventive exercises and general warm-up. Methods: Experimental study with a cross-sectional design. 17 active soccer, handball, volleyball, and floorball players between 20-32 years were recruited through conveniencesampling. Data was collected occurred by measurement of maximal vertical height done bycountermovement jump (CMJ) on an electronic contact mat. Results: No statistically significant differences regarding vertical jump height wereidentified when comparing injury preventive exercises and general warm-up. Conclusion: The result from the study suggests that male soccer and handball players maybenefit from performing injury prevention exercises instead of general warm-up prior tomaximal vertical jumps due to the decreased risk for injury while the effects of general warmup still emerges. Further research within the subject is necessary to investigate whetherinjury prevention exercises may replace general warm-up prior to more complexperformances such as sports. Further research on others than male handball and soccerplayers should be conducted.

Comparing Automated Testing Approaches for FPS Games

Nilsson, Felix, Nilsson, Jesper January 2021 (has links)
Background. One important part of creating quality games is to make sure thegames work as intended. It is done by testing the game, often by playtesters that play the game repeatedly to identify problems. It is a time-consuming task, and some of the testing can be automated. Objectives. This thesis explores two different automated testing approaches. The approaches selected are Record and Replay, and Script-Based Testing. The testing approaches are evaluated on a commercial FPS game. Methods. The scientific method used in this thesis was an experiment to collect data on the two testing approaches. The testing approaches were implemented and then tested on the game. The data collected was the time to create a test case andthe execution time of the test. Results. Creating tests with the Script-Based approach was significantly slower compared to Record and Replay. There was no significant difference in execution time between Record and Replay and Script-Based Testing, but the Script-Based approach is slightly faster in most tests. Conclusions. Record and Replay and Script-Based Testing have different strengths and weaknesses. Record and Replay is fast at creating tests but is not adaptable to changes in the 3D world. Script-Based Testing is slow at creating tests but is adaptable, and therefore less maintenance is required. / Bakgrund.
