BIBLIOTERAPIN OCH PROFESSIONEN : Biblioterapins roll som professionsstärkande bibliotekariekompetens

Wåhlin, Joanna January 2020 (has links)

Att bo utanför tiden : Ett stadshotell i Mariefred / Living outside of time : A hotel in Mariefred

Sjögren, Molly January 2015 (has links)
Mariefred is a town where time has stood still, but where seasonal changes are major between the summer and winter. To create a building that hosts long term activities and is used throughout the year, and not only during the busiest tourist season, the building also includes an additional set of spaces for a library and community halls for the citizens of Mariefred, as well as the hotel and related restaurant.  The concept for the interior spaces was created the inspiration from the town's most prominent building, Gripsholm Castle. The plan of the hotel derived from the investigation of the castles's multiple entrances and intricate movement patterns, that are partially intertwined, creating fluctuating relationships between the residents and in relation to the building itself, making every persons experience vary from the others. The separate hotel rooms are designed to stage a shift between a sense of overview and that of separated fragments, between contact with the outside world and total secludedness. Several smaller houses dwells within a larger one, gathering around a courtyard, to which all the activities - the hotel rooms, the restaurant, the library, the staff spaces - relates. The building creates a wall around the courtyard, a porous wall that gives way and gives room to the different activities inhibiting it. The feeling of transgressing a number of layers and filters as the visitor passes through the building makes the notion of this wall more palpable, as the visitor sometimes can discern the internal life and exterior shape of the building and other times is embraced by It's inner world.

Larsson, Johanna January 2022 (has links)

: En studie om användarens uppfattningar om regnbågshyllan / ”Then I EXIST” : A study about the user's perception of the rainbow shelf

Håkansdotter, Emmy January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to provide increased knowledge about the phenomenon of "rainbowshelf" and how the user group LGBT+ experiences it. The purpose has been answered with the help of the questions: How does the target group LGBTQ+ experience the rainbow shelf? And how can their experiences be understood from queer theory? The empirical material has been collected through a websurvey that addressed the user group LGBT+. It has spread with the help of the snowball method on social media and resulted in 124 answers that were then analysed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The theoretical framework used in this thesis is queer theory. The result shows that most respondents are positive to a rainbow shelf, although most respondents have never used a rainbow shelf themselves. Among those who have used a rainbow shelf, they find that they are made visible through it and feel more included in the library. It also appears that among those who are negative to the rainbow shelf, the main reason for this is the feeling that “we and them” is reinforced and that it feels very indicatory to go to a special shelf to find their books.

Biblioterapi i tidningsartiklar : En diskursanalys / Bibliotherapy in newspaper articles : A discourse analysis

Johansson, Petronella January 2021 (has links)
Mental health issues and depression is an everprevalent issue in our society today. Library science has taken a step towards creating a safe medium and addressing the issue by bibliotherapy, or therapy through reading. Though it is an establish method in other countries, bibliotherapy is not a common practise in Sweden and it is through recent years that reports about bibliotherapeutic projects has started appearing. The question that rises then is: how is bibliotherapy being written about by journalists and in the end, how is bibliotherapy, libraries and reading presented to the general public? This research aims to investigate in what way bibliotherapy is portrayed in newspaper articles, relationship between bibliotherapy and the library itself as well as what role reading has in the discourse about bibliotherapy in newspaper articles. To do this, a discourse method based on Laclau´s and Mouffes’s (Bergström & Boréus, 2012, Svensson 2019) linguistic approach to discourse analysis, will be utilized through the analysis of 18 newspaper articles. The result of this study shows a mostly positive view on bibliotherapy as a method and that reading is a key element in its utilization. Yet libraries’ roles in the bibliotherapeutic work is not as apparent and might affect readers’ views on the libraries’ involvement in societies work to prevent mental health issues.

Läsning i bibliotekets gränsland : En kvalitativ innehållsanalys av nykterhetsrörelsens och biblioterapins syn på läsning i relation tillbiblioteksinstitutionen / Reading in the borderlands of the library : A qualitative content analysis of the reading perceptions of the sobriety movement and bibliotherapy in relation to the library institution

Hillberg, Kim January 2021 (has links)
The traditional library is in a state of crisis since its legitimacy was threatened by the declining status of the welfare state and the printed book medium. The study aims to regain a sense of the lost identity by comparing the institution's perceptions of reading with those of the sobriety movement of the early 20th century and the bibliotherapy representatives of today. Qualitative content analysis is used as a method to categorize and understand the reading perceptions of the reader communities mentioned above. The categories used are of a deductive character and distinguish whether the perception of reading is based on a conception of it as something characterized by the experience of the act or its instrumentality, as well as in reflective relation with the reader's self or not. The studied material is the membership newspaper of IOGT and a contemporary bibliotherapy blog. The results reached by the study point to other types of instrumentality used to legitimize reading by the reader communities, in contrast to the economic instrumentality which has gained influence in the library sphere. The social instrumentality of the bibliotherapy movement, characterized by social relations and integration, is uncovered in the materials. The role of the librarian supporting the reader's own knowledge acquirement is a feature that connects the contemporary librarian identity to bibliotherapy. The former now gains a language to express itself, something that has been missing since the identity crisis.

Frandsen, Jennifer, Andersson, Sandra January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this study has been to fill a gap of knowledge when it comes to understanding librarians and their relationship to the phenomenon of videogames, at the library. We have conducted interviews with focus on how the library’s role has changed when new media is introduced and if librarians consider videogames something that can be used at the library and why. For the basis of the study we have utilized Scott Nicholson’s theory and model regarding what role videogames has in the library, published in 2010. Nicholson’s theory is relevant for the study as it touches several aspects that were interesting for our study; the library’s democracy and videogames, the librarian’s profession and videogame’s role at the library. For the study we conducted four semi-structured interviews on four different libraries with librarians who worked with videogames at their library. The focus of these interviews were gaming activities, opinions on videogames and who plays videogames. Thoughts from the librarians interviewed concerned the role of the libraries and democracy but noted was also a general opinion that technical knowledge was something lacking among librarians, whilst at the same time the users and interest for videogames are steadily increasing.

Tonårspojkars val av litteratur i det lustfyllda läsandet : hur går de till väga och vad som motiverar dem – hur de ser på bibliotekens roll för deras litteraturval / Teenage boys´ choice of literature to pleasurable reading : how they go about and what motivates - how they view the role of libraries in their choice of literature

Ernsth, Anna-Lena, Kristiansson, Anette January 2019 (has links)
Youths is described by the libraries as a group that is hard to reach because they are in between the children´s and the adult section. It creates an insecurity amongst librarians as they lack knowledge of what the youths are interested in reading. The purpose of this thesis is to study teenage boys to get an understanding for what affects their choices of literature. This has led to research questions dealing with what factors that affects them. The reading of teenage boys has been researched for many years and the discussion has been about whether their reading has decreased or increased. To examine what affects their choices of literature, semi structured interviews was held with four read motivated teenage boys between 17 -19 years old. The interviews has been held at two upper secondary schools in western Sweden. In the qualitative content analysis of the empirical material, Aidan Chambers model the reading circle been used. The result has been compared with previous research on how youths choose literature. The teenage boys in this study primarily use the Web for literature tips, but they also get literature tips from friends. The empirics showed that teenage boys preferred different media format when they read. The factors that affected their choices was knowledge, entertainment, escapism and experiences. The teenage boys felt that the library didn’t always have the literature that they were asking for.

An activity in the landscape of psychological and political devastation : A critical discourse analysis of bibliotherapy in daily and monthly press

Forslund, Anton, Gutafsson-Ahlzén, Johanna January 2020 (has links)
The concept of bibliotherapy is subject to different views of its meaning and potential place in the library. Through a critical discourse analytical approach, this thesis examines bibliotherapy in relation to a Swedish library context by analyzing Swedish articles from daily and monthly press, and relating the discourses identified in them to Zygmunt Bauman’s theory of late modernity. Using bibliotherapy and library as key concepts to analyze, seven different discourses are identified, the first four related to the concept of bibliotherapy and the three latter related to the norms, beliefs, and values of libraries: a curative discourse, a universal discourse, a discourse based on reading as a way of looking inward, one based on reading as a way of recognition, traditional library discourse, bibliotherapeutic library discourse, and crisis discourse. These discourses are related to each other as well as to the social structures of late modern society, and the role of bibliotherapy as a whole is examined in this context. Bibliotherapy emerges as a tendency in late modern society, interacting with aspects of it consisting of undermining of the welfare society, the construction of identity, and seeking of community and safety.
