Racionalidade e Projeto PolÃtico-PedagÃgico: um olhar a partir do CurrÃculo e do relato das PrÃticas Docentes de professores do Curso de CiÃncias ContÃbeis da Universidade Federal do Cearà / Rationality and Political Pedagogical Project: a view from the Curriculum and the report of the faculty members practices in the Undergraduate Accounting Program of the Federal University of CearÃ-UFC

Ruth Carvalho de Santana Pinho 03 December 2010 (has links)
The effective model in the university academic units shows that something needs to be changed in higher education. However, since it is not perceived that the problem is in the proper rationality itself, the way of surpass has been to reiterate old practices, increasing class time and disciplines and also moving some units requirements. Understanding the pedagogical rationality as established element of the educative action, it became relevant to investigate how it integrates the political pedagogical project, the curriculum and the faculty members practices in the Undergraduate Accounting Program of the Federal University of CearÃ-UFC. The understanding of the multiple realities lived within University and the reflection concerning the process of the related Course management and the faculty job, will be able consequently to contribute for the improvement of the process teach-learning and also the professional formation of the egresses. Thus, the main purpose of this work is to analyze the aspects of the faculty pedagogical rationality of the Undergraduate Accounting Program of UFC that propitiate to the Political-Pedagogical Project through the Curriculum and the Faculty Practices and establish the educative action based on principles of a reflexive and changing understanding. Based on the nature of the elements to be analyzed and also on the function of the research problem it was opted to the modality of collaborative research, using research techniques such as focal group interviews and reflexive sessions. A documental research with a descriptive analysis of the Political Pedagogical Project was also done before, followed by the application of questionnaires in order to raise the faculty profile. It was concluded that a reflexive and transforming educative action will be propitiated by the Political Pedagogical Project through the Curriculum and the Faculty practices since the identified pedagogical rationality even based on technique nature, reach an epistemological platform establishing a faculty job supported by knowledge resultant of the pedagogical praxis.

The work starts from the assumption that the Good Practice Booklet of the School Principal has contributed with a management more pedagogical and with better educational outcomes. Under this assumption was chosen a group of schools in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte to be analyzed. Schools, the object of this study, were selected from the number of classes of 3rd year who have done PROALFA and that attend the educational levels from elementary to high school in order this isn’t a variable that can affect the results of the research. The research sought to identify what actions the school’s management team are based on the best practices suggested by the Good Practice Booklet of the Principal, if there is a similarity among the practices of different schools and how these have been reflected in educational outcomes. Was used as a research tool the questionnaire and the documentary analysis from PROALFA results between the years 2006-2012. The selected school’s management teams were analyzed in different dimensions identified by scholars as Heloisa Lück and Thelma Polon. The analysis of the survey data has shown that the actions suggested by the Good Practice Booklet are considered by the management team effective teaching practices, consisting of planning and contributing to the achievement of good results in external evaluations. It is, therefore, an instrument that subsidizes their pedagogical work, helping to think in actions that increase the proficiency of the schools. From the ascertainment of the positive impact of the Good Practice Booklet in educational outcomes, I present a study proposal of this instrument throughout the school community as a way to spread the teaching role of school management, further suggesting its complementation with proven successful practices developed by schools and a more detailed these good practices. This complementation aims a better ownership by schools managers, concrete actions, achieving greater convergence among the actions they implemented in the schools.

If you can teach there you can teach anywhere : A mixed methods study into immigrant teacher’s integration to the Swedish compulsory school curriculum

Luna, Fiona January 2021 (has links)
In recent times there has been an increase in global migration of workers in many sectors. The teaching profession has not been immune to this and there is a growing number of teachers moving to other countries to work. In this mixed methods study, I have investigated how teachers from overseas experience their transition to working in Sweden. I sought to find out what overseas teacher induction looked like in Sweden and whether this was done in a systematic way.    Previous research in Sweden has tended to treat teachers from overseas as a single, homogenous group. It has focused mainly on the experiences of those teachers who partake in formal teacher education programs in Swedish universities. However, during this study, it became apparent that there is a significantly large group of teachers from overseas who do not access such programs and have no access to any form of systematic introductory period. Yet under the current system this group can work in Swedish schools and in many cases obtain the Swedish teaching license.   A mixed methods approach allowed me to investigate this problem from different perspectives. Such an approach enabled me to investigate not only to what extent teachers new to Sweden had access to systematic introductory training but also how the teachers experienced their introductory period. Drawing on research concerning overseas teachers from other countries and interviews with overseas teachers in Sweden, I have identified that there is a need for these teachers to undergo a more formal induction period as well as some key areas of training that should be included in such a program.

An interview study with primary school teachers about how swimming education is conducted.

Sühl, Johanna January 2022 (has links)
The aim of this study has been to investigate how swimming-education is conducted in schools and if the PE-teachers feel that their knowledge about swimming is enough.Where and by whom is the swimming conducted? What role does the PE-teacher have during the swim practice? How does the teacher think their knowledge in swimming is compared to the criteria of swimming in the school? The method has been a qualitative interview-study, with teacher working in the years 4-6 in schools in Sweden. I made six semi-structured interviews that took between 15-25 minutes each to complete. The results showed that swimming is outsourced in all schools. Instead of being conducted by PE teachers it is conducted by staff working at the pools. One teacher was present at every swim practice and the other five teachers only joined at the swim-test. All teachers thought it was good that someone else took care of the swimming lessons, someone with knowledge and expertise. One teacher was worried about the planning of the lessons and that it felt like the teachers made it up as the lesson went. All planning was made by the staff at the pools, and by the end of year three in school they gave the PE-teacher a document that told them which students that could swim. That document decided if the children had to have extra-teaching in swimming or if they could wait and take the test in year six again. All PE-teachers said that they needed extra education in case they were to conduct the swim practise by themselves, and all teachers wanted more content knowledge in swimming. Five of the teachers said that they could go a course in swimming to increase their content knowledge. One problem noticed in earlier research and by our education minister (Ekström, 2021) is the time allocated for swimming. Time was noticed as a problem in the swim-practise in 1969 (LPO69b) and for me it is a mystery how nothing is happening. Another interesting finding is that when the swim-test is conducted the teachers look at different things. All teachers said that it was the 200 meter that was important and that is to be done to get a grade. Two teachers said that the technique in swimming did not matter, that if the students made it through the 200 meters it was enough. Two teachers said that they also could see other criteria in the curriculum and mentioned how the student’s movement was adjusted to different surroundings. With this study I want to give a picture of how swimming is conducted at six schools in Sweden. Some of the teachers I interviewed said that they had talked to other colleagues and that they were interested to be in this study as well. I did not have time to include more teachers, but if someone wants to extend research in this area there are a good possibility to get teachers to join since they are willing to help for my small, but important work.

Wahlberg, Johanna January 2022 (has links)

Understanding science teachers’ use and integration of ICT in a developing country context

Draper, Kim 03 February 2011 (has links)
Information and communication technology (ICT) has infiltrated society to the point of becoming essential to much of its everyday functioning. People rely on ICT to communicate, access information, and stay connected in an increasing globalised community. In many developed countries, ICT is now strongly featured in education for teaching and learning. In South Africa, as in other developing or partly developed countries, ICT use in education remains limited. This research was conducted to explore and understand how those South African science teachers who have access to ICT use it when they teach science. It was done to explain some of the reasons those teachers use ICT in the ways that they do, and to gain a better insight into the value that using ICT adds to both teaching and learning science. The research was designed as a mixed methods study, using both quantitative data collected from 267 Grade 8 science teachers in South Africa through the SITES 2006 teacher questionnaire, and qualitative data collected from three science teachers, all of whom taught science in a context of limited resources typical of a developing country. The data collected and analysed in this study showed that when science teachers have access to ICT for teaching and learning in classrooms typical of developing country contexts, they are able to use that ICT effectively to add value to teaching and learning. The greatest value is added when the teacher has a high technological pedagogical content knowledge. Secondly, at the level of the teacher, personal entrepreneurship is a key factor in a teacher’s ability to use ICT to add value to teaching and learning and to support the educational objectives based on 21st century learning objectives. Thirdly, teachers use the available ICT resources in a variety of ways but it seems that access to a personal computer, either laptop or desktop, in the classroom is a minimum requirement for ICT use in subject teaching. And lastly, the gap between ICT policy intentions as outlined in the South African e-Education White Paper (DoE, 2004b) and ICT practice remains large. There was no evidence from this study to suggest that the ICT policy intentions influenced practice at classroom level. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2010. / Education Management and Policy Studies / unrestricted

Lärares digitala källkritiska kompetens och dess konsekvenser för samhällskunskapsundervisningen : En studie om verksamma lärares beskrivningar av deras egen digitala källkritiska kompetens och arbete i undervisningen / Teachers´ digital literacy and its consequences for teaching : A study of in-service teachers’ description of their own digital literacy and how it is used in teaching

Modig, Wilma January 2023 (has links)

Ling, Joann, Vall Bermudez, Felicia January 2022 (has links)

Do we need to add anything? Do we need to remove anything? : Preschool teachers' thoughts on the relationship between materiality and agency as it is expressed when the physical indoor environment is designed, based on children's play

Nilsson, Fanny, Widjeback, Linnéa January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to take part in preschool teachers' thoughts on the relationship between materiality and agency as it’s expressed when they design the physical environment indoors based on children's play. The study is based on an onto-epistemological perspective and with a phenomenographic methodological approach. Six active preschool teachers were interviewed and the empirical evidence is what the study is based on. The results showed five themes that describe how preschool teachers design the indoor environment according to the children's interests and needs. These were The children's agency in play, The environment and materials' agency, The children's agency in the environment, The environment according to the children's interests and The children's best interests. Within these themes, we were able to distinguish different variations in the preschool teachers' stories. The conclusion refers to how preschool teachers' attitudes and views of children are closely linked to how they describe that they arrange and design their physical indoor environments. The study contributes with reflective questions and thoughts about how children are made visible as active agents in preschool teachers' descriptions of their indoor environments. It also contributes to the understanding of how materiality and agency are affected and affect each other.

Music- a golden grain in teaching? : -Some teachers' views on music as a pedagogical tool in special needs compulsory school

Wallin, Malin, Lindén, Charlotte January 2024 (has links)
Expected knowledge contribution Expected knowledge contribution of the study is to visualize educators' perceptions of how they use music as a pedagogical tool and how they describe that it affects students' communication development. The study is also expected to contribute with knowledge about the importance of using music as a multimodal means of communication in special needs primary school Aim and research questions The purpose of this study is to visualize some educators' perceptions of how music as a pedagogical tool is used to contribute to communication development among students in special needs elementary school with a focus on subject area. The aim is also to contribute with knowledge about the importance of using music as a multimodal means of communication in special needs primary school.   When and in what way is music used as a pedagogical tool in teaching? How is music described as a pedagogical tool in relation to pupils' communication development?   Theory The study is based on the sociocultural theory that culminates in the communicative relational perspective (KoRP). KoRP is about the collective and social processes with a focus on the individual and believes that in all human interaction, interaction and communication are central. Method The study has a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews. The empirical data was collected through 8 interviews with educators in 4 different adapted elementary schools that were transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis. The questions were about how these educators view music as a language development tool in special needs elementary school   Result The results show that the teachers in special needs elementary school to some extent use music as a pedagogical tool, preferably in combination with AAC and or  aesthetic expressions. The teachers feel that music is a tool that makes it easier for them to get in touch with the students and creates situations that promote engagement and participation, which in turn affects communication development positively. Special Education Implications There is a great lack of research in Sweden that deals with music as a pedagogical tool to contribute to the development of communication, for children who attend special needs elementary school with a subject area. The hope is that the positive view of music as a tool to support communication development, which can be seen in the results, can inspire some educator to use music more in their teaching.
