January 2006 (has links)
Abstract: This work seeks to analyze the new consumption spaces in the central area of Anápolis, in the state of Goiás starting from the informal trade, once there is an interaction among the several spaces produced in the urban way, so contributing, for an interpretation of the existent practices in the city. In this perspective, we discussed the use and appropriation of some streets in the center by the street-fakers and travelings besides the street-fakers place and a popular shoppings that for its time markets products that are acquired by the people that circulate in those spaces, being taken in consideration the consumption that creates and (re)creates a reality that shimmers the forms and functions of the and in the city as the show of the capital (re)production and as articulated elements to the process of (re)production of the urban space in medium load cities. We started of the idea that the main and traditional center redefine its uses, taking as base the location strategies of the said informal activities in this interior, reaffirming the centrality expressed in the context of the preexistents relationships, because the singularities of the functions involve an evaluation of the new commercialization ways of the tertiary sector. We accomplished an analysis developed by means of the rising and bibliographical revision, field research and data analysis for the understanding of Anápolis downtown dynamics starting from the informal trade performance. / Doutor

Percursos urbanos : novos olhares na arte contemporânea

Angeli, Juliana Correa Hermes January 2007 (has links)
This dissertation presents the analysis of eight art works by different contemporary artists who utilize urban routes as a constitutive part of their poietics and poetics. By studying spatial and temporal changes since the industrial period, as well as how urban spatial displacements and their present acquired meanings are structured, we seek to comprehend for what motives a poietic of urban routes should persist today. We have noted how contemporary artists have re-signified urban spaces and the people who interact with them by means of their displacements or the appropriation of other people’s daily routes, and, by using routes, they have developed new gazes in relation to these questions of contemporary art.

The Healthy City Project aims multidirectional joint efforts towards improving the quality of life in urban areas with a focus on public health. This dissertation considers health as a state of complete well-being, physical, mental and social, and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity. The present study contributes to the literature at least in three directions. First, Brazilian database provide an opportunity to exploit spatial heterogeneity, identifying spatial clusters in urban health indicator and Social Determinants of Health (SDH). Secondly, it is also possible to analyze changes in urban health conditions over time. Finally, the exercise proposed here also points out which of the social determinants of health are able to influence the urban health indicator. It is worth mentioned that the empirical approach adopted in this study is based on a Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA) jointed with quantile comparisons. In this sense, to be considered as a healthy urban space, a spatial unit must possess the indicator of urban health in the first quartile in two consecutive years, one of them being compulsorily 2010 (possible healthy urban spaces), moreover, must have at least four of the DSS in better condition than possible average healthy urban spaces. The results are: i) the increasing randomness of healthy urban spaces, face public policies in Brazil are increasingly imprint location, ii) of the 1224 analyzed 149 urban spaces can be classified as possibly healthy; these, 55 are considered healthy iii) healthy urban spaces are concentrated in the South and Southeast, iv) the states of Acre, Roraima, Rondônia, Tocantins and Mato Grosso have no candidate to healthy urban space, v) policies to improve the quality of living in urban areas must be integrated and targeted mainly for the urban spaces of the North, Northeast and Midwest to correct local disparities.

Espaces urbains, Espace public / Urban : its Spaces, its Public sphere

Cosmas, Yannis 06 March 2015 (has links)
The unity of an agglomeration constituted of its conurbation areas and specific period of times, is still being carried out by Politics. By addressing the inhabitants (dèmos), symbolic authorities of the power (cratos) outline a project capable of generating collectivepublic debate.Vénissieux, whose urban spaces have been transformed at the end of the 60s following the construction of a "mass housing aeras” wants to keep its municipal identity in the Links between Lyon intercommunality. The public debate, around the developments by ensuing (subway, tramway and peripheral equipments, found in the local press according to a sémiolinguistique method by keywords) is going to define the new vénissian public sphere within these Links between local authorities.Their dialogues will thus widen dèmos and cratos, changing their senses and that of a new public sphere.

Regeneración del Malecón Joaquín Abensur y Centro de Difusión de la Cultura Amazónica / Regeneration of the Joaquín Abensur Boardwalk and Center for the Diffusion of Amazonian Culture

Sanabria Bustamante, Jaime Daniel 19 November 2020 (has links)
The following work raises the need to improve and regenerate a public urban space in the city of Iquitos, such as the Joaquin Abensur boardwalk. This project is located in a strategic place in the center of Iquitos to improve the existing and emerging cultural activity. In addition, throughout the entire project, take advantage of guiding towards the landscape view of the itaya river. The project includes cultural activities to spread the Amazonian culture allowing the development of native art typical of the area. The research started from the recognition of the Joaquin Abensur boardwalk as an important space within the city of Iquitos that should be improved as part of an existing tourist circuit. Feeling the place, talking with users (locals), and visitors was an important starting point for his research, which increased his interest in expanding this space, gaining area towards the river and giving quality to the existing trade. The approach is based on respect for a clean vision of the river and the continuity of the urban circuit, giving fluidity to the pedestrian at the level of the boardwalk and proposing the activities to be developed at a lower level connected to the river. It clearly delimits the urban space integrated to the city and the urban space integrated to the river and it is here where the materiality of both spaces in the project changes. / Tesis

Anttila, Matilda January 2021 (has links)
There is a consensus in Sweden that public transport must be developed if goals for climate and attractive cities are to be achieved. The overall design of the traffic system is of great importance for long-term sustainable development. Travel centers are gaining an increasingly important role in large as well as small cities. Gällivare is undergoing the so-called Urban Transformation as a consequence of LKAB’s mining operations in Malmberget and there is a request from Gällivare municipality to develop Gällivare travel center as a part of making the city more attractive to residents and visitors. The purpose of the first part of the study was to investigate which functions and design factors are most important for a travel center to be perceived as useful and attractive by travelers and others passing through the center, and to investigate ow these functions and design factors could be adapted to a subarctic climate. Many solutions for the design of urban environments are mainly adapted to warmer and less varied climates than the subarctic. The second part of the study was to develop a concept for the travel center in Gällivare, where subarctic climatic conditions prevail. The concept is based on the results of the first part of the study and on analyzes performed in Gällivare. The study began with an extensive literature study that resulted in two templates for analysis, one for analysis of general functions and design in the travel enter and one for analysis of how climate factors affect the design. Subsequently, reference studies were performed, analyzed with the first template. Gällivare travel center was evaluated with both templates and a site analysis was performed at Gällivare. A synthesis was developed and used together with the site analysis to produce the concept. The synthesis showed that important factors could be categorized in the areas of light, spaciousness, structure, prioritization, city node and safety. During the dark part of the year, the lighting is the most prominent in the outdoor environments, especially when snow covers the ground. The lighting can then be used to make the outdoor environments more attractive. An improved spatiality in outdoor environments might create a better microclimate and thus create more attractive outdoor environments even during parts of the year with more demanding climatic conditions. The different parts of the travel center should relate to each other in a clear and logical way and space should be left for snow storage. There should be plenty of space for cyclists and it should be easy to move within the travel center. To ensure availability even during the winter season, ground heating can used on the most important lanes. The climatic conditions that are common in subarctic environments, such as the snow, can be highlighted in a way that makes them contribute to the identity and attractiveness of the place.

Plaza Mercado en la ciudad del Cusco / Market Square in the city of Cusco

Olarte Mescco, Mildred Gabriela 08 August 2020 (has links)
Over the years, modernization and great technological advances, architecture has shown changes, certain equipment has evolved and adapted to the user and time. In Peru many facilities were forgotten, one of these being the food markets. A market is the great pantry of a city, the most important commercial, cultural and social point, but currently the existing infrastructures are neglected. That is why this thesis project "Market Square in the city of Cusco" will propose to develop a solution proposal and the revaluation of a typology forgotten in time, whose focus is to revalue the food markets as a key meeting space for communication, tradition and culture in conjunction with an architecture according to the demands and needs of the user, creating new architectural spaces and permanent environments that provide new experiences. / Tesis

Centro Cultural en Magdalena del Mar / Cultural Center in Magdalena del Mar

Benites Vilela, Alessandra 30 April 2021 (has links)
The vertical and exponential growth of the city of Lima is undeniable. At the same time, the location and promotion of cultural centers and/or institutions, are coincidentally developed in districts with wide urban spaces that do not contemplate a boundless quantity of levels in its urban profile. Magdalena del Mar is a district that contemplates a vertical growth influenced by nearby districts. Nevertheless, its essence does not relapse in multifamily housing or office towers; but its distinguished for the interactions in the community, its history, art and culture. The district needs a lot of spaces where to develop the multiple activities designed for the community. Under the concept of flexible architecture, it is proposed to design a cultural center between streets with few liberties to the pedestrians. ¿Why? Because it is necessary to have this type of planning in a city that wager for the car and buildings of great height. That situation causes unattractive spaces for the pedestrian and the architecture gets lost with them. The developing of this cultural center pretends to demonstrate how positive a public infrastructure can be between projects of private investment. The center will not only have interior spaces of spatial quality; but it will be complemented with a vast public space that allows the production and promotion of daily outdoor activities in the district. This way, the community and artistic spirit that Magdalena del mar already has, is maintained. / Tesis

Industrigatan som offentligt rum - en gemensam historia

Waktel, Emelie, Zwahlen, Ida January 2014 (has links)
Norra Sorgenfri is an old industrial area located in the eastern parts of Malmö that are the subject for an extensive transformation process to become a part of the city center. The development should be done gradually and be operated by the City of Malmö in cooperation with the private property owners and stakeholders in the area. The City of Malmö has grand visions for Norra Sorgenfri and plans to develop Industrigatan, the “backbone” in the area, in an early stage to be an interesting and attractive linear space. By doing this the City of Malmö wish to inspire the rest of the development process. The challenge is to create an attractive street space, not a barrier, and furthermore to successfully complete the transformation together with the stakeholders. This study aims to identify important aspects and qualities that make attractive urban street spaces. Further, this study aims to give suggestions about how the Traffic Department in the City of Malmö can plan and create the conditions to make Industrigatan an attractive urban space to promote the continuing development of Norra Sorgenfri. After that, a sustainability analysis was conducted of the policy documents concerning the transformation of Industrigatan. The result shows that the physical design of the street is sustainable and has good potential to become an attractive streetscape. However, what can be developed is the methods for cooperation and participation and what types of arrangements, attractions and activities that will contribute to a rich street life. The study therefore suggests that the Traffic Department should work with methods like cultural planning, sensemaking and open-ended infrastructuring. As a part of this work the study leads to a project concept consisting of a series of workshops that should address the issue “how do we attract people to Industrigatan today?”.
