O estudo propõe um diálogo entre a Ciência da Informação e Filosofia da Linguagem para discutir as questões de informação pública sobre o ponto de vista epistemológico e aplicado. Para esta abordagem teórica, adota-se parte dos conceitos da segunda fase de pensamento de Ludwig Wittgenstein, a saber, ―jogos de linguagem‖, ―semelhança de família‖, ―formas de vida‖ e ―regras‖, encontrados, predominantemente na obra Investigações Filosóficas, como forma de contribuir para a compreensão do uso das noções ―informação pública‖, ―transparência pública‖ e ―desinformação‖. O estudo tem como procedimento metodológico a pesquisa descritiva, bibliográfica e documental, tendo por foco analítico as legislações internas pesquisadas nos sites dos Tribunais de Contas do Brasil, na busca da aplicação da Lei nº 12.527, de 18 de novembro de 2011 (Lei de Acesso à Informação – LAI). Tais legislações, que visam à promoção da transparência através dos serviços prestados, podem ser compreendidas nesta pesquisa a partir das semelhanças e dessemelhanças entre as Cortes de Contas estudadas. As noções wittgensteinianas possibilitam entender as dimensões histórico-institucionais a partir do modo como estas comunicam suas transformações, evidenciando que a pragmática da linguagem influencia na constituição das práticas sociais cotidianas. Assim, a análise da linguagem em sua inserção contextual passa a ser vista como uma ferramenta de compreensão da LAI e de sua aplicação. / The research highlights the importance of promoting transparency in the access to public information, with the focus of analysis the Audit Courts of Brazil. The study proposes a dialogue between the Information Science and Philosophy of Language to discuss the public information issues on the epistemological point of view and applied. For this theoretical approach, we adopt part of the concepts of the second phase of thought of Ludwig Wittgenstein, namely "language games", "family resemblances", "life forms" and "rules" found predominantly in work Philosophical Investigations, in order to contribute to the understanding of the use of the concepts "public information", "public transparency" and "disinformation". The study's methodological approach descriptive research, bibliographic and documentary, with the analytical focus the national legislation surveyed in the portals of the Audit Courts of Brazil, seeking the application of Law n. 12.527 of 18 November 2011 (Access Law to Information - LAI). Such legislation, aimed at promoting transparency through the services provided, can be understood here from the similarities and dissimilarities between the Accounts of Cortes studied. The notion of "language games" makes it possible to understand the historical and institutional dimensions, showing that the pragmatics of language influences the constitution of everyday social practices. Thus, the analysis of language in its contextual integration is seen as an understanding tool of LAI and its application.

This dissertation seeks to understand the conjunction of faculty roles as teachers and as researchers. This understanding is pursued through philosophical analysis. Discourse ethics, in particular, is used as a framework by which to best understand the roles played by faculty and if the roles of teacher and researcher are, in fact, commensurable. The purpose of the work is two-fold: 1) to develop a construct that may be used by future researchers to better understand the roles played by faculty, and 2) to suggest a best-construct that enables future researchers to propose how actual lived roles should be instantiated in the world. The dissertation reviews a series of university handbooks, professional association ethical guidelines, and philosophical arguments to establish how the roles of faculty are best understood. The investigation illuminates the tensions at the heart of faculty roles. This tension is not definitionally embedded in the roles of faculty as teacher and researcher. Rather, the tension emerges from the failure of institutions to fully actualize faculty roles as normatively grounded in human communicative interaction. As a result, the work suggests that in order to best resolve the cognitive dissonance that may be experienced as a result of role ambiguity, faculty should engage in a process of self-reflection and community dialectic in order to best determine how “faculty” can be actualized in a way that best benefits all stakeholders.

As artists continue the long and storied lineage of Landscape, are there aesthetic responsibilities that come with representing the forces that afford you the capacity to do so? As we delineate spaces into places, endless interconnectivity into knowable “systems”, and living matter into thing based taxonomies, who do these delineations serve and with what intentions do we proceed? My studio art practice explores what it means to give form to our Former—the Former being that from which we came, the here and now, our explicit ecological reality, the stuff of what we call nature. In this way, the Former consists of all the powers at play that unthinkingly formed the vital life-forces that afford us our perceptive and creative capacities, and in doing so, precede us chronologically. The primary questions my creative practice posits are therefore: what does it mean to give form to our Former through creative applications? In doing so, is it appropriate to assume that we are returning the favor?

Text in German, summaries in German and English / Diese Masterarbeit handelt von Transzendenzmomenten angesichts des Anderen und nimmt damit Bezug auf einen der einflussreichsten Philosophen der Gegenwart, Emmanuel Levinas. Philosophiegeschichtlich bildet der linguistic turn den Kontext dieses Diskurses. So wird der Wandel im Denken, der mit dem linguistic turn einhergeht, anhand verschiedener philosophischer und theologischer Essays reflektiert und auf das Problem der Gewalt im Prozess des Erkennens hin zugespitzt. In Diskussion mit den Schriften Dietrich Bonhoeffers leistet diese Arbeit hinfort einen Beitrag zum systematisch-theologischen Diskurs über Gottesoffenbarung in zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen und über Ethik. In Auseinandersetzung mit Levinas und Bonhoeffer baut diese Arbeit eine Brücke zwischen postmodernem, dekonstruktivistischem Denken und der fortwährenden theologischen Aufgabe, Gottes Sein mittels menschlicher Sprache Ausdruck zu verleihen. / This master thesis is about moments of transcendence in face of the other by means of one of the most important philosophers in our days, Emmanuel Levinas. The philosophically based historical context is represented by the term linguistic turn which marks a change of thinking within the 20th century. To outline this change the thesis brings several philosophical and theological essays up for discussion which leads to the problem of power in the process of recognition. Bringing up Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s writings, this research will make a contribution to the systematic-theological discourse about God revealing himself within relationships and about ethics. Furthermore it builds a bridge between postmodern anti-constructivist thinking and the continual theological task of using human language to explore God’s being. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M. The importance of philosophy and the philosophical is not on the lips of many library and information science practitioners and scholars, even though pervasive in information science theory and practice. This investigation focusses on the relationship between information science, philosophy and the philosophical thinking attitude revealed through theoretical and practical concerns. This includes theory generation arising from the philosophical in exploring the role of philosophy and the philosophical. It takes into account perceived problems in recognising, accepting and rejecting the role of philosophical approaches and the impact in determining the nature and the theoretical and practical aspects of information science. The problem posed by not recognising philosophical approaches, is that the benefits of philosophical thought cannot be drawn on to understand how knowledge, information and its communication manifest through language and language expression. Three pathways are used in order to reveal philosophy and the philosophical in information science, the connection between information retrieval and language, and philosophical thinking attitudes at theoretical and practical levels. The value of the study lies in contributing towards knowledge and awareness of the effect of philosophical theories on problems seen as central research areas in information science and its domains. The methodological approach gives preference to the comparative and pluralistic epistemology of a journey. The study examines Peter Ingwersen’s cognitive perspective and information retrieval interaction, David Blair’s treatment of information retrieval with natural language as primary concern, and Fanie de Beer’s contribution on the inventive act of reading and knowledge organisation, as representative figures. It is argued that information science cannot avoid philosophy in its different manifestations. By understanding how philosophy manifests in information science, such as the role of philosophy revealed through language and information retrieval, an opportunity is offered to reconsider the discipline’s interdisciplinary nature in the existing scholarly and societal environment, and the contribution of its historical development to the assumptions and philosophies underlying the discipline. A further empirical study on how philosophy and the philosophical are embedded in information science research is recommended. It could investigate the influence of philosophy on decisions made by South African universities to redesign information science research and study programmes. / Biblioteek- en inligtingkundige praktisyns praat nie dikwels oor die belangrikheid van filosofie en die filosofiese nie, hoewel dit algemeen in die teorie en praktyk van inligtingkunde voorkom. Hierdie ondersoek fokus op die verband tussen inligtingkunde, filosofie en die filosofiese denkhouding wat deur teoretiese en praktiese aspekte blootgelê word. Dit sluit die skepping in van teorieë wat uit die filosofiese voortspruit met die ondersoek na die rol van filosofie en die filosofiese. Dit neem kennis van vermeende probleme met herkenning, aanvaarding en verwerping van die rol van filosofiese benaderings en die impak op bepaling van die aard en die teoretiese en praktiese aspekte van inligtingkunde. Die probleem wat veroorsaak word deur nie die filosofiese benaderings te erken nie, is dat die voordele van filosofiese denke nie gebruik kan word om te verstaan hoe kennis, inligting en die kommunikasie daarvan in taal- en taaluitdrukking manifesteer nie. Drie weë word gevolg om die filosofie en die filosofiese in inligtingkunde, die verband tussen inligtingontsluiting en taal, en filosofiese denkhouding op teoretiese en praktiese vlak aan te toon. [pt] O presente trabalho de pesquisa concentra-se na área de estudos da linguagem, constando de dois troncos principais: um primeiro de análise teórica, em que se abordam questões de filosofia da linguagem e filosofia estética; e um outro de linguística aplicada, com a tradução comentada para o italiano de trechos do livro Ó (2008), de Nuno Ramos. Consta também um apêndice com a tradução integral do livro. Particularmente na primeira parte da tese serão abordadas questões relativas à análise e identificação dos procedimentos estéticos da escrita de Nuno Ramos, tentando entender suas relações com as práticas de artes plásticas e relativas contaminações, abordando a obra na perspectiva da literatura nos seus campos expandidos. Os procedimentos e técnicas usados na escrita e sua relação com as artes plásticas serão investigados de forma a entender a operação estética subjacente, investigando de que forma, a partir das características da obra, instaurar-se-ia uma relação de reciprocidade com o leitor ao qual caberia um papel ativo na produção de sentido. Os procedimentos estéticos usados pelo autor serão relacionados à sua poética de multi-artista, especialmente, na relação entre as palavras e as coisas, que se traduz no embate entre linguagem e matéria. A segunda parte, de linguística aplicada, envolve a prática tradutória stricto sensu a partir das análises desenvolvidas na seção anterior. Com base na leitura e análise da obra, e acrescentando uma parte teórico-metodológica específica sobre tradução, são definidas as linhas norteadoras das escolhas tradutórias, identificando técnicas, práticas e soluções de tradução que possam restituir no texto italiano a mesma operação estética do texto fonte. Particularmente importante será a realização, através de uma tradução que reescreva os procedimentos estéticos do texto português, conseguir recriar a relação de reciprocidade entre obra e o leitor, de forma a ativar o empasses de percepção, base para o desenvolvimento de espaços de pensamento ético-político. Uma vez identificadas as linhas tradutórias, elas serão desenvolvidas e exemplificadas através de trechos de tradução comentada. / [en] This research - in the area of language studies - consists of two main sections: the first of theoretical analysis, in which we deal with issues related to the philosophy of language and aesthetic; another of applied linguistics, in which will be presented the commented translation in Italian of selected extracts from the book Ó (2008) by Nuno Ramos. The complete translation of the book is presented as appendix to this thesis. In the first part will be investigated issues related to the analysis and identification of the aesthetic procedures of Nuno Ramos writing, also trying to understand their relationships with plastic arts practices and possible contaminations; the work will be also investigated from the perspective of literature and its extension in different expressive fields. The procedures and techniques used in writing and its relationship with the plastic arts will be examined in order to understand and identify what type of aesthetic operation underlies, analyzing how, starting from the salient features of the work, a relationship of reciprocity could be established between the work and the reader who would have an active role in the production of meaning. The aesthetic procedures implemented by the author will be related to his poetics as multiartist, especially in the relationship between words and things, which leads into a clash between language and matter. The second part, of applied linguistics, concerns the translation practice stricto sensu, realized starting from the analyzes developed in the previous section. Based on the reading and interpretation of the work - also implementing a specific theoreticalmethodological part on translation -, will be defined the guidelines for the translation choices, highlighting techniques, practices and translation solutions that can reproduce the same aesthetic operation of the source text in the Italian text . It will be particularly important to recreate, through a translation that rewrites the aesthetic procedures of the Portuguese text, a relationship of reciprocity between the work and the reader, in order to activate the same impasse of perception - a fundamental element to open spaces for an ethical-political thinking. Once the guidelines are defined, they will be developed and exemplified through extracts of commented translation. / [it] Il presente lavoro di ricerca - afferente all area di studi del linguaggio - si compone di due tronchi principali: il primo di analisi teorica, in ci si affrontando questioni relative alla filosofia del linguaggio e alla filosofia estetica; un altro di linguistica applicata, con la traduzione commentata in italiano di estratti selezionati del libro Ó (2008) di Nuno Ramos. La traduzione integrale del libro costituisce appendice alla presente tesi. Nella prima parte saranno affrontate questioni relative all analisi e identificazione dei procedimenti estetici della scrittura di Nuno Ramos, provando a comprenderne le relazioni con le pratiche delle arti plastiche e relative contaminazioni, investigando l opera sotto la prospettiva della letteratura e la sua estensione in campi espressivi diversi. I procedimenti e le tecniche usate nella scrittura e la sua relazione con le arti plastiche saranno investigati in modo da comprendere e identificare che tipo di operazione estetica vi soggiace, analizzando in che modo, proprio partendo dalle caratteristiche salienti dell opera, si instaurerebbe una relazione di reciprocità tra l opera e il lettore al quale toccherebbe il ruolo attivo nella produzione di senso. I procedimenti estetici messi in atto dall autore saranno relazionati alla sua poetica di multi-artista, soprattutto nel rapporto tra le parole e le cose, che si traduce in uno scontro tra linguaggio e materia.
