A casa na cidade: uma leitura junguiana da experiência de jovens que moram sozinhos em São Paulo / The House in the City: a junguian reading of the experience of young adults living alone in São PauloGustavo Monteiro Pessoa de Andrade 03 May 2013 (has links)
The consideration of the living space in the contemporary city has been object of study of authors from different fields of knowledge. The experience of living alone in the city must be understood from a psychological point of view in order to identify patterns and symbolic elements which sustains healthy psychic development in a society built upon the rocks and stones that make a city. This research was dedicated to investigate how young adults experience living alone in its first happening in ones life, a period in which the phenomenum becomes clearer and more visible. Interviews were conducted in order to understand how choices were made regarding the house selection, its building and furnishing, establishing a relation between this process and the constitution of individuality for each young adult. The most mentioned content was separation from the parents and the beginning of adult life in its poetic, imagetic and textual dimensions. It was possible to determine a singular development stage between adolescence and adulthood which we called youth, distinct from the other two. In a junguian reading, the presence of archetypal polarities common to all participants, represented by the mythical figures of Hermes and Hestia, in opposition, complementation and alternance, were verified. From one point of view, the experience of the house evokes velocity, vibration and change; on the other hand, it relates to focus, concentration and serenity. The balance between the two polarities and the need to have a safe place to go back to will allow individuals to adventure in the world and favor the psychic development in this stage of life, creating a solid founding on which individuality will be able to stand

Starting with the hypothesis of a common foundation for religion and art in the context of the psychical life of human beings, this dissertation intends to realize a study of the concept of symbol in the analytical psychology developed by Carl Gustav Jung, to the extend that it regards both the artistic and the religious phenomena as symbolical. The first chapter provides an analysis of the main concepts needful to the understanding of the idea of symbol, beginning with primary theoretical formulations and coming to their final delineation. The second chapter deals with the application of the previously analyzed concept of symbol to the psychological aspects of artistic creation and fruition, and of religious experience.

La chimère transférentielle : proposition épistémologique, neuroscientifique et clinico-théorique du transfert psychanalytique comme système complexe / The transferential chimera : epistemological, neuroscientific and clinico-theoretical proposal of the transference as a complex systemMartin-Vallas, François 21 April 2015 (has links)
This thesis, intended as a contribution to analytical psychology as developed by CG Jung, proposes the notion of a transferential chimera as a dimension of the transference which may not be assigned to either one of the protagonists in the analytic dyad, while still attached to them both. This denomination draws as much on the work of Michel de M’Uzan as it does on the complex semantics associated with the term chimera. The methodology used here is the clinical and theoretically underscored approach to the single case. It is predicated on the search for a proof of existence, and not a proof of universality. The first part is devoted to an epistemological discussion which takes account of the fundamental changes in theoretical understanding brought about in the field of physics since the beginning of the XXth century. This encompasses restrained relativity, quickly followed by general relativity and, laiter, by the theory of complex systems and chaos theory. It is contended that Carl Popper’s position on epistemology is in need of revision and that account needs to be taken now of the developments put forward by Theodore Adorno and Edgar Morin. The present discussion concludes that ideas such as emergence and enactment are central to the proposition in that they explain how events that occur in experience at a given time do not necessarily exist prior to their manifestation. Finally, this epistemological discussion seeks to throw light on the profound divergence between the approaches of Freud and Jung that appear to stem from a difference in their particular epistemologies. Here again, reference to physics, specifically to Poincare’s map, allows this divergence to be understood as other than a simple opposition. It assists in the understanding why in clinical psychology as in the field of psycho analysis, divergent and sometimes opposing theories, can and need to co-exist in order to construct as exhaustive a representation of reality as may be possible. In part two the chimera hypothesis is examined in the light of neurosciences. An attempt is made to represent the analytic relationship in terms of neurosciences. In no sense is such a representation to be taken as real, merely as possible. The aim is to postulate a new method of articulating neuroscience and psychoanalytic theory, whereby the experience of psychoanalytic practice is at a far greater level of complexity than it is currently possible to express neuroscientifically. This enables an account to be given of the existence of dynamics inherent in the psychoanalytic process from their observed emergence between the levels of complexity that are amenable to neuroscientific research and being experienced during psychoanalysis. Finally, in part three, different aspects of the transferential chimera will be examined as it manifests in psychoanalytic practice. With the aid of a detailed clinical example an attempt is made to establish the existence of this phenomenon. Other clinical cases will centre on an aspect or a specific moment during treatment, in order to support the proof of its existence in other contexts, that is, with patients whose functioning and psychic structure contrasts as markedly from the first case as they do amongst themselves. Finally, each case gives the opportunity to focus the theoretical and clinical discussion on a salient feature of each case. Thus the working potential of this hypothesis shall have been informed by the archetypal nature of the transference according to Jungian theory, by the potential connection between it and Freudian theory, starting with primary seduction as envisaged by Laplanche, followed by the containing function of the chimera, still in the context of Jungian theory.

This research proposes itself to the identification of the dynamics and interaction between the creation process in contemporary performance and the individuation process, a Jungian concept of human realization. A priori, considering the interconnection between the
creation process and the individuation process, as described by Carl Gustav Jung, as a process which each human being goes through, seeking for its fullfilment as a unique individual. The aim of this interconnection is to get an approximated answer to some intriguing question like, for example: during a time of intense investigation, does the dancer enlarge his or her capacity for reproduction of a gestuality originated from the laboratories? Are there moments during the performance where the perception of the wholeness of the being can be identified? If there is such an identification, which manifested aspects of totality, accessed during the gestual performances allow themselves to be identified as unique (art and Self) ? The methodological basis of this research consists in some sensorial experiences, investigative and reflexive, in a dialogical and discursive environment, in order to the body and psyche differentiations manifest themselves. The evaluation and control of the datas came out from the group assessments during laboratories development, film and photograph process, as well as the plastic register that resulted from these experiences. As a register of the process it was developed a video which is presented in hypertext / Mestrado / Mestre em Artes

[pt] O SIMBOLISMO ALQUÍMICO NA OBRA DE C.G. JUNG / [en] THE ALCHEMICAL SYMBOLISM IN C. G. JUNGS WORKANA BEATRIZ FRISCHGESEL FONSECA 30 October 2003 (has links)
[en] This dissertation describes the way in which the alchemical symbolism is reinterpreted in the light of the Junguian theory. For this purpose, some of the concepts which allow this relation are then revised, that is, the notion of symbol, the mechanism of projection and the technique of amplification. Through their articulation, Jung intends to confirm the hypothesis of the collective unconscious.

Personality types as predictor of team rolesGabriel, Malcolm Preston 06 1900 (has links)
The aim of this study was to determine whether personality types are predictors of team roles in order to make recommendations for the use of personality types, in conjunction with team roles, in selection and teambuilding. The study was conducted among 50 professionals and managers in Western Cape organisations. The data was collected by means of the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) and the TearnBuilder Model of Team Roles. Supporting evidence, although not sufficient, indicates that the Extraversion (E) personality type is a positive predictor of the Driving Onward team role and a negative predictor of the Delivering Plans team role. The Introversion (I) personality type is not a predictor of any team role. The Sensing (S) personality type is a negative predictor of the Driving Onward team role and a positive predictor of the Delivering Plans team role. The Intuition (N) personality type is a positive predictor of the Driving Onward team role and a negative predictor of the
Delivering Plans team role. The Thinking (T) personality type is a positive predictor of the Controlling Quality team role. The Feeling (F) personality type is not a predictor of any team role. The Judging (J) personality type is a positive predictor of the Planning Ahead team role, and the Perceiving (P) personality type is a negative predictor of the Planning Ahead team role. It can be assumed that the full range of personality types will be a predictor of the full range of team roles, should a larger sample size and geographical sample group be included in the

Previous issue date: 2006-05-15 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The purpose of this study is to approach the failure of resocialization measures applied to the young offender and analyze the tradition of repression and incrimination present in this area.
Firstly, it analyzes from the point of view of the analytical psychology of Carl Gustav Jung, the development of the rationality in the western culture, and the structuration of consciousness inside the current patriarchal pattern. It identifies the distinction of polarity in the consciousness, inherent to this dynamism, and its excesses such as the inclusion of the authoritarianism in the culture and the Law.
Subsequently, it identifies the archetypical conflict Father-son hidden by the conflict of the youth with the law, and the transference of this conflict to the society and the justice. The Law, which represents the cultural and collective precept, takes the archetypical function of order, limits, tradition, respect and authority, which are attributes of the father archetype and conflict with the youth, concerning his private life.
Finally, it indicates the consequences, to the development of the young offender personality, of the authoritarian pattern accepted by the Law, observing the attitude of Judges and public prosecutors that work in this area, their role and personal conflicts, accordingly it appoints better ways to establish this relationship / O trabalho aborda o fracasso prático das medidas de ressocialização aplicadas ao adolescente infrator e analisa a cultura incriminadora e repressora atualmente presente neste campo.

Previous issue date: 2006-05-26 / nenhum / This study investigates the symbolic meaning of the entrepreneurial spirit by means of the interpretation of The Lusiads by Luis de Camões, a poetic work piece that examines the Portuguese enterprise through the opening of a commercial route with the Orient. The work begins with an elucidation of the character of the entrepreneur through various perspectives: etymology, characterization, participation in the capitalist economic policy and motivation. Following this, as a justification to the utilization of a poetic work for the investigation of the theme, an exploration of poets and their interpretation of reality is undergone. Camões work is divided in to five episodes: The Departure; Adamastor, the Giant; The Path of Trials and the Divine Interference; Arrival at the Orient; The Return - The Island of Loves. The interpretation is accomplished through the use of central concepts of analytical psychology such as the process of individuation and the heroes journey. Finally, the author raises issues quoting practical cases of his professional experience, demonstrating that businesses work as projective field of the psyche of the entrepreneurs who unconsciously seek individuation within their enterprises.

Previous issue date: 2007-05-17 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This study approaches the symbolism of wine from its archetypal foundations, searching to understand its purpose and meanings to the subjective psyche. The work begins with the explanation of the concept of psyche on the analytical psychology s point of view, as well as the notion of psychic image in its personal and archetypal aspect, aiming at clarifying the idea of archetypal image. After that, using the constructive-synthetic or amplification method, developed by Carl Gustav Jung, the wine is tackled while image, based on the history of the civilizations. The following archetypal lines: wine and nature x culture, wine and sexuality, wine and drunkenness, wine and spirit and wine and transformation, are considered in elapsing of the work, allowing the dialogue between the archetypal inherent in the image of wine and its psychological phenomenology, that is, the purpose of its advent, as well as its meanings while images of dreams and fantasies. The contents amplified by the synthetic-constructive method of Jung are analyzed in accordance with central concepts of the analytical psychology. Finally, the author discusses the information raised, clarifying and punctuating the aspects of wine that characterize it as an archetypal image / Este estudo aborda o simbolismo do vinho, a partir de seus fundamentos arquetípicos, buscando compreender sua finalidade e seus significados para a psique subjetiva. Previous issue date: 2007-05-11 / The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the symbolical trajectory of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, a character created by Joss Whedon in the 1990s. The show which tells Buffy s story consists of 144 episodes, which where considered a ratings phenomenon in many countries. In order to reach this objective, all 144 episodes were watched and schematized in summaries, which made it possible to identify and discriminate significant events, images and sequences in the composition of Buffy and her journey. The themes that seemed to be relevant at this point were closely related to the hero s archetype, which is the motivator of the process of the development of consciousness. Therefore, the analysis is based on C. G. Jung s concepts of analytical psychology and on Joseph Campbell s study of the heroic cycle. Buffy is regarded as a contemporary image of the hero s archetype. Throughout her journey, she was faced with seven challenges of growing complexity, which called for deep transformation and encompassed the formation of the persona, the withdrawal of projections, and the process of making aspects of shadow and animus conscious and integrated. Her trajectory is crowned with the possibility of transforming herself as well as her surroundings. In the first six confrontations, Buffy finds a way to save the world, but in the last (the seventh), she transforms it.
