Český literární anarchismus v souvislostech socialismu a ženského hnutí (1890-1914) / Czech Literary Anarchism in the Context of Socialism and the Women's Movement (1890-1914)

Hylmar, Radek January 2017 (has links)
Czech Literary Anarchism in the Context of Socialism and the Women's Movement (1890-1914) Abstract The thesis focuses on Czech pre-WWI anarchism. It analyses it as a modernist movement comprising various activities spanning political propaganda, proposals of social organisation and thinking about moral values as well views on the arts and literary production. The aim is to present literary texts written by anarchists against a backdrop of other types of expression. At the same time, the thesis assesses anarchism in the historical context of other political, social, artistic and philosophical movements. We study the interweaving of ideological and aesthetic schemes of Czech anarchism, especially with socialism and feminism, but also concerning decadence, Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy and writings of the German Friedrichshagen poets' and anarchists' circle. The thesis focuses on how anarchism understands human beings and their relationship to the world and society. Given the anarchists' focus on the free individual, we present strategies of emancipation from traditional conventions and institutions such as marriage, family and the state. We also concentrate on reforms concerning morals and similarities with the feminist turn to one's own bodily and psychical experiences as starting points for setting...

La critique d'art de Joris-Karl Huysmans. Esthétique, poétique, idéologie / Joris-Karl Huysmans's Art Criticism. Aesthetics, Poetics, Ideology

Jeannerod, Aude 12 December 2013 (has links)
In Joris-Karl Huysmans’s art criticism, aesthetics, poetics and ideology are at stake. Though art criticism is a genre in its own right, which the author used as such, it maintains close relations with his other works: they complete one each other as well as they interfere together. In his art criticism, Huysmans develops aesthetics, which define in its turn poetics: because the critic is also a writer, his thinking about visual arts – painting, sculpture, architecture – runs parallel with his writing process/practice. His critical assessments rest upon a comparison between the arts and therefore form part of a tradition which roots in Horace’s maxim ut pictura poesis, crosses the Renaissance period with the paragone and leads to Baudelaire’s correspondances. When watching a painting, Huysmans remains a writer: he’s looking for a confirmation of his ideas about literature or a model for his writing. But because art criticism puts values and beliefs at stake, it echoes the ideological choices of its author, on socio-economic, political and epistemic levels. Huysmans sees the arts through an ideology which comes in various values (et contre-valeurs): heir of a century deeply marked by romanticism, he maintains painful relationships with his time, in trouble with modern ideas. His ideology – against capitalism, bourgeoisie and modernity – filters the way he considers the arts; it partly determines and influences, in various but often opposing ways, his aesthetic judgement.

At the second moment, it examines the Law n. 10.705/2000 of the São Paulo State to verify if it is compatible with the constitutional profile of this tax. Further on, the São Paulo legislation comes back to be the focus, to analyse the tax exemption phenomenon. Later, it concerns about the tax assessment, evidencing the peculiar aspects of this tax.

La crise de la civilisation selon Raymond Aron à travers l'exemple européen / The crisis of civilization according to Raymond Aron through the European example

Lapparent, Olivier de 25 November 2016 (has links)
The decline of Europe in the twentieth century is an indisputable fact. Can or should we go ahead and say that Europe, as a civilization, is doomed to decadence? Raymond Aron analyzed for more than 50 years the evolution of Europe through its various facets: idea, institutional building, feeling. He assures the crisis in Europe, as a crisis of civilization, to better fight it. Europe has a future. This is about thinking History. History is not the promise of some progress nor the final sentence to decadence. The realism of Aron wants to avoid two extremes: moralism and cynicism. The proposal of this thesis is the introduction of the word "oscillation" between decline and historical vitality: from decadence to decline, from decline to crisis, from crisis to conflict, from conflict to vitality, from vitality to creativity, and from creativity to action. The oscillation should literally energize Europe so as to transform crisis and conflict. Virtue is the missing link between decline and historical vitality. It allows energy to become harmonious again, to its point of equilibrium. The fulfillment of virtue puts into practice potentiality, the answer to challenge, commitment and historical vitality. The survival of the European civilization lies in this delicate edge that is a springboard to a revival.

Mýtus o Narcisovi ve francouzské literatuře přelomu 19. a 20. století / Myth of Narcissus in French literature at the turn of the 20th Century

Kučerová, Magdalena January 2014 (has links)
Mgr. Magdalena Kučerová Dissertation work: Myth of Narcissus in French literature at the turn of the 20th century ABSTRACT: This dissertation thesis based on knowledge of French myth criticism deals with the issue of myths in literature, which is a specific manifestation of human symbolic imagination. In its most general level the work studies the definition of a myth and its social function as well as the matter of opposite notions regarding to the mythos and logos, which have gradually more and more differentiated along with the development of European thinking. The myth of Narcissus has probably been one of the oldest myths in European culture. In its most renowned and most comprehensive form, the myth first appeared in the third book of Metamorphoses by Ovid, which has served as an inspiration for remakes by many later authors. The story of a young man who fell in love with his own reflection on the surface of the water contains a great variety of semantically strong structures (mainly the motifs of a mirror, narcissistic love, passively superior character of a hero, or the final metamorphoses into a flower), which are analysed in this study. The author of this study outlines the interpretational evolution of the myth of Narcissus in French literary history...

L'Anti-Salomé, représentations de la féminité bienveillante au temps de la Décadence (1850-1920) / The Anti-Salome, representations of benevolent femininity in the Time of Decadence

Daouda, Marie Kawtar 12 December 2015 (has links)
At the crossroads between two centuries, Salome plays the part of a mandatory commonplace in art and literature. Nevertheless, next to the femme fatale and just as unavoidable, stands a fragile and benevolent form of feminity, molded in the cast of the fairytale princess and theGothic novel heroine, but inspired above all by the Virgin and Martyr of the edifying novel, be it antique or contemporary. As it might be discrete enough to become unreadable, this archetype's benevolence cannot be legitimated without a sacrifice. The religious meaning of the scapegoat remains just as obvious and as efficient in the novels' narrative structure, as well as in the detailsthrough which such characters are built. Marial, magdalenian and farylike characters must undergo the same destruction trial, through which their edifying meaning becomes a litteral building-up up meaning, by juxtaposing dissimilar and yet efficien aesthetic elements which turn the character into an allegory of artistic creation. By linking mid-19th century and the 1920es and by weaving a link between the most famous of Baudelaire's heirs and the ones whose name is just merging out of oblivion, the purpose of this study is to analyse how much these representations of benevolent femininity must be seen as a permanence, as a monument – or as a monumentum – where late-19th century will not only gaze a the death of a declining era, but concentrate all what will be used to theorize idealist artistic movements on the edge of the 20th century.

L'oeuvre de Nicolas Minsky dans le contexte du symbolisme français / Works of Nikolay Minsky in the context of French symbolism /

Kuntsevich, Daria 09 March 2018 (has links)
The dissertation is devoted to a complex comparative research of works of the poet, philosopher, publicist, playwright and one of founders of symbolism in Russia, Nikolay Maksimovich Minsky, in the context of the French symbolism. The dissertation examines the genesis of early Russian symbolism, which was partially shaped by the concepts and categories of French symbolism. The work presents a large body of texts in Russian, translated into French for the first time and previously not subject to literary analysis; these texts reveal the picture of the socio-cultural situation and the main features of the turn-of-the-century consciousness of the late XIX century. Minsky's work was formed at the junction of influence of French and Russian literature, so the comparative approach to the analysis of the poet's work allows us to determine its place in the development of world culture, as well as to emphasize once again the importance of the cultural ties between Russia and France.

La res publica et sa décadence : de Salluste à Tite-Live / The decadence of the res publica : from Sallust to Livy

Vassiliades, Georgios 19 November 2016 (has links)
This study explores in a comparative perspective the historical presentation and the philosophical interpretation of the decadence of the res publica in Sallust and Livy. In the first part, it is shown that Sallust and Livy are the first authors who have chosen the progress and decline of a State as the central theme of their works. Through a precise examination of the stages of decadence in both writers, we observe that Livy constantly proposes corrections to Sallust’s theory. Neither author’s pattern conforms to a cyclical or a linear vision of time. The organicist representation of the body politic also shows that men are solely responsible for the disease of decadence in both authors. However, the resumption of progress according to a cyclical conception and the healing of the body of the State are considered as potential prospects only by Livy. The second part is devoted to the causes of the disease of decadence, and the third one to the healing of the res publica. Three factors are discussed in detail: the "divine" factors, the metus hostilis and the human nature. Livy reverses the increasingly pessimistic analysis of Sallust, and reintroduces man as the most important factor in history and as responsible for the decadence. In the third part, their different view of the future of Rome is brought into focus, through the study of the political position and the exemplary function of the two historians’ works. It is concluded that Livy adopts Sallustian categories of analysis, but he conceives his own presentation and interpretation of the decadence in response to his predecessor, whose theories he challenges.
