Le hasard m’a permis de faire des belles découvertes. La beauté particulière des câbles électriques et leur potentiel plastiques ont ainsi éclairé mon parcours artistique. J’ai fait le choix du câble comme matière première de mon œuvre depuis 1999. Une technique artisanale celle du Crochet, en lien avec la tapisserie contemporaine met l’accent sur l’idée de la connectivité et le tissage des liens sociaux par un seul fil continu sans coupure. Je cherche une transgression de cette pratique au profit d'une compréhension plus large de ce qu’elle représente. Par la répétition gestuelle qui m’a permis de conduire à une forme de ritualisation de ma technique, je passe par une phase de conscience où la perception devient plus aiguisée. Ma pratique est devenue une forme d’existence, d'amélioration et de soulagement pour arriver au constat d’un effet magique qui délivre le corps par une spiritualité. C’est aussi une forme de connectivité, d’échange avec des plasticiens qui ont agrandi mon univers. Par le travail sériel, monochrome (noir) et une analyse épistémologique, je suggère un mé-tissage de certaines disciplines, une forme d’hybridation entre un univers cosmologique, mathématique et physique. Mon corps devient un fil conducteur dessine dans l’espace externe mon intériorité par des vidéos performatives et expressives. Je fais là l’expérience d'une contiguïté issue en réalité de la continuité du fil. Cet espace interne et fusionnel, où je fais l'expérience de mon corps en relation avec le fil continu, revêt souvent une dimension imaginaire, auquel s'ajoute un espace externe, celui de la représentation et de la mise à distance dans le monde physique de mon œuvre. / Chance has allowed me to make beautiful discoveries. The particular beauty of the electric cables and their plastic potential have thus illuminated my artistic career. I made the choice of cable as raw material of my work since 1999. A traditional technique, that of Crochet, in connection with contemporary tapestry emphasizes the idea of connectivity and the weaving of social links by a single continuous thread, an unbroken thread. But I seek a transgression of this practice in favor of a broader understanding of what it represents. By the gestural repetition that allowed me to lead to a form of ritualization of my technique, I go through a phase of consciousness where the perception becomes more acute. My practice has become a form of existence, improvement, and relief to come to the realization of a magical effect, which delivers the body spiritually. It is also a form of connectivity, of exchange with several artists of which I made the collection carefully and which enlarged my universe, then by the serial work, monochrome (black) and an epistemological analysis, I suggest a " miscegenation" of certain disciplines in my work, a form of hybridization between a cosmological universe, mathematical and physical are interlaced. My body becomes a drawing thread in the external space, my interiority by performative and expressive videos. I am experiencing an adjacency that actually comes from the continuity of the thread. This internal and fusional space, where I experience my body in relation to the continuous thread, often takes on an imaginary dimension, to which is added an external space, that of representation and distancing in the physical world of my work.

Thesis (PhD)--Macquarie University, Australian Centre for Educational Studies, School of Education, 2008. / Bibliography: p. 159-177. / This thesis examines student identity construction and teacher identity construction in the context of secondary English Years 7-10 classrooms in a comprehensive high school in Western Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The research journey chronicles the teaching and learning experiences of a small group of students and teachers at Heartbreak High. The narrative provides insights into the factors responsible for creating teacher identity(s) and the identities of both engaged and disengaged students. -- Previous studies have tended to focus on the construction of disaffected student identities. In contrast, this case study tells the stories of both engaged and disengaged students and of their teachers utilising a unique framework that adapts and combines a range of theoretical perspectives. These include ethnography as a narrative journey (Atkinson, 1990), Fourth Generation Evaluation (Guba & Lincoln, 1990; Lincoln & Guba, 1989), reflexivity (Jordan & Yeomans, 1995), Grounded Theory (Strauss & Corbin, 1990; Sugrue, 1974) and multiple realities (Stake, 1984). -- The classical notion of the student-teacher dynamic is questioned in this inquiry. Students did not present powerless, passive, able-to-be motivated identities; they displayed significant agency in (re) creating 'self(s)' at Heartbreak High based largely on 'desires'. Engaged student identities reflected a teacher's culture and generally exhibited a "desire to know." In contrast, disaffected students exhibited a "desire for ignorance," rejecting the teacher's culture in order to fulfil their desire to belong to peer subculture(s). The capacity for critical reflection and empathy were also key factors in the process of their identity constructions. Disengaged students displayed limited capacity to empathise with, or to critically reflect about, those whom they perceived as "different". In contrast, engaged students exhibited a significant capacity to empathise with others and a desire to critically reflect on their own behaviour, abilities and learning. -- This ethnographic narrative offers an alternate lens with which to view pedagogy from the perspectives that currently dominate educational debate. The findings of this study support a multifaceted model of teacher identity construction that integrates the personal 'self(s)' and the professional 'self(s)' that are underpinned by 'desires'. Current tensions inherent in the composition of teacher identities are portrayed in this thesis and it reveals the teacher self(s) as possessing concepts that are desirous of being efficacious, autonomous and valued but are diminished by disempowerment and fear. / Mode of access: World Wide Web. / 266 p. ill

This study investigates the reading habits of three Thai students between their early twenties to early thirties. Although the focus of interest is on their English reading, their reading habits in Thai and English, both fiction and non-fiction, are studied. None of the three subjects regularly reads fiction in Thai or English, and non-fiction books are read almost exclusively for the purpose of study. The research confirms the hypothesis that present reading habits are determined by positive or negative reading experiences in the past. Subjects who enjoyed positive experiences reading fiction or non-fiction in their early years have become regular readers of fiction or non-fiction; the subject who had negative early reading experiences is not a regular reader of any kind of books in either Thai or English. The study does suggest, however, that despite the strong effect of early reading experiences, positive reading experiences in the present can help adults become engaged readers. / English Studies / M.A. (TESOL)

Les poésies concrète, visuelle, sonore, apparues au début des années 1950 dans une vingtaine de pays du monde, dont l’Allemagne, la Suisse et l’Autriche, et les pièces radiophoniques expérimentales ont, jusqu’à présent, été perçues comme jeux formels avec le matériau verbal épargnant à leurs auteurs une prise de position politique par rapport au réel. Face à la réception réductrice du concept sartrien de « littérature engagée », les poétiques expérimentales apparaissent comme « désengagées ». Or, les auteurs invoquent la portée politique de leur déconstruction de poétiques traditionnelles, de normes linguistiques et de modes de pensée de la culture occidentale. Les formes d’écriture expérimentale ne seraient-elles pas alors des choix politiques au sens où elles ébranlent des visions et expériences du monde? Cette mise à distance du réel provoquerait ce que Rancière appelle la « subjectivation politique », c'est-à-dire l’émancipation du citoyen par rapport à son identité sociale figée par des manières de dire et de penser. Montrant l’intention politique immanente à certains choix poétiques cette étude aborde la notion d’engagement sous un angle poétologique / Concrete, visual and sound poetry, as well as experimental radio plays, appearing in the early 1950s in Germany, Switzerland and Austria specifically, have until now been perceived as formal games with language, sparing their authors from taking any political position with regards to reality. Given this narrow understanding of the sartrian concept of “engaged literature”, experimental poetry hence appeared as “disengaged.” And yet, authors insist on the deconstruction of traditional poetry, of linguistic norms and of the Occidental vision of culture. As a consequence, shouldn’t we also understand experimental literary forms as political in the sense that they shatter our traditional vision and experience of the world? The distance taken from reality leads to what Rancière calls “political subjectivity”, by which he means the emancipation of the individual from a fixed social identity through news ways of saying and thinking. Analyzing the political intention inherent to specific poetical choices, this study offers a poetic approach of literary political engagement

The work describes an air conditioning and circulation system of a clean room environment in of a semiconductor production site. It is based on given requirements for air cleanness, temperature preasure and relative moisture. The first half of the work describes the way the system should work, classification of construction and operation of the site. The second half describes the calculations of the given parameters on which the system is designed. The calculations deal with - Air exchange and maintaining the required parameters - Designing the muti stage air filtration system - Designing the air flow speed, intake and outlet parameters of the air conditiong distribution system - Desingning the air conditioning units and their possitioning in the utility room

This master thesis aims to investigate participatory art with focus on socially engaged art. The study is based on  Hannah Arendt’s theories of plurality, the public space and the work of art as a ”thought-thing” where the sensory experiences are central. The human’s social life is based on appearances, and individuals appear in front of each other. These appearances are based on a variety of perspectives. The purpose of the essay is to understand what vulnerability means for the art form, and how we as viewers can approach the artwork. By taking a theoretical point of view, the process draws support from Arendt's claim about the work of art as a ”thought-thing”. This is also the method for the thesis where the thought and it’s exploration have a central place and contribute to an organic process. This process follows the events that occur in the outside world like a ”train of thoughts” that connects and develops as a chain.          During this process there have been two great world events that have affected peoples freedom and ability to meet: the pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine. This led to the study being influenced by art initiatives linked to Ukraine.           The study begins with identifying the roles and perspectives in the artwork and then continues to discuss how to approach the analysis. This led to see the artwork as several parts that form a whole with the conclusion that the hermeneutic circle would form an appropriate method. The spectator’s pre-understanding is the starting point of the interpretation and helps to reach a deeper understanding of the subject. Finally the analysis results in an interpretation of the French artist JR’s work The Resilience of Ukraine that takes place in Liviv in March 2022. This participatory artwork illustrates the Ukrainian people’s situation in the war between Russia and their country.           The conclusion of the study is that it is important to see whose vulnerability it is that shapes the artwork and that vulnerability is an aesthetic perspective that enables a deeper understanding of the world. The spectator is an active agent that takes part in the appearances even when not formally invited to join the event. With it’s pre-understanding and ability to interpret, the role activates and the spectator gains a deeper understanding of the situation or the artwork. It is the ability to gain deeper understanding that is central for the spectator.

The pace of technological advancement and growth in the twenty-first century continues to soar at unprecedented levels and beyond human imagination. As the fourth industrial revolution unfolds, it has become increasingly difficult to predict the direction technological innovation will take in the not too distant future. Digital technologies have become an integral part of every aspect of human existence (work, play, schooling and personal relationships). The purpose of this study was to explore the various ways mobile technological gadgets like cell phones, tablets and laptops could be leveraged to promote a culture of leisure reading amongst a group of Zimbabwean adolescent learners. Data was collected using the literacy practices interview, mobile reading diaries, focus group interviews and the researcher’s personal field notes. Theoretically, the study was guided primarily by Urie Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological systems theory. Also, the study was supported by Guthrie and Wigfield's reader engagement model and Turner and Hicks' connected reader model. The empirical data collected through the data collection instruments were analysed inductively. The findings revealed that adolescent learners are a digital generation whose reading needs are ever growing and expectations are ever changing. The adolescent participants expect their reading to be like the rest of their digital lives, which is quick, uninterrupted, personalised and smart. It was found that the adolescent participants like to read on their terms, as they dislike being told when to read or what to read. Three reader identities were revealed namely; the eager reader, the ‘fifty fifty’ reader and the non-reader. The adolescent participants who were not already mobile readers readily accepted and adopted mobile reading as it afforded them vast reading opportunities. Besides, the findings of the study revealed that participants encountered many challenges, which in some instances militated against their mobile reading endeavours. These challenges were because of mobile phone use restrictions in schools, prohibitive data costs, a strong emphasis on academic reading as opposed to leisure reading and internet connectivity problems amongst other issues. In this study, the recommendations and guidelines outlined provide a framework with which schools, parents, mobile reading application developers and policymakers can adopt to support a robust mobile reading culture amongst Zimbabwean adolescent learners. The researcher concluded that mobile reading devices are a novel, noble and credible means through which they can foster positive leisure literacy practices amongst Zimbabwean adolescents. / Language Education, Arts and Culture / Ph. I en tid där en ny lågkonjunktur ökar pressen på företag att öka vinster och minska kostnader har engagerade medarbetares bidrag visat sig ha en avgörande roll. Trots detta utgör andelen engagerade medarbetare endast en femtedel av medarbetarna på Sveriges organisationer. De flesta medarbetare känner sig osäkra på sin uppgift eller om ledningen ens vill ha deras hjälp. Om engagerade medarbetare är nyckeln till organisationens överlevnad, varför nyttjas den inte i större utsträckning? Examensarbetets syfte har varit att undersöka hur delaktiga och engagerade medarbetare bidrar till förbättringsarbete utifrån frågeställningarna “Hur bidrar engagerade medarbetare till förbättringsarbetet?” och “Hur kan organisationer öka medarbetarnas delaktighet i förbättringsarbetet?”. Den teoretiska referensramen tar avstamp ur två av värderingarna som används inom offensiv kvalitetsutveckling: Skapa möjlighet för alla att vara delaktiga och arbeta ständigt med förbättringar. Studien utfördes utifrån en i huvudsak kvalitativ forskningsstrategi, genom utskickandet av en enkät. Enkätens utfall bekräftade tio identifierade faktorer från litteraturstudien som påverkar medarbetarengagemang. Studien visade vikten av bekräftelse och uppskattning, såsom belöning kopplat till engagemang och lyfte fram ytterligare en aspekt: Engagemang sprider engagemang. Forskningsfrågorna besvarades genom följande slutsatser: -        Engagerade medarbetare bidrar till förbättringsarbetet genom delaktighet, gott medarbetarskap, ett mer frekvent behovsinriktat idéflöde, självledarskap och genom att sprida engagemang i en lärande, idédriven organisationskultur. -        Organisationer kan öka medarbetarnas delaktighet i förbättringsarbetet genom att öka medarbetarengagemang, säkerställa progress och tillhandahålla tillfredsställande arbetsmiljö och arbetssätt. / At a time when a new recession is increasing the pressure on companies to increase profits and reduce costs, the contribution of engaged employees has proven to be crucial. Despite this, the percentage of engaged employees only makes up a fifth of the employees at the organizations in Sweden. Most employees feel uncertain about their role or whether management even wants their help. If engaged employees hold the key to the organization's survival, why is it not used to a greater extent? The purpose of this study has been to investigate how participating and engaged employees contribute to improvement work based on the following questions "How do engaged employees contribute to the improvement work?" and "How can organizations increase employee participation in improvement work?". The theoretical frame of reference is based on two of the values used in offensive quality development: Create the opportunity for everyone to participate and work continuously with improvements. The study was carried out based on an essentially qualitative research strategy, by sending out a questionnaire. The outcome of the survey confirmed ten identified factors from the literature study that affect employee engagement. The study showed the importance of affirmation and appreciation, such as rewards linked to engagement and highlighted another aspect: engagement spreads engagement. The research questions were answered through the following conclusions: -        Engaged employees contribute to the improvement work through participation, employeeship, a more frequent need-oriented flow of ideas, self-leadership and by spreading engagement in a learning, idea-driven organizational culture. -        Organizations can increase employee participation in improvement work by increasing employee engagement, ensuring progress and providing satisfactory work environment and working methods.
