Till följd av de senaste årens snabba utveckling av artificiell intelligens och generativ AI har frågan om teknikens implementering på olika yrkesområden blivit alltmer aktuell. Journalistiken är inget undantag och mycket pekar på att flera av yrkets arbetsuppgifter kan komma att ersättas av AI. Den här studien syftar till att undersöka hur lokala mediekoncerner ställer sig till utvecklingen och användandet av AI och vilken effekt det kan få på journalistiken som yrke och samhällsinstitution. Detta görs genom att studera hur mediekoncernerna använder sig av tekniken idag, hur de tror att de kommer använda sig av den i framtiden och vad det kan ha för betydelse för journalistiken i sin helhet. Studien baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra reportrar och fyra personer med chefsroller inom lokala nyhetskoncerner för att även möjliggöra svar utifrån olika perspektiv. För att kunna analysera relationen mellan journalister och teknisk utveckling valde vi att utgå från professionaliseringsteorin och teknologisk determinism. Studien undersöker vilka faktorer som påverkar utvecklingen av det journalistiska arbetet och vilka konsekvenser utvecklingen kan ha på journalistiken i stort. Enligt tidigare forskning saknas det en tydlig bild av huruvida AI kommer att ha en positiv eller negativ inverkan på journalistiken då det finns tydliga fördelar samtidigt som AI kan ha en negativ effekt på exempelvis trovärdighet. Studiens resultat överensstämmer i stor utsträckning med den tidigare forskningen, sett till att det framkommer både möjligheter i form av effektivisering, frigörande av resurser och ökad tillgänglighet. Men även risker, så som etiska risker och hot mot mediers demokratiska uppdrag. I viss mån identifieras skillnader i synen på AI beroende på yrkesroller inom mediebranschen, vilket även det överensstämmer med tidigare forskning. Det framkommer att AI sannolikt kommer få en betydande roll i den framtida journalistikens utformning, vilket i sin tur innebär att det kommer krävas en stor försiktighet i implementeringen av tekniken för att inte riskera att deprofessionalisera yrket eller hota journalistikens demokratiska uppdrag.

I dagens samhälle talas det dagligen i media om AI, både som hot och möjlighet, och det kommer nya verktyg och AI-stöd hela tiden. Men hur är det att faktiskt använda dessa i en gestaltande process? Vilka frågor och problem möter jag som kreatör när jag vill använda mig av AI-stödda verktyg? Kan jag lita på resultatet som jag får från verktygen? Kan jag lita på leverantörerna och de resultat som produceras. Är resultaten representativa, inkluderande och faktabaserade eller behöver jag kritiskt granska och bedöma dem? Genom att ha använt mig av AI-stödda verktyg under en gestaltande process, där jag skapat en berättelse som har visualiserats och sedan tonsatts, så har jag undersökt hur dessa verktyg har påverkat mitt gestaltande och samtidigt undersökt vilka risker och problem som kan vara associerade med användandet av dessa AI-stödda verktyg. Resultaten visar att även om det snabbt går att nå resultat i den gestaltande processen, så är det flera frågor vi behöver ta ställning till.

This study examines how new technologies, particularly generative artificial intelligence (AI), have become an innovative tool for communicators and how it affects their productivity and creativity. Through a combination of literature review, theoretical frameworks, and empirical research, we analyze how communicators integrate generative AI into their work process and how this affects their workflow and conditions. The study is based on the following questions: How are software-based text chat robots used by communicators in their professional role; To what extent do communicators perceive that there is an impact on creativity and productivity when co-writing between human and machine; What opportunities and challenges do communicators imagine that software-based text chat robots can contribute to? The findings indicate that generative AI has the potential to transform the communications industry by increasing efficiency and freeing up time for more strategic thinking and creativity. Communicators report increased productivity and that generative AI has the ability to help communicators manage large text bases in an agile way. At the same time, the study also identifies challenges and potential risks with the use of generative AI. Among these challenges are issues related to ethics, quality assurance and the need to maintain human control and creative input in the creation process. Communicators are aware of these challenges and emphasize the importance of balancing automation with human skills and insight. Finally, the study highlights the opportunities and challenges of the use of generative AI for communicators and identifies areas for future research and development. By understanding the potential benefits and limitations of this technology, communicators can develop strategies to maximize its positive effects and manage its challenges effectively.

This study aims to investigate how communication specialists perceive the integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) within their profession and how these changes affect their professional role. The purpose of the study was achieved by conducting qualitative interviews with eight communication professionals regarding their view on the integration of generative AI within their profession. Particularly, we found it interesting to examine how the communication specialists use generative AI within their professional role, what risks and/or opportunities they identify concerning the use of generative AI tools within the communication profession and what factors they deem as crucial for successfully and effectively integrating AI tools within their professional roles. The theoretical framework of the study consists of diffusion theory, actor-network theory, risk society and reflexive modernity.  The results of the study indicate that communication specialists see several opportunities in integrating generative AI tools into their work. Key opportunities identified included using generative AI for inspiration and automating repetitive tasks, thereby allowing communication professionals to allocate more time to the strategic aspects of their work. There was no expressed concern that generative AI could currently replace the communication specialist’s professional role. Thus, the risks identified did not seem to revolve around the job security of the communication specialists but rather around the uncertainty about how generative AI functions, its capabilities, and how it handles the input data. Therefore, the establishment of clearer guidelines and policies on AI usage was something that the communication specialists in this study expressed a great need for. Additional factors identified by communication specialists as crucial for successful AI integration included individual characteristics such as curiosity, a willingness to learn, and openness to change. Thus, the results of the study indicate that achieving successful and effective integration of generative AI is perceived to be a shared responsibility at both organizational and individual levels.

In recent years Generative AI tools have become increasingly ubiquitous and have given rise to much discussion concerning their impact on jobs, both in personal use and corporate settings. Despite Generative AI being a rapidly growing field, there is currently an existing research gap regarding the adoption of these tools across different domains. This study aims to fill this gap by contributing with knowledge on how designers might integrate Generative AI into their workflows. By adopting a Research through design (RtD) approach, three workshops were held where designers used generative AI tools to co-create design fictions envisioning how AI tools would permeate their future workflows. Thematic analysis of the workshop data revealed both desirable and undesirable futures from the designers’ perspectives situating AI at various stages of design – from assisting designers with mundane tasks to helping with ideation and testing. The futures brought up reflections on designers in control of the workflow, the dynamics of human-AI collaboration and the evolving role of the designer. The study contributes knowledge about different forms human-AI interactions could take in the near future, and highlights the importance of careful consideration when deploying these tools in a human-centric manner. / De senaste åren har generative AI-verktyg blivit alltmer vanliga, vilket har skapat många diskussioner angående deras påverkan på arbetet, både för personligt bruk och inom företagsmiljöer. Trots att generativ AI är ett snabbt växande fält, finns det en forskningslucka när det gäller anpassning av dessa verktyg inom olika domäner. Syftet med studien är att fylla detta gap genom att generera kunskap om hur designers kan integrera generativ AI i sina arbetsflöden. Genom att använda en forskning-genom-design (RtD) metod, hölls tre workshops där designers skulle använda generativa AIverktyg för att gemensamt skapa “designfiktioner” för att föreställa sig hur AI-verktyg skulle påverka deras arbetsflöden. Tematisk analys av workshopdata uppvisade både önskvärda och oönskade framtidsscenarier som placerade generativ AI i olika stadier av design — från att assistera designers med repetativa uppgifter till att hjälpa till med kreativitet och testning. Framtiderna inspirerade reflektioner över designers kontroll över processen, dynamiken i mänsklig-AIsamverkan och designers egna roller. Studien bidrar med kunskap om olika former av mänsklig-AI-interaktioner skulle kunna se ut i en nära framtid och belyser vikten av noggranna överväganden vid implementering av dessa verktyg på ett människocentrerat sätt.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to transform various industries, including the creative industry [1]. The potential disruption is facilitated by technology-driven products, with these products it is increasingly important to keep user goals, behaviour and needs at the centre during the development and designing phase. Through a situated user study using online content analysis, a survey, and semi-structured interviews I describe the current role of AI tools in the video production industry, and I identify potential future tools that could benefit professional content creators. According to these professional content creators AI tools currently primarily serve a supportive role, enhancing efficiency and video quality while still requiring human input for storytelling and quality assurance. The professionals are increasingly integrating AI into their workflows to be more increase their value as creators. Drawing from a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach I highlight a discrepancy between user needs and research focus, suggesting that future AI tools should prioritize improving client communication, automating non-creative tasks in post-production, and making animation more accessible. As generative video AI continues to develop, ethical concerns surrounding gender and ethnicity bias continue to be an important aspect for future research to ensure equal representation in generated video content. / Artificiell intelligens (AI) har potential att förändra olika branscher, inklusive den kreativa industrin [1]. Den potentiella omvälvningen underlättas av teknikdrivna produkter, och med dessa produkter blir det allt viktigare att hålla användarnas mål, beteende och behov i centrum under utvecklings- och designfasen. Genom en situerad användarstudie med hjälp av innehållsanalys online, en enkät och semistrukturerade intervjuer beskriver jag den nuvarande rollen för AI-verktyg i videoproduktionsbranschen, och jag identifierar potentiella framtida verktyg som kan gynna professionella innehållsskapare. Enligt dessa professionella innehållsskapare har AI-verktyg för närvarande främst en stödjande roll och förbättrar effektiviteten och videokvaliteten samtidigt som det fortfarande krävs mänsklig input för storytelling och kvalitetssäkring. De professionella innehållsskaparna integrerar i allt högre grad AI i sina arbetsflöden för att öka sitt värde som kreatörer. Med utgångspunkt i en användarcentrerad design (UCD) belyser jag en diskrepans mellan användarnas behov och forskningsfokus, och föreslår att framtida AI-verktyg bör prioritera att förbättra kundkommunikationen, automatisera icke-kreativa uppgifter i efterproduktionen och göra animering mer tillgänglig. Eftersom generativ video-AI fortsätter att utvecklas, fortsätter etiska problem kring kön och etnicitet att vara en viktig aspekt för framtida forskning för att säkerställa lika representation i genererat videoinnehåll.

Det problem som denna studie fokuserar på är den påverkan Open AI:s nya version av chattboten ChatGPT har på högskoleutbildningen. ChatGPT har fått en enorm spridning bland inte minst universitets- och högskolestudenter och snabbt skapat osäkerhet bland landets utbildningsanordnare. Samtidigt som verktyget ökar möjligheter för inlärning och motivation i studielivet, bidrar det till att minska tröskeln för fusk och plagiarism. Detta ställer krav på lärare att för att ta tillvara möjligheter och minimera risker se över sina undervisnings- och examinationsmetoder. Frågeställningen som valts är: “Hur påverkar ChatGPT den svenska universitets- och högskoleutbildningen sett från lärares perspektiv?”. Metoderna som tillämpades är kvalitativ strategi i form av fenomenologi, som till sin natur är djup och detaljerad. Semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med videokonferensteknik och analyserades med hjälp av en tematisk analys. En utforskande urvalsstrategi användes där åtta kursansvariga högskolelärare från sju svenska lärosäten valdes ut slumpmässigt. Resultatet visar att samtliga lärare tycker sig se samt förutspå en påverkan på universitets-och högskoleutbildningen orsakad av ChatGPT. Synen på hur ChatGPT:s påverkan ser ut samt hur möjligheter tas tillvara och hur risker minimeras varierar väldigt mycket. Lärarna uttrycker oroskänslor kopplade till bristande information kring ämnet och önskar tydligare vägledning från skolledningen. Slutsatsen är att ChatGPT:s existens redan har och kommer att påverka den svenska universitets- och högskoleutbildningen på flera vis. Studien visar att det behövs åtgärder på institutionerna för att vidareutbilda lärarna, implementera ChatGPT i undervisningen, lära studenterna använda ChatGPT på rätt sätt samt ändra examinationsrutiner för att förhindra fusk. Möjligheter som användandet av ChatGPT kommer leda till är ökad jämlikhet, effektivare drift samt kvalitetshöjningar av utbildningar. Riskerna består av att studenternas kritiska tänkande och problemlösningsförmåga kan minska och att bekvämligheten med ChatGPT riskerar att göra studenterna lata samt att fusket kan öka. Lärarnas och skolledningarnas kompetens och förmåga att anpassa sin undervisning kommer att avgöra om generativ AI som ChatGPT kommer att höja eller sänka kvaliteten i högre utbildning. / The problem this study focuses on is the impact Open AI's new version of the chatbot ChatGPT has on higher education. ChatGPT has gained enormous popularity among not least university and college students and quickly created uncertainty among the country's education providers. While the tool increases opportunities for learning and motivation in student life, it helps to reduce the threshold for cheating and plagiarism. This places demands on teachers to review their teaching and examination methods in order to take advantage of opportunities and minimize risks. The chosen question is “How does ChatGPT affect Swedish university and college education from a teacher's perspective?. The methods applied are qualitative strategy in the form of phenomenology, which by its nature is deep and detailed. Semi-structured interviews were conducted using video conferencing technology and analyzed using a thematic analysis. An exploratory selection strategy was used, where eight course-responsible college teachers from seven Swedish universities were randomly selected. The result shows that all teachers think they see and predict an impact on university and college education caused by ChatGPT. The view of how ChatGPT's impact looks like and how opportunities are taken advantage of and how risks are minimized vary greatly. The teachers express concerns linked to a lack of information about the subject and wish for clearer guidance from the school management. The conclusion is that ChatGPT's existence has already and will affect Swedish university and college education in several ways. The study shows that measures are needed at the institutions to further train the teachers, implement ChatGPT in teaching, teach students to use ChatGPT correctly and change examination routines to prevent cheating. Possibilities that the use of ChatGPT will lead to are increased equality, more efficient operation and quality increases in education. The risks are that students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills may decrease and that the convenience of ChatGPT risks making students lazy and that cheating may increase. The competence and ability of teachers and school leaders to adapt their teaching will determine whether generative AI such as ChatGPT will raise or lower quality in higher education.

Denna studie presenterar en undersökning om användningen av ChatGPT inom programvaruutveckling. Med den snabba tillväxten av artificiell intelligens (AI) och dess inverkan på teknikområdet, har verktyg som ChatGPT blivit alltmer relevanta inom mjukvaruutveckling. Studiens huvudsyfte är att undersöka hur ChatGPT kan fungera som ett verktyg i programvaruutvecklingsprocessen och om det kan bidra till att underlätta utvecklingsprocessen för en utvecklare.Genom en kombination av enkätundersökningar och experiment har studien visat att ChatGPT har potential att vara ett värdefullt verktyg inom programvaruutveckling. Detta genom att erbjuda automatisk kodkomplettering och andra hjälpmedel som kan förbättra utvecklarnas effektivitet. Resultaten från denna studie indikerar att integrationen av AI-verktyg som ChatGPT i mjukvaruutvecklingsprocessen kan leda till förbättrade arbetsflöden och ökad produktivitet. Dock bör ytterligare forskning genomföras för att fullt ut förstå fler potentiella fördelar och utmaningar. This by offering automatic code completion and other aids that can improve developers' efficiency. However, further research should be conducted to better understand potential benefits and challenges. Artificial Intelligence (AI) possesses the potential to profoundly reshape numerous established industries, including the video games industry. This transformative potential arises from algorithms that operate not only on a technical level, but also on a creative and artistic level, particularly with the advent of generative AI. To elucidate the current role of AI within the video game industry and identify potential trajectories for development, structured interviews were conducted with programmers, AI experts, and video game professionals. Moreover, the study aimed to discern the areas in which generative AI will have the most significant impact. The primary findings indicate that AI should function as an assistant, offering suggestions rather than making decisions. Furthermore, AI facilitates increased diversity and accessibility within the industry through enhanced representation. Urgent discussions regarding the protection of artists and the ethical implications of these advancements are crucial for timely legislation development. The study also revealed that AI currently assumes a supportive role, augmenting human labor efficiency. It is employed for tasks such as balancing gameplay, matchmaking, debugging, anti-cheat mechanisms, and non-player character (NPC) dialogue. Human input remains indispensable, particularly in the creative domain and quality assurance processes. Lastly, the report underscores the opportunities and challenges presented by these technical advancements and proposes potential solutions. The findings contribute to a comprehensive comprehension of the implications of AI and generative AI within the industry and offer recommendations for their responsible and ethical utilization. / Artificiell intelligens (AI) har potentialen att på ett djupgående sätt omforma flera etablerade branscher, inklusive spelindustrin.
