The era, the discourses, the love : structural and historical approach of indifeerence to things of love

Victoria, Bernard 11 July 2015 (has links)
Based on the works of Jacques Lacan and Cornelius Castoriadis, we propose an articulation of structure and history in order to build a psychoanalytic approach of the impacts of our era — in its dual determination by consumerist market logic, and the scientific discourse — on loving relationships. We have been able to propose a psychoanalytic, structural and historical approach of the causes, the conditions and consequences of indifference to things of love induced by capitalist discourse structure and the socio-historical purview witch is linked to it.

Le rôle de la photographie dans l’esthétique moderniste (1905-1930) : changer le regard du poète / The Role of photography in modernist aesthetic (1905-1930) : changing the poet’s eye

Reverseau, Anne 31 May 2011 (has links)
This dissertation examines the transformations of the poetic gaze through the prism of the photographic imaginary in the modernist age. Literary reviews and works by Apollinaire, Cendrars, Reverdy, Fargue, Mac Orlan, Albert-Birot, Morand, Larbaud, Soupault, Levet, Segalen or Roussel enable us to examine the role of photography between 1905 and 1930. The influence of photography is tangible in the realms of amateur and recreational practices, iconography or collections. Photography appears in poems as an external model, alternately magic, exotic, technical or documentary. Photography thus informs poetry from within: descriptions, real-life effects and optical devices show the link between the representations of the visual and the photographic gaze. This dissertation emphasizes the continuity between Modernism and Surrealism and demonstrates how photography redefined the modernist aesthetic in poetry.

This dissertation addresses the television as an imaginary technology that promotes health in the biopolitics to spread the caring with the body and appearance. The study was based to understand how the imaginary media uses the association between body care and the responsibility of individuals to produce a specific health appearance, that we call the imaginary health. Starting from the comprehensive sociology, we use the concept of biopolitics in Foucault and imaginary notions of Maffesoli and Durand as a theoretical and methodological basis for the analysis of the empirical material: the reality shows Medida Certa and Além do Peso, televised by TV Globo and TV Record respectively. The confluences of the Foucault system body and the reflections of the social imaginary allowed understanding the appearance as an anthropological structure that puts the body into communication. Thus, to analyze the corpus, we identified the forms of the imaginary media by proposing a theoretical and methodological model based on three categories: body without forms, based on the social imaginary about the risks of fat / inactivity to health; media modeling of the bodies, with formation / stimulation of an imagination on the efforts in search of weight and health measures; and prêt-à-porter body considering the presentation of the image of a healthy aesthetic ready for exposure / consumption. Based on this, it was possible to understand that the media imaginary spread a sense of health whose images and contents are materialized in the shapes of bodies.

This study dialogues with the multi-referential and post-modern cultural scenario, imperative of choices and of the visibility of these. In its repercussion within the religious, a non accommodation of the religious inheritances is ongoing, which promotes a reflexive pursuit of meaning, engendering trajectories of experimentation whose affiliations seem to only make sense if by conviction. This subjective religious mobility is in the in-between-numbers. The purpose of this text is to dialogue with a small group of bloggers: yogins, to hear from them, also, about the shifts in course, now that the internet can be understood as a field in development of the study of the religious, as long as the ambience can be understood as an integrated part into the everyday contemporary experience. The study gives priority to the narratives and the semantics of the field, exploring the imaginary which is dealt there. Moreover, blogs, as mat-blogs, suggest other scenarios for practicing yogin, since the tradition of Yoga is comprised of plastic form in time and, therefore, in permanent recovery from the idiosyncrasies of each practitioner. What is there performed, maybe weaves a kind of religious nomos, a bias of analysis due to Peter Berger (1985), suggesting a textual mat to meditate the pathway and put it in dialogue with the blog reader. This dossal blog can compose a network of affinities that build landmarks of location from Yoga, to dwell there and talk to a pluralistic religious universe that invites experimentation. In this movement, the religious self-identification takes only a trend limit, since it suggests being in an electronic yogin covenant, another bias of analysis, now from Philippe Lejeune (2008), because what makes sense for one has to be confirmed, or endorsed by any means by another one, and for this conversation to happen, there are proper protocols and seals to covenant.

No. of bitstreams: 1 dissetacao_esdras_peixoto.pdf: 748933 bytes, checksum: 7fcb8b33d2598b452a4dfdd2b1bac849 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-10-06 / This dissertation attempts to investigate the discontinuities and continuities in the theology, mentality and world-vision of Brazilian pentecostals. To that end it has as its special object of study the musical repertoire of the pentecostal communities, evaluating the internal evolution of that which is sung in the worship services and other meetings. Music is the principal means by which the behavior of the faithful is moulded. Since it is a product derived from the surrounding culture, and so not completely controlled by the composer, pentecostal hymnology both reflects and inculcates symbols which direct the universe which its followers inhabit. Gilbert Durand's book, The Theory of the Imaginary, provides the hermeneutical basis for our interpretation of the symbolic as present in the hymn-books both of classic pentecostalism and of post-pentecostalism, and we apply Durand's methodology to the images present in the pentecostal hymns. As to its epistemology, this study is both transdisciplinary and comprehensive, as well as taking into account current sociological trends present in what is known as post-modernity / O presente trabalho procura investigar as rupturas e continuidades na teologia, mentalidade e visão de mundo dos pentecostais brasileiros.

The union of opposites in the writing of Marguerite Duras : a desperate attempt to the extreme failure : Proposition of archetypal analysis of the Durassian imaginary

Tasselli, Vincent 21 May 2019 (has links)
Marguerite Duras’s writing is deeply mythical; her imaginary world is rooted in the most fundamental and primitive patterns of the human psyche. She reorganizes it in the inner crucible of her creation, thus creating multifaceted works, simultaneously extremely innovative and filled with archaic images that the author uses faithfully, rewrites, twists or completely flips over. In between literary and phenomenological exegesis (like Gaston Bachelard’s hermeneutics), anthropology (Mircea Eliade’s works), Gilbert Durand’s mythodology and Carl Gustav Jung and Marie-Louise von Franz’s depth psychology, we offer a precise study, as thorough as possible, of the archetypes scattered throughout Marguerite Duras’s imaginary world as well as their symbolical echo in her texts and filmography. This analysis will enable us to present a new interpretation of her writing with efficient and effective tools. Book after book, we will spot the symbols and confront them with as many cultural rituals, thoughts and tales as possible in order to grasp their meaning in each of her works. If Marguerite Duras’s quest can be considered as a desperate attempt to bring together opposites and absorb any antagonisms, her style and her artistic world gradually turn to a radical call for complete destruction that deeply changes the inner vision and the nature of her writing. Through the careful analysis of the images in a double corpus (the Indian cycle then the political trilogy), we wish to let these founding images reach the surface, examine their meaning while underlining their crucial modifications during the author’s production in literature, theatre and cinema.

Os outros Rios de Janeiro: estudo sociológico sobre o imaginário dos arquitetos no contexto de preparação dos Jogos Olímpicos de 2016 / The other Rios de Janeiro: a sociological study on the imaginary of architects within the arrangements for the 2016 Olympic Games

Moura, Heitor Vianna 03 December 2015 (has links)
Considering the arrangements for the 2016 Olympic Games, where part of the physical space of the city of Rio de Janeiro is redesigned by architectural and urban interventions, this study is concerned with the performance of a very specific character: the architect. More specifically, I explore the conception of architects about the city within the above-mentioned context, bringing to light images of past, present and future of this city. The theoretical purpose herein is to sociologically understand the (Lefebvrean) imaginary of architects about Rio, seeking evidence of the social basis underlying the representations mediated by such imaginary. For that purpose, the architectural and urban designs that won the Porto Olímpico Contest (Concurso Porto Olímpico) and the Olympic Golf Course Clubhouse Contest (Concurso Sede do Campo Olímpico de Golfe) are subject to a document analysis. In addition, their respective authors and co-authors were also interviewed. As a result, such approach enabled discovering an imaginary that seems to be sustained either by images of empirically existing spaces (neighborhoods and public sites of Rio and foreign cities) or images that do not find their places in the empirically existing world. This imaginary revealed representations of the city that can be associated with two dimensions of the social life of these architects: their life experience in Rio de Janeiro and other cities, and their academic background. Theoretically guided by the concepts of Henri Lefebvre on the production of space and its representations, this study aims to extend the interpretative possibilities of the conceptual framework of the French sociologist, while giving voice to architects in Brazilian urban studies, a field where such subjects are rarely seen as protagonists.

Análisis de la influencia del hedonismo en centennials mediante la construcción de personajes retratado por la serie sex education / Analysis of the influence of hedonism on centennials through the construction of characters portrayed by the Sex Education series

Roca Yucra, Carla Pierina 10 June 2020 (has links)
Hedonism and Centennials are two words that converge to create an actuality in which sex has been trivialized and diverse new forms of communication have been created based on fixed characteristics of today's adolescents. This work aims to show the manifestation of hedonism in the construction of the Centennial characters, portrayed by the Sex Education series, and justified on the basis of the social imaginary of characters and their evolution. In this sense, the specific objectives are, firstly, the identification of the centennial characters and their relationship with hedonism; secondly, the identification of the character's construction with respect to its identity and context. The research provides different perspectives on the presence of hedonism in the new generation and the effects it generates in their social relations and their imaginary world. Five out of eight chapters of the first season of the Sex education series are analysed, chosen according to the criteria studied, such as the use of stereotypes for the construction of characters and the evolution of characters according to the evolutionary process and their relationship with a sexual problem. / Trabajo de investigación

Projets urbains et imaginaires de la mobilité, les nouveaux récits de la fabrique métropolitaine : le cas du mégaprojet Bordeaux Euratlantique / Urban projects and imaginaries of mobility, new narrativization of metropolitan manufacturing : The case of Bordeaux Euratlantique megaproject

Ambal, Julie 07 November 2019 (has links)
The mobility of men and women is a major issue in the manufacturing of contemporary territories. Long linked to technical issues and to the efficiency of public and individual transport, it becomes the basis for a redefinition of social and spatial practices in a context of metropolisation and shared values on the protection of the environment. In local public policies and urban projects, the organization of mobility, technical systems and services is a key element in the national and international attractiveness of cities to populations and businesses. It is also the significant support for daily change in lifestyles and aspirations. Our purpose is to question the place it holds in the imaginations of urban projects expressed in their narrative, formulated by the tools of urban marketing and storytelling. Our main hypothesis is that there is a dialectic between the imaginary of mobility, individual and collective, in urban projects; dialectic that accompanies the emergence of new ways of moving and the abandonment of models marked among others using the automobile. The innovative narrativization and unfolding of imaginaries are captured through a case study, Bordeaux Euratlantique megaproject, a new stage in the transformation of the Bordeaux metropolis. Operation of National Interest, led by an ad hoc project management, is an experimental laboratory that foreshadows the mobility of tomorrow and reconfigures the imaginary. There is the idea of speed (hypermobility, connection, network) and slowness (proximity and search for energy sobriety), a combination supported by experts and some of the inhabitants. The project also reveals individual imaginaries, gradually sedimented by the practices and experiences of each, that we qualify in the form of four figures, "opportunistic", "optimized", "smart", "virtuous": they embody the tendencies contemporary mobility. In our opinion, the interweaving of these imaginaries offers an original angle of apprehension of urban manufacturing, emphasizing the importance of representations and discourses to chart the future of cities. From a methodological point of view, our thesis mobilizes a variety of qualitative methods: collective interviews, individual interviews, press reviews, documentary, figurative and archival analysis, direct observations of project sites; participation in consultation meetings. Our demonstration is organized in three parts. The first synthesizes a state of the art that frames our theme and refines our analytical choices. The reading of a multidisciplinary literature combines sociology, political science, urbanism, geography and landscape, to show the value of the concept of urban project and the idea of narrative centered on the theme of mobility. We specify our analysis grid based on a discussion of the notion of imaginary. In the second part, we analyze the Bordeaux experience and the Euratlantique megaproject, which brings a renewed approach to mobility. In the third part, we confront imaginary individual and collective work in the urban project to grasp the complex dynamic of the change of the imaginary. We detail in appendices the survey devices; the iconographic corpus and we situate projects and operations mentioned via cartographic documents.

Forsake Thy Art, Forsake Thyself : A Lacanian Reading of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray

Svensson, Andreas January 2020 (has links)
This essay argues, with the help of Lacanian psychoanalysis, that Dorian Gray, the protagonist in Oscar Wilde’s novel, fails to abide by the rules governed by the culture of society. It is argued that Lacan’s theories about the mirror stage develop Dorian’s character and his realizations of his true self as part of the culture which shapes him. The mirror is represented by the four characters Basil Hallward, Lord Henry Wotton, Sibyl Vane, and Sibyl’s brother James. Basil, Henry, and Sibyl are all representations of different aspects of the mirror explained by Lacan’s theories, and these three characters help Dorian realize his true identity and self.
