With this purpose, in the first part of this work we will develop a systematic exposition of the contemporary knowledge about Gnosticism, giving special attention to the body and mind. In the second part we will discuss the influences of Gnosticism upon the writings of C. G. Jung, as well as the adequacy of the expression Jungian Gnosis, discussing about its translation into the Jungian notions of body and mind. Finally, we will examine the supposed religious character of the Jungian theory and the possibilities to consider it a heretical doctrine / Com este trabalho pretendemos mostrar a conexão existente entre as noções junguianas de corpo e mente com suas correspondentes no gnosticismo. Com este objetivo, na primeira parte do trabalho faremos uma exposição sistemática sobre o conhecimento que se tem atualmente do gnosticismo, dando uma especial atenção ao corpo e a mente. Na segunda parte, com base no exposto na Parte I, discutiremos sobre as influências do gnosticismo nos escritos de C. G. Jung e a adequação da expressão gnose junguiana, discorrendo sobre como isso se traduz nas noções junguianas de corpo e mente. Finalmente, examinaremos o suposto caráter religioso da teoria Junguiana e as possibilidades de considerá-la uma doutrina herética

O presente trabalho visa a relatar a experiência clínica que venho desenvolvendo institucionalmente, há mais de cinco anos, inicialmente no atendimento a pacientes considerados como psicóticos e neuróticos graves e, posteriormente, a pessoas que receberam outros diagnósticos psicopatológicos por meio do uso de arranjos florais com flores vivas. Proponho-me, ainda, a articular esta narrativa ao pensamento de Nise da Silveira, Donald Woods Winnicott e Mokiti Okada, o que demandou o resgate de outros antepassados intelectuais- Jung, Laing e Basaglia. A meu ver, tais autores desenvolveram obras singulares e alicerçadas em suas próprias experiências, sendo possível, contudo, estabelecer entre elas certa sintonia, a qual tem me possibilitado refletir sobre minha clínica. Meu intuito é, assim demonstrar que essa prática institucional é potencialmente mutativa, através de um procedimento dialógico-reflexivo contínuo entre minha experiência clínica pessoal e as contribuições dos autores citados / This research has the objective of relating the clinical experience that I have been developing institutionally for over five years, at first attending patients considered as psychotic and neurotic and, later on, people who received other phsycopatologic diagnosis by the use of floral arrangements with living flowers. I also propose to articulate this relate to the Nise da Silveiras, Donald Winnicotts and Mokiti Okadas thinking and this demanded the remembers of others intelectual ancestors - Jung, Laing and Basaglia. By my view, these authors developed singular works, based on their own experiences. Its possible otherwise to establish between them some sintony which has pen-nitted me to think over my clinics. Therefore, a reading relationship emerges. It was before based on a static visual and textual content and became innovative ways of the digital magazines universe, characterized by the incorporation of dynamic elements such as audio, video and interactive infographics. The connection with the reader is multiplied in a multisensory experience that unites the vision, hearing, and the unprecedented tactile experience of handling information on touch screens of mobile devices. On this approach, the digital magazine reaches diverse audiences that can be separated by different editorial proposals, defining the magazine profile. The graphical design elements are important to shape the editorial identity. In this alignment, the study attempts to identify the relational pattern of the design elements and how they contribute to the construction of the visual identity in digital magazines. The operationalization of the specific objectives adopted was the methodological approach of qualitative research, with exploratory and descriptive-analytical character and theoretical and practical basis. For the record: 1) conceptual dialogue between Design and the Jungian Symbolic Pedagogy, featuring the interdisciplinary proposal; 2) selection of the digital magazines; 3) case study based on the description of design elements in digital consumer magazines, study scope; 4) archetypal analysis to identify the relational pattern of the graphic elements in the design composition of digital consumer magazines; and, 5) considerations of the analysis about the objects of the searched unit. As a conclusion of this thesis, it is deduced that the relational pattern of the design elements in digital consumer magazines, limited to this research, presents an editorial profile that adheres to the characteristics of matriarchal, patriarchal and otherness archetypal patterns. As a contribution, the interdisciplinarity undertaken allows to unveil the windows of possibilities for future researches, incorporating new concepts and new relationships between graphical elements and archetypal patterns, enabling the expansion of the theoretical and practical basis in the Design area. / O advento da plataforma digital fez surgir uma nova forma de narrativa no campo da comunicação. Por conseguinte, emerge uma relação de leitura, antes baseada no conteúdo visual e textual estático, para formas inovadoras do universo de revistas digitais, caracterizado pela incorporação de elementos dinâmicos como áudios, vídeos e infográficos interativos. As relações com o leitor se multiplicam em uma experiência multissensorial, que une a visão, a audição, mais a inédita experiência tátil de manusear informações nas telas de dispositivos móveis sensíveis ao toque. Nesse enfoque, a revista digital atinge públicos variados, que podem ser separados por diferentes propostas editoriais, definindo o perfil da revista. Assume importância os elementos gráficos do design na formação da identidade editorial. Nesse alinhamento, a pesquisa objetiva identificar o padrão relacional dos elementos do design e como os mesmos contribuem para a construção da identidade visual em revistas digitais. Na operacionalização dos objetivos específicos, adota-se como procedimento metodológico a investigação qualitativa, de caráter exploratório e descritivo-analítico, de base referencial teórico-prática a saber: diálogo conceitual entre o Design e a Pedagogia Simbólica Junguiana, caracterizando a proposta interdisciplinar; seleção das revistas digitais; estudo de caso pautado na descrição dos elementos do design de revistas digitais de consumo, escopo de estudo; análise arquetípica visando identificar o padrão relacional dos elementos gráficos na composição do design em revistas digitais de consumo; e, considerações da análise dos objetos da unidade pesquisada. Como conclusão desta dissertação, infere-se que o padrão relacional dos elementos do design em revistas digitais de consumo, circunscritas a esta pesquisa, apresentam um perfil editorial que adere às características dos padrões arquetípicos matriarcais, patriarcais e de alteridade. Como contributo, a interdisciplinaridade empreendida, permite descortinar janelas de possibilidades para pesquisas futuras, incorporando novos conceitos e novas relações entre os elementos gráficos e os padrões arquétipos, possibilitando a ampliação da base teórica e prática na grande área do Design.

Although Jung's publications contain references to a great number of authors who wrote about the subject, some of them ended up becoming the main characters used by Jung to voice his psychological understanding of alchemy, as well as in the connections found between lab work and Analytical Psychology. Dorn's studies, The Speculative Philosophy and The Meditative Philosophy in special, were of great relevance when Jung defended his thesis about the role of the unconscious process during the alchemical opus. Moreover, the alchemist work became important for Jung's analysis concerning the process of matter transformation – stating that it would actually be the projection of an inner psychological development. Regarding Jung's last work on alchemy, the beliefs found in Dorn's treaty were then used to add the final alchemical shape to one of his most important concepts: the individuation process. With this goal in mind, we approached alchemy at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th as the starting point for this paper, contextualizing Jung's understanding and analyzing the methodology he used in his own studies. Part of this paper is also dedicated to a brief analysis of Gerhard Dorn's work by using the work of some historians of science as our reference. We also sought after themes within Jung's publications in which the alchemist would have used as a way to ground his Jungian hypothesis, in special the importance Jung gives him by claiming Dorn to be one of the first to study the process of individuation. At last, the final chapter is dedicated to the analysis of how Dorn's ideas worked in the constitution of this final concept / A presente pesquisa foi desenvolvida no âmbito da História da Ciência, a partir da hipótese que a obra de Gerhard Dorn (1530/35-1584) teria desempenhado importante papel na fundamentação de conceitos centrais sobre a interpretação de Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) da alquimia. Embora nas publicações de Jung encontremos referência ao trabalho de inúmeros autores que trataram da alquimia, alguns deles acabaram por figurar como personagens principais, sendo utilizados por Jung para dar voz a sua interpretação psicológica da alquimia, assim como nas relações que acabou por estabelecer entre o trabalho de laboratório e a psicologia analítica. Os estudos de Dorn, em especial os tratados A Filosofia Especulativa e A Meditativa Filosofia foram de grande relevância na defesa de Jung de suas teses sobre o papel dos processos inconscientes durante o opus alquímico. Em especial, a obra do alquimista tornou-se importante para a análise de Jung de que o processo de transformação da matéria seria, na verdade, a projeção de um desenvolvimento psicológico interior. Ainda, na última obra de Jung sobre a alquimia, noções contidas nos tratados de Dorn foram então utilizadas para dar os contornos alquímicos finais a um de seus mais importantes conceitos, o processo de individuação. Partindo deste objetivo iniciamos este estudo a partir dos debates sobre a alquimia no final do século XIX e inicio do século XX, situando a interpretação junguiana dentro deste contexto e analisando a metodologia aplicada por Jung em seus estudos. Também dedicamos parte deste trabalho a uma breve análise sobre a obra de Gerhard Dorn, tendo como referencial o trabalho de historiadores da ciência. Ainda, buscamos nas publicações de Jung os temas, nos quais, o alquimista teria sido utilizado como forma de fundamentação das hipóteses junguianas, destacando o papel que Jung lhe atribui como um dos precursores nos estudos sobre o processo de individuação. Such research has been performed in a city located in the countryside of São Paulo and its integrants, 22 female athletes, all around 21 years old, participating in sports (volleyball, handball and judo). The qualitative method based on eight meetings on Art Therapy. The work was analyzed in the light of Jungian Psychology. The Instruments used were the following: socio demographic questionnaire, tipology assessment, Art Therapy process and final assessment questionnaire (closing). The results revealed Art Therapy recourses used favored development and improvement of important psychology abilities towards the athlete as well as being a contribution to the possibility of a balanced relationship between opposing parts cohabitating in a competitive environment recognizing potentials and finding satisfaction and pleasure in such a path fulfilled of psychological and sports growth / O presente trabalho teve por objetivo compreender o processo da Arteterapia como um recurso na preparação psicológica de atletas a partir do referencial teórico junguiano. Esta pesquisa foi realizada em uma cidade do interior de São Paulo com 22 atletas do sexo feminino pertencentes a 3 modalidades esportivas (voleibol, handebol e judô) com uma média de 21 anos de idade. Foi utilizado o método qualitativo, baseado em oito encontros de Arteterapia analisados à luz da Psicologia Junguiana. Os instrumentos utilizados foram: questionário sociodemográfico e esportivo, questionário de avaliação tipológica, o processo de Arteterapia e o questionário de avaliação (fechamento). Os resultados revelaram que os recursos arteterapêuticos utilizados favoreceram o desenvolvimento e o aperfeiçoamento de habilidades psicológicas importantes ao atleta, bem como contribuíram com a possibilidade de uma relação harmoniosa entre os opostos vivenciados no ambiente competitivo reconhecendo potenciais, encontrando satisfação e prazer neste caminho de crescimento psicológico e esportivo

Based in Jungian Psychosomatic Model of diseases, this paper uses the method of qualitative and quantitative research, through the application of semi-structured interviews and The Medical Outcomes Study 36-item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) before and after the participants undergo a spiritual healing treatment. The sample consists of thirtythree participants with various diseases, 34-81 years, of different religions, frequenters of a spiritist center of the city of São Paulo. The interview results showed that for the majority of the sample the treatment was effective because the respondents had a perception of improvement in their health status, reported a decrease in symptoms, acquired some kind of learning and changed their relationship with the disease itself. This way faith proved to be an important element of healing. For a minority of the sample, there has been little improvement in their perception of physical symptoms. However, they obtained psychological and spiritual gains. When comparing the average results of the participants in the first and second application of the SF-36, there was significant improvement in the mental component summary and in the following domains of quality of life: role-physical, bodily pain, general health, vitality, social functioning, role-emotional and mental health. The differences between the outcomes of the first and second application of the SF-36 of physical functioning and the physical component summary were not statistically significant / Este trabalho tem como objetivo verificar se a Terapia Complementar Espírita (TCE) promove melhora na qualidade de vida e na percepção de saúde do paciente segundo seu autorrelato. Fundamentada no Modelo Psicossomático Junguiano de doenças, esta dissertação utiliza o método qualitativo e quantitativo de pesquisa, através da aplicação de entrevistas e do Instrumento Genérico de Avaliação de Qualidade de Vida em Saúde (questionário SF-36) antes e depois dos participantes se submeterem a um tratamento de cura espiritual. A amostra é composta por trinta e três sujeitos com enfermidades diversas, de 34 a 81 anos, de distintas religiões, frequentadores de um centro espírita da cidade de São Paulo. Os resultados das entrevistas indicaram que para a maioria da amostra o tratamento foi eficaz, pois os entrevistados obtiveram uma percepção de melhora no estado de saúde, observaram uma diminuição dos sintomas apresentados, adquiriram algum tipo de aprendizado e modificaram a relação com a própria doença. A fé se mostrou assim um importante elemento de cura. Para uma minoria, houve percepção de pouca melhora nos sintomas físicos. Contudo, obtiveram ganhos de ordem psicológica e espiritual. Ao comparar as médias dos resultados dos participantes obtidos na primeira e na segunda aplicação do questionário, observaram-se resultados de melhora significativa no sumário de componentes mentais e nos seguintes domínios de qualidade de vida: aspectos físicos, dor, aspecto geral de saúde, vitalidade, aspectos sociais, aspectos emocionais, saúde mental. A diferença entre as médias da capacidade funcional e no sumário de componentes físicos não foi estatisticamente significativa

No. of bitstreams: 1 INTERVENCAO LUDICO SIMBOLICA JUNTO A PORTADORES DE DISPEPSIA FUNCIONAL.pdf: 3915367 bytes, checksum: a67792e79857c0f3571ce6fd8acb19a6 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-03-30 / This study focuses on ludic-symbolic group intervention involving patients with functional dyspepsia (FD), a gastrointestinal disorder characterized by pain or discomfort on the upper abdomen area without identifiable cause by conventional diagnostic means. The present study aims to analyze the stress level of FD patients and connect it to the ludic-symbolic group intervention data. This is an exploratory-descriptive qualitative research.The group intervention uses active imagination techniques and the subjects stress level is evaluated with LIPP Adults Stress Symptoms Inventory (ISSL). The group consists of twelve members, mostly women; half of the participants are aged between 20 and 50 and the rest is older. Analysis of interview data shows that all group members have associated the beginning of their symptoms to emotional conflicts, focalizing scenes and situations as stressing factors that have triggered their FD. The symbolic analysis of the group interventions is based on Carl Gustav Jung s analytical psychology. Results show that the participants presented reduction of FD symptoms and of stress levels: initially, eight subjects were at the resistance stage, one at the alert stage and three of them presented no stress; by the end of the ludic-symbolic group intervention, three subjects were at the resistance stage, one remained at the alert stage and eight presented no stress. This transformation occurred after the symptoms regarded as symbols of emotions and feelings through symbolic play-action, and after having them integrated into consciousness by making psychic connections between mind and body to recognize actions taken or to be taken to avoid confrontations accelerate and crystallize symptoms of functional dyspepsia, from the standpoint of analytical psychology. / O presente estudo aborda uma intervenção grupal lúdico-simbólica junto a portadores de dispepsia funcional (DF), um distúrbio gastrointestinal caracterizado por sintomas como dor ou desconforto na região superior do abdômen, sem causa orgânica. Tem como objetivo intervir de forma grupal lúdicosimbólica junto ao portador de DF; analisar o nível de estresse dessa população e relacionar os dados da intervenção frente o nível de estresse. Trata-se de pesquisa exploratório-descritiva de caráter qualitativo. A intervenção grupal utiliza-se de técnicas de imaginação e pensamento dirigido; o nível de stress é avaliado através do Inventário de Sintomas de Stress para adultos de LIPP (ISSL). Os participantes do grupo são 12, predominantemente do sexo feminino, sendo a metade entre 20 e 50 anos e os demais, acima. Através da análise de conteúdo dos dados da entrevista dirigida pôde-se observar que todos fizeram uma associação do aparecimento dos sintomas a conflitos emocionais, focalizando cenas e situações como fatores estressores e desencadeadores da dispepsia funcional. A análise simbólica das intervenções grupais tem como base teórica a psicologia analítica de Carl Gustav Jung. Os resultados demonstraram que os participantes da intervenção grupal apresentaram redução dos sintomas da dispepsia funcional e do nível de estresse, sendo que, no início oito participantes encontravam-se na fase de resistência; um na de alerta e três sem estresse e, ao final, três se encontram na fase de resistência, um permanece na fase alerta e oito sem estresse. Essa transformação ocorreu após terem considerado os sintomas como símbolos de emoções e sentimentos através das intervenções lúdico-simbólicas, e após tê-los integrados à consciência ao fazerem conexões psíquicas entre mente e corpo para reconhecerem atitudes tomadas ou a tomar e agilizar enfrentamentos para não cristalizar sintomas da dispepsia funcional, do ponto de vista da psicologia analítica.

The concept of Psychic Energy holds a very important position in the field of Psychoanalysis, particularly within the theories of Sigmund Freud. These ideas, including the notion of a constancy of excitation, or the ‘pleasure principle’, as well as energy transfer and ‘cathexis’, are important not only historically in terms of the subsequent development of Psychoanalytic theory, but also remain a core conceptual assumption of a number of concepts in contemporary use. However, the central ideas related to psychic energy have undergone little substantial revision or development since the end of Freud’s career, despite a number of compelling critiques that call into question the central definitions and assumptions of these concepts, particularly the principles defining their governance. Grobbelaar (1989) has suggested that a number of problems within Psychoanalytic theory can be powerfully addressed through recourse to central propositions from the field of systems theory, and the case is made in the present thesis that some of the core problems with the energic theory may indeed be the result of a pre-systems epistemology. The present study proposes that psychic energy be defined as recursively constituted through three levels of the human system (inorganic, organic and informational), and that the core principles of regulation at the informational level is not constancy, or pleasure, but rather the necessity of maintaining organisation. In line with this proposition, the study reviews a number of theoretical propositions from systems theory and cybernetics (including the notions of energy defined as ‘information’ or ‘free energy’) and how they may be usefully deployed as principles of organisation of psychic energy within the psychoanalytic framework. Examples of how these principles may be used to explain Freud’s core observations of ego functioning are presented as well. / Psychology / Ph. D. (Psychology)

Work has represented an important factor in the construction of contemporary women’s identity, often playing a key role in their daily life. The aim of this dissertation was to weave a Jungian approach of the feminine and of women and investigate how these relate within the scope of the labor market, a highly important social sector in contemporary life. To this end, a qualitative research design was adopted. Analytical psychology was used as the theoretical framework. Thus, the ontological perspective that grounds this study is based on the assumption that psychic reality is expressed through images and symbols. Data analysis was conducted through a symbolic understanding of the content of the speech and drawings of seven women inserted in the labor market in leadership positions, between 28 and 40 years old, results which were correlated with Jungian theory. Some central ideas were formulated as result of the analysis: the feminine appears in the discourse of the participants as a group of aspects, such as: caregiving, sixth sense, and the ability to multitask. However, other characteristics normally associated with the masculine were cited as feminine, such as planning. Many conflicts and much suffering that emerged from the workplace such as moral and sexual harassment, and discrimination, were strongly associated by the women with Brazilian culture; motherhood was presented as a conflict-introducing element in relation to a women’s professional identity. On telling their stories, they contributed to the construction of the knowledge lapidated here in this study. They pointed to the possibility of realizing themselves as women in the context of aspects considered masculine, presented new configurations of expressions of what they call “feminine,” and indicated the need to be seen as having potential to achieve under any circumstance. Analytical psychology and the clinical context, linked to profession’s ethical commitment, enables and fosters fertile ground for new configurations and demands to be embraced, reflected about, cared for and transformed into action in the world, by means of those who appropriate these increasingly wide-reaching changes / As mulheres há muito lutam por reconhecimento, seja dentro de seus lares ou em outros diversos âmbitos da sociedade, como na representatividade política ou no mercado de trabalho, por exemplo. O trabalho caracteriza-se como fator importante na constituição de identidade das mulheres contemporâneas, muitas vezes ocupando um espaço central na vida cotidiana destas. A pesquisa teve como objetivo uma compreensão junguiana do feminino e da mulher, bem como essas se relacionam no âmbito do mercado de trabalho, seguimento social que se caracteriza como fator de grande importância nas vidas contemporâneas. Para tanto, o método utilizado foi o qualitativo de pesquisa. O referencial teórico é o da psicologia analítica, de forma que a perspectiva ontológica que subsidia esta pesquisa parte do pressuposto de que a realidade psíquica se expressa por meio de imagens e símbolos. A análise se deu por meio de uma compreensão simbólica do conteúdo das falas e desenhos de sete mulheres inseridas no mercado de trabalho em cargos de liderança, de 28 a 40 anos, articulando tais achados com a teoria junguiana. Chegou-se à formulação de algumas ideias centrais como resultados da análise: o feminino aparece no discurso das participante na qualidade de conjunto de aspectos como, por exemplo, cuidado, sexto sentido e habilidade de fazer diversas coisas ao mesmo tempo. Entretanto, outras características normalmente associadas ao masculino foram citadas como femininas, como por exemplo o planejamento; as mulheres associam muitos conflitos e sofrimentos advindos do ambiente de trabalho como o assédio moral e sexual e a discriminação, ao fato de que os aspectos chamados de femininos são fortemente associados à mulher na nossa cultura; e a maternidade é apresentada como geradora de conflito quando em relação à identidade de mulher profissional. Contando suas histórias, contribuíram para a construção do conhecimento aqui lapidado. Evidenciaram a possiblidade de realizar-se como mulheres no domínio dos aspectos considerados masculinos, apresentaram novas configurações de expressão do que chamam de feminino e apontaram para a necessidade de serem vistas com potencial de realização sob qualquer aspecto. A psicologia analítica e o contexto clínico, atrelados a uma atitude de compromisso ético que a profissão pressupõe, permitem e promovem terreno fértil para que as novas configurações e demandas sejam abarcadas, pensadas, cuidadas e transformadas em ação no mundo, por meio daqueles que se apropriam de tais mudanças cada vez mais amplas
