[en] INTELLECTUAL ARTISTS AND CONTEMPORARY CONVERSATIONS ABOUT LANGUAGE / [pt] INTELECTUAIS-ARTISTAS E AS CONVERSAÇÕES CONTEMPORÂNEAS ACERCA DA LINGUAGEM

MARIA CRISTINA DO REGO MONTEIRO BOMFIM 13 December 2004 (has links)
[en] The creative writing of the intellectual artists Roberto Corrêa dos Santos and Teixeira Coelho, unclassifiable according to the usual parameters of academic writing in literature, points to other spaces within current practices in literary criticism. Such writing motivates a study in which redescriptions of the discourse produced by literary criticism in the past two decades are compared with redescriptions of critical positioning produced in the field of visual art. The literary productions of Roberto Corrêa dos Santos and Teixeira Coelho, seen as the creation of new instruments, are found to echo the experiences of visuality in contemporary art, in which essentialism, representationalism and foundationism are questioned both by critics and artists. The critical philosophical radicalism of neopragmatism, which addresses such issues and is scarcely represented in Brazilian academic culture, is included in the comprehensive dialogue offered in this dissertation, with a view to a sharp widening of perspectives.

Vontade : o métron da hýbris da história da metafísica

Santos, Fábio Candido dos 13 February 2015 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The proposal expressed by this work is the defense of the thesis that metaphysics is originally the result of a resentment of the will with the finite and unpredictable mode of Being of life, making it impossible to control and rule the existence and whose summit takes place with the advent of modern philosophy of Descartes and of the cogito as absolute foundation of the reality of the real. Nietzsche identifies this scenario as originating from a change in the essence of the Greco-Roman man who, in modern times, shall be characterized by the rejection of any kind of transcendence to establish himself as the principle and cause of the real. Nietzsche, the Greek world enthusiast, sees this supposed ontological change as establishment of hubris, the Hellenic notion of h bris whose primary sense points to break the man's limit m tron, man's Being - and that is an attempt to equalize or exceed divinity transcendence. In modernity, the h bris settles ontologically in man when the opening of the cogito as an operation of will promotes the death of God. In fact, kill the transcendence and take his place is wanting to be ground when, in fact, is only a means to the ground Being, the truth appear, founding, through man, all that is. Heidegger, another Greek world enthusiast, agrees with Nietzsche, but sees the h bris of the phenomenon more broadly, watching his character history and its connection to what he called a history of Being and its manifestation as metaphysics. The author of Being and Time notes that the will which entails the modern h bris has a Greek origin, more precisely at the time of transition from the pre- Socratic philosophy and metaphysics of Plato and Aristotle. That\'s where Heidegger says the change of attitude in the Being of man identified by Nietzsche in modernity takes shape. The birth of metaphysics is the end of ontological agreement between man and ph sis Being for the establishment of Eros for knowledge, or philosophy. This desire is the will that will establish the will which will promote the death of God and the establishment of man as the real measure, ie, the h bris of modern man. Heidegger finds the origin of this event and its entire historical development the nihilism that Nietzsche saw only in modernity. As a result of crystallization of contemporary rampant posture of man, Heidegger points out the appearance of technique and its ambiguous nature, which can be both a threat to the Being of man to equalize the way in which being is shown from it as a possibility of "new beginning" for humanity. The itinerary, mediated by Heidegger and Nietzsche, of the establishment of the ancient metaphysics as principle of h bris to its heyday in modernity as the death of God, and its unfolding as a technique, it is the task of the following work.

Vilas Bôas, João Paulo Simões 01 June 2016 (has links)
Sectarian violence and the fanatical discourses of intolerance and hatred propagated by fundamentalists of various religions represent serious dilemmas for modern democracies around the world. By insisting on the obstinate defense of their truths against secular principles and institutions, fundamentalisms spare no efforts in order to impose their particular practices and values to the rest of the world. Moreover, the refusal of such groups to open themselves to dialogue and peaceful negotiation with non-fundamentalists leaves few options for addressing this problem, and the use of violence has historically proved to be a catastrophic alternative because, instead of eliminating or mitigating the destructive fury of fundamentalists, aggression ends up strengthening the willingness for martyrdom among these fanatics, which further intensifies the problem. However, insofar as they recognize that the end of modernity brought the abandonment of the traditional values and religious truths of old, fundamentalist discourses seem to talk directly with the philosophical reflections of Friedrich Nietzsche, particularly in relation to the diagnosis formulated by the philosopher about a global phenomenon of devaluation of the traditional canons of truth and value, both of which were inherited from the Socratic-platonic-Christian thought. Gathered around the term nihilism, such reflections are a topic of fundamental importance in the work of this German philosopher, being present in his writings from about 1880 to his last works. In addition to simply establish the existence of a phenomenon that was already visible since the middle of the second half of the nineteenth century, Nietzsche also reflects upon the physiopsychological consequences of the collapse of this set of ethical, political, metaphysical and epistemological principles that hitherto represented the main source of support, of certainty and security to the Western civilization. Insecurity, fear and disorientation towards nihilism would be, according to the philosopher, the result of a deep psychic and instinctual disturbance towards the disintegration of the foundations that once guaranteed the truth and security for the world, which in turn, would result directly from the fact that most of humanity has come to be deliberately educated to link the meaning of existence to something outside of life itself. In light of these considerations, this research aims to develop an interpretive hypothesis that starts from the perspective opened up by the reflections of Friedrich Nietzsche about nihilism in order to clarify how and if it would be possible to understand the emergence of different modalities of religious fundamentalisms throughout the twentieth century as forms of reaction against the deepening of the crisis of values through which passes the West.

Labirintos do nada: a crítica de Nietzsche ao niilismo de Schopenhauer / Nothing\' s labyrinth: Nietzsche\'s critic to the Schopenhauer\' s Nihilism

Salviano, Jarlee Oliveira Silva 12 March 2007 (has links)
Arthur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche\'s philosophies of Will present two contrary positions in relation to the sense of life. In both cases life should be explained as an expression of blind and irrational force, becoming a synonym of pain and suffering - nevertheless, the reaction of each in the face of this philosophic finding of the XIX century, places them in opposing paths. In the Schopenhaueran commendation to the denial of will, of self-denying escape in the direction of Nothing, Nietzsche finds the opposite to his philosophy, passive nihilism against which he proposes active nihilism of the affirmation of the Eternal return.

Vida como vontade de poder: perspectivismo, metafísica e niilismo no pensamento de Nietzsche / Life as will to power

Rebeca Furtado de Melo 23 March 2011 (has links)
This dissertation intends to describe, in its specificity, the concept of will to power in Nietzsche's thought, showing how the metaphysics can be understood from this thought. From the dialogue between Nietzsche and thinkers of the tradition, this study intends to analyze the concept of metaphysics and the historical moment called the "death of God", together with nihilism. In describing the development of Western thought, the text seeks to show why Nietzsche might call the history of metaphysics the will to truth. Therefrom, it reconstructs the fundamental relationship between the notions of truth and knowledge in the nuances of each season of the metaphysical thought, showing how this process culminates in Nietzsche's thought, with the questioning of the value of truth. The other hand, the dissertation aims to show how the death of God and nihilism make possible, in a sense, the emergence of Nietzsche's own philosophy, arguing that the will to power and perspectivism are thoughts made possible by the historical development of metaphysics.

The present dissertation aims to develop an interpretation concerning the conception of body in Nietzsche, taking into account the perspectival bias and instinctive dimension of whole body, as well as the multiplicity of forces inherent in the investigation of the body. In view of that, according to the assimilation of Nietzsche, the notion of body places itself as conducting wire of his lucubrations, especially because the resumption of such a question demonstrates pertinent for thinking about the body in the course of Western thought, since the concept of ancient Greeks, passing the aesthetic Socratism, Platonism and Christian morality to modernity and its reverberations in relation to nihilism process. That said, it is particularly important to provide a critique of the poor understanding of body erected by traditional philosophy, while emphasizing the appropriation of Platonism by Christian morality, which resulted in the depreciation of the body and degeneration of the instincts and most vital bodily impulses, become sick, a fact that contributed of illness tendencies and belittlement of man in modernity. For that, we intend to analyze the notion of body crossed by the established valuations, both from aesthetic, and moral, cultural and philosophical, especially in the texts The Birth of Tragedy, Human Too Human, Beyond Good and Evil, Genealogy of Morals and Thus spoke Zarathustra, basic to place the question of the body in the dimensions that made possible their rise and decay. In this manner, the dissertation this shows that relevant because it allows the deepening on a question that arises latently in the context of Western thought: body notion, taken from the bias proposed by the German philosopher, as a forces field and conflict in modernity.

The research aims to analyze the phylosophical term niilism in Nietzsche’s work, from its origin until its developments in the author’s mature thinking. Understanding the decadence process as a niilist, Nietzsche places Socrates as the first thinker of the decadence, that would be perpetuated until the modernity by cristianism, turning the slave type into the model man. We sketch the manner in which Nietzsche aims to overcome this man, by exceeding the values that cultivate him, looking for a healthier new physiopsychological state for the man. To this end, Nietzsche places the will for power at the center of the transvaluation, and the artists as the more capable of creating something, instead of degrade and submit themselves to the value given by the accepted moral. In modernity the bureaucracy receives emphasis in the public functionalism, what inspires Nietzsche to criticize it as another way of leveling and impoverishing life. Kafka then appears in our work as the synthesis of part that Nietzsche understood in his epoch, his diagnosis of the next two hundred years is illustrated through Kafka’s works, that characterize the man as the being sickened by the values which are impossible for him to live or to carry out. For this all the understanding of the artist’s physiology, according to Nietzsche, gives us a comprehension and interpretation of Kafka’s work for beyond its epoch.

[en] MODERN NIHILISM AND CONSUMMATION OF THE METHAPHYSICS: A HEIDEGGERIAN`S READING OF NIETZSCHE / [pt] NIILISMO MODERNO E CONSUMAÇÃO DA METAFÍSICA: SOBRE A LEITURA HEIDEGGERIANA DE NIETZSCHE

MARIA EDUARDA OLIVEIRA CASTRO 29 November 2013 (has links)
[en] What Martin Heidegger considers nihilism and the consummation of the methaphysics would constitute, according to him, two of the big fundamen-tals of nietzsche s thinking and the modern era. Nietzsche s philosophy reflect the course of metaphysics on its way from the recovery of its greek world essence, as eminently nihilist. This assumes a consummation, a fulfillment os metaphys-ics, but also the unveiling of another beginning based on the meaning of the being. Heidegger develops his concepts according to what he calls Nietzsche s main five titles; they are: will power, eternal return of the same, transvalu-ation of all values, beyond man and the nihilism itself. Becomes inevitable, however, with the deepening of such issues, the discovery that the conclusions about Nietzsche reveal s a lot of the heideggerian s thinking itself, and, going further, ist history of affiliation with the Nazi ideology.
