Josef Štefan Kubíns Sammlung von Volkserzählungen aus dem Riesengebirgsvorland

Udolph, Ludger 23 June 2020 (has links)
In the first quarter of the 20th century, the Czech teacher J. St. Kubín collected far more than 1000 folktales of Czech countrymen, especially in the Giant Mountains. Kubín comprehended the orally passed on folktale as the genuine cultural tradition of ‘unsophisticated’ people. The narrator is the bearer of this tradition, which Kubín defends as autonomous and native against modernism and civic society. Different from Václav Tille, who claimed the literary written origin of folktales, Kubín emphasizes the oral tradition of the folktales. His rich collection shows the internationality of the types of the folktale.

[en] GUARDIANS OF THE CURE: THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HEALERS OF VALE DO PARAÍBA DO SUL FLUMINENSE / [pt] GUARDIÃS DA CURA: O SABER DAS BENZEDEIRAS DO VALE DO PARAÍBA DO SUL FLUMINENSE

NELSON ANTONIO PINHO SANTOS 15 June 2021 (has links)
[en] The dissertation Guardians of the cure: the knowledge of the healers of Vale do Paraíba do Sul Fluminense has as main objective to reflect on the oral practices and traditions of healers in the region of Vale do Paraíba do Sul Fluminense, having its locus in the city of Valença, RJ. First, a brief history of the region is proposed. Marked by coffee production during the imperial period, the present work raises the analysis of whatwould be a traditional Valencian identity; of a glorious; past. Then, the focus passes to the narratives about healing traditions and articulations of forces in the Quilombo São José da Serra territory, also located in the region. With the expanded concept of performance as a theoretical tool, the analysis reaches its main point: the wisdoms that resist and re-exist through oral technology. In retrieving individual experiences and notes taken in field studies, results of research in different areas of knowledge are combined. In summary, the present study consists in the recognition of this set of knowledge of the healers of the region as a seam against the current, which shows social and cultural gaps through the enchantments by the word and as a strategy for maintaining life.

Bruneaud, Karen 18 June 2010 (has links)
For Antoine Berman, a major characteristic of great prose is its ability to “span the whole linguistic range of a community”. Some writers, such as Twain, Faulkner, Steinbeck and Salinger, have thus drawn on all the resources of the English language in order to recreate vernacular discourse and/or nonstandard idiolects. This stylistic strategy, which expresses theauthor’s particular ideological and political attitudes, is often lost when translated into French. Translating these “deviant” forms of writing poses specific problems while being paradigmatic of the way in which the translator is embedded in the translated text : nonstandard discursive patterns therefore provide a privileged viewpoint from which to study the translator’s action as well as the strategies he uses to transfer the original’s ideological and aesthetical dimensions to the translated text. Our study begins with a sociolinguistic analysis of nonstandard English, before examining its use in literature, in order to understand the dual dialectic of “mediation and emulation” that links literary sociolects to linguistic reality. Wethen explore the practical and theoretical tradition of literary translation to understand what factors affect the translator’s work and his/her approach to nonstandard writing. Finally, we analyse a corpus of translations: using Bourdieu’s sociological theory and Berman’s “systems of deformation” analytical system, we examine the “re-enunciation” (Folkart) strategiesadopted by various translators and the potential readings that result.

de Lorimier, Julie 08 1900 (has links)
This study examines how the mediatory action of the griot in West African oral traditions is at work in the films of Senegalese filmmaker Djibril Diop Mambety. This force of orality, of mise-en-présence, emerges in Mambety’s films from narrative disruptions and sound-image disjunctions. Instead of relying on narrative or speech as a discourse, this force of orality challenges the story’s consistency, inviting the viewer to frequently revise his or her interpretation of what is being seen and heard. The film itself becomes griot, a griot which links the world borne by the film and the spectator in a dynamic and ever-changing interplay. By fostering, through these disruptions, a critical stance toward the world on which depends the narrative, Mambety’s cinema makes room for marginality and exclusion, which inhabit all his films. Oral tradition and griot are first defined, followed by an analysis of how the films Parlons Grand-mère and Le franc are mediator films, functioning as griots. This opens the way for a broader reflection on the ethical significance of film-as-mediator, as well as the possible ties between mediation and narrative. Finally, an analysis of the film Hyènes, on account of its more linear narrative exposition, provides an opportunity to deepen our understanding of Mambety’s filmmaking, and to explore the greater implications of mediation in cinema.

"Autoria sob a materialidade do discurso" / Authorship under the discourse materiality

Fortunato, Marcia Vescovi 05 December 2003 (has links)
This dissertation discusses the authorship phenomenon - understood as a procedure that organizes and controls the discourse, a concept extracted from Foucault's work - and its possible relations with the material nature of the discourse. It analyses the media through which discourses reach consistency, the cultural modifications they have introduced in the ocidental culture and the procedures of authorship these very media justify. It describes authorship under oral, handwritten, printed and digital cultures and investigates the relationship between the materiality that overlays the discourse and some procedures of authorship observed. It concludes that, among the procedures generated by social, historical and ideological factors that compose the wider context of discourse production, there are authorship procedures that can only be understood in the ambit of the mediatic culture in which the discourse is produced.

The research of this reading of the Mozambican novel pointed out in the orality, boundaries and narrative performance, consequent of the intersection between voice and letter, in agreement with the mythical origins of its culture. The items of the our research are inter-related with the figurative sights of the questions between relation tradition and modernity and their insurgencies in the social reality of Zambezia, especially, in relation to black woman while loud voice looking for autonomy, social status and individual freedom. The light of this culture social question, bring us as a result that change and the emptying of social positions occupied by woman in troubles bring up a eccentric writing by the communicated dialogism of the word with the orality, responsible method by the fusion of two or more voices in the representation of hybrid speech of the novel. The effect is the constant and invariable mobility of the narrator and her ideological eminence in the handling passionate and libertarian trouble of the black woman voice in the context of the patriarchal society, like voices linked authorial / O objetivo desta dissertação é refletir sobre a escritura híbrida do romance africano O Alegre Canto da Perdiz (2008), de autoria de Paulina Chiziane.
